Alright so I'm back with chapter 9!
so Naruto decided to take the genin exams again . . . I wonder how that goes out for him ;)
it seems that there are some people who want some more Hinata so I'll be sure to write her in some more but I can't promise it'll be much, after all I have a whole big plan for this and I have to show some more of the friends

ROUND TWO
When they returned to the academy, the end of the year and the graduation exams were close; Naruto had three months left to hone his skills and knowledge.
On one Friday, while they were at the apartment, they started talking about what they were going to do. "Alright, if I'm going to graduate early, I have to get better!" Naruto said with enthusiasm to Haruto.
Haruto yipped in agreement.
"Alright, let's head over to the training fields, there we can practice our Taijutsu!" Naruto said in excitement.
Haruto reflected that excitement from Naruto as he jumped up multiple times.
"Okay, okay. And then we can also practice our jutsus too; we need to learn the transformation jutsu, substitution jutsu, and the clone jutsu. If we don't know those, we won't be able to pass." Naruto said in an analyzing tone while striking a thinking pose.
"Hmm, we also have to do a test on knowledge, I won't be able to do it so we'll have to make up with the other two parts" Naruto said while being in the same pose and with his eyes closed.
Haruto tilted his head, he didn't know if he could really make up for it with the other two.
"Alright!" Naruto suddenly shouted causing haruto to jump, "oh sorry" Naruto chuckled as he rubbed the back of his head. "Anyways, we need to start training as soon as possible, I'm pretty confident in my fighting skills but last time I didn't have any time to fight, and plus you haven't done enough fighting so we'll have to train you too" Naruto said towards Haruto.
Naruto started to wag his tail and pant in excitement.
The next morning, Haruto woke up Naruto with licks on his face.
"Wh- what?" Naruto asked while still half asleep. Haruto then bit Naruto's ear and dragged him off the bed.
"Oww! Hey why'd ya do that?!" Naruto shouted at Haruto, mad that he was woken up.
Haruto was about to put his head down but then he remembered about the talk they had last night, "Alright if I'm going to graduate early I have to get better!"
Haruto then built up air in his chest and let it out, *BARK* the loud bark rang through the apartment.
Naruto, while looking at Naruto saw a yellow aura around Haruto, when the aura touched him it felt like determination. Naruto realized that he's been seeing auras all around people, first it was Mebuki with a red, evil aura, then it was Haruto with an orange, pained aura, and now it's happening again with a yellow determined aura.
"Hold on Haruto, let me do something real quick" Naruto said as he went to a drawer that was next to his bed.
As he opened it he got out a piece of paper and a pencil, "alright so these 'auras' come off of people, red means hate, orange means pain, and yellow means determined" Naruto thought as he listed them down.
"Hey Haruto, do you also see the auras?" Naruto asked Haruto as he showed him the paper.
Haruto then squeaked and put his paw on top of his other paw.
"Yeah your aura is yellow right now, it's determination, I wonder if anyone else can see them" Naruto wondered while looking down at the paper.
Naruto then remembered about last night, "Haruto! We have to get going!" Naruto shouted as ran to his closet.
Haruto deadpanned at that remark.
As they ran to the training field they sensed a red aura, it was faint but it was still there.
As they ran closer and closer to the training grounds, the hatred grew stronger and stronger.
As they focused on seeing the hatred in the distance, they realized that the hatred was covering the whole training ground, the center of it being so strong that you could only see red.
"I wonder what that is" Naruto said letting his thoughts reach Haruto.
Haruto let out a squeak but he didn't seem to be affected by the hatred.
As he drew closer, the hatred started to affect Naruto, he was feeling a strong hatred, so strong that all his mind thought of was reaching the source and stopping it, he would do anything to stop it.
Haruto tried to calm him down but it was no use.
As Naruto grew closer, a red chakra seeped out of Naruto, it fully covered him and made his features more fox-like.
Naruto was much faster and stronger from it, Haruto who was still hanging onto Naruto's head had only one choice.
Haruto used his own chakra and stabilized the red chakra, the red chakra turned into a pink color and Naruto regained consciousness from his hatred.
"What happened?" Naruto thought as he slowed down.
Naruto no longer saw the red aura and he was able to see but it was all shades of pink.
"Haruto, is this my aura? No, this is different, this is chakra isn't it" Naruto asked.
Haruto was completely exhausted from using his chakra and gave a tired yip.
Naruto's features went from beast-like to back to his normal form except his hair was as if it had no gravity, his clothes were swaying as if there was wind from all over, and his eyes were both purple, only the right one was more moderate.
As Naruto looked down he saw a glowing outline around his hands, "what is this?" Naruto thought.
Naruto then tried running and he was fast, way faster than normal, he stopped at a tree and tried punching it which instantly shattered the part where he punched.
"Woah, this is a lot of power, too much for me to use correctly" Naruto thought.
As he tried to take a step, his foot left an imprint on the ground, "I'll destroy a lot of stuff if I keep this up, they'll never allow me to become the Hokage if I destroy the village" Naruto said aloud, letting Naruto know what he was thinking.
Haruto only yawned then fell asleep.
As soon as Haruto fell asleep, the pink chakra went away.
Naruto was again engulfed into the anger but it didn't seem to affect him, he still felt it but it seemed like it was filtered out.
"If that happens again I'll for sure get into trouble" Naruto thought as he ran away from the source of the anger.
When Naruto arrived at his apartment he played down Haruto on the bed.
"I better train my body instead of my fighting for now, after all the villagers let me practice on them" Naruto thought with a grin.
Naruto then did a full body exercise for 3 hours and when he finished he was super sore.
" I don't think I can train my Jutsu today" Naruto said out loud just to let his thoughts loose.
He then fell asleep on the floor.
The next morning, Naruto was awakened by a bite to his ear.
"Oww!" Naruto shouted in pain, Haruto you bully! What'd you do that for?!" Naruto shouted.
As Naruto sat up he noticed all his soreness was gone.
"I didn't know that it healed that quick" Naruto said while bending his arms.
"Alright, today is Jutsu day!" Naruto shouted which caused Haruto to jump.
Naruto then got to his feet and tried remembering the required hand signs for the Jutsu.
As he put his fingers into the required hand sign, he tried to use his chakra but it ended up making Naruto into a pink blob.
As Naruto went out of the transformation he was laying flat on the floor, "that didn't work" Naruto mumbled.
Haruto covered his eyes with his paw.
"Alright, maybe it's because I didn't have a thing to turn into" Naruto wondered. Naruto then looked over to Haruto, "maybe I can turn into Haruto?" Naruto thought.
Naruto then got up and put the image of Haruto in his mind, with it ready he used the Jutsu.
Naruto was then in a puff of smoke.
When the smoke cleared there was another Haruto.
When Naruto looked down he saw paws in place of hands and everything was much bigger.
"It worked!" Naruto said in a squeaky voice.
Haruto wagged his tail and did a small squeak.
The transformation then dispelled.
"Awe, I wanted to go for longer" Naruto pouted.
"I'll try again!' Naruto said with excitement.
He then did the same process and it was the same outcome, he would turn into Naruto and then almost instantly turn back.
"Alright, that won't work so let's move on to the Clone Jutsu" Naruto said as he looked down at Haruto.
Naruto then put his hands in the required hand sign and then he flared his chakra.
There was a puff of smoke next to him and when he looked at it, there was a cold, pale Naruto on the floor.
Naruto screamed when he realized what it was, "am I dead?! Did I die trying to make the Jutsu?!" Naruto yelled out.
The dead Naruto then puffed away into smoke.
"Oh it was just the clone" Naruto said in a sigh of relief.
"That was a clone?" Naruto thought sadly as he looked at it.
"Well no point in getting sad about it, right Haruto?" Naruto said with a smile, showing his determination.
Haruto wagged his tail and gave a little squeak.
Naruto kept on walking outside in order to get jumped but little did they know that Naruto was wanting it.
As they walked the streets, he felt their hatred come off of them, "get ready Haruto, this time you'll be fighting with me" Naruto told Haruto silently.
They then heard the sound of footsteps rushing at them.
Naruto started to run in order to play it off like he was scared but really he was trying to get to a secluded place.
"Ready, Haruto?" Naruto asked as he turned the corner and entered an empty street.
Haruto's squeak was a bit deeper, showing that he was ready.
The villagers, still behind them, when they turned the corner, Naruto was gone.
"Hey where'd he go?"
"He turned this corner right?"
"He must be hiding!"
Naruto then reviled himself to being on a rooftop as he jumped off and landed on one of the villagers.
Haruto next to him as they fell and he went to another villagers face.
"Let's do this!" Naruto shouted with enthusiasm.
Haruto gave a small howl in reaction to Naruto's shout.
The two of them then started to fight the villagers, if it was a one on one battle then Naruto could take it but he estimated that there were around ten to fifteen there.
They fought side by side, protecting each other.
Haruto was still too small to hurt them but by launching himself and by clawing or biting then he could physically hurt them.
As they fought, Haruto was analyzing his next moves. He was a smart animal, he was careful, analytical, and he was a good strategist.
He carefully did his attacks in order to inflict the most pain on his opponents, unlike Naruto who is fighting randomly and only winning because of strength and technique.
When they finished they were out of breath, fighting fifteen people isn't something they do often.
They decided to follow their routine every weekend until the genin exams.
When the genin exams arrived, Naruto was more confident unlike last time.
He was much stronger and faster than before, his fighting technique was better, he was able to do the Transformation Jutsu for around 10 seconds, and his clone who used to be pure white had some color.
As he took the first written portion, he looked over the questions to see if he knew any of them. He saw questions that talked about scenarios that Naruto had to deal with so he answered those questions easily, the rest was unknown to him so he put what he thought.
When the fighting portion came, Naruto was ready for anything. When a kid that was actually a fourth year came, Naruto grew nervous.
When the match started Naruto went to a different side of the ring.
The kid on the other hand only looked at Naruto, he wanted to see what he was capable of.
They both went to the center of the ring and then Naruto threw the first punch
The kid dodged the punch and crouched down, he then punched Naruto in the gut
As Naruto crouched down as a reaction, the kid threw his knee at Naruto's face.
However he didn't notice that Haruto, who was originally with Naruto during the beginning, was gone.
He then felt a jolt of pain coming from his butt, it was as if he was bit.
As he turned to see what happened, he saw Haruto clinging onto his butt.
Naruto used the distraction that Haruto gave him and kicked the boy on the side of his head, launching him out of the ring while leaving Haruto behind.
All the students watching were surprised that a second year managed to defeat a fourth year.
The ref reluctantly pulled up his while and blew into it.
He then raised his hands and put air into his chest.
"N-Naruto Uzumaki . . . wins the spar!" the ref shouted, distaste in his eyes.
"Yes!" Naruto shouted as Haruto jumped in delight.
They then moved into the jutsu portion, this would decide if he would pass or fail, if he can't to one Jutsu to its minimum then it's an automatic fail.
He entered the exam room and he quickly pushed away his nerves.
He decided to transform into a naked girl version of himself called Naruko, he made her up in order to play pranks on people but he hasn't used it yet.
When they ordered him to do the Transformation, he called out his Jutsu name.
"Sexy Jutsu!" Naruto shouted as a puff of smoke surrounded him.
As the smoke cleared, it revealed a tall mature woman with two blond ponytails.
The two jonin who were conducting the genin exams were launched back with nosebleeds.
Naruto then went back to his normal form.
"Hahaha, you guys had the funniest reaction!" Naruto shouted out while laughing.
As the two jonin regained their composure, they asked him to do the next Jutsu, the Substitution Jutsu.
As Naruto cleared his mind, he envisioned himself substituting with the spare chair in the room.
He then flared his chakra and he was substituted with one of the instructors chairs.
"I meant to do that" Naruto lied with a smile.
Haruto, who was sitting on the side of the room, put his paw over his eyes in disappointment.
When Naruto went back to his spot and the instructor had his chair back, they told him to do the Clone Jutsu.
Naruto had to put all his concentration in order to do this Jutsu, it was much different than the other two Jutsu.
As he concentrated, his blue chakra started to swirl around him in a vortex.
Suddenly the chakra went away and there was suddenly a puff of smoke next to Naruto.
As the smoke cleared there was a lifeless clone laying on the floor.
"D-does that count?" Naruto asked with a shy smile.
"You fail" the instructor on the right said while straightening papers by hitting them on the desk.
Haruto lowered his head and laid down instead of sitting.
Naruto stood shocked, staring at the instructor.
"You came close, but I'm afraid you failed again, you can try again next year" the instructor on the left said with a comforting smile but it was obviously forced.
Naruto then lowered his head and started walking for the door, "come on Haruto" Naruto said as his clone turned into smoke.
Naruto was defeated, he had 2 more years of the academy but if he keeps on failing then he might not even graduate.

Well it was to be expected, this isn't a fanfic where Naruto is super strong, in fact it is the opposite . . . well for the beginning.
I mean there are a ton of fanfics where he's op so I decided to branch off. . . hopefully that's not my downfall . . . that's hoping I do manage to get a good reading.
