I posted Haruto and a scene from the fanfic so go check it out!

Also, this is way larger than anything I have ever written and it took hours of days of writing, mostly 1 hour per day and I skipped a few days but still.

PASS OR FAIL

"He's late again!"

It's been three hours ever since the members of team 7 arrived at the academy's rooftop, their sensei didn't give clear instructions about where they were meeting or at what time after all. They had arrived at 7 in the morning since that is the normal time for Shinobi to wake up and head out.

Naruto had been pacing around the rooftop for quite some time to let Haruto get some steps in but it had seen he had completely forgotten the original purpose and started pacing in annoyance.

Sasuke, who had been leaning on the railing with folded arms, shared Naruto's annoyance, "This is ridiculous, who comes late to their own meeting? I could be doing something better with my time!" Scoffed Sasuke

Hitomi, Sasuke's twin sister, was seemingly unfazed and instead more interested in the contents of her book. The academy's rooftop gave a semblance of shade, which protected her from the sunlight.

Naruto paused mid-pace and looked towards Hitomi, "Aren't you getting annoyed, Hitomi-chan?"

Hitomi quickly glanced up from her book, her dark eyes meeting with Naruto's mismatched eyes, " Kakashi-sensei has his way with dealing with things, plus there's no point at getting mad about it, it won't change anything," she responded, her eyes quickly dropping back down to the contents of her book.

Sasuke scoffed, "Doesn't mean we have to like it."

"I didn't say you have to, I'm just saying it won't do any good," said Hitomi, her eyes never leaving the book.

Just as Sasuke's frustration reached its peak, the sound of rustling bushes stopped everyone in their place. The trio moved to the edge of the building and looked down to the source of the sound.

"What is that?" Asked Naruto who was trying to get a better look.

Sasuke grew even more annoyed thanks to Naruto's idiotic remark, "How am I supposed to know?!"

Before Naruto was able to shout back at Sasuke, their cyclops of a sensei appeared with Haruto in his arms, "Yo" greeted Kakashi.

As much as Naruto was surprised by the sudden entrance of his sensei, he was even more surprised to see his best friend Haruto in Kakashi's arms, "Haruto?!"

Haruto quickly jumped out of Kakashi's grasp and ran back to Naruto, "I'm back!"

As Haruto lunged at Naruto's open arms, Naruto felt the need to ask an important question, "Hey Haruto, how did you find Kakashi-sensei?" He asked as he looked down at Haruto.

Haruto seemed a bit confused but he quickly gave a reply, "I smelled him, I think you're getting ahead of yourself and lowering your guard," Haruto said as he made his way to Naruto's head. "You would've smelled him too if you had been paying attention."

"Huh? I mean I guess I haven't been paying attention to my senses often but I didn't think I would actually downgrade from it!" Naruto said in a worried panicked tone.

"That's the thing, Naruto," Kakashi said, getting the attention of the three genin. "Senses are important to a ninja, if you don't listen to them, you'll be killed." Kakashi said as he grabbed his Icha Icha book out.

The sentence echoed in the team's head for a short while, only interrupted by the sound of a turning page from Kakashi.

'They're that important? I guess they did help me when I was younger. I'm the same me but on a larger scale, just like my opponents are too."

Kakashi then brought back their attention when he started talking again, "Now then! Shall we get started?" He asked as he snapped his book closed. Before anyone could answer he spoke again, "Meet me at training ground 7 in...10 minutes!" And with that he disappeared in another puff of smoke.

As Naruto tried to sort out his mind with all the new information, he saw Sasuke already running away, Hitomi being close behind him.

"Hey, wait up!"

At the Hokages tower, three knocks were heard behind the door of the Hokage's office, requesting to enter.

"Come in," said the aged Hokage. He was a wise and smart man, he has won many battles, but all of that knowledge that he has is on battle and Jutsu.

As the door opened, it showed a still bandaged Iruka Umino, his face showing clear signs of worry behind the multiple bandages that he was applied.

He entered the messy room that was the Hokage's Office. Papers everywhere, a couch on both sides, a bookshelf filled with mismatched books, and a desk with the Konoha symbol on the front center of it. Papers were stacked at least 2 feet high on the desk, multiple stacks covering the entirety of it except for I'm front of the Hokage so then he has a place to focus on what he has to work on. Hiruzen definitely felt the pressure of the village whenever he was in the office, especially because of the pictures of the previous Hokages hung up on the wall.

"Ah, Iruka-san," Hiruzen greeted with a warm smile. "What do I owe the pleasure of you coming today?"

"Hokage-sama," Iruka bowed as he fully entered the room. "I want to talk about one of my students, Uzumaki Naruto, and his sensei."

As the team arrived at training field 7, Kakashi could be seen reading his book while leaning on a log post. With a quick snapping sound the boom was closed and already tucked away safely.

"Welcome to training field 7," said Kakashi. "This is where I will test you to see if I will take you in as my students."

"Does that mean that if we fail your test we will get a different jōnin-sensei?" Inquired Hitomi.

"Good observation," said Kakashi with a small smile behind his mask, "but no, if you fail my test then you will be sent back to the academy, and if I really wanted to, make it so then you never become a Shinobi."

Naruto was now definitely going through a rollercoaster of emotions. First he was scared after hearing about another test but then relieved when Hitomi asked her question, then again scared once Kakashi expanded on it, truly letting them know the extent of the situation they were in.

"That's not fair! I busted my ass off to get here, I'm not going back!" Shouted Naruto

"Yeah, I won't go back, I have to get stronger," said Sasuke, clearly irritated.

"Then you'll have to pass my test, no way around it," said Kakashi, getting out two bells from his hip pouch.

"Are we going to have to take those bells from you?" Asked Hitomi, eyeing the bells that hung loosely from Kakashi's hand.

"Correct," answered Kakashi. He then grabbed a kunai and, with speed and precision, threw it onto a flat log, making a sundial clock. "You have until 3pm to take the bells from me, or else you won't get lunch and I fail you."

As their sensei finished, Naruto's stomach decided it was the perfect time to do a loud growl.

"Alright then, I suppose we should get started."

Once their sensei finished speaking, Naruto pulled out a kunai and started running at the man. He hoped to be able to quickly get the bells before Sasuke would be able to, which would secure his position on the team.

Not 3 steps in, Naruto had he kunai to the back of his head being secured in its place by Kakashi, "Na ah ah, I don't believe I said to start yet, I said we should get started, that means it was a suggestion."

'So this is a jōnin?' thought Sasuke as he took in Kakashi's speed, 'he even disarmed the prank in an instant, he's fast.'

Naruto, for being in a position that would scare anyone, furrowed his brows in irritation. How was he supposed to know it was a suggestion? That would've confused anyone. Or at least he thought.

"Man you suck, even I caught on that it was a suggestion, as ninjas, we have to find the true meanings of things," said Haruto in a bark while smirking.

Kakashi then released his grasp on Naruto and released the kunai, "Now I think we should get started," said Kakashi, stressing the 'should' part.

"So," said Hitomi, finally deciding to put her book away. "Will we be starting now?"

Kakashi took a while to respond as he looked up to the sky, "Once the sun dial reaches 10:20 then you guys are free to start."

"Yatta! This will be a piece of cake!" Shouted Naruto as he headed to the tree stump where the kunai rested. He stared at it blankly for a while, giving enough time for Sasuke and Hitomi to walk over to it as well, leaving Kakashi behind as he read.

As they all watched it, Sasuke and Hitomi started preparing for the fight they were about to face. Naruto on the other hand kept on staring at it, his straight face starting to falter and quiver.

"You don't know how to read this, do you?" Barked Haruto as he watched down on the slowly moving shadow of the kunai, being only a couple of seconds until the set time.

Naruto deflated after hearing those words, clearly he had to work on his acting, "Not at all, I never understood this part or found it necessary." Naruto then perked up again with a little more annoyance and anger, "We have clocks! Why don't we use them?!" Shouted Naruto and he took out the kunai from the stump.

Sasuke and Hitomi let out a deep sigh and then vanished in a blur into the surrounding foliage. Haruto then tugged at Naruto's hair in order to get his attention.

Naruto turned even more annoyed by that action, "What is it?" Lashed out Naruto, emitting a bit of a reddish gray aura. When Haruto touched it he felt the corresponding feeling that it had, he felt annoyed, very annoyed. It was a mix of being mad and a bit of anxiety which made annoyance.

Haruto quickly flared his chakra and dispelled the emotion with his own natural emotion, he would have done the same to Naruto but he was dealing with his "natural emotions" which weren't forced onto him.

Taking a mental note of the new emotional aura, Haruto decided to let Naruto know one very important thing, "The test started already."

The aura dissipated in an instant as if it was never there and was briefly replaced with a flash of an aura of nervousness, too quick for Haruto to figure out the color but he definitely felt the emotion.

Naruto did a quick scan of the field and found that it was just him and the one eyed ninja, his teammates hidden somewhere.

"Should I be hiding, Haruto?" Asked Naruto quietly so then Kakashi doesn't pick it up. Naruto was definitely nervous, he had faced off against some crazy people but for his opponent to be this relaxed and not pay him mind was setting off danger signals all over his body.

"Probably, just get out of there," Barked Haruto, as quiet as he could.

Before Naruto could run off, he was interrupted by a snap of a book closing, the snapping sound echoing across the training ground, causing some birds to fly away.

Before Naruto could even react, a voice came from behind him, "Ninja Lesson Number One, Stealth." As Naruto looked behind him, he saw nothing at all, no sign of anyone being there.

He was about to run off again but he was interrupted once more by a finger tapping his shoulder, he then froze once the man he could only assume was his sensei started talking, "To be a great ninja, one must be good at not being detected and act fast. Be too slow and you get caught and die, be too fast and you might mess up."

Naruto this time tried to punch where the voice came from only to hit a log, hurting his hand in the process.

"Use your senses, you dumbass," Haruto barked, then sighing as Naruto, and the other genin, face-faulted in Naruto's stupidity.

They quickly regained their composure and Naruto finally started using his heightened senses.

He closed his eyes and focused on them, 'where could he be?'

He then felt a presence behind him that had a smell he didn't recognize. He then swiftly pulled out a kunai and ducked down to slash at the man.

However, when he opened his eyes he saw that he sliced halfway through a log. He stared at it blankly for a while, trying to figure out what happened.

As he was still thinking, he let down his guard, allowing the man to come back, "Shinobi don't let others get behind them," the man said, "Konoha Ancient Taijutsu Supreme Technique: 1,000 Years of Death!"

Before Naruto could react, a haul of shuriken were sent to the man, stopping him from using the technique. Naruto used the time to make distance and finally see his sensei. He was holding all of the shuriken that was flung at him on two fingers, using the rings in the middle to hold them.

Kakashi smirked behind his mask. He then pulled out his book and launched the shuriken from where they came from.

Hitomi, who was watching from the trees, had to dodge some of her shuriken and even deflect some with a kunai too.

Hitomi then got up from her spot, but still remained hidden, and started moving to a different direction, 'I can't let him find me.'

Sasuke, who was on the other side of the training field also had to stay on the lookout, 'I can't make dumb moves now, I need to wait and time them perfectly.'

Sasuke kept watching Kakashi, eyeing his every move, until...

"AHHHH"

Both Naruto and Haruto looked over to where the faint but echoing scream came from, "That was Sasuke-teme's voice," Naruto mumbled.

"I think it's time to move onto the next lesson," Kakashi said, getting the attention from Naruto. "It's time for Ninja Lesson Number Two, Taijutsu."

Kakashi then motioned to his hand for Naruto to come at him, of course Naruto obeyed and rushed at the man.

Naruto first threw a punch but over-extended, allowing for the sensei to grab the arm and throw Naruto. Naruto landed safely but Naruto landed on his back.

Naruto then quickly got back up and rushed at him for a kick which was easily blocked, he then landed and threw a jab at the man but was deflected, causing Naruto to become exposed. He was then kicked across the field.

"Try not to overextend or make dumb decisions, it won't end well for you," said Kakashi as he kept on reading.

More kunai were then launched at Kakashi from trees. He easily avoided them but caught one and used its momentum to go back to where it came from. Not paying any mind to it, he kept on walking to Naruto only to find him missing.

"This is getting interesting."

Naruto was in the trees panting as he tried to catch his breath. It took a while for him to finally catch it and become stable.

"Thanks, Hitomi-chan," said Naruto as he turned to look at Hitomi.

Back when Hitomi was looking for a good hiding spot, she found a good place to set up a trap. It took a while to make it but she successfully made a kunai launcher. She had to time it perfectly to fire off but when Kakashi was more distracted while reading his book, she set it off from a distance using ninja wire to distract him for just enough time for her to get Naruto out of the situation.

"No problem, but we need to find nii-san (Sasuke), he's a better fighter than the both of us," said Hitomi, she also heard his scream and was actually worried about him for a while.

"Fine but we don't get along well," said Naruto as his hand went up to his head to pat Haruto.

"We don't need you two to get along, we just need to work together in order to get the bells," said Hitomi as she kept on watching Kakashi's movements.

Haruto then barked loudly which made Naruto tackle Hitomi out of the tree and into the bushes.

When they landed, Hitomi was obviously a bit annoyed but when she looked up she saw Kakashi's figure looking down at them with a kunai in one of his hands.

"So you're worried about whether he will pass or not?" Asked Hiruzen as he sipped a bit of his coffee.

They had moved their conversation to the cafe in the Hokage Tower. The place was clean and had a nice view of the village. This was the place Hiruzen would go to in order to get his coffee and to just relax while still not technically leaving the tower.

The Konoha Cafe is where the previous Hokages would sponsor business that they liked. The First Hokage had a nice coffee stand with some delicious breads and a traditional Senju Clan restaurant that served his favorite mixed mushroom soup. The second had liked the same business but also sponsored a seafood restaurant that served fresh fish. Hiruzen had no need to sponsor anything new for he liked hajiki, a sea vegetable that the seafood restaurant also served.

"Y-yes, I was just wondering about his sensei," replied Iruka as he took a bite out of his baked bread. His face turned from worried to awe in a matter of seconds after he took a bite from the bread. No wonder the previous Hokages liked it.

Hiruzen smiled at the reaction, he had the same reaction when he first tried it. He closed his eyes and chuckled for a bit, "yes, the bread is amazing, isn't it?" He asked with a smile.

"Yes, it absolutely is! Lord First and Lord Second had great taste!" Iruka said after swallowing. He then bit down again and tore the bread apart, releasing the heat that was trapped in the thick bread.

"Yes but I assume you don't want to talk about bread for the rest of the conversation?" Asked Hiruzen jokingly.

"Ah, right" said Iruka as he placed it back on his plate. "So, who is Naruto-san's sensei?" Asked Iruka.

"His sensei, well he's a wonderful young man, a strong one too," said Hiruzen as he smiled and looked down at the bread.

"Then he's a good sensei?" Asked Iruka, hopeful that Naruto didn't go through all the trouble only to be rejected.

Hiruzen became uncomfortable, not wanting to make the man worry but also answer his question, "Well I wouldn't know," replied Hiruzen, now looking at the bread solemnly.

Iruka was puzzled. Had it been this jōnins' first time taking on a team? "What do you mean?" Asked Iruka.

Hiruzen sighed and reached into his pocket. He took out a book and slid it to Iruka, "See for yourself," was all that the Hokage said.

Iruka flipped through the pages, checking for the page on Naruto's team. When he found it he saw exactly who his sensei was, "Hatake Kakashi?! It says that he has never passed any genin team!" Said Iruka in complete shock.

"Yes, Kakashi-san has a strict test, it causes him to fail those who don't pass," said Hiruzen. "I'm pretty sure he just doesn't want to teach kids but his test does have a valid point to it," added Hiruzen as he picked up his bread.

He then bit into it and his mood was changed to pure bliss, making everything that he just said into a distant memory and instead focusing on the bread.

Hitomi had just landed, having to avoid an attack from Kakashi. She looked over to the field and saw Kakashi there. He was still reading his book. She became confused.

"A Clone," Naruto said in disbelief.

Hitomi was even more confused, they hadn't learned much about clones when she was still in the academy but what they did know was that the simple Clone Jutsu only made illusions. Hitomi then put the pieces together and realized that Kakashi was either tricking them with an illusion clone or he was using elemental clones.

"Naruto, throw a rock at it," said Hitomi, quickly coming up with a plan to figure out their problem.

Naruto trusted Hitomi so he did as she said, he picked up a rock and threw it straight at Kakashi's head.

The man used his kunai to cut the rock in half, causing it to avoid hitting him completely.

"So it's not a clone," said Hitomi. "Then that means if I do this," she said as she threw a flurry of kunai to the other Kakashi.

The kunai she threw however, didn't go through him as she thought they would, instead he blocked them all and even threw one back like he did before.

The kunai he threw stuck right into a tree with a loud thunk sound.

"Is this..." Naruto mumbled.

"So, did you figure it out yet?" The Kakashi above them asked.

"How?" Hitomi asked with one word, the rest of her question went unheard but it was still there.

"Shadow clone?" Naruto asked as he pulled out his kunai.

"Bingo," said the cloned Kakashi. He then stabbed himself with his kunai, causing him to pop into smoke.

Hitomi lashed there trying to figure out what just happened, she ultimately decided to ask.

"Naruto," she said. "What is a shadow clone?"

Naruto grinned when she asked that. "It's my ultimate Jutsu, I used it to defeat that traitor, Mizuki," Naruto said as he put his hands into a cross seal. "Shadow Clone Jutsu!" He shouted.

There were now ten more Naruto's behind him, each of them wearing a smirk. "It's a clone Jutsu that makes actual clones!" said the Naruto she could only assume was the original.

Hitomi analyzed the clones, she noticed that they all did different things at different times, something that Naruto would have no way of doing due to his chakra control, hell he couldn't even make a clone.

"So they can fight?" Asked Hitomi just to make sure.

"Yeah! They're totally awesome, right?" Grinned Naruto as he showed off what the clones can do. Each clone running around and even punching the trees to show they can fight.

"Naruto! You dumbass, shut up or that maniac sensei will find us!" Said Haruto as he looked around.

Naruto was quick to shut up and scan the area, something that Hitomi followed up on.

"We have to find nii-san," said Hitomi, "we'll have the best chance at winning with him."

"Right," said Naruto as he kept on searching the field to try to find the raven haired boy.

An idea then struck one of the clones, "what if we make identical copies of you guys, that way we can confuse Kakashi-sensei?" Asked a clone.

Hitomi thought about it. It was a good idea, they would make Kakashi try to find the real team, they would also make him use chakra in order to tire him out.

"Alright, you guys do that and run off in different directions in the forest," said Hitomi. "It makes it harder to move around but it will be just as hard for Kakashi-sensei."

The multiple clones of Naruto then used the Transformation Jutsu to transform into multiple clones of Hitomi and Haruto and spread out into the forest.

"Alright, let's go."

'it seems they're on the move'

He then made a motion with his hand as a signal. When he finished, multiple transformed clones of Kakashi appeared all over the forest.

'lets see how this plays out.'

"Damn it!" Shouted Sasuke, his eyes darting around the forest while tearing out grass with his teeth. 'I have to get out of here, I have to become a genin so then I become stronger!'

Sasuke was in a tight position, so tight that he was slowly losing blood circulation to his head, not fast enough to put him in danger but instead to knock him out at some point.

"I can't move!" Shouted Sasuke. Sasuke was currently only a head, the rest of his body underground.

"Damn that Kakashi-sensei!" Grunted Sasuke. 'If only I wasn't caught off guard!'

-Flashback-

'I can't make dumb moves now, I need to wait and time them perfectly!' thought Sasuke.

Sasuke kept watching Kakashi, eyeing his every move, until two hands bursted through the dirt and grabbed his ankles.

Before Sasuke could even react, he was pulled down all the way to his neck, screaming louder than what he was capable of due to the fear and surprise.

He felt the hands release him so he tried to escape but found himself dug tightly, not allowing any movement of his body besides his head.

He then watched as in front of him was Kakashi digging himself up, "Stay put here for a bit will you, Sasuke." Kakashi then jumped up and went behind him, making it impossible for Sasuke to see him.

"Damn it!"

-Present-

"Damn it!" Sasuke grumbled.

There was then the sound of grass being stepped on, the crunching of the blades and even a few leaves, "So," said the voice of Kakashi. "You're still stuck here."

"Let me out and let me fight, if I'm here then I can't pass," said Sasuke in his most menacing way he could pull.

"Hmph, I'll let you stay here for a bit longer, I'll be back soon," said Kakashi as his presence faded away.

'Where's Hitomi? Hell I'd even hope Naruto gets here for the small chance that he digs me up!'

Sasuke then heard the sound of grass crunching again, "So you're finally going to dig me out now or what?" Asked Sasuke with a rude voice.

There was then a faint sigh and some mumbling coming from just around a tree, something about "trust", and "this way".

As the footsteps grew closer, he realized there were multiple footsteps, two to be exact.

"I guess we found him," said Naruto, looking down as he slowly made his way to Sasuke.

When Sasuke's head came into view for him it took a while to realize what was going on. Once he did realize, he paled so much that he was the same color of Kakashi's hair.

"Hurry up and dig me out! You dobe!" Shouted Sasuke.

"GHOST!" Shouted Naruto as he hid behind Hitomi. Naruto has never been great with the undead and seeing Sasuke as a head that was talking really messed him up.

"You dumbass, I'm buried INTO THE GROUND!" Shouted Sasuke, making sure Naruto got the message through his idiotic brain.

"Oh, alright..." Said Naruto sheepishly as he chuckled and walked over to Sasuke, Hitomi following closely behind him.

It took around 25 minutes but they still had 4 hours and 5 minutes to finish the test.

Naruto and Hitomi were completely out of breath after having to dig him out and were now laying on the ground. In order to catch their breath in their own break. Haruto was laying down on Naruto's stomach, his favorite resting place besides his head.

"So," said Sasuke. "How did you find me?" He asked. He was pretty deep into the forest but he did have a good view, it was amazing to see how they found him.

"Naruto led the way, I don't know how he did it." Replied Hitomi, waving her hand to point to Naruto who was still panting.

"So?" Asked Sasuke. He wanted to know how the dead last of the class found his hiding spot, it was no spectacular spot but it was a damn good one.

"I don't know," replied Naruto. "It was like I came here but I didn't, like false memories that were true."

Sasuke stared at him for a while but then looked away, "Be like that then, don't tell me, but when you need information then I'm not going to give it to you."

"It's the truth!" Said Naruto, causing Haruto to stir awake for a bit but then fall back to sleep after a yawn.

"Yeah right," scoffed Sasuke.

"Nii-san," Hitomi said, catching Sasuke's attention, "I was with him for a long time, even before we came looking for you."

"So what then?" Asked Sasuke, he was getting annoyed and a bit was seeping out in its reddish gray aura.

"An aura?" Mumbled Naruto as he stared at it. He was tempted to touch it and figure out what it was but he was still on the floor so he couldn't even touch it if he wanted to.

"What was that?" Asked Sasuke, spilling out more of the aura in a way that made it look like tendrils.

"Your aura," said Naruto clearly. "It's a weird reddish gray color." He was trying his best way to describe it to him but he didn't know if they could see it or not.

"What are you talking about? What aura?" Asked Sasuke, not believing Naruto in the slightest.

"You don't see auras?" Asked Naruto trying to get his answer that he pondered for many times.

"You're crazy," said Sasuke as he turned away to look for Kakashi.

"Hitomi-chan, you believe me, right?" Asked Naruto, desperate for reassurance that he wasn't the only one, that he hadn't gone crazy.

Hitomi seemed to look apologetic at him, "Sorry Naruto," she said, "I can't see it so I can't believe it, one word can't make an essay."

Naruto didn't get it but he knew that she was sorry, it just made him feel down that he was the only one.

Haruto then lazily opened one eye, "At least we got answers," he said as he yawned and went back to sleep.

Naruto's frown turned into a small smile, he wasn't alone, he's not crazy, he just has to make people see that.

When he finally got his mood back up, a presence disturbed Narutos' senses. When he looked straight he saw Kakashi standing upside down from the tree looking straight at them.

He quickly pulled out a kunai and threw it at his sensei only for him to pop when it made contact.

"A clone," Naruto said loud enough for others to hear.

Haruto then quickly got up and searched for Kakashi's scent, "He's close."

Sasuke was confused, why was Naruto and his pet getting so worked up over a clone?

"Nii-san," Hitomi called out in a whisper. "These clones are physical, they can interact and damage but pop on impact, stay alert."

Sasuke understood and pulled out a kunai of his own, he didn't want to fall victim to another Kakashi. "Watch out from below too, he can pop out from there."

With the team all working together, Kakashi finally made himself known, "So, you think you can beat me just by fighting me all at once?" Asked Kakashi's voice as it echoed around them.

"I'm getting multiple scents from all around" Haruto quickly barked as he got in an action ready pose.

"Clones," Naruto said. Quick and brief, it's all the others needed to know in order to prepare.

The team had their backs all together, supporting each other from each side. They were all ready to attack when Kakashi spoke again, "let's see how you all do, shall we?"

Nine clones of Kakashi all jumped down from the surrounding trees nearby, slowly walking towards them in sync.

"Which one is the real one?" Naruto nervously asked. He's been in fights with villagers but this man is on a whole different level. He puts fear into the genin, making them think quicker, seeing how fast they can adapt, and most importantly, if they are fit to be Shinobi.

"We'll just have to try our luck," replied Sasuke, his hand shaking a bit but not enough to affect his fighting abilities.

"Let's all take three clones, divide and conquer," added Hitomi as she was in the same situation as Sasuke.

"Alright!" Shouted both Haruto and Naruto in perfect sync, showing just how much they were alike.

The genin then ran up to their own respected opponents of clones, each of the genin with a kunai in their hands, ready for action.

Naruto was the first to get into a fight. He rushed at one Kakashi with a kunai in hand and swung when he got close, however, the clone used his gloves, which had a bit of metal on it, to deflect the strike and throw Naruto off balance.

'Crap!' thought Naruto. He was then kicked away to a tree for support. As he got up he was a bit dazed but he got his kunai again and rushed in again, not getting any closer than the previous attempt.

Haruto finally got into a good position where the clones couldn't see him, finally unleashing their Super Secret Ultimate Attack Plan!

Naruto smirked as he ran against the clone. This time instead of attacking head on, he slid under the clone then launched the kunai backwards, popping the clone.

He then got back up and pulled out another kunai. He threw the kunai towards a clone where Haruto was near, only for the clone to deflect it and almost hit Haruto and instead embed itself to the tree next to him. Naruto smirked again as he pulled two shuriken this time.

Naruto then got ready to shoot the shuriken, giving time for Haruro to pull out the kunai from the tree. When he unleashed the two shuriken to the same clone, Haruto threw the kunai and made one shuriken bounce off and head to the other clone, popping it in the process.

With one last clone, Naruto grew cocky and smirked, "One left."

As Naruto pulled out another kunai he started walking towards it as if he wasn't about to attack, completely relaxed. Haruto followed after him and they passed the clone, which was looking confused.

When they passed it, Naruto passed yet another kunai to Haruto, which caught it, and then the two of them slashed at the last Kakashi, popping it in the process.

The Super Secret Ultimate Attack Plan was a success.

Blow after blow, Sasuke was pushing the Kakashi Clone into the defensive. Ever since he separated to fight his bunch of Kakashi, he had been fighting the hardest he had ever had.

He kept on punching in a pattern, when the clones figured it out then he would change it.

It was easy for him to take down two of the three clones but the last one was harder, 'This one must be the real one!'

Sasuke smirked when Kakashi backed up against a wall. He pulled out one of his kunai and attached a piece of ninja wire on it without him noticing. He then threw the kunai and when Kakashi dodged, he flicked his finger, causing the ninja wire to change the direction of the kunai.

Sasuke smirked when he saw that it was aiming right at Kakashi, what he didn't expect was Kakashi to make another clone. The clone quickly took the blow, popping it and stopping the kunai. Kakashi then ran deeper into the woods, Sasuke blindly following.

The field was empty, no sign of battle or of anything getting in. Except it wasn't empty.

Kakashi, the real one, was reading his Icha Icha book once again. He sat on top of a tree, completely relaxed, not worrying about anything. He was engrossed in the contents of the book. The occasional giggle rang around the field but no one was there to hear it.

Everything was great, until he suddenly closed his beloved book and started watching the field.

'I'm surprised at how skilled these genin are, especially Hitomi.'

He kept staring at the field.

The sound of multiple footsteps then started coming in. First it was quiet, then as it grew closer it grew in quantity and loudness.

Out of three different directions came out three separate clones of Kakashi, all running away from the genin.

When all three clones of Kakashi reached the center, the genin regrouped as well, "How are you guys holding out?" Asked Naruto with a grin.

"Better than you," replied Sasuke. In all fairness Naruto was covered in dirt and the surprise attack from the clone he was chasing did not help.

"I'm alright but I used up some energy," replied Hitomi. She looked normal but inside she was tired out and sore. Although her soreness was affecting her, she was still able to put up a fight.

Haruto, who was on the crown of Naruto's head, then sniffed the air once more. His eyes widened and then he shouted a bark.

Naruto had the same reaction but this time he pulled out a kunai, "Above!" He shouted as he threw it at Kakashi.

Both of the other genin also got ready for a fight but when they went for their weapons pouch they realized they were missing, "Looking for these?" Asked both the clones that Sasuke and Hitomi were chasing, both of them holding both of the missing pouches.

"Damn it," grunted Sasuke as he took up another Taijutsu stance. Hitomi mimicked the stance but with a bit more stiffness.

The clones then pinned the pouches high up on separate trees, making it difficult for them to regain their pouches and the weapons inside them.

Naruto kept his eyes locked on the real Kakashi who was still on top of the tree. Kakashi was crouching down with a kunai in his hand, ready to spring into action at any moment.

They were all in a face off, each of them waiting to see who made the first move. Unbeknownst to the genin, the fight had already started.

Two pairs of hands bursted out from the floor, aiming to grab onto Sasuke's legs. Sasuke was expecting this and was ready for it. When Sasuke saw the arms he jumped up into the air, aiming to not get grabbed and planted once again. However, the clones in front of them started their assault and were on their way over to them.

While Sasuke was still in the air, one of the clones distracted Hitomi with a fight while the other aimed to capture Sasuke. As the clone grew closer, Naruto had no choice but to look away from the real Kakashi and save Sasuke.

Naruto begrudgingly tore his eyes away from Kakashi and over to Sasuke. He then sprinted over to help, Haruto following behind ready to give backup.

Sadly, they weren't fast enough and Sasuke was captured in the arms of the clone. Haruto tried to claw at the clone but easily avoided it. Naruto also tried to slash at it but couldn't get far if he didn't want to hurt Sasuke.

While Naruto was trying to help Sasuke, Hitomi was ambushed by the real Kakashi and was taken away into the forest.

The clone was still distracting the two genin and pup but then let himself get hit a few seconds later, popping it and dropping Sasuke.

"Teme, you alright?" Asked Naruto as he put his hand out to help Sasuke.

"I'm fine," replied Sasuke as he took his hand and got up. He then grabbed a kunai and looked around, looking for Hitomi and the clone. Naruto also looked back up to where the real Kakashi was only to see he wasn't there anymore.

"He's gone!" "She's gone!"

"Who's gone?!" Naruto and Sasuke asked each other.

"Kakashi!" "Hitomi!"

They stared at each other, processing what they said until it clicked, "Kakashi took Hitomi!" They both shouted.

They then got ready for battle and started looking for the two.

After a while of searching, Naruto started getting nervous and worried. Every step he took with crunching leaves under his feet was making him look out for any sign of Hitomi and Kakashi.

Sasuke on the other hand moved with determination, yes he was nervous but he needed to drown that feeling in order to be effective, which was something that Naruto definitely didn't know. Even though his mind was no longer nervous, at least for the most part, his body was still tense, ready for any action.

Sasuke tried telling Naruto what to do but it was as successful as dragging an anchor through rocks. Eventually Sasuke got fed up with it.

"We should split up," said Sasuke with impatience and annoyance, wanting to go on his own to be faster.

Naruto looked offended by the idea, "No way teme! It's all your fault for this so I can't have you messing things up again so we find her together!" Shouted Naruto.

Sasuke scoffed, "Do whatever you want, dobe, just make sure you look for her." Sasuke would be damned if he let anything happen to his younger twin sister. He won't let anything happen to his family ever again.

As they kept looking, Naruto and Haruto were keeping their senses heightened to the max. They were able to hear a bird chirp from a quarter-mile away. While Naruto and Haruto were relying on their hearing and smell, Sasuke was relying on sight, he was looking around every little spot wherever they moved, straining his eyes until the pupils took a slightly red color. He didn't notice it but his eyesight slightly heightened, allowing him to search for a bit longer.

After about two hours of searching, they heard a rustle in the bushes. Both genin brought out their own pairs of kunai and shuriken and got ready to strike. Haruto also got ready but there wasn't much he could do, he was more of a search animal.

As the rustling grew louder, they didn't notice that Kakashi snuck up from behind and casted a genjutsu on Naruto and Haruto, making them see a bloody and broken Hitomi crawling out of the bush.

With a quick scream from both of them, they almost fainted at the sight of their friend on death's door. Luckily they pulled through and went running to the bush to try to help.

Sasuke was confused. To him it seemed that Naruto and his companion suddenly screamed but when he looked back at them there was nothing wrong. He grew even more confused when they dropped their guard and ran to the bush. Only right before they made it did he realize.

"Naruto! It's a genjutsu!" Cried out Sasuke, sadly landing on deaf ears.

When Naruto pulled apart the bushes, it revealed Kakashi crouching down, like a predator waiting for his prey to get close so then he can kill it. With a quick lunge, both Naruto and Haruto were caught by Kakashi, still awake but unable to do anything because of the genjutsu.

Sasuke clicked his tongue as he saw it happen, "damn it," he said as he took in the situation. He then heard the sound of bodies dropping down with a quiet thud. When he looked around he saw multiple clones that looked like Hitomi, all laying on the ground, looking as if they're unconscious.

He sneered at the thought of his sister being hurt, if Kakashi dared to lay a finger on her then he would make him pay.

"Now then Sasuke, there are only two hours left, why don't you come show me what the rookie of the year has to offer?" Asked Kakashi with a grin behind his mask.

Sasuke was more mad than anything, he wasn't in the mood to show off or to prove himself, he just wanted to save his sister. With a scowl he lunged at what seemed to be the real Kakashi but was dodged. He was still angered and wasn't thinking straight, his fighting took a toll from it. He no longer forced Kakashi into a corner or made him go on the defensive, instead he was attacking at random, trying his best to not hurt Naruto while also trying to defeat Kakashi.

"Give her back!" He shouted as he threw another punch only for it to be slapped away leading to a kick on the chest, sending Sasuke tumbling back.

When Sasuke got up, he saw one of the unconscious Hitomi clones that laid scattered in a circle formation. He got protective but quickly reminded himself that it wasn't the real Hitomi and jumped away from it.

He analyzed his situation, he wouldn't be able to win it. His best bet would be to wake up Naruto and Haruto in order to fight Kakashi together. Waking up Naruto was the problem though. He would need to get close enough in order to release the genjutsu himself but with Kakashi there it would be a challenge.

He pondered it for a bit but he made up his mind, he would work together with Naruto.

He gathered up enough energy to hopefully surprise Kakashi and release the genjutsu but he wouldn't know until he tried. He then shot off in a zigzag pattern and got close to Kakashi. When he was a few feet away, he reached out for the bells that were still on Kakashi's hip, causing him to shift in order for them to not be taken. That shift in position made Naruto just close enough for Sasuke to switch again and grab Naruto.

"Kai!" Sasuke shouted as he made Naruto's chakra burst out, releasing the genjutsu.

When Kakashi noticed it, he dropped both Naruto and Haruto and then jumped back, making some space between them.

Naruto then stirred back to his senses, "What happens? Where's Hitomi? Is- Is she alright?" Asked Naruto as he held his head.

"Get up."

Naruto was about to argue but when he looked around he understood and did as he was told.

"What's the plan?" He asked as he pulled out his last kunai. He had used a lot during this test and had not bothered to pick them up.

"First release Haruto or whatever his name is from the genjutsu, just pulse his chakra," said Sasuke as he kept on staring at Kakashi, not letting him out of his sights.

"Right." Naruto then crouched down and put his hand on Haruto, "Kai!" Shouted Naruto as he pulsed Haruto's chakra, releasing the genjutsu.

While Naruto explained the situation, Sasuke was secretly gathering up chakra into his lungs and readied his hands.

When Naruto and Haruto grouped up with Sasuke, he quickly did hand seals and spewed out a large amount of fire, "Fire Ball Jutsu."

Both Naruto and Haruto were surprised to see Sasuke use a big Jutsu like that but they quickly snapped out of it. Naruto then put his own hands into a seal, "Shadow Clone Jutsu."

Kakashi was a bit surprised to see that Sasuke knew the Fire Ball Jutsu but he pushed the thought back in order to focus.

The fireball landed first and then 3 clones rushed it and punched Kakashi at the same time only to hit a piece of burnt wood.

"Substitution?" Asked Naruto as he looked around at the trees.

"Substitution," confirmed Sasuke as he looked around the trees for the same reason.

They were tense. Kakashi isn't one to take lightly, they found that out the hard way. But Everytime they fought he was a clone or going easy on them. It was embarrassing at how bad they were compared to him.

They quickly moved to back to back formation. One person sees one side while the other sees the other side.

Haruro was at the top of Naruto's head, sniffing for a scent that they could use but they couldn't find anything. That was the case until a kunai landed at their feet, a tag tied onto it.

Naruto picked up the tag, completely oblivious to what it would mean. Sasuke was about to stop him but he didn't see sealings for an explosive tag. It was a normal tag.

Naruto read the tag and instantly felt mad, "The crappy sensei," Naruto mumbled as he let go of it. Haruto, who also read it, was laughing uncontrollably.

The tag read, "Boom! You're dead. Love Kakashi."

Naruto crumpled up the tag into a ball and threw it away into the forest. "Dumb tag," he mumbled as he went back to his spot.

"Naruto," Sasuke said, catching his attention, "Where did that kunai come from?"

Naruto was about to respond but was interrupted by Kakashi dropping down from the trees with Hitomi in his hands.

Hitomi was under a genjutsu that rendered her unable to do anything. The genjutsu tricks the mind into thinking it is unconscious, rendering the victim unable to control their body or even able to see, think, or hear.

The genjutsu is easily detected and released by stronger Shinobi and only is used for civilians and or new Shinobi. It is also the same genjutsu that Naruto and Haruto were caught in.

Both Sasuke and Naruto ran at Kakashi ready to fight until he put his hand up, stopping them.

"Now now, I've decided I have seen enough," Kakashi said as he laid Hitomi on the ground.

"What did you do to her?!" Shouted Sasuke as he rushed to his sister.

"Relaxe, it's a genjutsu," replied Kakashi calmly. He then crouched down to her and placed two fingers on her forehead, "Kai!" He said as he pulsed her chakra.

Hitomi then got up groggily and took in her surroundings. When she saw that her team was no longer fighting Kakashi, she knew the test had ended.

"What's going to happen now?" She asked as she got up from the ground.

"Now, you all fail," he replied. He turned away and started walking back towards the open field. It didn't take long for Sasuke and Naruto to get angry though.

"That's no fair! You totally went too hard on us!" Shouted Naruto as he pointed to Kakashi's back.

"Yeah! How do you expect us to win against you, you're on a completely different level!" Shouted Sasuke as he clenched his fists.

"If you really feel that way, I'll give you a second chance after lunch."

Having to return back to the field for lunch, Naruto's stomach roared loudly, desperate for food.

"I'm hungry," said Naruto as he dragged his feet through the grass.

"We're almost there," replied Kakashi. He was reading his orange book again.

A part of Naruto wanted to know what was so interesting but he pushed it aside and instead only thought about ramen, the food of the gods.

When they got there, Naruto took a seat in front of a log for support and was about to dig into his bento box that Kakashi had prepared for them but was interrupted by being tied up to the log behind him, leaving his bento on the floor.

"Hey! Why'd ya do that for?!" Shouted Naruto as he tried to escape.

Haruto was about to try to help Naruto but was also tied up right above him.

"You jerk! I'll bite your ankles if you don't let me down! I've got a powerful bite you know!" Barked Haruto. Kakashi didn't speak dog or fox so he didn't understand what he said.

Sasuke and Hitomi just stared at the two of them, waiting for answers before judging or doing anything.

"Naruto did the worst in the team so he doesn't get lunch," answered Kakashi. "Don't feed him or else there is no second chance," added Kakashi as he puffed away into a body flicker.

Naruto's and Haruto's stomach then grumbled loudly, reminding the duo of the hunger they had.

"This is the worst," said Naruto and Haruto at the same time.

Sasuke was eating slowly, so was Hitomi. They were reflecting on what happened in their test. They were also debating something.

After a while, both Sasuke and Hitomi were halfway through their bento until, at the same time, they gave Naruto and Haruto some food.

"Really?" Asked Naruto in disbelief. Naruto also had the same face of disbelief but he didn't bark anything and instead let his eyes do the talking.

"Just shut up and eat before he gets back," said Sasuke as he shoved the food closer to Naruto's mouth.

They didn't hesitate to eat what they were offered. They kept eating as fast as they could, until, in a large puff of smoke, Kakashi returned.

"You all disobeyed my orders!" Shouted Kakashi as he grew closer, slowly taking one large step at a time.

The genin all became fearful, they had been caught.

"You all, pass!" Shouted Kakashi with a smile that somehow showed in his eye.

"I'm sorry! Please don't fail me!" Cried out Naruto as he started to struggle against the wires.

The other genin, including Haruto, were all in disbelief, they had somehow passed.

Hitomi quickly thought about all the reasons that Kakashi would for some reason pass them but couldn't think of anything that wouldn't be out of the ordinary, "Why did you pass us?"

"Well it's simple," said Kakashi. "A shinobi should see beneath the underneath. A shinobi who breaks Shinobi code is called trash. But you know what? Those who abandon and don't take care of their comrades are lower than trash."

The genin let the words resonate through their heads for a bit, taking in the weight of the sentence.

"Isn't that just common sense?" Asked Hitomi.

"Many people in this career lack common sense, but those who do have it are the most dangerous opponents." Answered Kakashi.

The genin all took a moment to absorb that information to their memories, some better than others, and were now ready to leave.

"Alright, let's go," said Kakashi as he started walking away, Sasuke following closely behind him.

Hitomi stayed behind and untied both Naruto and Haruto, "haha, thanks Hitomi-chan, I owe you one," said Naruto as he scratched the back of his head in embarrassment.

'I totally looked so not cool.'

_End Of Chapter_

I hope you enjoyed this extra long chapter and my spin at Kakashi's test!

I felt like he went too easy in the original so I wanted him to show them what it is like to be a Shinobi.

Also I'm keeping Hitomi's abilities a secret for now for a mysterious effect~

Well before I go, let me tell you all this, I probably won't update this story for about another month cause this chapter took a ton of time and it's just Kakashi's test!

I have definitely gained respect for fanfic writers that write like 10K words chapters.
