Shadowoftheblackdeat- *takes giant frying pan* I am so glad you're back. Will 100% be using some of the ideas you've given me, I love them. Thank you.

Danny's POV

I sneak up behind a very unaware Merle. "What you doing?"

Merle jerks back up straight from where he was leaning into the trucks open door. He swings around to face me, like a deer caught in headlights. When he see's who it is he instantly relaxes.

"Ya scared the shit outta me squirt, ya shouldn't sneak up like that".

I cross my arms across my chest and try and peer round him into the cab. "What are you doing?"

"Hidin' some of our supplies in case we gotta split or they try and screw us over".

"You think they will?"

He leans against the open door. "Not all of them but Rick's changed. He ain't the same man we left at the farm. He'll do anythin' to make sure his people survive. That don't include us no more sweet heart".

I look back up to the prison where I can see the Sheriff talking to Herschel and Glenn. "Glenn won't let the Sheriff stab us in the back".

Merle chuckles humourlessly. "Rick pretends to listen but Glenn ain't got no sway. Rick's on own his power trip. That mans a time bomb waitin' to explode".

I nod my head in agreement and then Merle goes back to stuffing things into a duffle bag.

"What you doin' down 'ere anyway?"

"Daryl, Carol and Soph are out there getting some water and I didn't really feel like being in there by myself". It was getting awkward not knowing what to say to the others.

He lets out a rush of air through his nose but he doesn't out rightly chuckle. I jab him in the side before walking round to sit in the drivers seat.

When he's done with filling the bag he zips it up and forces it under the passenger seat. "We keep it locked and keys on one of us. They ain't gettin' all our shit". He hands me the keys. "Drive it up there". He then shuts the door.

Glenn points to where I should park and then I'm locking the car and shoving the keys into my pocket. The Sheriff says one more thing to Glenn before walking away with a small glance in my direction.

Glenn comes over. "We're 'bout to start burning the bodies. It's probably best you go inside away from the smoke and smell."

"Okay, thanks".

When I get back inside C block, the silence is deafening. Nobody is talking. Herschel is sat inside T-Dogs cell keeping a close eye on him. T-Dog opened his eyes last night but that doesn't mean he's out of the woods just yet. Beth and Maggie are sat on the floor whispering to each other. Lori is, I don't know where she is. Probably in her cell. Carl is out front with his dad. It seems the Sheriff has gotten his son more involved.

I back out of the cell area and decide to take a seat at one of the tables in the rec space. I remove my weapons, might as well give my gun a cleaning, there's nothing else to do.

The front door slide opens, momentarily letting in some sunlight. I stand up. "Thank god. You're back".

Daryl, Carol and Sophia all have a look of concern written over their faces. Daryl misses the last two steps as he hurries over to me.

"You do not understand how stir crazy I'm getting."

Daryl's face instantly relaxes and I swear I hear him tut. "Ya gotta stop doin' that to me". He then walks towards C block carrying one of the jugs of water they've just fetched. Carol shakes her head at me.

"It's gonna get worse. You're already on restrictive duties. Soon you aren't gonna be able to do anything." She pauses, "Cause that man isn't gonna let you leave this room".

"He wouldn't dare".

She laughs, "Yeah he would. Come on, we gotta boil this water".

Sophia slips her arm around me as she gives me a one armed hug. "Don't worry", She whispers to me, "I'll make sure that doesn't happen". I sling my arm over her shoulders.

"And if it does, I'll make sure you're house bound right along side me".

"You wouldn't dare".

This time it's my turn to laugh. "Yeah I would".

Carol comes back in carrying both of our camping stoves. "Where's Merle? We got a lot of water to boil".

"I dunno, I left him by the front gates when I brought our car up here. How much is a lot".

"About 100 Litres worth."

"Why on earth did you get so much, there's a stream just on the other side of the fence".

"You, and Lori, could give birth at moment. We need to have some on hand, be prepared".

I stop midway through putting the gas canister in. "I'm glad someone's preparing. I don't feel prepared in the slightest."

Carol places her hand on mine. "Everything will be okay. Merle and I will go out on a run soon to gather anything the baby will need, nappies, baby blankets and anything you need".

"We spent the winter looking out for each other, having each others backs and now, now I'm no use to anyone. I can't even go out and get stuff for my own baby".

"And that's okay, you need to stay safe for your baby."

I let my hand slap on my leg, "You know, Daryl and I haven't even talked about baby names. I haven't even thought about it, like at all".

Carol smiles, "You've got all the time in the world to think of one. It's not like you have to register it any more". Carol leans to the side to look through the doorway to the cells. "Although, Daryl is in your room right now, maybe you could go talk about it now".

I don't move, slightly hesitant for no real reason. Sophia nudges me. "Go, I'll help mum."

"Fine, I'm going".

I leave the two of them grinning at each other. They're ridiculous.

I step in the doorway to mine and Daryl's new room. He's sat on the bottom bunk doing his shoes laces up.

"You just gonna stand there?" He doesn't even look up.

I sit down beside him. "What are you doing?"

"Changed my socks, my feet got soaked". I nod my head but don't say anything more. I don't know how to start this conversation. Why am I so nervous? It's normal to talk about baby names. He drops his foot to the floor, sits up straight and looks at me. "What is it?"

I shake my head, I'll do this another time. I go to stand but he grips my arm which forces me to sit back down again.

"Tell me what..."

"Dixon". I blurt out.

He raises an eyebrow and I can see the hint of a smirk. "That's my name. Anything else you need to say?"

"I want our baby to be a baby Dixon, I know surnames aren't really important anymore, unless your Merle I guess. But I want our baby to have a full name, not that anyone will ever use it, but we'll know". I stop talking to stop the rambling.

This time his smile isn't a hint, it's full blown. Like crinkled eyes and all. "You think I'll say no to somein' like that?"

"We also haven't talked about names and I think maybe we should start thinking of some. I'd rather not call it it or baby when it's born".

"Have anythin' in mind".

Huh. I try to think but my mind comes up blank. My shoulders sag "No, not yet".

"We've still got time".

I turn my body to face him. "You've got to think to, none of that whatever you want crap. And, no weird or obscure names."

"Like what?" Daryl puts me on the spot.

"urm... I dunno like a car name or... or Dorcas. I don't want to be running around after it shouting out some ridiculous name. It'd be embarrassing, for all of us".

His laugh echoes around the room and I'm fairly certain can be heard throughout the entirety of this block. "What the fuck is a Dorcas?"

"It's a biblical name, it doesn't matter. Look my point is no stupid names. Please".

He's still chuckling. "Alrigh', alrigh' I promise. No obscure names".

"Daryl!" Merle shouts up to us. "Get ya fuckin' arse down here and help me bring in that shit load of water".

Daryl doesn't reply to his brother but he grabs my hand, places a kiss against my lips and leads us out of our room.

When we get to the bottom of the stairs Daryl's face shows no sign of the laughter it held just a few minutes ago. He squeezes my hand once and then follows after Merle.

Glenn appears next to me. "What did you say to him to make him laugh like that. He made a few people jump".

I smile at Glenn.

Guys, I need some suggestions on baby names, I already know what the gender will be but I don't want to spoil it.
