"I'm home!"
Indigo eyes looked up through forest green locks, a toothy grin spreading across a messy face. "Bubba!"
Azrael tossed his bag on the floor and scooped up the two-year old as she launched herself at him. "Hey, Princess Jade!" He exclaimed, hugging her to him then throwing her up in the air before settling her on his broad shoulders. "How's my favorite girl?"
Jade giggled and fisted his silver locks in her hands, hanging on to her big brother. "Go! Chocobo ride, go!" she ordered.
Azrael laughed and galloped around the living room, delighting in his baby sister's squeals of joy. "Ouch! Don't pull too hard, Princess."
"Faster!"
The teenager took her hands in his and raced down the hall. "Hang on!" He said. Jade giggled and shrieked as her hair blew back with her brother's speed.
"Hey, no running in the house!" Akalara called from the kitchen with a laugh.
Azrael took his sister off his shoulders and carried her back to the living room. "Sorry, Princess," he told her, kissing her nose. "Ride's over."
Jade pouted and tried to climb back up his shoulders. "No! More!"
"Outside," Akalara told her. She reached for her daughter. "But first, come here. Your hair has come down."
Jade obediently went to her mother and turned around, crossing her arms over her chest and pouting as Akalara pulled the long green locks into a ponytail. "I want to play with Az," she said, casting the silverette a pitiful look.
"Go outside and play with Hunter," Akalara told her, kissing her messy cheek. "Azrael will be out in a minute, okay?"
The little girl looked up at him with big, glistening eyes. "Promise?"
"Promise," he replied with a smile.
Jade grinned and ran out the back door of the house to find her twin brother and wait for Azrael. Akalara crossed her arms over her chest and stared at her firstborn.
"What?" He asked.
"You're a little late coming home," she told him. "It's already after one."
"I had breakfast with Andi at her place," he explained, plopping down on the couch. "I called and told you that."
Akalara sat next to him. "You've been spending a lot more time over there than with us," she said. "The twins miss you. Steel acts like a lost little puppy when you're gone. I miss you."
Her son gave her a long-suffering smile before leaning forward and kissing her on the cheek. "Mom," he began. "It's not that I don't enjoy being here. It's just…"
Akalara sighed and leaned back against the couch. "You're young and in love," she grumbled. "I remember what that feels like, wanting to spend every waking and non-waking moment with them. I get it."
"Good," he said, patting her leg with a grin. "'Cause I'm going back there tonight. Kandi and Rude are going out, so Andi has Zack and Rhea by herself. I told her I'd help out."
"Yikes, poor girl," Akalara cringed. "She's a sweet baby, but two-months old is a hard age."
"Yeah, I figure I can keep Zack occupied and she can focus on the baby."
"Do me a favor?"
Azrael arched a fine silver eyebrow at her. "What?" He asked hesitantly. "If this is about safe sex, Mom, I—"
"No, not that," she chuckled. "I know you'll be smart in that field. Just, will you take Steel with you? You should have seen him at the game last night. He cheered you on the loudest. He was disappointed when he didn't get to see you this morning before he and Rev started training."
Azrael ran a hand over his face. "Yeah, I can do that," he acquiesced. "Steel and Zack can entertain themselves. Let me text Andi to make sure it's okay, but I'm cool with it."
Akalara smiled and kissed his forehead as she rose to her feet. "Thank you, Baby," she said sweetly. "You're such a good son."
"The things I do for my mother's love," Az grumbled playfully. He got to his feet and grabbed his bag, heading to his room. "Steel and Rev out back?"
The green-haired woman nodded her head, knowing her husband was trying to get a head start on her secondborn son's sword training. "Yeah, they just finished with lunch and started back up again."
Azrael grabbed his wooden practice sword and headed to the backyard, where his stepfather had set up a practice area. "Might as well get a workout in before hitting the shower," he commented.
Akalara followed him out, sitting on her chaise lounge and watching the man she loved train the sons she adored. Jade cheered Azrael on as he trained against Revan and gave pointers to Steel.
"Mama."
Cranberry eyes met blue-green and she smiled. "Yes, Hunter?" she asked, reaching for him.
Her youngest son crawled up beside her on the chaise lounge and curled into her body, resting contentedly in her arms. Akalara smiled warmly and placed a loving kiss to the top of his green hair, breathing in the sweet scent of her child.
For the first time in a long time, Akalara Forrest-Sejakuken was content.
Kandi poked her head out of her bedroom door, searching for her daughter. "Andi!"
Andria sat up from lounging on the couch and looked down the hall. "Yeah?"
"Come here. I need you!"
The red-streaked teenager got to her feet and went to her mother's room. "What do you—oh my gods, that's hot!"
Kandi shut the door and locked it, holding the sapphire blue and black corset up with one hand. "I can't zip this damn thing!" She said in exasperation. "My boobs are too big."
"Turn around," Andria ordered, grabbing the top of the garment and trying to zip it up. "Dang, Mom. You were big before, but this baby put you up another cup or two."
"I know," she grumbled, adjusting herself and the laces on the front of the corset. "Okay, try it now."
Andria grabbed the zipper and pulled it right up. "Can you breathe?"
Kandi nodded. "Yeah, no worries," she answered. "Just had to let it out a bit more."
"I love this outfit!" Andria gushed, eyeing her mother. In addition to the corset, Kandi had on a pair of flowing black pants with silver chains looping over each hip. She slipped on a pair of silver stud-covered heels and started pulling on her jewelry. "You have to let me borrow it sometime."
Kandi smirked as she finished up her make-up. "We'll see," she said. "Is Rude still gone?"
"Yeah, hasn't made it back down from Amazon Land yet," Andria told her. "I think it's cute he's actually going to pick you up. Do I need to give you a curfew?"
"Ha fucking ha," Kandi said, sticking her tongue out at her. She turned as she was putting on her earrings. "Are you sure you're going to be okay?"
"Mom, I'll be fine," she reassured her. "Az will be here and he's bringing Steel, so the boys will entertain themselves. He can help me with Rhea if I need it."
"I hope she behaves for you," Kandi said, shaking her head. "I feel guilty leaving you with the both of them."
"Don't," Andria told her with a smile. "You guys need to get out and have some fun. You turn into a cranky bitch when you don't."
"I do not—well, okay. Yeah, I do," her mom laughed. "I have faith in you. Just don't hesitate to call us if something happens or you get too stressed. I have to admit, this will be great birth control incentive for you guys. Maybe Courtney's mom should have used the babysitting method."
Andria laughed. "A little late for that," she said. She got up and went to the door. "I'm gonna check on Zack and Rhea."
"I'll go with you," Kandi said, setting her perfume bottle down. "Rude should be down pretty soon."
"Yeah, Az and Steel should be here in a bit, too."
Kandi rummaged around in her purse and took out some gil, handing it to her firstborn. "This should be enough to order some takeout. If not, use your own gil and I'll pay you back."
"Okay," Andria said, looking toward the door as the retinal scanner beeped. Kandi glanced over expectantly, slightly disappointed when Az stepped through the door, followed by a little boy with longish blond hair and cranberry eyes.
"Hey guys."
"Hey—whoa! Damn, Kandi, you look good!"
The red-streaked assassin grinned at that, giving her daughter a pointed look. "I still got it," she smirked.
Andria rolled her eyes at that. "Az, you're gonna give her an even bigger head."
"Sorry, Babe, but damn," Azrael commented with a low whistle. "You really are a MILF!"
"My MILF."
The bald assassin walked in, looking at the silverette over the tops of his sunglasses. "You've been cleared to date my step-daughter, not ogle my fiancé," he growled.
Azrael threw his hands up in defense. "Fine by me," he said, going to stand beside Andi. "Andi's hotter anyway."
Kandi gasped in feigned indignation. "Well, I never!" She declared. Turning to Rude, her dark eyes darkened even further. "You look great, Bab—what the hell is that?!"
Rude arched an eyebrow over his lenses and turned to look at himself in the mirror. When he saw his reflection, he chuckled. "Your partners," he told her, taking out a handkerchief and wiping the lipstick off his cheeks. "They thought it would be funny to 'mark' me. I thought I got it all. Guess not."
Kandi moved over to him and reached up to straighten his tie. "I'm the only one who gets to mark you," she purred, reaching up to kiss him briefly. "Ready?"
The bald man nodded and dropped his hand to the small of her back.
"If you need anything, call," Kandi told Andi and Az. "Seriously, anything."
"We'll be fine," Andria told her. "Have fun. And have her home by midnight, young man!"
"…"
With that, the door closed and Andria heard her mother laughing like an idiot all the way down the hall.
"Bet they stay out all night," Az chuckled, throwing himself on the couch and grabbing the remote. He cast her a heart-stopping smile. "Not that I mind spending all night with you again."
Andria blushed slightly, squealing as he pulled her down onto his lap and kissed her soundly on the lips.
"Az, stop," she giggled, glancing over at his little brother.
"Gross," Steel gagged. "Is Zack in his room?"
"Yeah, he is," she told him. "He's watching SOLDIER: First Class."
Steel's cranberry eyes widened as he dashed down the hall to Zack's room. "'Kay, bye!"
Azrael looked over the back of the couch as his brother slammed Zack's door open, then closed it again with equal force.
Grinning wickedly at his girlfriend, he pulled her closer. "Now that the squirts are occupied…"
He trailed off and kissed her again, tracing the seam of her lips with his tongue until she parted them, sighing sweetly as he deepened the kiss. Azrael groaned low in his throat. He loved it when she sighed like that. Just that one little sound drove him crazy; and Andi did it every time he kissed her.
Az broke the kiss and moved down to her neck. "Why do you always smell so good?" He moaned, nipping at her throat.
Andi giggled and pulled back to look down at him. "I shower, General," she said teasingly as she made to get off his lap.
Azrael reached for her as she stepped away from him. "No, get back here," he protested. "Where are you going?"
"I have to check on Rhea," she told him. "Babysitting. Remember?"
Az threw his head back against the couch, groaning in frustration. "Damn it, yeah," he said. "What're we getting the twerps for dinner?"
"I don't know," Andi answered, peeking her head into her mom and Rude's bedroom where Rhea's bassinet was set up. Satisfied that the infant was fine, she turned back to him. "I'll go ask them."
"Okay," he said. "If they don't want anything that delivers, you can show me that trick you and your mom do and I'll go pick something up on my bike."
"Not a chance, Babe," Andria called back with a laugh. "I have sworn on pain of death that I shall not divulge the means behind that particular skill."
"I call witchcraft."
Andi hissed at him as she opened Zack's door. Leaning against the frame, she crossed her arms and grinned. "You guys hungry?" She asked, instantly knowing the answer.
"YES."
She laughed. "Okay, what do you want?"
"Pizza!" Zack exclaimed.
"You ate a whole pizza with the works by yourself just yesterday!" she told him. "No pizza."
Zack pouted at her. "But Andi!"
Azrael had come down the hall and wrapped his arm around his girlfriend's waist. "Costa del Solian?"
"No, Zack farts enough as it is," Andi complained. "I'm sure if we eat that, you and Steel will join him and try to kill me."
"Like you smell any better when you fart, Andi," Zack said, sticking his tongue out.
"Wutain?" his sister suggested, ignoring his comment.
"I want sushi!" Steel piped up.
"Of course, Son of Revan," Andria giggled. "I wouldn't expect anything less from you. Zack, does that sound okay?"
"Yeah, okay I guess."
Violet eyes rolled as she took out her phone. "Fine. We'll call you when it gets here," she told them, closing the door. "Geez, he's such a brat sometimes."
Azrael laughed as he went back into the living room, listening to Andi order the food, smirking as she placed an order for Zack's pizza as well as the sushi. He went and checked out the games Kandi had next to the GS4. He picked up the SOLDIER RPG and looked it over. Andi ended her call and went to see what he was looking at.
"Oh!" She exclaimed, taking the game disc from him and turning on the GS4. "This is that game Mom and Ram made. It's really cool."
Az arched a silver eyebrow at her. "You played it?" He asked, catching a controller when she tossed it to him.
"Yeah, yesterday," she told him. "Our dads are in it."
"No shit, really?" He asked, watching as it loaded up. "Damn, those are some really good graphics."
"I know, right?" She laughed. "They're letting us beta-test it. So far, there's very little that sucks. Just some glitches in the programming that need tweaked. Zack played as Sephiroth and there is this one part where he is on the canon in Junon and can use Masamune to slice right through it. It's pretty bitchin'."
Azrael grinned as Andi selected Zack as her character and then let him select his player. Of course, he picked his father.
"Hey Az?" She said sweetly, blinking those gorgeous violet eyes of hers at him.
"Yeah, Babe?" He replied, leaning forward to kiss her.
She returned the kiss and smiled. "My dad is so going to kick your dad's ass."
"Bring it on, Fair."
A/N: Are we enjoying the ride so far? Just gotta say, I love the idea of the game, where Az and Andi can play as their dad's. It gives me serotonin.
