Alicia returns from quarantine after the Royal Rumble with a bounce in her step, a small grin on her face that only widens when Ricardo is right there at the door as soon as she pulls up, their eyes meeting before she even stands up out of the car. She dashes into his arms and he laughs, lifting her up and spinning her a little before bringing her back down to the ground and kissing her. "I've missed you," they say as one, and then laugh together, resting their foreheads together.
She leans in and kisses him and he sighs softly, reaching out to find her hand. "Come on," he says softly, leading her inside where Sofia waits with Andre, who Alicia immediately goes straight to and wraps her arms around. "Oh, my little boy," she coos, peppering his little face with kisses. "Mama has missed you! I'm so sorry I keep having to leave like this."
He whimpers and fusses a little, but quickly settles, and Alicia beams, looking up at Sofia. "Hey, Sofia. Thanks for taking care of my boys while I was gone."
Sofia smiles. "It's always my pleasure, Alicia. But I'm happy you're home, the place is always so quiet without you."
Alicia giggles, then leans in and hugs her carefully, before turning back to Ricardo. He takes her hand when she reaches out for him and they walk side by side to the couch, where she snuggles into him, still holding onto Andre. Sofia wanders off to give them family time alone for a little bit, and Alicia kisses him softly. "I've missed you so much," she whispers against his lips.
"I've missed you more," he says, and they fall into a soft back and forth about who missed who the most, laughter and a little bit of tears underlining their conversation. Eventually Alicia hands off Andre to Ricardo when he begins to fuss a little, going to warm up a bottle for him.
It all feels so perfect, she sometimes can't believe this is her life. She presses a hand to her lips and thinks about five... no, even two years ago. Shakes her head at the reflection of herself she can see in the stainless steel refrigerator. "Alicia Fox, you are one lucky woman," she murmurs.
Later that night, after Andre is down, and Sofia is once more settled in her bedroom with a book, Ricardo once more leads Alicia into the living room where she stops short and gapes. "Ricardo..." she breathes out and he smiles at her.
The room had been transformed, covered in soft purple lighting, with a table set up in the middle of it, pristine white table cloth covered in applique hearts that shimmer in the faint glow. Plates sit patiently, waiting to be filled, and Alicia shakes her head in amazement. "When... when did you have time to set this all up?"
"Well," he says, leaning in to kiss her gently. "Sofia helped. We did it while you were dozed off with Andre in the nursery." He grins at her. "We didn't get to spend the actual Valentines Day together, so I assumed this would be a good replacement. What do you think?"
She breathes in deeply, and clutches at his sleeve, drawing him in closer and pressing a slow kiss soaked in adoration against his lips. "God, I love you," she mumbles. "So much."
"I take it that means you like it?" he cracks and she laughs brokenly against his lips. "I love you too," he breathes against her skin and she hums, closing her eyes and leaning back into hsi warmth. "Come on, let's go get our food before it grows cold."
She squeezes his hand and nods, following him into the kitchen as he explains the absolute feast Sofia had helped him put together for the two of them, her eyes locked on his face as love courses through her anew for this man. The father of her child. The love of her life.
She's never felt so much joy before.
