Leavinig Alicia at home to rest, Ricardo and Sofia go exploring. "So, I know we talked a bit about this already, but I've been busy this week with my different bookings and now that I have a minute to breathe again, I was wondering how you're adjusting to everything now that we've had a little more time?"
Sofia smiles at him. "I still like it. It's... very different from California. I'm adjusting, but it is easy to relax and enjoy the places and things I have seen so far. Thank you for bringing me along, mi hijo. I have noticed a few things Andre will probably enjoy when he's old enough, you know?"
"I can't wait until he is," Ricardo sighs. "I do all of this for him, you know?" He pauses and taps his fingers on the steering wheel. "And the new baby. Wow, I'm still adjusting to that. Two kids. I used to think I'd never have one."
"I had no doubt," she says softly, patting his wrist when he's at a red light and she won't be disturbing him. "I knew you'd be a good father, if given the chance. I know you weren't expecting some of the difficulties- the pandemic, and your addiction issues. Everything else. You've handled it all so well, and faced your problems and took care of them. Alicia and I, we are so proud of you."
He smiles at her. "That kind of thing helps me more than you probably know. I like it here too, the wrestling scene is better than I expected. I always thought there were more companies in Florida, Texas or California, but Pennsylvania is surprisingly very lucrative. I think I can have a lot of fun around here for awhile."
"Do you think you'll want to leave again some day?" she wonders.
He smiles a little, glancing at her before turning his eyes back to the street. "Oh, you know, I'm always easily restless. I may want to leave some day, but right now I'm happy here. It'll probably last for awhile. I wouldn't worry."
She smiles at him. "I never do, no worries, mi hijo. I have learned long ago you do all you can to make things work for the rest of us, no matter where we end up."
He grins at her. "C'mon, there's a lake over here I wanna show you. I wanna take Alicia here when her morning sickness has eased up some. It would be a perfect place for picnics."
"Lead the way," Sofia says calmly as he parks and turns the car off, pocketing the keys and rounding the car to open the door for her. They walk side by side, avoiding geese and ducks, to the glistening water and Sofia looks it over, approving. "It's beautiful," she murmurs. "A family picnic will be incredible here some day."
Ricardo nods, looking more content than she can remember him looking in a long time. "I thought so. Thanks, Sofia."
She squeezes his hand. "You should trust in your instincts more, mi hijo. You are very good at knowing what people would like."
He looks away and exhales deeply. "I'm trying to work on that," he tells her quietly. "It's not easy after everything with Paige, and El Patron, but... si. I am trying."
She nods, leaning into him to offer comfort and support as they continue to examine the lake and its surrounding area.
