"So," AJ says, leaning her hip against the wall and watching with a smile as Sara and George peer into the twins' crib. "What do you think, kids? Are they the cutest babies you've ever seen?"

"They're small," Sara says after a brief hesitation, peering up at her mom.

"And wrinkly," George adds, before stuffing his thumb back into his mouth.

AJ gapes at her children before casting a glance over at Alicia and Ricardo, who are exchanging looks. "From the mouths of babes?" she offers weakly, leaning over to hoist George up into her arms and smoothly tugging his thumb from between his lips as she walks them out of the nursery so the babies won't be woke up by the children's voices. "You know when you were first born, both of you looked just as small and wrinkly," she tells them, tickling George slightly.

He squirms and gasps, giggling helplessly. "No, mama! No!"

"I remember that," Sara says, reaching up to scritch at her brother's wiggling foot. "You looked weird."

"Mama," George whines, clinging to her. "I did not!" he huffs, glowering down towards his sister.

"No stranger than you yourself looked, Sara," AJ says calmly. "Don't make me get the pictures out."

Sara immediately quiets, tugging lightly at her mother's jeans as they walk into the kitchen. Sofia looks up with a smile. "Have you been to see the babies?" she wonders, scraping some jelly on bread. "Aren't they adorable? I am so happy everything went as well as it did."

"So am I," AJ says, handing over one of the sandwiches to an impatiently waiting Sara. "I was really worried for a little bit, between Alicia's bed rest and how quickly it all came on once it started, but yeah. She did really well."

"Momma," Sara says, tugging on her mom's sleeve. When AJ looks down, Sara dutifully chews on her sandwich before swallowing. "If the babies are here, then we're going home, right? That's what you said?"

"Home," George exclaims, standing on up AJ's legs. "Are we going home? I miss- I miss Daddy."

"I miss Uncle John," Sara adds on, leaning against AJ's leg. "And Uncle Heath. And- and Monroe, and Madison. Do you think they even remember us any more? It's been so long?"

AJ sighs. "I know they remember you, Daddy says Uncle John's asked about you every time they talk. I just need a little more time to make sure Alicia's doing fine with three babies to take care of, and then we can go home."

"Promise?" George asks, wide eyed and hopeful.

"I promise," AJ agrees, leaning down to kiss first him, then Sara on the head. "We'll be home with daddy before you know it. Just be a little more patient, my sweet babies."

"We'll try," Sara says with a put upon sigh.

"Yeah," George echoes. "We'll try."

AJ chuckles and hugs them as she starts to eat on her own sandwich, equally as eager as her children to go home, find some normalcy after the last few months.
