A/N: Been a while since I've posted anything, hasn't it? Fyi, I start a brand new job starting next week so sadly posts are gonna slow down, buthopefully not for too long.
This is basically a cross-post from Squidgeworld to avoid making this account here dead but here it is!

"GRAWWRR!"
Those words that came from the beast as its eyes glare upon the bat-like creature that was seen up in the air, its eyes were keen like a Talonflame, and its face was determined enough to try and defeat the beast in order to save its young.
The obstagoon raised its arms to catch the gliscor, yet to no avail. It landed on the beastly badger's back and gripped its pincers against the monster's arms. Trying to fling the gliscor off, the pincers were tightly gripped against the creature's arms, so it's highly impossible to set itself free. The beast let out a loud roar before swinging its head against the scorpion hybrid's own, its grip giving away as it fell onto the ground.
The gliscor was too fast as the obstagoon made an attempt to run towards the bat's young, yet the creature stopped it from doing so, keeping the badger away from what looked like a few gligar seen hiding behind the bushes. Their eyes were locked against the badger's as it continued its fight against the gliscor's, keeping its pincers gripped against the monster's fur.
The hybrid sank its teeth against the obstagoon's skin, yet its grip was no more as the beast swung the gliscor off, sending the hybrid flying until it hit its body against the rocky wall. With a loud thud, the gliscor slowly landed on its feet, its breath ragged from the fight, and its skin stained with dried blood and dirt stains from the badger's projectiles. It felt like torture, especially to the gliscor's point of view. It wanted to protect its young, it wanted to go somewhere safe with its young. A safer place where no ferals are around.
Letting out a loud screech, the gliscor flew in as it opened its pincers, only for the obstagoon to open its mouth, bare its fangs, and sank its teeth against the bat's skin. It bit down against the bat's throat.
A smaller gligar jumps out of the bushes before its eyes shrank as it watched the obstagoon keeping its grip against its mother's throat. Blood started to drip down its marks as the badger bit down even harder, choking out a few shouts and shrieks before with one last bite, the gliscor's eyes started to fade, and the obstagoon drops her onto the ground, leaving her lifeless body on the grassy, blood-stained floor.
"GRAHAHAHA!" The obstagoon let out a triumphant laugh as it cleaned the blood stains from its muzzle with its long tongue. It felt like a victory to the badger, but none of this is over yet.
As the smaller gligar jumps back into the bushes, the obstagoon slowly takes one step forward, stopping for a brief moment. It felt like something was moving in the bushes, but what could it be? Slowly approaching towards the bush, the badger sinks its claws towards the leaves, only to reveal not one but three gligar, all paralyzed in horror from the loss of their own mother. Keeping itself in a battle position, all three gligar flew out of the bushes, letting out shrieks and pleas as the obstagoon narrowed its eyes towards one of the hybrids.
It snarled and soon went after the first gligar. Keeping its foot against the gligar's back, the obstagoon lowers its head and sinks its teeth against the scorpion's neck, grabbing ahold of it until it hears a SNAP!First one down, two more to go.
It felt like a scavenger hunt when it comes to hunting the final remaining pokemon the obstagoon had laid its eyes upon. With both bats killed, there were only two more it could hunt for.
While the obstagoon was distracted, the smaller gligar made its way out of the hunt, leaving its sibling behind. The oldest of the group was still out where the badger kept looking, hiding behind another bush while its sibling; the smallest and youngest of the family, was far away, keeping itself away from the beast nearby.
The badger's ears perked up as it heard something rustle. Slowly approaching the bush, the obstagoon could tell it finally laid its eyes on another gligar, the eldest of the family, cowering in fear. As it revealed the cowering gligar, the obstagoon sank its teeth against the young's tail. It felt like torture as the gligar felt its tail been bitten off by the beastly badger, but biting down a tail wasn't enough. Throwing the now injured eldest up in the air, the obstagoon jumps up and bites down the bat's neck as hard as it could.
Another SNAP! was heard across the area, and that's the second gligar down. Only one more to go. Dropping the now-lifeless gligar onto the grassy floor, there's only one more thing to do. Grab the last remaining gligar and the hunt is done for.
The youngest of the family was now far away from the obstagoon, distracting itself as it continued looking for the final bat remaining. The youngest of the group was at the top of the tree, staring down at the beastly badger with a loud roar of annoyance. It sounded like it just gave up from looking for the final gligar.
Narrowing its eyes towards the now-lifeless gliscor that was next to the obstagoon, a tear fell straight from its left eye. It couldn't believe it. Its mother, the bravest of them all, was gone. Gone alongside her last two young. Its family is completely torn apart from the obstagoon's bare fangs and its sharp claws.
It knew obstagoon's were very strong against a gliscor's will, and with one bite it's enough to kill an adult. It was far away from the beast, very far away now. The smaller gligar stopped as it remembered it could use its wings to propel itself into the air. Jumping up and down as it flung its arms around, to no avail. None of this is working. Maybe there wasn't any wind at the moment.
Climbing up onto the tree, the gligar raises its arms and its wings dance from the breeze, it felt like it was ready to fly now. Jumping off the tree, the gligar could feel itself propelling through the air, yet with not enough wind it felt like it wasn't enough. Its body hit the tree before slumping onto the ground. As quick as a Nickit, the bat got up and made another attempt, only to stop as it noticed what looked like a dog-like creature.
Its fur was a blueish-lavender color alongside pinker spots on its lower body. Its collar has the same color as the spots on its body as well. As the bat took another step closer, the dog narrows its eyes towards the scorpion, freezing upon eye contact. At first it looked like a shiny counterpart of itself, but turns out it was a snubbull, and it had a different color variation compared to their species.
The snubbull's nose moved as it took a closer look towards the paralyzed gligar. "Snuh.."
The gligar let out a yelp as it heard the bulldog's voice. It sounded so feminine. "Snuh, Snubbull.."
"Gli!" The gligar let out a yelp as it noticed the intimidating look on the dog's face. It reminded the gligar so much of the obstagoon it encountered, and it felt like torture. It let out another shriek in fear as it tried to run off, only for the snubbull to grab ahold of its tail, keeping the gligar from running off. With surprisingly good strength from such a smaller pokemon, the gligar still couldn't understand how power this snubbull was!
The gligar gave up from its escape attempt and soon the snubbull lets go of its tail. "Snuh, Snubbull Snuh."
The gligar couldn't understand what the snubbull was saying to it, but it took a few seconds to fully understand. It sounded like the gligar needed the smaller pokemon's help. The bulldog raised a paw to hold the gligar's pincer, but the hybrid refused to move. It looked like the snubbull was trying to take it away from its family again.
According to its mother, the gligar wasn't allowed to go anywhere; especially by itself unless it's grown enough to do so. With its family gone and torn away from the beast, the gligar had no other choice but to accept the snubbull's choice and follow it's tracks.
"PENNY! PENNY WHERE ARE YOU!?"
The snubbull narrowed her head as the voices revealed her name, eyes completely locked against what looked like a humanoid pug, running across the forest with a bag wrapped around his shoulder. "PENNY!"
"Snubbull!" The bulldog shrieked as she raised her paws to grab her trainer's attention, and at last the pug arrived, eyes furrowed with disappointment and worry.
"Penny, you can't take off running like that! You could seriously get hurt!" The pug snapped back, yet the bulldog-like pokemon never bothered to flinch. "And what did I tell you about-"
The pug's brows furrowed as he then noticed what looked like a gligar, just about the same size as his snubbull in front of him. Thankfully it wasn't injured, but it did have some dirt stains from earlier's flight attempt.
"Wait..is that.." Pugsley grew another closer look at the gligar, and soon upon realization, he froze in shock. "What are you doing out here all by yourself? And where's your family!?"
The gligar formed crocodile tears across his face before wiping them off. It then paused to wipe its nose before opening its mouth to speak. The bat hybrid started explaining why its family was gone, and it was all thanks to the brawny obstagoon's attacks, causing Pugsley to grow even more worried than horrified.
"I-..I'm so sorry.." Pugsley shook as he picked up the gligar and hugged him, "Losing a family is hard, especially at such a young age like you.."
More crocodile tears started forming across the gligar's face. He then placed the hybrid on the ground, before pointing a paw where Penny had run across the forest to stumble upon the same Pokemon she had found earlier. "Camp is that way. I'll show you!"
Pugsley and Penny led the gligar out where the bulldog had stumbled upon. It took less than a few minutes before stopping as the bat froze, its eyes locked against what looked like a campsite. It was once full of Pugsley's pokemon team members, but the only members left were the same bulldog Pugsley had caught. Leading both pokemon at the campsite, the gligar was soon stumbled upon by what looked like a yellow tent home to Pugsley during his journey to Galar. Next was a table that stored many things such as curry plates, sandwiches, etc. Lastly was a pot that was empty ever since Penny had run off, it was once full of curry, but now it was clean and empty.
To Pugsley's point of view, the gligar looked slightly hungry, but he thanked Arceus it wasn't emaciated. "I'll go fish up some stew. You two should go play and know each other for a while."
The gligar locked its eyes against the shiny snubbull for a few seconds before averting back against Pugsley, who was now in the middle of making curry for the two pokemon. It wasn't easy at first, before its family died from an obstagoon attack, it was never allowed to meet other pokemon it doesn't know for the sake of its safety. Regardless of earlier's attack, it drove the gligar nervous even more.
"Snuh, Snubbull." Penny said to the gligar. At first it couldn't understand what it meant, but it took a few seconds for the hybrid to finally understand what it was sayng.
The gligar then started to explain earlier's attack to Penny, causing the bulldog to shudder from fear. She felt sorry for its family's loss, but she thanked Arceus the hybrid made it out alive. This explains why the gligar was out in a deep forest all by itself.
"Alright, curry's ready!" Pugsley shouted, breaking the pokemon's conversation. Both Penny and the gligar ran towards Pugsley as he placed both plates on the picnic table. The curry smelled of fresh spices, moomoo cheese, smoked poke tail, and various berries of any kind. It smelled strong but sweet as well.
Penny started gobbling down the curry like a guzzlord, but the gligar however refused to take one bite. According to the gligar's mother, the only food it was allowed to eat is berries. It can still eat human food according to the gliscor, but it's impossible to find some knowing humans would shoo them off.
"Is there something wrong?" Pugsley asked as he stared at the gligar's worried face, "Did I put too much spice in it?"
It wasn't the spices that caused the gligar to refuse to eat. It tried to think for a moment before recalling earlier's even where it ran off out of the cave, proving it can find food itself without the mother barking at him, before stumbling upon the same obstagoon that killed its family.
"Ohh.. That's why.." Pugsley sighed, "You can still eat it though, just let me know if it's too spicy.."
The pug then noticed Penny had scarfed down the entire plate without leaving a single drop on it. "You finished already!?"
Penny nodded, "Snuh!"
"Alright, I mean that plate had so much food and I didn't know you would finish it up so quickly!" Pugsley was shocked to find the bulldog had finished her food as quickly as possible, but the gligar however only ate one bite. Not because it caused the attack, but mainly because the hybrid is trying new things.
It tasted strong due to the amount of spices Pugsley had put in the food, but eventually it tasted sweet like oran berries. It took the gligar to finally finish its food without having to deal with earlier's incident.
"And you finished too?" Pugsley noticed the gligar's plate is clean. His smile grew and soon he took the plate away from the gligar. "Well, looks like you're trying out new things!"
The gligar stook its tongue out in response and grew a smile on its face. No more obstagoon fights, no more barked scoldings, just the gligar with a brand new trainer. To the snubbull's point of view, she had found this gligar as a wild pokemon, and Pugsley did the same. It was born in a cave with the rest of its siblings before the fatal attack, so it's safe to say the pokemon IS a stray.
Before the attack, the family started migrating to another place where they could stay, yet it was a long and tremendous journey to say the least. Little to no food was found, and their rough skin was dirty and disgusting from dealing with other pokemon who don't know them. Now the gligar's out with another trainer it doesn't know, and at first it was a rough experience, but eventually the hybrid got over it.
"How about I clean you up first then you can stay at my place for a while?"
At first it denied the request, because according to its mother, it wasn't allowed to go near other pokemon's caves from other creatures it doesn't know, because that would result in a pokemon kidnapping another pokemon, smaller or not. Ever since its family's death, it knew what it had to do. Accept Pugsley's request and stay with its trainer until the two grow a bond with each other.
It has been a few days ever since the obstagoon attack and the gligar is now currently staying at Pugsley's residence. The canine had rented a trainer cabin for the next few months before going back to where he usually lives, the campsite. Its skin used to be so sore and dirty, now it's less sore and clean thanks to the help of Pugsley's bathing supplies he'd bought at the store.
The gligar was now treated and pampered like it was his friend. The hybrid and Pugsley started growing a huge bond to each other, and Penny started growing friendlier towards the bat. Unlike Oakley, she usually grows super friendlier towards pokemon she doesn't know unless it's an Obstagoon or a Grimmsnarl. For the gligar, it tends to grow nervous towards other pokemon ever since the attack, but eventually it and Penny started growing more friendly towards each other.
It was a rough decision at first, but with no family to live and nowhere else to go, it had no other choice but to live with a trainer and its partner pokemon.
During training, Penny had taught the gligar to start gliding across the sky again. It was hard at first, but for the next few days it got over it and soon started gliding like there's no tomorrow. The pokemon started growing excited than usual, causing Pugsley's determined smile to grow on his muzzle even further. It's like there's still hope left for this orphaned gligar.
It even started learning a few moves it hasn't learned yet; especially at such a young age. Despite it being at a higher level, the gligar still needed to grow stronger just like the gliscor did when she was a youngling.
As the days go by, Pugsley grew a stronger bond towards the bat hybrid, even Penny as well. It was now given more and more human food in order to cure its hunger, and it was now given more training sessions towards the snubbull she and Pugsley grew friendly towards each other.
On the first day, the bat grew nervous and hesitant to fight ever since the badger attack, but as days went by, it grew even determined to fight anyone off. Session after session, the gligar started wishing it was a stronger gliscor big enough to get revenge on the obstagoon who killed its family long ago.
While Pugsley was at camp, the gligar led Penny over to where the obstagoon had killed its family, but not too far away from where they're at, knowing the same beastly badger is around looking for another prey to kill.
It felt torturous to find the obstagoon still looking for that same gligar it tried to kill, yet failed to do so. Today it is still looking for prey to kill.
"Snuh, Snubbull!" The bulldog let out her battle cry as she ran towards the gligar, but the bat was too fast. It dodges the bulldog's tackle. Penny then tripped and fell onto the ground before quickly getting up, determined she was ready for another attack.
The first few training sessions were torture for the gligar at first, by seeing the same badger in its mind, but eventually it got over its fears and soon determined itself that one attack could defeat the snubbull in one hit.
Its gliders danced along the breeze as the gligar flew upwards, before gliding down towards the snubbull. The bulldog dodged the gligar's gliding attack and went in for Moonblast. The gligar noticed a white beam of light, but quickly dodged it like a thievul, and flew downwards towards Penny, finally tackling her.
The snubbull was sent flying before she hit the ground, knocking her out. As the gligar sucessfully landed, it waited until the smoke clears out to finally reveal a once-fainted Penny, now slowly getting up before thanking the bat hybrid for training with her.
"Snubbull, Snuh." Penny thanked, and the gligar nodded back in response.
"Glahh!"
Pugsley went outside with a pokeball in its hand. At first Pugsley was about to catch the hybrid, but as the canine grew closer, it was just an empty pokeball. It was a pokeball with Oakley's lightning decal on it. Turns out Pugsley had Oakley's pokeball and was about to send out the boltund in order to let the bat hybrid grow closer towards each other.
"Alright, gligar." Pugsley added as he threw the pokeball up and down, "There's someone I'd like you to meet."
At first the gligar thought it was a Raichu, but as a beam of light zapped out of the device, the flash of light slowly disappeared to slowly reveal the shape of what looked like a large canine. It had a tail slightly shaped like a lightning bolt, and it was seen wearing what looked like a green collar with a diamond tag attached to it.
"Gligar, meet Oakley!" Pugsley started before he averted himself to Oakley, "And Oakley, meet gligar!"
The boltund's smile grew on her muzzle but the gligar on the other hand grew even more nervous than last time. In its mind, it could see that same badger that grew super close towards it, drool pouring out of its muzzle and its hungry eyes locked against the bat. The boltund's face reminded it too much of the beastly badger, even though Oakley never looked like one.
"Bol!" The canine barked, leaving the bat hybrid frozen in horror. "Bol..?"
"It's just trying to get used to you, Oakley." Pugsley interjected, but the gligar was growing even more scared than the encounter with Penny. The boltund's teeth grew prominent as she opened her mouth to bark, and it reminded the gligar way too much of the obstagoon's fangs, those same fangs that sank against the gliscor's skin, killing her.
"Boltund!" Oakley barked, confused about the gligar's scared look on its face, yet each loud bark led the gligar even more traumatized than before. "Bol, bol!"
The gligar let out a loud yelp in terror before hiding behind Penny, causing the snubbull to spin around an in attempt to get it off, yet it was clinged against her back, causing Penny to grow dizzy and fell onto the ground.
Pugsley tried to get the gligar off Penny, yet it was too clingy. It wanted to be with the snubbull in order to protect it even though Oakley was trying to be friendly towards others.
"O-OAKLEY'S..TRYING..TO BE NICE..TO YOU!" Pugsley grunted in an attempt to get the gligar off Penny, yet to no avail. Its pincers were still attached to Penny's back.
"Bol..?" Oakley's voice grew worried by the sight of the gligar still clinging against Penny's back. The snubbull grew angrier and attempted to get the hybrid off, yet to no avail. "Bol! Boltund!"
"SNUBBULL, SNUH!" Finally, the gligar lets go of Penny's back. This caused Penny to grow very frustrated towards the hybrid. "SNUH! SNUBBULL, SNUHH!"
"Penny, please!" Pugsley shook, but before he could say anything else, his eyes averted towards Oakley growing closer towards the still-scared gligar in front of them. "I think Oakley's trying to calm it down."
Oakley's muzzle grew closer towards the gligar's face, but in its point of view, it could still see the obstagoon in its mind, its teeth bearing and its eyes hungry for kill. The bat hybrid couldn't help but whimper in fear as the boltund's muzzle grew closer and closer for a 'kiss'. As her tongue lapped across the gligar's face, its eyes widened and its breathing slowed down.
"I think Oakley's calming it down!" Pugsley shook as Oakley finished lapping her tongue across the gligar's face. "Well that wasn't so bad, was it?"
The gligar thought Pugsley was shouting his barked threats at it, and it knew what it had to do. "I seriously didn't mean to-"
"Snubbul, Snuh!" Penny could raise her voice enough for the gligar to grow nervous. At first the snubbull didn't even want to be friends with it anymore, but her yelling meant it needs to stop growing nervous towards others and stop clinging on her back whenever it sees a pokemon it doesn't know. Yet it couldn't help it.
Tears started forming across the bats eyes, and soon the gligar bolted off, leaving the trio shocked with regret.
"WAIT! GLIGAR!" Pugsley shouted as it tried to stop the gligar from running off, yet it didn't want to stop. It wants to be alone. With the bat hybrid disappearing in sight, Pugsley stopped and both him and Oakley glared at Penny.
"Snuh!?"
"Penny, once that gligar comes back, you're going to apologize.."
Its feet trudged against the ground. Its limbs were sore from running and its skin was now dirty and sticky from the excess bushes it jumped into. That poor bat creature just wanted this pain to be over with, all those barked threats, larger pokemon it thinks they're going to kill the gligar. All it wanted was another calmer pokemon to be friends with, yet by seeing an obstagoon in its mind after the death, it felt like torture.
As its eyes averted towards what looked like red eyes, the gligar sped up it's running, ignoring the loss of breath within each step it took. It felt painful as it had to step onto each twig, yet it needed to get out of here. It needed some alone time.
It stopped to catch its breath before stumbling upon what looked like a ravine, completely covered in nothing but trees and other greenery. Maybe it could use its gliders in order to fly back to where it could sleep.
Before it could spread its wings to fly, a loud growl echoed across the forest. At first it was another boltund still looking for the bat hybrid, but as it turned around, its eyes locked against what looked like a humanoid silhouette that was standing in front of him. At first it was a hitmonchan, but it looked nothing like it. As it grows closer, the shadow reveals to be that same beastly badger that killed its family.
It was an obstagoon, and its hungry, red eyes were now locked against the gligar, now completely frozen on fear. Before it could scream for help, it then remembered Penny's training session with it, and it knew what it had to do. Determination.
The gligar jumped up and flew towards the badger. Its claws slash towards the gligar, but thanks to its agility, it managed to dodge the badger's attacks. Letting out a roar in frustration, the gligar flew in and slammed its head against the obstagoon's, yet it managed to shake it off and run towards the now-gliding gligar. Flying in to dodge the badger's attacks, the gligar soon flew back before it could use Acrobatics, yet the badger was too quick. It flew in and sank its teeth against the gligar's skin, biting it down right on its shoulder.
The badger threw its head back and fourth, ignoring the gligar's pained screeches and pleas for help. Finally, the obstagoon lets go of the gligar, sending the bat flying. Blood started to pour out of the bat's wound.
It shook as it watched the gligar fall from the cliff, yet it didn't want to let its body shatter. Disappointed its prey flew off, the obstagoon let out a growl in frustration and walked off, leaving the gligar descending off the cliff from the ravine.
Letting out another scream, the gligar tried using acrobatics to get its glide back towards safety, yet it was no use. The pain throbbed in its shoulder as it tried to spread its wings. The deep bite wound was too much for the gligar to handle, and it knew it was too late. It was going to suffer a different fate its mother went through during the attack not too long ago.
The gligar tried flapping its arms over and over, ignoring the pain from the deep bite wound the badger gave it, yet it wasn't until-
CRASH!
The bat finally slammed its body against the grassy floor.
CRUNCH!
The gligar tried to yowl as pain jolted in its body upon impact, yet the pain was too much. Everything else went numb.
RING...
Its hearing started to ring upon impact, and soon it was all over.. Finally rolling onto a flatter rock, the gligar's vision grew dark and the ringing in its hearing continued to grow louder. It was all over. It was going to suffer a different fate its mother did before, and it was all Penny's fault for arguing.
Until..
"I think I smell blood!"
Its hearing prevented the gligar from hearing voices that ricocheted across the ravine.
"Quick! Grab a Razor Fang!"
"But it's still unconscious! It can't evolve with that in its hand!"
"We'll have to see about that!"
The bat let out a sickly groan as it slowly opened its eyes only to greet itself by what looked like a Breloom and a Bibarel, right in front of the bat hybrid that was on a soft, white bed.
"You had us worried last night, buddy.." The breloom sighed sadly as it placed a clawed hand against the bat's head.
"Mhh..Me?" The bat groaned before noticing something different in the mirror. It grew a closer look before realizing it had evolved into a gliscor. This caused the now-evolved gligar to grow horrified. "N-No! Why!? Why did I change!?"
"We didn't want you to die, sir.." The bibarel responded to the now-evolved gliscor. The gliscor was seen with bandages wrapped around his entire body. They were once stained with blood, but thanks to the amount of full heal bottles they stored in the cabin inside. Surgery wasn't going to fix anything since they're pokemon and they don't have enough materials to do so.
"W-Who are you guys anyway?" The gliscor asked, and the breloom walked closer towards the bat.
"I'm Bella, and the bibarel is Ozzy." Bella responded as she pointed a claw towards Ozzy. "Ozzy and I were stray pokemon."
"Before my trainer died, I had to end up running off not knowing I had nowhere to go." Ozzy started, "But I then stumbled upon a shroomish, and she looked determined she'd take me somewhere safe."
The gliscor shook as he heard the beaver's words. Those words shocked him. "I..I'm so sorry for your loss.."
"Losing a trainer is hard, but at least I have Bella to help me out!" Ozzy chuckled heartily, "You did gave us a huge scare last night, but at least you're a healthy gliscor now!"
He never wanted to be a gliscor in the first place. All he wanted was to stay as a gligar before he could grow older to become one.
"I..I still wanted to be a gligar.." The bat started forming tears across his eyes. "I still needed to wait until I become a gliscor."
"Unfortunately there isn't anything else to do to stop this.." Bella sighed sadly, "But there's something else that can help you out!"
She then led both Ozzy and the gliscor out of the cabin, greeting themselves to other stray pokemon that were currently at the forest. "This is where strays like us live!"
"Strays?" The gliscor asked, still confused about the amount of wild pokemon living there. "What do we call this place anyway?"
"We call this WidowFrost." Bella started, "It's where strays like us live from being orphaned or abandoned from their own trainers."
The gliscor let out a sad sigh. He wanted to go back to where Penny usually trains him, but he didn't want to lay a single eye against her. All he needed is alone time from that bulldog.
"I was..orphaned." The gliscor added, "My family was killed by an obstagoon so I had to end up with another trainer, but I had to run away from him because his..partner pokemon got into a fight with me."
"So you..ran away from your trainer's partner pokemon?" Bella asked, she was confused at first but then upon realization, her face shifted. "I'm so sorry.."
"It's fine, but.. I need to get back to my..trainer before it's too late." The gliscor sighed sadly, wiping the tears off his face.
Ozzy grew closer towards the gliscor and pondered for a moment. Finally, an idea popped out. "As strays, our names work differently here. Do you have name before you ran off?"
The gliscor thought about it for a few moments. "I..I was nameless."
"You're nameless?" Ozzy asked.
"I was. But, I need a new name."
Ozzy pondered once more for a few moments, then another idea popped out. "How about..Rico?"
The gliscor thought about it for a few moments before finally accepting the name the beaver came up with. "I think Rico's good."
"Rico's a perfect name for bravery!" Bella started, "Before my trainer abandoned me, I was once known as Alari, but now I go by Bella!"
"Before my trainer died, I used to go by Toofer!"
The gliscor finally accepted what he was going to go by as. 'Rico'.
"Rico, huh? I guess that fits."
A few days have passed ever since Rico was saved by both Bella and Ozzy. Living in WidowFrost seemed like a calm experience knowing a lot of strays like him were getting to know him a lot. From having conversations with each other and getting his glide back, it felt like he was a real gligar again, but a lot more stronger now.
He started to hunt for food once again, but this time for berries instead of human food. According to WidowFrost's residents, it's impossible to find human food there, so the only things available are feral fish pokemon, berries, and plants.
Ozzy used to be one hell of a fighter when he was a bidoof, but now he's a medicine pokemon as a bibarel. Bella used to be a weak shroomish, but now she's a stronger breloom who is willing to start a spare with something larger than her, and she's determined enough to fight someone off.
Rico on the other hand started growing more absent in the past few days ever since he started living in WidowFrost, not because of his training sessions, but mainly because of how much he misses his trainer when Penny first found him as a gligar. His two friends started worrying where he was at.
On a pine tree branch not too far away from WidowFrost, Rico's eyes focused against what looked like Pugsley's camp from far away. He wasn't able to see his trainer from far away, but he was still able to see the campsite otherwise. The leaves started to rustle, startling Rico before turning his head back to what looked like a litten. It's fur was dirty and disgusting not because it had to run all the way to where the gliscor currently lives, but because it just got done hunting.
"You look a little down, Mr. Rico." The litten spoke as it revealed the gliscor's name. "I wonder what's up with that."
"I miss my trainer," Rico started, "But..I needed some alone time because I just got into a fight with..Penny.."
The litten tilted its head in confusion. "Who's Penny?"
"She was my friend but I had to end up running away from her because I was too scared." Rico sighed sadly. "I knew what I had to do."
The fire cat could notice the scars on the gliscor's shoulder. "Where did you get those scars from? A snubbull?"
"It was from an obstagoon. I had a huge fight with it before I fell off the cliff." The gliscor sighed huskily, "I tried using my gliders to land safely, but the bite was painful enough for me to just end up descending."
The cat could feel its face shift into sadness after hearing those words. "I'm so sorry, Rico."
"I'm doing perfectly fine," Rico's smile grew before it faded afterwards. "I just feel like I want to see my trainer again.."
The litten grew closer towards Rico, yet he didn't flinch. "It's tough to lose a trainer.."
"He's still there, yet he's too far away." Rico sighed sadly as tears started forming across his face, yet wiped them off. "I wish I could glide as far as I can just to see him again."
"Even though you're still a bit hurt, we'll always be there with you!" The litten responded back, "You can call me Fuego!"
"Rico." The gliscor started. "I already told you my name long ago."
The litten nodded in response. "Like I said, we'll always be there for you!"
A few hours have passed ever since the gliscor's absence and during the day he still managed to eat what Ozzy had given him. After dinner, he would emerge back onto the tree where he sulks, thinking about the times where he was pampered by the same canine when he was a gligar.
Now stronger than ever, he still wants to go back with his trainer once more. Thinking about the times when he was a gligar, he would still continue to train with Penny. Now at WidowFrost without the snubbull's barked threats, it reminded him that he wants to go back and apologize for overreacting too much.
Finally, he knew what he had to do.
"You're leaving us!?" Ozzy shouted as he stormed inside the room to find Rico carrying a bag wrapping around his now-healed shoulder. "What do you mean you're leaving us!? It's only been less than a week!"
"I have to go back to my trainer. He needs me." Rico sighed as he trudged himself out of the cabin where he rested. "It's dark and it's been far too long since I left him. I have to go back."
Ozzy opened his mouth to speak, but nothing came out. He had to accept Rico's departure for the sake of his own trainer.
"Well, guess I'll miss you then.." Ozzy sighed sadly, but as he opened his muzzle to say anything else, he stopped as a large pincer was placed against the beaver's shoulder.
"I'll still come back, but right now my trainer needs me." And finally with one last sentence, the gliscor jumps up and lets the breeze dance along him, letting the gliscor depart from WidowFrost. A few moments later, Rico disappeared into the distance.
Back at the campsite, Oakley was seen resting with Pugsley, while Penny on the other hand was outside, staring at the moonlight with regret in her eyes. She started growing worried ever since the gliscor's departure after the fight less than a week ago, and she started growing more regretful than before.
The snubbull refused to eat bigger meals ever since Pugsley had scolded her for arguing with Rico, causing him to fly off and to never come back. The pug on the other hand started growing even worried about her. He tried to have conversations, yet the snubbull refused to do so.
Letting out a sad sigh, Penny perks her ears up only to notice Oakley, slowly emerging out of the tent with a worried look on her face. "Bol?"
"Snuh.." The bulldog sighed sadly as Oakley grew closer to her. "Snuh, Snubbull."
Oakley explained to Penny that it was wrong to get into fights with other pokemon who are new to each other, because if so, they grow scared and run off without any reason why. The bulldog refused to reply, all she could do was to just let out sad sighs in response and refuse to elaborate even further. The bulldog opened her muzzle to speak, but soon paused as she noticed what looked like a vampire-like figure that shown against the moonlight.
It's shadow looked familiar, but as it grew closer and closer, it turns out to be a gliscor, heading straight towards the two pokemon.
Letting out a surprised screech, Penny runs off to hide behind Oakley, but the gliscor wasn't actually heading towards the two, it was heading towards where the trainer was sleeping in. Averting her eyes towards the gliscor that now landed on the ground, it then turns facing the bulldog, her face completely dumbfounded and shocked.
"SNUHH!" The snubbull would let out a horrified screech, but before the bulldog could do anything else, Oakley walked towards the gliscor and planted her muzzle against the bat's skin, letting her nose to the work. With one sniff, she then finally remembered who it was. It was the gligar she'd met before, but now it has evolved into a gliscor.
Penny still couldn't remember the gliscor heading towards their campsite, but as her memories flooded inside her mind, she finally remembered who it was. That same gligar she'd met after the attack, now fully evolved into a stronger and bigger gliscor.
Pugsley slowly emerged from his tent as he opened his muzzle to speak, only to stop as he came across what looked like a gliscor in front of him. Before he could bolt off running, memories of him and the same gligar he'd found flooded his mind, causing Pugsley to finally realize that the same orphaned bat hybrid had grown up to a stronger being.
"It really is you!" The pug's voice caused Rico to grow even more excited upon their reunion, "Look how big you've gotten! You're like a completely new gligar now!"
Amidst the reunion, Penny still avoided eye contact with the gliscor. Breaking the hug, Rico turned back towards the still-stressed Penny. "Gli?"
"Snuh.." Penny started, but instead of anger, her words started forming into an apology. "Snubbull, snuh. Snuhh, Snubbull.."
"I think she's saying she wanted to say sorry." Pugsley started,
"Snuhhbull." Finally, Penny apologized, and soon Rico accepted her apology. Despite the bat's size, the snubbull still managed to give him a hug afterwards. "Snubbull?"
"Gliscor." Rico responded, and finally the two started becoming friends again.
"Say..How about I'd keep ya' in a pokeball and give you a name?" Pugsley added, but the gliscor had other ideas. Grabbing a nearby stick off the ground, Rico started writing down his name onto the dirt. It wasn't prominent at first, but it took Pugsley a few moments to finally understand what he wrote. "Rico? Is that what you go by?"
Pugsley couldn't understand how he got the name, but all the gliscor could say was that he met a few friends during his departure. Grabbing an empty pokeball out of his bag, he then throws it up in the air, before it lands on Rico's head. It was a critical capture surprisingly, but it managed to catch the gliscor afterwards.
"Welcome to the team, Rico.."
