This is something spontaneous, and kinda made out of a reflex? Just that they aren't a lot of good SI's in the MHA fandom except cringe edgelord fics with AFO or something. It's pretty cliche, but yeah, that's the point. If you guys like it, I'll update it more.

Izuku first met Daigo when he was ten. The boy had moved into the neighborhood, to the house right next to the Midoriyas. His mom had been overjoyed after returning from visiting them.

Ms. Shirosagi was a single mother, the husband was out of the picture.

"Izuku," she says, watching him from the corner of her eye, "Why don't you go talk to Daigo? He's a big fan of heroes, just like you!"

Izuku knew who he was. A useless Deku. But he nodded, smiling as he knocked on the door of the Shirosagi's, only to be greeted by a tall, white–haired woman. She wore a white sweater, and a warm smile. It reminded him of mom's.

But the thing that caught his attention the most were her wings. They were two, large, avian shaped wings, with sharp feathers. Like Hawks.

"Hi!" he said, bowing politely. It was best to not ramble on about Quirks. Kaachan told him it was creepy, and Izuku didn't want to be creepy.

She smiled at him. "You must be Izuku, right?"

He nodded, doing his best to smile back.

A twinkle appeared in her eyes as she beckoned him into the house. "Daigo!" she yelled, winking at Izuku.

"Your mother told me you were a fan of heroes," she said. "Daigo is too, so maybe you two can be friends?"

"Okay," he said, smiling easily. Like Daigo would want to be friends with a quirkless nobody like him. He could hear a yelled out, "Coming!" before a boy ran down the stairs, stopping right next to Ms. Shirosagi before looking at Izuku.

And blinking.

Unlike his mother, he had spiky red hair, and a single white wing, with green spikes on its top. It was so cool. He wore a red t-shirt with an eagle on it, and the English for 'Freedom'.

"Hey," he said awkwardly.

Oh, Izuku had forgotten to introduce himself. "My name's Izuku Midoriya," he said breathlessly, "Is that wing your Quirk? Can you fly?Whydoesithave—" before Izuku realized he was rambling again, and ducked his head down.

"M' sorry," he hurriedly apologized, only for Daigo to burst into laughter.

"It's cool, man. But the wing—" the appendage in question fluttered about, "is my Quirk. Kind of obvious, right?"

Ms. Shirosagi hummed in amusement. "Why don't you two go upstairs and talk? I'll get you some snacks."

"Sure thing, mom," Daigo replied, dragging Izuku up the stairs, and pushing open the door to his room. Izuku blinked as he entered.

His room was filled with All Might merchandise, but Dagio's… there was only one poster related to hero's, and that was at the back. And it was of Endeavor. The rest of the room had a collection of old movie posters, or anime posters — Izuku saw a Yu-Gi–Oh! poster slung across one side of the room, while the other had a bookcase and desk.

His bed was on the other side, plain black comforter and bed sheets along with a dog pillow

"I see you've noticed my Endeavor merch," Daigo offered, grinning all the same, "I've got some Hawks action figures and t–shirts too, y'know? Birds of a flock better stick together."

"O–oh, I like All Might." Izuku replied.

"All Might?" he asked, scratching his chin in thought, "He's cool too."

"He's better than Endeavor," Izuku said, biting his chin after realizing what he said.

Daigo's wing twitched as he hummed quietly. "Call me Daigo," he said bluntly, leaning forward, "I hate honorifics."

"Oh, alright then Daigo!"

"You're right. All Might is better than Endeavor. But that isn't why I like him." Daigo elaborated, the boy's sharp blue eyes drawn to the poster. "It's because he still reaches for the number one spot, no matter what. That tenacity, that grit, that desire… Endeavor is my hero. I want to be like that, a hero that reaches the top."

"You want to be a hero?"

"Yeah, what about you Izuku?" Daigo asked.

"I want to be a hero too…" he muttered.

"That's epic, so what's your quirk man? Greenbean?"

Izuku's heart stopped. Looking at Daigo's gentle smile, and his kind eyes… the boy wondered what he'd say once he learned the truth.

"I'm quirkless…"

"Quirkless?" Daigo repeated, "Then you can be Batman!"

What.

"You t–think I can be a hero?"

"You'll need to work a ton, but I'm sure you can be a hero. Let me show you…" the redhead said, digging into one of his bookshelves, before withdrawing a weathered book. It was an English one, and Daigo flicked it open, revealing full–color art of a dark city, "This is Batman. He doesn't need any superpowers to beat up criminals!"

"He's a quirkless hero?" Izuku asked, mouth hanging open. He couldn't believe it— Daigo believed in him!

"That's right! All he needs is his brain and body to beat up the bad guy," Daigo explained, smiling readily. It was disarming, really. "I have some Japanese versions, if you want to read a few. I'm fluent in English."

"I'm fluent too…" Izuku said.

"It's kind of sad. None of my schools let me skip a grade, so they all forced me to sit through their mind–numbing English lessons. Plus, the accent."

"Accent?" Izuku asked, confused.

"Oh," Daigo said sheepishly, "My English is all American, so some people can't understand it… I sometimes have to do a Japanese accent on it just so they get it."

"Really?" Izuku said, in English this time.

"I'm not lying, greenie." Daigo answered back, in pure Yankee–speak.

Izuku sputtered in shock. "That sounds so American, Daigo!"

"Gives my teachers a hard time though, heh. I'm thinking of heading to the States to be a hero too, like All Might."

"Ah, I think I might stay here."

"I see,"

Daigo said, before switching back to Japanese, "So how come you know English? I learned it on my own, because it was fun."

"Oh, my dad works overseas…" Izuku didn't comment on why Daigo thought learning English of all things was fun, because there were some things that shouldn't be touched.

"So you picked it up? Makes sense."

The two continued talking, and Ms. Shirosagi even gave them some muffins. "They're Daigo's favorite," she said, winking at Izuku, "He's so American I wonder where he got it from… his English and tastes…"

"Mom!" Daigo whined, only noticing he had switched to English and blushing in embarrassment.

"Ah… Thank you!" Izuku said, turning his head to the side.

That day, Izuku made a new friend. His mom burst out into tears when she heard the news, and laughed at how Izuku spoke about Daigo and his antics.

"I'm so happy you made a friend, Izuku," she said through her tears.

"Mom!" Izuku cried out.

Yes, Izuku was happy. And he had some cool new comics to read!
