Fools in April: A parody of Fools in April from SpongeBob SquarePants with Total Drama characters.
Disclaimer for the series: Some (though far from all) chapters will contain moments of nudity or underwear due to the canon SpongeBob episodes' plots and gags, though it won't be anything that wouldn't happen in TD or SpongeBob. Ella was sleeping in her bed, wearing her nightgown as usual, with Mittens at the foot of it until her alarm suddenly woke her up, one minute earlier than usual. She shut it off, stretched, and then looked at it. "Oh, I must have set the alarm a minute early by mistake! Or perhaps it was just an April Fools prank… to me!" She giggled at her own antics before slipping off of the bed.
Mittens blinked in confusion and tilted his head, as if to ask a question, so Ella answered the unspoken inquiry.
"Today's April Fools Day!" She informed. "So long as the pranks don't hurt anyone, or their feelings, there's no problem at all with the holiday! It can actually be quite fun!"
She gave her cat some food and water in the opposing bowls by mistake. "Oh, my mistake! I seem to have given you the wrong things… Or did I?" She giggled as she removed some tape on the two bowls, revealing that she actually put them in the correct ones. "April fools! I suppose it truly is 'wet food' when you put it this way!"
Mittens gave a deadpan stare and rolled his eyes before lapping up some water.
She then changed out of her pajamas and into a fresh set of clothes, only for them to be inside out. "Oh, April fools to me… again!"
Mittens continued to be unamused. His owner simply giggled, turned her clothes the right way out, and affectionately petted her cat. She skipped into her kitchen and opened the fridge to get a drink, retrieving a massive pitcher of lemonade.
"Goodness, I don't know how I'll ever manage to drink all this before I go to work!" She grabbed a glass and poured the liquid into it, showing that the pitcher actually couldn't hold that much and was a mere optical illusion. "Oh, I see then!" She put the pitcher back in the fridge, and the back of it had a sticky note reading "April fools! :) -Ella from yesterday" on it.
Continuing to laugh at her own antics, the singer finished her drink, left her cup in the sink, and skipped out the door to head to work.
As she did, Dave saw her as he was opening the restaurant. "What could she be so excited about?" He asked nobody in particular. He then looked at the calendar, reading "April 1st."
"Oh great, it's April Fools…"
"Good morning, David!" Ella said in her singsongy way.
"Oh Ella! D-don't come near me, I have the… flu." He said in an unconvincing manner.
"Oh my! Wait, I get it! Oh, David, I'm glad you remembered what today is!"
"No wait, that wasn't, look I don't really like April Fools, and I'd prefer if it wasn't all you did around here."
Ella frowned a little, upset Dave wasn't as excited as she was, but remained the optimist.
"Oh, alright David, but I suppose I can still have fun today with other willing participants!"
As she says this, it is revealed she put a "Hug Me" note on her back.
"Today's going to be a long day." Dave sighed.
The clock is shown to skip a bit to later in the day, as a customer approaches Ella.
"Excuse me, could you tell me where the forks are?" An old lady inquired.
"Oh, they are right here." Ella responded, while gesturing to some utensils.
"But, those are forks."
A smile arose on Ella's face, as she giggled, the old lady realized she had been had, and had a bit of a chuckle too!
After sharing the laugh, the singer continued. "April Fools! You'll find what you're looking for right next to the forks!"
Soon enough, another patron needed some help from her.
"Hey, could you remake this? I asked for a couple of banana slices." A customer requested.
"Oh, my apologies! It hadn't been written on the order. Let me fix that for you in just a moment." Ella answered.
She went into the kitchen, and after a minute or so, she stepped back out with the order, giggling to herself. "Here you go!"
"Thanks!" The patron took the drink. "Say, what's so funny?"
"Oh, ah, no worries! I just heard a funny joke that I remembered."
The customer shrugged and took a drink, just making Ella laugh more.
"What's so funny?" They asked, making the singer burst into laughter. "What did you do to my drink?!"
"I…" Ella squeaked. "I…"
"You WHAT?!" The patron exclaimed, grabbing Ella by the blouse.
"You asked for a couple of banana slices, but I actually gave you three!" The princess continued giggling into her hands as the no longer aggressive patron released her.
"Hey, that is pretty funny!"
Dave just stared, not understanding how anyone would find that funny.
The day continued, Dave observing odd little things Ella considered jokes, but Dave himself didn't understand any of it. Soon the clock struck 4.
"Finally the last hour of the day, I sure could use a nice relaxing-" As soon as he sat down, he heard a farting sound, coming not from a customer, but from him.
After hearing the whoopee cushion, Dave couldn't take it anymore. "Alright that's enough!" He shouted. Ella clasped her hands together. "I've had it up to here with these silly pranks, can I please just go back to work?"
"Oh um, yes, David, I'll go back to work." Ella responded, much more timid than usual.
"Better." Dave said, although he didn't feel confident saying it.
Finally, the day was over, and Dave was getting ready to head home, when Ella popped back into his mind. "Okay I should say sorry." He thought aloud, and headed to the princess's residence.
"Come on Dave you can say sorry, not like you're asking a girl out." He said walking towards Ella's apartment. "...Don't call it that. She's taken. You get my point."
He then knocked on the door. "Ella? Are you there?"
"Hello, David." Ella greeted, peeking out of the crease in her door, her eyes glimmering a little.
"Look, about earlier, I realize I may have snapped and, well I mean look I don't like today but, you do and I kind of felt bad, so I came here to say." Dave sighed again, rubbing the back of his head. "I-I'm, sorry."
Ella then smiled, and opened the door, revealing Sammy, and some cake.
"Guess we were both April Fools today? Hmm, David?"
Ella then took him in and gave him a slice of homemade cake.
A/N: Happy April Fools! No, this episode isn't a prank, it's the actual April Fools episode. Now, this episode might be a little late for you readers but this is the April Fools special this year, hoping you all had a safe day today, cheers! We weren't trying to wait until April Fools to finish this, but things happened to go that way. Happy coincidence!
Sorry these episodes have been so short compared to the early episodes as well, but it's always better to write what feels right rather than artificially extend these things in my opinion.
