Destiny's POV

I felt the warmth of the sun on my face as I woke up the next morning. I slowly got out of my new bed and walked out the door and through the hallway. I actually went to check on Chip and Dale, and to my surprise, they were still asleep. I couldn't help but silently 'awwww' to myself. Those two looked so sweet and peaceful. I smiled and gently closed the door to their room. I also assumed Gadget was still asleep as well, but I didn't wanna take any chances.

As I made my way towards the living room, out of the corner of my eye, I saw Monterey and Zipper walking out of their quarters and into the living room as well. They saw me and gave me two waves. "Good morning Destiny love. You're up early. Did you sleep ok last night?" He asked. "Yes I did, thanks for asking Monterey." I replied. He flashed me a smile and walked over to the kitchen.

Just than Zipper flew over to me and landed on my shoulder. I chuckled as he hid his face a little bit. "Hey Zipper. How ya doin?" I asked the cyan colored fly. He slowly turned his head back to me and gave me a thumbs up. "That's good to hear." I beamed as he giggled. I than heard Monty say something to me. "You know, I was gonna start makin' breakfast. Care to help?" I looked up at them and grinned. "Absolutely Monterey." "Hehe please, you can call me Monty if you'd like to love" Monty said. I nodded as we entered the kitchen. I was soon hit with the obvious smell of Monty's favorite food, cheese. Now I will freely admit to you that I am huge fan of cheese myself but come on. Is that all this guy cares about in life is just cheese. You have so much more to live for than just a small block of cheddar. But frankly I didn't care that much. If he likes cheese than that's his thing. Anyways, once inside, I took a look at my surroundings. There was a makeshift stove and dishwasher, and cabinets filled with all sorts of silverware, cups and utensils of all shapes and sizes and of course the plates.

Monty's POV

I watched as Zipper went and helped out Destiny with getting the ingredients. I couldn't help but notice how kind she was to him. They looked like they were getting along. She's got such good manners.

Destiny's POV

"So, Monty, what's for breakfast? Let me guess, it's something involving cheese." "Actually, it isn't. We're havin' pancakes today" he said. "Sounds good. Lucky for you, I know how to make them" I said with a hint of pride in my voice. "Great. Well, I'll get an apron for ya and we'll start cookin." Once I'd put on the apron that Month gave me, which fit perfectly, and after Zipper and I gathered all the ingredients we needed, we set about making the pancakes.

After about fifteen minutes had passed, and Monty, Zipper and I had made enough pancakes for a whole week, Gadget, Chip and Dale all entered the kitchen. Gadget was all bright-eyes and bushy tailed, but the chipmunks were the exact opposite. Those two looked like they barely got any sleep last night. But they were awake nonetheless. "Good morning Monty." Gadget said. "Good morning Gadget love. I hope you're hungry. Destiny, Zippa and I made some pancakes for ya."

"Sounds good Monty. I am pretty hungry." The mouse then turned her attention to me and smiled. "Morning Destiny. Did you sleep well last night?" I let out a slight chuckle at her question. "I did. But those two definitely didn't." I answered, pointing my thumb at the pair of yawning chipmunks. The four of us all shared a laughed as Chip and Dale were rubbing their eyes, still trying to get the tiredness off their faces.

Once they were awake enough to where they could eat, Chip, Dale and Gadget took their seats while Monty, Zipper and I set the table and broke out the pancakes we'd made earlier. I saw that Dale was practically bouncing up and down in his seat, eagerly waiting for his.

After I'd said good morning to both chipmunks, we dug into our breakfast. And it was delicious. The pancakes were warm and fluffy. I was finally eating real food again. After years of barely eating anything at the orphanage since it was mostly just what in my opinion was garbage. This was real, homey, good food.

After a mostly silent breakfast, Monty took care of the dishes and thanked me again for helping him. I then went back to my room and got changed. Right after I'd put on my shirt, there was a knock at my door. "Yes?" I asked. It opened to revel Chip standing in the doorway. "Good morning Destiny. I'm uh…sorry I didn't greet you earlier. I was still pretty tired, but I don't know why. What about you? Did you sleep well?"

I nodded at the chipmunk, and he smiled back at me. "That's good. Well, I hope you're ready for today. We're gonna be having some visitors come over. Now I know that they might be a little shocked at seeing a small human, but trust me, there're really nice. I think you'll get along with them just fine.

Destiny's POV

Visitors? This should be interesting. I wonder what kind of 'visitors' he's talking about, I thought. While we waited for them to arrive, I walked over and sat down on the conch. I was soon joined by Dale and Gadget who were sitting on either side of me.

"Hiya Destiny. Whatcha doin'?"

"Oh. Just waiting for these visitors. Whoever they are." I sighed. Gadget smiled and patted me on the shoulder. "Relax Destiny. There're very friendly. You'll be fine. They might be a little surprised and unsure at first, but they'll understand, I'm sure."

I nodded and started to relax.

After a few minutes, the doorbell rang, and Chip got up to go answer it. He opened the door and in stepped two squirrels. Both girls.

The first one was taller and looked about as old as me. She had no shoes, even though it was obvious, a pair of blue jeans with the ankles rolled up, and a pink button down shirt.

But the thing that stood out to me was her massive bushy tail she possessed.

The other one was smaller then her older counterpart.

"Oh by the way, Tammy, this is Destiny. She's a human that became small about two days ago and we're trying to find a way to get her back to normal." Chip told her.

The squirrel's eyes were wide. I could tell she'd never seen someone like me before.

"Wow. I…don't think I'd ever seen anything like this before."

I felt a slight blush form on my cheeks as I turned my attention to the female squirrel. "Thanks…I-uh…I get that a lot." I replied, flashing the talking squirrel a smile.

"I bet. Nice to meet you Destiny. My names Tammy and this here's my little sister Bink."

I looked down at the sister in question. Her eyes were sparkling with wonder and innocence. She smiled at me and giggled. I knelt down and patted her head making the child laugh. "Nice to meet you guys."

With the intros out of the way, I went and sat down on the couch again. This time I sat next to Chip.

"So Destiny, where are you from?"

Oh boy. Why did that have to be the first question? Especially from someone I'd just met?

Thankfully Chip came to my defense. "Um…she doesn't really wanna talk about that right now. It's a bit uh…complicated for her." The squirrel's face fell a bit but she ultimately nodded.

"Ok. I understand. I'm sorry Destiny."

"No, it's ok. I mean I've only know you two for a few minutes." Tammy nodded in agreement and asked me a more non-personal question. "So, how exactly did you become small?"

"Well…"

I proceeded to tell both Tammy and Bink everything. How I came across Nimnnal's device in Central Park. Although I did leave out the part about the orphanage.

The two squirrels were utterly amazed at my story. "Wow. That's incredible." Tammy said in awe.

"I suppose. I'm curious though. How do you guys know the Rescue Rangers?"

The squirrel told me that not that long ago, their home was totaled by the Ranger after they accidentally crashed. Furious as she was, her mother said that they could make up for the unexpected wreckage by 'babysitting'.

Over time, she'd started to grow jealous of Gadget, thinking that the mouse had a huge crush on Chip. Tammy had tried to impress Chip multiple times by proving that she could be a hero like him, but he wasn't having it and said that he didn't need her. That she wasn't a rescue ranger.

Jeez Chip. That's a little harsh don't ya think?

She went on to explain that after her and Bink ran away to retrieve this golden artifact called the Maltese Mouse, they were both captured by this crime boss by the name of Fat Cat.

Fat Cat? Who the heck is that, I though to myself.

Anyways. She told me that Chip and the Rangers were able to save her and her sister from Fat Cat's clutches and take back the Maltese Mouse. And in the end, she and Chip resolved their differences.

I gave Tammy an impressed look.

"Amazing. At least you guys didn't get killed." I told the squirrel. She nodded her head in agreement. "Yeah. That sure was one wild adventure wasn't it Chip?"

"It sure was Tammy."

The next few hours came and went. Gadget had gone off to her workshop to work on one of her…well, 'gadgets'. Chip, Dale, Monty, Zipper and I all stayed and indulged in conversation with Tammy and I got to play and cuddle with Bink for a little while. She was so absolutely adorable. I even got to boop her on the nose which turned her into a straight up giggle factory.

Eventually, the time came for them to head home. As she waved goodbye, Tammy invited me to stop by her house sometime. I happily obliged and the two squirrels took their leave.

I went and checked the time. It was almost 6:00pm. Man, time flies. That's when I started thinking back to Gadget. She'd already told me that she was a professional inventor. But what did these 'inventions' looked like. I decided to go and ask Chip if I could go and see her. Maybe get at least one more thing in for the day before I go to bed, I thought. He said yes but that I needed to knock first so that I would know if she was busy or not.
