A/N: ...if you can see this, do let me know.
I've made up my mind; with the site being broken AGAIN -no notifications for ANYTHING- and short of a miracle, I'm placing a pause on updates for the big stories. Which is a shame; because I had a bunch of them raring to go but I'm not sure if anyone can see them, and that fear is holding me back like nothing else.
Sure, reviews appear on the site just fine, but not in any of our inboxes. Meaning I have to look all over just to find them. Its driving me up a wall and into the ceiling.
As ever, I own no references, quotes, themes or memes. They're tributes to legends far greater than I.
I'm just a humble author trying to make his way in this wild, wacky world, one word at a time.
Time and feedback will determine what remains a story and what doesn't. Simple as that.
In other words...the fate of this is up to YOU, the reader. Doooo let me know~!
You all know what this chapter is poking at, given what's happened to RWBY.
"The end isn't the end; only the beginning of something new.
~?
What Happens Next
"What happens when we die?"
Naruto winced; if only because that question struck a little too close to home. "I don't know."
Drawing himself down, he sat beside Ruby on the hill to watch the sunset. What else could he do?
...oh." her voice wavered a little, and he glimpsed the tears in her eyes. "Could you stay, then? I don't want to be alone right now."
He held her close. "Whatever you need...
She snuggled close to him and in return, he held her tight.
It felt like the end of an era; and in a sense, it was. How did you tell someone the universe was ending? Answer? You didn't. This world was in limbo, and that pained him, but it was still alive. If he died here he'd probably go back to his world, but her...and her team...no, they still had time. They could still save people, still gather the relics and change their fate. And barring that, if it came to extinction, to the end of days...he'd fight. Tooth and nail and claw and semblance and chakra and everything he had to keep Remnant from being erased.
Ruby's smile was something to protect.
He'd fight to keep it that way.
No matter what.
A/N: Aaaaand scene.

Sorry,
