Elsewhere in the city, two male kats were digging for supposed 'treasure', hopping that the museum would pay them handsomely.

"Maybe this wasn't such a good idea, Tom. This old boneyard is supposed to be cursed" the one with the shovel said, his voice a little shaky.

The kat named Tom stopped what he was doing and frowned at his digging partner.

"Eh, what are ya, Jack, a scaredy-kat? We find somethin' valuable, and the museum'll pay big bucks for it! So shut up and keep diggin'!" He said.

They continued digging until Jack, the kat with the pickaxe, hit something hard. Tom gasped.

It was a chest. And whatever was in there was going to make them the richest kats in Megakat City.

"Hey, I think I've hit paydirt! Gimme a hand here!" he said with excitement.

They put down their tools and lifted the old wooden chest up from the dirt and set it on the ground.

"There's probably treasure inside" Tom said with a grin as he picked up the shovel and attempted to pry the chest open.

He was eventually able to open it, but suddenly, a great wind spewed out and a bright green light emitted from inside the chest.

Both kats began to cough cause of the dust, and as the light faded, they both looked at what was inside the chest only for their faces to turn from excited to utterly confused.

Laying in the chest was a small goblin gnome-like creature. He had orange skin, or bones rather said, wore a purple hooded robe and one of his eyes was gone.

"Ugliest treasure I've ever seen" Jack grumbled in disappointment.

But Tom noticed that the being was clutching a gold chained pocket watch in his hands, as if trying to protect it.

"Yeah, well this old watch has gotta be worth plenty of-"

He was just about to take the watch when to both his and Jack's surprise, the being opened his eyes.

"What!?" Tom exclaimed.

The two kats started to back away as the creature jumped out of the chest and stared at them, still holding the watch.

"Wh–Who are you" Jack asked.

"I am the Pastmaster. Imprisoned in here for 800 years" he said, gesturing to his former resting place.

"I told you this place was cursed" Jack said. Tom looked like he still didn't believe any of this mumbo jumbo.

"At last, I'm finally free" the Pastmaster declared as he lifted his watch into the air causing a magenta light to come out of it.

He then darted towards the clock tower. "Now to find my book of spells."

"L-l-let's get outta here" Jack stammered, clearly scared. But Tom remained determined to get his pay.

"No way! We're gonna sell that old gnome to the museum, watch and all" he said. They picked up their digging tools and marched to the clock tower where the Pastmaster was searching for his spell book.

He wasn't having much luck though and groaned in frustration. "Curse the council! My book isn't where I hid it!"

That's when he heard the voice of the kat that found him from behind. "You're comin' with us Pastmaster."

But the Pastmaster simply smirked at them. "You foolish mortals! Even without my spell book I have enough power to deal with vermin like you!"

Beams of light shot out of the watch, hit some skeleton bones on the ground, and sent them into the earth only for them to reappear reanimated.

Tom and Jack shared looks of disbelief and terror as the skelekats stalked towards them.

Despite their attempts to destroy the bony corpses, they were overpowered and had their tools snatched from their grasps.

Terrified, they fled the grounds and climbed over the stone wall. The Pastmaster's minions tried to chase after them only to be stopped by their new leader.

"Let them go! I have more important work for you. Start digging and find my book of spells" he commanded.

The skelekats obeyed and began to search for the Pastmaster's spell book.

As they were digging, an Enforcer helicopter appeared above them, shining a light down on them.

"You are violating a restricted area! Put down those shovels. You're under arrest" the pilot known as King exclaimed from the loudspeaker.

But the skelekats didn't care and continued on with their objective. Unbeknownst to both them and the Enforcers, the Pastmaster was hiding behind some rocks.

"Do those modern fools think some infernal machine can stop me? Attack!"

As the chopper lowered, the skelekats started hitting it with the shovel and pickaxe, even though they weren't putting a dent in it.

"Do we read these things their rights" King's copilot Burge asked him.

King picked up the loudspeaker again. "You have the right to remain buried."

He then began to shoot the chopper's machine guns at the reanimated corpses, blowing them both apart.

The heli landed and Burge the copilot got out to inspect the damage.

"Huh These bones ain't movin' now" he said, kicking away one of the broken skulls.

Then the chest caught his eye.

"What's this thing" he asked King through the comms. "I don't know. Headquarters wants us to take it over to the Museum of History" King responded.

"Roger" Burge said as he closed the lid to the chest.

The Pastmaster watched from his hiding spot as the two Enforcers picked it up and placed it in a net so it could be delivered to the museum.

"Perhaps this museum has my book" he told himself. Determination a plenty, he secretly hitched a ride on the side of the chopper.

As the copter flew over the moonlit skies of Megakat City, the Pastmaster began to observe the great metropolis. "So, this is what's been accomplished in eight-hundred years" he said.

"I want the Dark Ages back. And when I find my Tome of Time, I will arrange just that" he said, cackling evilly.

Back at the SWAT Kats lair, Razor and T-Bone were competing to beat the record time set on the centrifuge while Chloe watched from the control room. Chance had placed her in charge of being the timekeeper for them with a stopwatch he'd given her.

He and Jake had also shown her the buttons that make the centrifuge stop and go and that these were the only buttons she was supposed to press. Chance made it clear to the human girl that when he said 'stop', that she was to stop both the centrifuge and timer at the same time.

She didn't even bother moving her eyes and head to try and follow the thing since it was going way to fast. Chance had set it to Mach 5.

After a few seconds Chance yelled for Chloe to push the stop button, which she did, and report on the amount of time. "How long was that Chloe" he asked the human girl.

"Ten seconds" she told the blond tabby. Chance pumped his fist in victory.

"Ha! New personal best! Ten seconds at Mach 5. Thanks squirt" he said proudly while he playfully ruffled her hair. Jake meanwhile was regaining his consciousness having shortly passed out from the number of Gs.

"Yeah, well, if you say so. Of course… I didn't see it" he replied.

"Sure, you didn't see it, you were out like like a blown engine" Chance told him causing Chloe to snicker in the back.

"Hey, then how do I know you made ten seconds? I mean, you could've passed out too, and just made it up to yank my tail" he said trying to come up with a reason as to why he lost.

"That does it! Two outta three" T-Bone purposed.

"You're on."

Before they could begin, Chloe chimed in. "Why don't you just admit it Razor? T-Bone can clearly take more Gs than you" she said.

The cinnamon kat started blushing while Chloe and T-Bone giggled in amusement.

"I'll believe it when I see it kiddo" Razor replied, taking his turn to ruffle Chloe's hair.

Chloe felt much more at ease with the two SWAT kats, especially Razor. He was exhibiting father like qualities far better than that of her own dad back home.

Meanwhile, over at the Megakat City Museum of National History, Deputy Mayor of Megakat City Callie Briggs and Dr. Sinian were studying the chest that the Enforcers and brought with them.

"And so, when the museum re-opens, our new exhibit will trace the evoloution of Megakat City from prehistoric swamp to urban sprawl" Sinian stated.

Callie was writing everything down on her note pad for the major of Megakat City, Major Manx.

"This should be enough for me to write the mayor's press release. Thanks, Dr. Sinian. Will that be in the exhibit" the deputy major asked.

"Oh, just came in, but it's definitely a part of history. The darker part. These inscriptions date back to the Dark Ages" the doctor stated clearly fascinated with its origins.

"Really? Any idea what was inside?" Callie asked.

"Jewels, perhaps. Who knows what our ancestors might have buried in here" Sinian replied.

Meanwhile, the Pastmaster had infiltrated the museum and was wandering around the halls observing the various exhibits. But his main focus was finding his spell book.

"Here the past is dead. I prefer my past alive" he muttered.

"Hey! How'd you get in here" came the voice of a security guard behind him.

"The museum is closed until further-"

He gasped and shook in fear when the Pastmaster lifted his hood to revel his horrid face. "And I say it's open" he demanded.

He then used his magic pocket watch to make one of the museum's exhibits, a scary looking mountain lion, come to life.

The creature growled at the frightened guard. The guard started to back away from the animal until he bumped into a dinosaur skeleton.

"NO!" he yelled as the bones fell right on top of him.

Callie and Dr. Sinian heard the crash and looked at each other with worry. "What was that?" Callie asked. Without another word, she and Dr. Sinian went to investigate.

When they arrived at the scene, there're eyes went wide when they saw the collapsed exhibit. Sinian put her paw to mouth in shock.

"Oh, good heavens. One of the exhibits has fallen." Sinian exclaimed putting her hands over her mouth.

Then Callie turned around and saw reanimated creature the Pastmaster had brought to life. "One of the exhibits is alive!" Callie yelled.

The Deputy Mayor and the doc shared looks of fresh terror as they fled from the beast, while the Pastmaster continued his search for his book.

A while later, he entered the room that the two female kats were in earlier and aggressively swiped off the science equipment on the table. "Where is my book" he growled before he came across Mrs. Briggs's purse.

He wasted no time digging through its contents, even eating the Deputy Mayor's lipstick and getting some on his face but he didn't care.

One of the articles he through on the floor was the device that Callie used to contact the SWAT Kats which immediately started beeping.

Back at base, Chloe's thoughts about which kat was gonna win were interrupted by the sound of a red blinking light on the wall and a loud alarm that echoed throughout the lair.

She was about to stop the centrifuge, but T-Bone beat her to it. Once the machine came to a stop, he hopped out and walked over to the phone below the red light and picked it up.

"T-Bone here. What's happening Mrs. Briggs? Mrs. Briggs, do you copy?"

But there was no response. And to make it worse, the creature that the Pastmaster reanimated, had found the device and made short work of it, shredding it to tiny pieces with its teeth.

T-Bone clenched his teeth and winced at the loud piping sound coming from the other end. "Sounds like big trouble" he said hanging the phone back up.

At that point Chloe, with the watch still in her hand, made her way over to the SWAT Kat.

"What is it T-Bone? What's wrong" she asked the blond furred kat. "It's our friend. Her names Callie Briggs. She's the Deputy Mayor of Megakat city, and right now…she's in trouble."

As he walked up to his colleague who had passed out for the second time in a row, he retrieved the stopwatch that he'd given Chloe and looked at the time.

And he was quite pleased with the results.

After T-Bone and Chloe had woken up Razor via a bucket of water, the cinnamon tabby jolted awake.

"What" he mumbled as he shook his head of any access water. "Up and at 'em partner. It's Callie" T-Bone replied.

"Oh, and by the way, eleven seconds at Mach 5" he gloated while he thanked Chloe for all her help.

Razor was disappointed that he had lost the bet, but that wasn't important. What mattered was that Callie was ok.

The two kats ran over to the hanger with Chloe lagging behind them, but before they got ready to takeoff, Razor walked over to Chloe, knelt down so that the two were leval, and placed his hands on her shoulders.

"Alright Chloe. T-Bone and I are gonna go rescue Mrs. Briggs. But don't worry, we'll be back before you know it." The human girl nodded at her furry friend.

Then Razor's face turned a bit more serious. "However, since your gonna be here by yourself for a while, I got some rules I want you to fallow, ok?" Chloe nodded again.

"Rule 1: Do not touch anything in this lair unless either me or T-Bone are with you."

"Rule 2: Do not play with anything in this lair that might cause a mess or injure you."

"Rule 3: Do not ever under any circumstances leave the parts shop and venture out into the city. We wouldn't want any bad to happen to you."

"Ok Razor. I pinky promise."

The SWAT Kat wrapped his pinky around her own and smiled. "Atta girl. Remember Chloe, be good." he said patting her on the shoulder.

"I will" she called back rather loudly as T-Bone had already fired up the Turbokat. Razor took his spot behind the gunner controls and signaled for T-Bone to take off.

Chloe watched as the huge jet lowered onto the ramp and looked down at Razor and T-Bone. Both kats flashed her a thumbs up which she gladly returned before covering her ears from the roaring of the engines.

The jet zoomed up the ramp and took to the skies of Megakat City.

As they entered the city T-Bone was looking for where Callie might be. "Got a fix on Callie's signal?"

"Roger" Razor responded. "Megakat City Museum of History."

While the SWAT Kats set their course to the Museum, Callie and Dr. Sinian were on the run from the Pastmaster and his four-legged minion. "We can get out through the garage" Sinian yelled.

Back outside, the Turbokat hovered over the building.

"Seems pretty quiet" T-Bone said as he landed the jet. Suddenly the door burst open to revel the faces of Callie and Sinian.

The Deputy Major and the Doc were able to close the door, but not even a second later, the saber-toothed creature rammed through the door, sending the girls off the roof while it let out a fierce roar.

"Quiet huh?"

Thankfully, the Callie and Sinian were still alive, hanging on to a pipe while trying to avoid falling to their deaths. However, the pipe started to come loose as the girls hung on for dear life.

The creature sprinted towards the Turbokat and jumped on top of it, locking eyes with its new prey. It tried to open the cockpit but Razor had other plans for it.

"Popping canopy…now!" He pressed one of the buttons on his control panel and launched the beast backward. It hit the wall with a loud thud and fell to the ground.

"Bingo!"

T-Bone got out of the Turbokat and ran over to the terrified Deputy Major and Doctor. "Let me give you a hand ladies" he said, grabbing them both by the arms and lifting them up with his incredible strength.

With the girls back on solid ground T-Bone and Razor turned their attention back to the beast who had regained consciousness and got in a fighting stance.

T-Bone did the same, baring his claws and fangs at it before Razor shot it with the cement machine guns, pinning it to the wall until it stopped moving all together.

"Thanks Razor, but I think I could've taken him."

"Just makin' Sure the cement machine gun was operational."

Razor joined T-Bone and the girls as they looked at the once moving exhibit. "Whoa, exhibits are gettin' kinda lifelike, aren't they" he said, getting a closer look.

That's when the sound of sirens came reached their ears. It was Commander Feral and his Enforcers. "Looks like the Enforcers are here, late as usual" T-Bone said.

It'd been a full hour and already Chloe was starting to get bored. She'd climbed the ladder and back into the kitchen. Razor had instructed her earlier to keep the big metal door at the front of the place closed at all times.

The little human girl wandered aimlessly through the hall when her stomach started grumbling. She was getting hungry. So, she went to the kitchen and opened up the fridge and peered inside.

She obviously couldn't reach the food at the top given her small height, but luckily, a smile came to her face when she found another can of that delicious milk. She took it and closed the fridge door.

She then entered Jake's room where her suitcase and sport bag were and pulled out one of her extra granola bars. She still had a few more, but not much left.

She took her snack to the living room and plopped down on the couch. She opened the and took a sip of the milk.

The human girl looked around the room before she noticed a tv remote on the coffee table. Her eyes lit up.

I wonder what's on tv in this world?

Meanwhile, the Pastmaster had finally found his mystical spell book. He wasted no time breaking the glass with his bony fist and took the book into his hands once again.

"My Tome of Time. Eight hundred years is far to long to be separated from such power."

He then lifted his spell book high into the air as light radiated from it.

"Only a sorcerer's dark power could've brought these ancient bones back to life. It must have been the Pastmaster." Sinian explained.

Then Callie pointed to a small figure exiting the Museum. "If you mean that weird little guy in the hood, why don't you just asked him?"

"Oh no! He's stolen an ancient spell book!" Sinian gasped.

As the Pastmaster made his way out of the museum, a nearby Enforcer by the name of Sgt. Talon spotted him. "All right buddy, hand it over" he ordered.

The Pastmaster opened the book and turned to the page of the creature he wanted to summon. "The Tome of Time belongs to ME" he growled.

"Hear the spell of this immortal, send this creature through the portal."

He lifted the book into the air as bolts of light flew from the pages and shot a purple colored beam through the air and into the sky before it vanished and spawned a massive vortex cloud.

Suddenly, the very creature that the Pastmaster had summoned fell through the portal with an ugly snarl, showing its razor sharp teeth. (No pun intended)

It hit the earth with a thundering crash, landing on the Sargent's car and creating an explosion.

"It's a Megasaurus Rex" Sinian shrieked.

Sgt. Talon sprinted away from the massive beast.

It knelt down and the Pastmaster jumped into its palm as they moved in towards the city.

"Out of my way you fools" he cackled. "I command the past, and your future looks bleak."

As the Pastmaster set his sights on Megakat City, T-Bone and Razor climbed back into the Turbokat while Callie and Sinian waved at them from the roof. "Hang tight. We'll take care of this" T-Bone said as the creature was beginning to wreak the city.

"Let's kick some tail."

Chloe had already given up after the fifth channel. There was just nothing good on tv. At this point, she figured it was probably best to just get some extra sleep and wait for Razor and T-Bone to return from their 'mission'.

Suddenly, she felt the floor begin to vibrate. She quickly went and look out the window. Her eyes shrank in terror. It was a massive beast, scarier than any monster that she thought was under her bed at night.

It was pale green colored and scaly and had massive claws. Yellow eyes that could make even the strongest man get goosebumps.

Her small body froze. She could've sworn she saw the creature snap its head in her direction. She could feel its yellow eyes almost make her eyes look like they were going to melt.

She screamed, ran back to Jake's room and dove under his bed, hoping that this creature wasn't real. Hoping that the creature wouldn't find her.

"Octopus missiles, away." Razor yelled. He pressed the button and two missiles swerved through the air but the Megasaur swung its tail and shattered them with ease.

It hit the missiles with so much force, that the one of the pieces scraped the bottom of the Turbokat sending the jet out of control.

"It…just…kicked our tails" T-Bone groaned as he tried to keep the jet steady.

The jet ended up flying into the vortex the Pastmaster created and disappeared from public view.

"The SWAT Kats!" Sinian gasped.

"They're gone!" Callie exclaimed.

"Now who will save Megakat City?" Sinian cried as the Megasaur continued on its rampage.

T-Bone was still able to miniver the Turbokat through the portal. Eventually, the SWAT Kats exited the portal where they found that things were oddly…prehistoric.

"C'mon baby…Gotcha!"

In the back, Razor was asleep again but woke up just in time. "Uhh, T-Bone, I have a feeling we're not in Megakat City anymore" he groaned.

"Yeah sleepin' beauty, looks like that giant lizard smashed us into the past." T-Bone replied. But they bigger problems on the hands. The fuel line on the Turbokat had broken loose.

"Any idea how to get back?" T-Bone asked.

"Well, I've got a better question. How does a jet stay in the air without fuel?"

"Answer, it doesn't" T-Bone replied as he noticed that the fuel needle was in the empty range.

The jet crash landed onto the surface and luckily stopped before it fell into the river. The cockpit opened up and Razor readied his toolkit.

"Well, I'd better get to work on fixing that torn fuel line." T-Bone smiled weakly at his colleague. "Fine. The closest gas station is only a million years away" he sighed in dejection.

Razor didn't even get the chance to begin his repairs as some new creatures rose their heads up from underwater. Razor quickly sat back down and closed the cockpit.

"Ejectors" Razor shouted.

"Engaged!" T-Bone pressed the button and the two kats and their seats sprang from the Turbokat, sending the long necks to fall back into the river.

"I guess we showed them" T-Bone said with a smile.

"Affirmative, but we have to show them" Razor shouted, pointing to a fleet of winged beasts coming right at them.

Oh Chloe, I hope you're ok.

Screaming, shouting and explosions filled the streets of Megakat City. The Pastmaster and his reptilian servant stormed through the city, destroying every obstacle that stood in their way.

The Pastmaster chuckled wickedly as the Megasaur approached a squadron of Enforcer cars in front of them.

"Fire!"

The Enforcers obeyed and launched a flurry of rockets at the scaly beast, but it was left completely unscathed.

Up atop the beast's head, the Pastmaster was looking through his book. "Aha, there is a way to destroy this modern monstrosity called Megakat City, and bring back the Dark Ages."

Just then, another Enforcer car arrived on the scene. It belonged to one Commander Feral, leader of the Enforcers.

"It's no use sir" one of his soldiers said. "We've thrown everything at that lizard."

"I'm surprised those meddling SWAT Kats aren't here" Feral replied while clutching his baton. "They got taken out early sir."

"Really? Well, we can handle this. Launch Gas Grenades." Feral commanded.

"Yes sir."

As the Megasaur was bombarded and ultimately uninjured by the constant barrage of rocket fire, that Pastmaster found the page he was looking for. "The spell must be cast from the tallest clock tower in the land. Once that was my tower. But now…"

His little monologue was cut short by the sight of gas, courtesy of Commander Feral and the Enforcers. They also happen to be standing near the Megakat City Tar Pits.

The Megasaur stepped into the tar and started to lose its balance and fell on its face. "You stupid beast" the Pastmaster growled.

"There're not going anywhere" Feral said.

"Get that spell book from the Pastmaster, or we're all still in danger" Sinian cried, but Feral was quick to rebuke her. "I give the orders around here" he bellowed.

Callie then added on. "Feral, Dr. Sinian knows what she's talking about. She's the curator of the museum."

The Commander sighed in defeat. "All right. Throw a net over that guy."

Standing on the beast's snout, the Pastmaster found another band of creatures he could summon. "Hear the spell of this immortal, send these creatures through the portal."

And soon enough, they came flying through the vortex and grabbed the Pastmaster just as the net was released. "Too little too late Feral" Callie sneered. The Commander ignored the Deputy Major and broke out his comms.

"This is Feral. Bring me chopper backup."

"Yes that clock tower will do nicely" the Pastmaster grinned. The tower he was heading to was Megakat City Hall, home to both Deputy Major Briggs and the Major of Megakat City, Major Manx who was currently spending his free time playing golf in his office.

"He's heading for City Hall!" Callie yelled.

The winged fleet took the Pastmaster up to the top of City Hall and set him down on the balcony.

Meanwhile, Razor and T-Bone were still being pursued by their attackers. "Spider missiles, now!" The missiles were successful in taking down the flying beasts but then some others took their places. That's when Razor had an idea. "Bingo! T-Bone, follow me." The place he was flying to was a massive, and active volcano.

"Into a live volcano?! Razor, you're crazier than I am." T-Bone shouted.

They entered the Volcano with the flyers right on their tails. "Oxygen masks, now!" Razor called.

"Lucky for us those leather wings don't have gas masks" he added. Eventually, the flyers lost control and fell into the red-hot lava.

"Smells like prehistoric fried chicken." T-Bone grunted as the two SWAT Kats emerged from the volcano unharmed. Unfortunately, their ejectors had run out of fuel. But thankfully the deployed their parachutes just in time.

"Volcano hoppin' was kinda fun, but I don't wanna spend the rest of my nine lives in dinosaurville." T-Bone said.

Razor flashed a smile. "Affirmative, and I've got an idea that just might get the Turbokat back in the air."

"Ugh, I just hope Chloe's safe." T-Bone said with a sigh.

"Yeah, I hope so too buddy. I hope so too."

Feral finally received the copper backup he'd requested. "Let me blast that gnome and his buzzards off of there" he said from the cockpit of his own helicopter.

But Major Manx quickly shut him down. "I give the orders around here Feral, and you're not going to blow up my city hall, until I know who we're dealing with, and what he wants."

Right when he hung up the phone, Callie and Sinian entered his office. "He's an 800 year old sorcerer from the Dark Ages." Callie told him.

The Major facepalmed. "Perfect. Well, don't just stand there. Get up to the tower and find out what he wants!"

Razor was just about finished with repairing the damaged Turbokat. "Fuel tanks are modified." "Give me some gas" he called out to T-Bone who was standing next to volcano and blew a small hole into the side of it.

"You really think this is gonna work?"

"Well theoretically, the natural volcanic gas mixture should get us off the ground. Or blow us up."

"Alas it's too late. When this clocktower strikes noon, my Dark Age city will return, and your Megakat City will be no more" the Pastmaster declared as he pointed his watch at the swirling vortex, shooting purple lightning at the circle of clouds.

But his thoughts were interrupted by Callie. "Wait! The Mayor has authorized me to give you anything you want! Money, a parade in your honor!" She yelled from the wind that was starting to pick up.

The Pastmaster looked back at the Deputy Major and grinned. "How generous. But I'm already getting what I want. A return to the past" he said, lifting book in the air once more to complete his ritual.

Sinian glanced over at Callie. "Our only hope is to destroy that book."

"And we're running out of time" Callie said.

The girls tried to run at the Pastmaster and try to grab his book but he easily used his watch and knocked the two female kats inside. "You're really going to enjoy the Dark Ages." With that, he slammed the door.

"Guess it's up to Feral now, especially without the SWAT Kats." Callie sighed disparately.

She didn't care if the ground shaking had stopped, Chloe was still bunkered down underneath Razor's bed. Images of the two SWAT Kats kept flooding her mind. But if anything, it only made her more scared.

She started crying out for Jake and Chance, hoping that they were still alive, out there saving the world. Tears were streaming down her face as the human girl curled up even tighter.

"Maybe we should've tried the 'unleaded' volcano" T-Bone sarcastically joked. "Well, at least we didn't blow up." Razor replied.

They'd just fired up the jet when those two nosy long necks came back for another round. "Feeding time already guys?" T-Bone groaned as the Turbokat lifted up into the air.

"Sorry, SWAT Kat ain't on the menu" he said, closing the cockpit door.

The Turbokat blasted through the skies. "T-Bone! Looks like another one of those time holes is opening."

Back in Megakat City, the place was almost back to looking how it did in the Dark Ages. Major Manx, Deputy Major Briggs and Dr. Sinian We're standing at the foot of city hall.

"Feral, you've got only three minutes to blast that sorcerer out of the clocktower!" Manx shouted over the comms. "My pleasure. Fool should've given the order an hour ago."

"Get them" the Pastmaster called his winged fleet of flyers.

They did so and charged towards Feral's choppers. The Enforcers fired everything they had, but the flyers, they were but small toys, and they got picked off like flies.

One of them hit Feral's copter, resulting in him crashing into the Major's office. "My Office!" Manx exclaimed while pieces of debris rained down upon him and the girls.

The Pastmaster grinned and cackled as he admired his good progress. "It won't be long now" he said glancing back at the clock which was about to strike 12.

Then suddenly, the Turbokat emerged from the ever expanding vortex.

"We're back."

"The SWAT Kats" Callie exclaimed happily.

"Looks like our city's having an identity crisis." Razor said.

"SWAT Kats, you have only one minute to blast the Pastmaster out of the City Hall clocktower." Callie called out through the comms. "Who says we can't fight city hall" Razor declared.

They managed to down a few of the Pastmaster's minions.

"Nice flying, T-Bone. Hey, I didn't pass out, I…T-Bone. Wake up buddy. We need a pilot now!" Razor yelled.

Sure enough, his colleague regained his conscious and control of the Turbokat. "Why didn't you eject" he asked.

Razor grinned. "And miss the look on you and Chloe's faces? No way!"

"We'll worry about that kiddo later. Right now, we've got a city to save."

"They're too late" Manx yelped.

Then Razor shot his missile at the perfect moment. It hit the clock tower, landing right in between the minute and hour hands.

"Time's up" the Pastmaster growled. But his celebrations were premature as the beast he was riding on lost its grip and the two fell towards the portal.

"Nooooooooooo" the Pastmaster cried out before he and the beast were out of sight. His book had been torn to shreds via the Turbokat.

"I wish they'd got back in time to save my office." Major Manx said completely downtrodden.

"I guess the Tome of Time won't be making it into the new exhibit. But, at least we don't have to worry about the Pastmaster anymore." Sinian replied.

The three kats watched as the Turbokat soared through the skies and into the sunset.

Back at base, Razor and T-Bone changed back into their mechanic uniforms and rushed back upstairs to check on Chloe.

But by the time the got to the kitchen, they were only treated to the chilling sound of utter silence. Nothing but a granola bar and an unfinished can of milk on the table.

They looked at each other before that same whimper that they heard the day before broke the silence.

"Sounds like It's coming from my room" Jake muttered. "Why don't you go and check on her, I'll wait for you two." Chance said.

Jake nodded and walked down the hall to his bedroom. He reached his paw up to the door knob but stopped himself and sighed.

"C-Chloe?"

Nothing.

"It's Jake."

Still nothing.

"I just wanna tell you that we're back…and uh…I hope your doing ok. I…uh…I know that there was some crazy things happening in the city. But I want you to know…that…the monsters are gone. And…uh…"

Jake stopped talking and sighed.

He knew that his empty words wouldn't help.

He knew he had to admit it.

He had to tell her the truth.

She kept her promise.

But he didn't.

He broke his promise.

He let her down.

He failed her, and he needed to come clean.

With a heavy heart, he slowly turned the knob and opened the door, only to find the human girl was missing.

Then Jake heard the whimper again. At that point, he knew where she was. He knelt down under the bed to find a fearful Chloe, shaking violently against the floor.

"Chloe" Jake tried again.

The girl whipped her head up to see the cinnamon kat looking at her with nothing but pure guilt in his eyes.

"You promised" she faintly said.

Jake could tell she was mad at him. And he couldn't blame her. She had every right to.

"Listen kid. I know that you're angry and upset with me and Chance and that we didn't get back faster like I promised. But our entire city was on the line, and I was worried that we were gonna lose everything. I was worried we were gonna lose you. I thought we were never gonna see you again. If that happened, I would never forgive myself."

She pondered his words in her mind. He really cared about her. No wonder Jake was treating her far better than her father ever did.

Slowly but surely, the human girl wiggled her way out from under the bed until her face was level Jake's.

He looked at the poor girl with absolute guilt. He saw the quivering lips. He saw the tear stains on her cheeks. He saw the fear in her eyes.

But Chloe felt all of those things melt away when she looked into his amber eyes. Filled with one thing, love.

She threw her arms around the cinnamon kat and buried her face into his shoulder. Jake didn't hesitate to return the hug. He then brushed some of her hair back and whispered in her ear,

"I'm sorry."
