"Hey squirt, we're baaaaack!"

Chloe raced happily towards the hanger. Jake and Chance had just returned from a rather quick mission earlier involving someone attempting to blow up every refinery in Megakat City.

Chloe had happily forgiven Jake for what transpired yesterday after he broke his promise to her that he and Chance would be 'back before you know it' but ended up being gone for hours on end.

So, after Chloe woke up the next morning, she found a box near her suitcase along with a piece of paper.

She picked up the paper and read from it,

Chloe, it's Jake.

Hey, look kid, I just wanna say again that I'm truly sorry about what happened yesterday, and I still felt deep guilt at breaking my promise to you.

So, as a gift, take this walkie-talkie. I've got it linked to both channels of the Turbokat so you can talk to me and Chance/T-Bone so that way you have someone to talk to if you start feeling alone or scared.

However, that also means that you can't just talk to us at any time as we might be fighting a bad guy, like we're on our way to do right now, or if we're talking to someone like Major Manx or Mrs. Briggs or even Commander Feral. I wouldn't want your voice to just start blaring through the walkie and have everybody become suspicious of us.

So please, accept it as our gift to you.

I hope you're doing okay kid. I really mean that.

Sincerely,

Jake Clawson/Razor

Chance Furlong/T-Bone

The SWAT Kats

And she absolutely loved it. But right now, she watched the Turbokat ascend on its platform as the cockpit slid open and Razor and T-Bone hoped out from the jet.

Immediately, Jake was almost tackled by the speedy human girl that ran up to him and embraced him tightly making the cinnamon tabby laugh.

"H-hey there Chloe. Good to see ya. Did ya get our present?"

"Yes, I did, and I love it. Thank you, Jake, thank you Chance" she squealed as she pulled away from Jake and hugged Chance. "Aww, it was nothin' squirt. We just wanna make sure that you're not just talking to a wall." Chance answered.

"So tell me, what happened? Did you get the bad guy?"

Chance smiled. "Why don't you let us get changed and we'll tell you all about it" he said. "But first."

Chloe wasn't sure what her blond furred friend meant but quickly found out when the two toms walked over to the wall. She noticed a stamper on the counter and above it were dozens of skulls and crossbones.

"Wow. Is this for all the bad guys you've caught?"

"Sure is squirt." Chance replied before he took the the stamper, dabbed it on the ink pad, and placed another skull and crossbones on the wall.

"Chalk up another one for the SWAT Kats" Chance smiled with satisfaction. "Alright Chloe. How bout you go on and head upstairs. We'll meet you up there shortly."

The 5 year old obliged and climbed up the ladder. Once inside, she sat down on the couch and waited for Jake and Chance. Not even a minute later, they showed up in their mechanic uniforms and red hats.

"Hey squirt, catch." Chance said, tossing a cold can of milk to Chloe. She caught the can and opened it with ease. "Let's see if we made the 5:00 news" Chance grinned.

He tossed another can over to Jake who also opened his right away. Refreshments at hand, Jake turned on the tv.

"Who's that?" Chloe asked out of the gate, pointing at the tv. "Who, that? Oh, that's Commander Feral." Jake explained. "He's the head of this 'super advanced unit' called the Enforcers, and let's just say that…uh…we have some 'history' with him." Jake rubbed the back of his head.

"Guy looks like he hasn't hit the litterbox in a week." Chance muttered causing Chloe to suppress her laughter. She then joined the kats in toasting to their 'success'.

"Turn it up, I wanna here him take credit for what we did."

Jake did so while Chloe got up from the couch to watch with her feline friends. A reporter was currently asking Feral about the suspect.

"So you don't have Morbulus in custody?"

Morbulus? Who's that, Chloe thought.

Feral held a look of pure unquestionable authority that it made Chloe shudder. Not to mention, he looked a lot different than what she expected. A big hulking feline who could take out anyone who stood in his way without breaking a sweat.

"Due to the interference of the SWAT Kats, this is all we have of Morbulus at the moment" the commander replied holding up what was an empty, wet suit.

How did he do that, Chloe thought to herself.

Chloe winced when she saw Jake and Chance spit out their milk. "WHAT?!" they both exclaimed in unison.

"No one asked for their help, and they allowed a dangerous criminal to escape" he bellowed.

Jake and Chance were both angry and flabbergasted at the same time. "Escape?! We practically handed Feral a gift package" he growled.

"And if I ever find out who they are, I'll-"

The commander's threat was cut short by Chance hurling his milk can into the tv, officially rendering it useless.

"Aw, great. Morbulus is gone, so's our TV." Jake sighed. "Well, at least you still have me" came the sweet voice of Chloe who was looking up at the mechanics.

Jake laughed and ruffled her hair. Sure, he and Chance might have had a devastating day with Morbulus having escaped, but at least they had little Chloe around to help brighten their day.

"You're right kiddo. We sure do."

Just then, the sound a car engine came from nearby. It was the Deputy Major.

"Quick Chloe, hide. It's Callie." Jake ordered. She did as she was told and hid underneath the counter where the broken tv was.

At that moment, a long and stylish green car entered the body shop. Chloe then noticed that there was a small peephole in the where that she could see out of. She really wanted to see what this 'Mrs. Briggs' looked like.

"Remember, stay quiet, and don't make any movements or noise until Mrs. Briggs is out of here, alright?" Jake whispered.

Chloe nodded and Jake patted her head. "Atta girl."

Chloe was amazed at the sheer size and look of the car. She thought she was looking at some super expensive supercar.

But it was what was in the car the caught her eye more than the car itself. "I need your help, guys. This crate pinged all the way from Megakat Bay" came a feminine voice.

What Chloe saw next made her eyes widen. It was a female kat. She had peach colored fur, flowing blond hair that went down to her back. She adorned a beautiful pink dress, white button-down shirt, a light purple necktie and a pair of reading glasses.

But what really captivated Chloe was the Dep. Mayor's pretty green eyes that sparkled like emeralds. Eyes that displayed confidence and determination. And to be honest, reminded the human girl all too much of her late mother.

"What were you doin' way out there Callie?" Chance said in his best 'suave' kinda tone.

"Didn't you guys hear? The SWAT Kats shot down Morbulus. They were magnificent." Callie said.

"Really?"

"They tore him right out of his plane." Callie continued. Chloe was trying not to laugh, since she obviously knew that it was Jake and Chance who did it.

He's clearly trying to impress her, but he's not doing so well, she thought.

"No" Chance gasped, clearly faking his amazement of Callie's story.

"Yes. But somehow Commander Feral managed to lose him…" she added.

"Yeah, so we heard. When we had a tv." Jake muttered. "When do you think I can pick up the car?" Callie asked, giving her keys to Chance.

"Jake'll start on it right away. You can wait for it, how 'bout some milk?" Chance suggested in a flirty tone.

"I really can't. I've got to get back into town and help "his Honor" write his speech for tomorrow's park dedication." She was of course talking about her boss, Manx.

"I'll be happy to drive you." Chance offered, leaning up against the tow truck. The Deputy Major just smirked at him. "No need. Mayor Manx is waiting for me outside. One of the, um, "perks" of being Deputy Mayor. Thanks, Chance."

Chloe wasn't able to see cause Callie's car was blocking her field of vision, but the Deputy Major had walked over to another long car, but this one was the Major's personal transport.

Chance sighed. "Ha. Did you hear that? She's crazy about me."

Before leaving, Mrs. Briggs stuck her head into the entrance of the body shop and waved at the boys. "Bye Jake" she whispered seductively.

Once the Deputy Major was out of sight, Chloe made her move. "Jake and Callie sittin' in a tree. K-I-S-S-I-N-G."

Jake's fur went from cinnamon to redder than a stop sign in an instant, causing Chance to fall on the floor in laughter.

"Oh you little rascal." Jake yelled as he chased after Chloe. "Just wait till I get my paws on you."

Far out from Megakat City, in an old swamp, there was one big tree, which was also home to one of Megakat City's most feared villains.

"So, this is the secret lab of the legendary Dr. Viper." Morbulus grinned. Next to him was the mutated kat scientist himself. He wore nothing but a white lab coat. He had sharp claws and talons, striped skin in two different shades of green, and a frightening pair of glowing yellow eyes.

"Quite an 'eyeful', isn't it Morbulussssss" he hissed lowly.

The four-eyes villain was examining the doctor's handiwork. "Very impressive. Looks like you've got everything a mad scientist needs right here."

Viper nodded. "Everything except the rare biochemical compound known as Katalyssst 99."

"Well, maybe I can help you get it doc" the pilot answered, clutching a glass bottle of fluid in his hands.

Viper turned around and smiled at his new 'companion'. "Ah, we see "eye to eye," Morbulusss. I do have need of someone to get me into Megakat Biochemical Labsss."

"Megakat Labs? Are you outta your mind?! That building's impenetrable." Mobuluss rebuked.

"Up until now" the doctor replied. He took a sample of his formula from a petrie dish and put it on Mobuluss's arm. Immediately his body began to change and morph. "What? What have you done to me" he screamed.

The doctor chuckled sinisterly. "I'm letting you "help" me. As a living tessst tube for my new bacteria ssstrain."

"Nooooo" the being formerly known as Morbuluss cried out, his voice now distorted from the mutation.

"Yesss! I have big plansss for you! With your help, I'll have Katalyst 99 and the power to dessstroy Megakat City!"

"I'm not sure using these turbo plugs on Callie's engine is such a good idea, Chance."

The boys were working on Deputy Major Briggs's car while Chloe was in Jake's room taking a nap after he got his ticklish revenge on her.

"I say she's gotta have extra horsepower in case of an emergency." Chance said. Jake on the other hand wasn't so sure about where this was going. "I say you're gonna blow the engine."

Chance just couldn't get the smug off his face when he got into the car and put in the ignition key. "Jake, I'm a pilot. I know what an engine can handle. See? Purrs like a kitten. Growls like a tiger."

Unfortunately, he could only keep things positive for so long cause right after he said that the engine collapsed in a heap of smoke, getting it all over Jake.

"Blows like a volcano" he muttered, his ears drooped down. "Now what'll we tell Callie?"

"I'll think of somethin'" Chance responded, kicking a bolt on the ground. While the two were thinking about how to explain the situation to the Deputy Major, a parts truck came in, it's back dumper stacked to the brim.

"Problems, guys? Maybe we can add to 'em." A high-pitched gravelly voice said from the driver seat. It belonged to one of the most annoying kats that Jake and Chance had to deal with.

Murray and his equally aggravating partner, Burke.

Their main job was really just to see how angry they could make Jake and Chance, and how fast they could do it.

"Hit it, Murray."

And just like that, they pulled the lever and all the parts came crashing in like a wave made of metal. "This makes my day, Burke."

"They come a long way from bein' pilots." Burke replied. "A looooong way… down" Murray laughed. Jake and Chance just stood there, their teeth and fists clenched.

"Sign here." Chance signed his and then snapped the pencil he was holding in two. Here's your copy! We'll tell Commander Feral you sent your love." Murray mocked. "Adios Amigos."

They drove off leaving a massive cloud of dirt and dust in their wake.

Chance crossed his arms and rolled his eyes. "Dis makes my day" he said, doing his best Murray impersonation. "If those dipsticks knew we built the Turbokat outta stuff like this."

"They'd cough up a hairball" Jake laughed.

They turned around and went back to the shop. But not before inspecting the mountain of parts. "Hey, check it out. We can drop this baby under Callie's hood. With a little modification, of course."

"And I think I found our new tv." Jake said.

Suddenly, a loud, high-pitched scream echoed through the scrapyard. It was so loud that Jake and Chance had to cover their ears.

Their faces were filled with concern. That scream could only mean one thing.

"CHLOE!"

They hurried into the shop, to the hallway, and into Jake's room where upon first glance, they saw a shaking Chloe laying face up on the bed, looking at the wall with total terror in her eyes. Her mouth hanging ajar.

One move of her head to the side later, and she was off the bed and into Jake's soft warm arms.

"Woah woah. Hey hey hey. Shh, shh it's alright. It's alright Chloe. It's ok, I'm here, Chance is here." Jake gently rubbed her back and continued to tell her that everything was gonna be ok.

After Chloe had cried her tears, while being comforted by Jake's soothing embrace, she went with them into the kitchen. Jake gave her a can of milk to drink while Chance wrapped a blanket around her.

They both sat on either side of the young girl, who was still shaking and trembling at what she went through. But then she felt Chance wrap his arm around her.

"Hey squirt. It's ok. You're ok."

Chloe felt she could spend more time with Chance, even if she was starting to form a special bond with Jake. Chance really was the gentle giant that Jake said he was.

Once Chloe had finished her milk, Jake took the can and threw it in the recycle bin. Thankfully, the human had calmed down enough to where she could talk.

"Hey Chloe, you feeling better kiddo?"

The little 5 year old looked up at him and nodded.

Jake smiled weakly. He could tell that she was still a little shaken up about what happened.

"Did you have a nightmare?"

A nod.

"Would ya like to talk about it?"

A shake.

"Ok. Well, if you ever wanna talk with me or Chance, just let us know. Because we're here for you Chloe. And we wanna make that you're kept safe."

The human girl leaned up against Jake snuggling into his chest.

Jake smiled and wrapped his arms around her and leaned his head against hers as she fell back into slumber.

"Thank you Jake" she whispered.

Meanwhile, Dr. Viper's new experiment wasted no time devouring a cow and even a poor farmer.

"And now that you've had your breakfassst, it's time to begin our commute into Megakat City, by ssssewer. Follow me."

As they snuck into Megakat City through the pipelines, the Major was in the middle of his park dedication, unavailing a stone statue of himself of course.

"As Mayor of Megakat City, I am proud to dedicate this beautiful new park, which bears my name."

Shortly after Jake put Chloe back to bed after her nightmare episode, he and Chance watched the Major's speech on the new tv they found while continuing to work on Mrs. Briggs's car.

"Ahh, that Callie sure is pretty." Chance said, staring dreamy eyed at the Deputy Major. "Yeah, but she'll be pretty mad if we don't get her car running."

The camera panned to the renowned local reporter for the outlet Katseye News, Ann Gora along with her camerakat Johnny.

"From the new Manx Municipal Park, this is Ann Gora for Kat's Eye News" she spoke into her microphone which she carried with her at all time.

"What in the…"

Suddenly, a manhole opened up and the bacteria abomination that Dr. Viper had created, lurched into the park.

"Get a shot of that" Ann yelled to her camerakat.

The walking glob of goo marched through the park, intent on absorbing anything it could find, but it's main focus was on the Major. He and Callie got in his car while Callie manned the wheel.

"Better let me drive, Mayor" she suggested.

"Just get me out of here" he shouted. As the big blue blob inched closer to its target, Callie let out a shriek of terror while Manx trembled with fear.

Jake and Chance were so startled that they hit their heads on the hood.

"Hey, that's Callie" they exclaimed in unison.

"Out of my way, Slimeball." The Deputy Major slammed on the gas and the car drove through the blue goo, shattering it to smithereens.

But just like the hydra, one head cut off grows two back. And that's just what happened with the goo.

Jake and Chance knew they had to save Callie.

"Let's hit It."

But before they went down to their lair, Jake stopped by his room to check on Chloe. Thankfully, she was still sound asleep. Jake smiled and gave her quick kiss on her forehead.

Having caught up to Chance, the two switched to their SWAT Kat uniforms and fired up the Turbokat.

With everything ready to go, they set off to the city, Jake's mind still going back to the human girl.

Don't worry Chloe. We'll be back.

I promise.

Having barely survived getting eaten by the bacteria monsters, Manx and Callie were able to flee, just in time for Feral and the Enforcers to pick them up via heli.

"Relax, Mayor. The Enforcers are here now."

"So are the SWAT Kats" Callie said much to Feral's disapproval.

"Looks like Callie's safe." Razor pointed out. "Not the way Feral flies." T-Bone replied as they flew closer to Feral's helicopter.

"Back off, you vigilantes. The authorities are handling this. Fire on my order." Feral commanded. "I don't think that's a good idea Feral. We saw what happened when Callie hit it."

"He's right." Callie told the Commander. But he could care less. "I'm in command here" he snapped at her.

"I think he's blown us off."

Feral readied his chopper and aimed at the abomination.

"Fire!"

The missile proved to be completely useless as the goo monster was now morphed into three copies of itself.

"Now he's done it" Razor grumbled.

Unbeknownst to the SWAT Kats or the Enforcers, Dr. Viper looked up from the same manhole to check on the progress he'd made. "Those fools have given me three ways into Megakat Labsss" he hissed, slithering back into the sewers as his plan progressed.

Up ahead, his blue goo soldiers were moving ever closer to the Megakat Labs. After what happened last time, Feral had all but given up on firing another missile at them. "Normal weapons won't stop these monsters."

Manx scowled at the Commander. "You've made that abundantly clear, Feral."

"They seem to be heading for the Megakat Biochemical Labs. We'd better get there first." Callie said.

Chloe had woken up from her rather long nap. She yawned, rubbed her eyes and climbed out of Jake's bed.

But then a roaring sound in the distance caught her attention. She was not looking out the window again after what'd happened last time. So, she decided to watch tv instead to keep her mind off the whole thing.

She flipped through the many different channels, but she wanted to make sure that she found at least one channel that she liked.

She ultimately found two. This comedy show called Scaredy Kat and what was happening on the news. She too saw the giant goo monsters, but this time, she didn't retreat back under Jake's bed again.

Instead, she gasped in awe at how cool they looked. She had always been amazed with the world of science and technology and had hopped to be a professional scientist when she grew up.

But right now, her eyes stayed glued to the tv screen as she watched the monsters close in on their target. Then she saw the Turbokat flash across the sky.

"Yeah! Go Jake and Chance!" she cheered.

"Any idea what to throw at these guys?" T-Bone asked.

"How 'bout Feral? Thanks to him we've got three to fight." Razor replied, throwing in a little joke in his answer.

But T-Bone saw that something was off. "Then how come I only see two?" Razor looked around and noticed that one was indeed missing from the group. "Hey, where'd the other one go?"

"Use the X-Ray beam." T-Bone suggested.

Razor used the device and soon spotted his prey. "Oh no" he gasped. "One's going into the subway."

"Gotta move fast" T-Bone yelled his colleague.

They moved the jet lower to the street level and Razor dropped down from it in what he and T-Bone called the Cyclotron. Heading into the subway to pursue the monster.

After she'd done her business, Chloe sat back down on the couch and continued to watch the action unfold. But after a few minutes, something went off in her head.

She wanted to do something for Jake and Chance as a way of saying thank you after they gave her that walkie-talkie.

So, the human girl got up from the couch and went into Jake's room.

Along with the walkie, the two kats had also bought her some art supplies such as crayons, markers and a big stack of blank paper so she'd have something else to do besides watching tv all day.

She grabbed the crayons and some of the paper, turned off the tv to save power and thought about what she wanted to doodle.

And she had just the thing in mind.

"One Megavolt missile, away." Razor cried as he launched said missile at his target. He'd already made short work of the first goo monster by figuring out that it was pervious to heat and turned it into 'deep-fried bacteria'.

And now, he and T-Bone took out the second one with the missile, turning it into a giant brown puddle of goo.

Now only one remained. And as it made approached the window of the lab building, eying Dep. Mayor Briggs and Dr. Zyme, a lead scientist who had developed a serum that was powerful enough to take out the monster, Feral shot the syringe that carried the serum from his Enforcer helicopter, right into the monster's mouth.

It froze as cracks appeared everywhere. "It worked" cheered the doctor.

But of course the celebrations were premature as Viper showed up right behind him and Callie.

"You were always an arrogant fool, Dr. Zyme! My bacteria is immune to antibioticsss" he hissed as the giant bacterial hand busted through the supposed 'indestructible' glass with ease.

It grabbed Zyme and shooed away Feral's chopper. But the Swat Kats were on it and flew back over to the labs. "Time for another Megavolt missile buddy." T-Bone said.

"Whoops. Guess I'm one short." Razor responded.

"You won't get away with this Dr. Viper." Callie sneered. "No Mrs. Briggs. It's you" he said. He then used his long stripped tail to grab her while she screamed in terror.

"CALLIE" both Razor and T-Bone shouted in unison as they passed the building all while the final bacteria monster continued to chase them.

There was only one thing for it.

Electricity.

They led the monster down the bridge and cut the grid wires in half which got caught on the monster once it walked right into them.

It couldn't take the heat and soon melted in the same fashion as his cohorts.

With the giant bacterias out of the way, the kats focused their attention on saving Callie.

But Razor's mind kept on going back to Chloe, hopping that she was doing ok.

Chloe was doing fantastic.

In fact, she'd spent the last 30 minutes or so drawing pictures that she knew Jake and Chance were going to love.

The Turbokat crashed through the glass of the labs and sent both Viper and Callie backward. T-Bone made his move and jumped out of the jet and pulled Callie to his side.

"Game's over, Dr. Viper" he growled.

He then gestured to Razor who was standing on top of the Turbokat with a rocket launcher in his paws. But Viper had other plans.

"Ssstill one more play" he hissed and threw two jars of the serum that Dr. Zyme had made at the Turbokat, causing the whole room to catch on fire.

But thankfully, the SWAT Kats got the Dep. Mayor out just In the knick of time.

They landed the jet at a safe distance and brought Callie back to solid ground while Feral's copter hovered over them.

"Ms. Briggs, are you alright" he asked through his megaphone. "Yes, thanks to the SWAT Kats."

"Thanks to them, half of Megakat City is without power" he bellowed.

"Hey, you know a better way to cook a giant bacteria?" T-Bone remarked.

He and Razor zoomed past the Commander and through the streets of Megakat City.

While on their way back to the hanger, they flew past Murray and Burke, those two junkyard bullies and satisfyingly watched as they started cleaning up the mess.

"Looks like Burke and Murray have got a looooong day ahead of 'em." T-Bone said with a grin.

"Hey, since we aren't doing anything else, why don't we contact Chloe, see how she's doing?"

"Good idea buddy."

Chloe had just finished her last drawing when she heard the sound of her walkie which she'd kept next to her as a just in case.

"Chloe. Chloe this is Razor. Do you copy?"

The human girl's heart was filled with joy as she pressed the button to respond.

"Yes Razor. I copy."

"Always good to hear your voice squirt. Listen, we just completed another mission and we'll be landing the Turbokat hear in a bit. Why don't you go down to the hanger and wait for us, over." T-Bone said.

"You got it T-Bone, over."

"We missed ya kiddo. Over and out." Razor said.

She put down her walkie and ran out to the entrance of the body shop and spotted the Turbokat.

The kats spotted their human friend and waved at her. She waved back and watched as the jet entered the hanger.

Chloe went down the latter and raced towards the hanger, eager to see her feline friends.

Once the jet's cockpit open and the SWAT Kats exited the jet, they were soon met with site of their human friend standing in front of them.

T-Bone knelt down while Chloe ran up to him and hugged the blond furred tabby.

"Hey there squirt. Good to see ya."

She did the same with Razor and after the two kats had gotten changed, they went up the latter with Chloe and into the kitchen.

But before they could celebrate their recent victory, both kats glanced over at the table, only to find it littered with crayons and paper.

They walked over and inspected Chloe's drawings, and they were stunned. They never knew that a five-year-old could be such an artist.

There was a drawing of the Turbokat, Megakat City and even a pretty accurate drawing of Callie, which Chance found amusing.

But the one that stood out to them was a drawing of them in their SWAT Kat uniforms, sanding in front of the body shop with Chloe in between them holding their paws with one word on the top of the paper.

Family

Jake felt like he was about to cry. Him and Chance's hearts were touched at the sight. A pair of smiles were plastered on their faces.

"Wow. For a five-year-old, she's got skill." Jake murmured to his colleague, clearly impressed.

They then turned to Chloe who was standing feet together with her hands behind her back and a faint blush on her cheeks while gently moving from side to side.

"You…you drew all this?" Jake asked, still a little surprised.

Chloe nodded.

"Wow. We...we don't know what to say Chloe. It's…it's beautiful. Thank you."

"Your welcome Jake."

But the trio soon noticed that it was getting late. So Jake offered to put Chloe's drawings on the wall in the lair.

After they'd eaten dinner, the trio went to bed, with Jake feeling better as Chloe slept at his side.
