The test was concluded several days ago, the students told that the results will be sent to their addresses, the time to grade them taking up to a week at most.

Midoriya was stressed about his results, not certain about his future career. He was sat down on his desk, wearing a casual dark blue shirt with 't-shirt' written across the front in black writing, also wearing tan cargo shorts. He looked down at his desk, looking at his contact to All Might as he sent several text messages to him with no response, even attempting to call him on occasion but to only be sent to the same voice mail over and over.

This did not help with his paranoia, was All Might disappointed in him? Did he choose wrong? Has someone else in his life lost hope in him to become a hero?

He wanted to cry, to breakdown and just give up on his dreams, to simply just…stop. However before he could sink deeper into his spiral something on his desk stopped him.

Looking to the side of his desk he looked at a small solidified chunk of bandaging, more specifically the cast that was around his cast. He looked closer at it, looking at the slightly faded numbers. He wanted to call her, or even just text her. But he was so afraid.

Midoriya wasn't used to this kind of contact, it wasn't just someone trying to talk to him, but someone trying to be his friend. This was someone that didn't see him as weak or a failure, and they willingly wanted to know more about him…and that terrified him. What if she thought he was weird, or pathetic, or even worse…weak.

He shook his head, grabbing a hold of his phone and then the piece of cast with his other hand. He looked at the arrangement of numbers, looking over his phone as he typed them in, creating the contact and naming it 'Kyoka Jiro'.

He placed both of the items in his hands down onto the table, letting out the breath he had been holding in. now was the next task, the text.

It had to be perfect, the most welcoming and definitely not weird text possible.

Midoriya stood up and started to pace in his room, wiping his hair out of his vision as he began to move back and forth in his room.

"it cant be to weird, it needs to come off as casual but not to casual. She wants to go out for some food so it will have to come off as formal as well, but not to formal or she might think I'm trying to a-ask her o-out" he began his traditional murmuring under his breath, catching his breath at the idea of asking her out. He shook his head slightly as he returned to murmuring, rubbing his chin with his hand.

He spent several minutes like this, giving a sigh as he sat down at his desk again, rolling his chair forward before picking up his phone. He looked at the blank text screen in front of him before giving another sigh, his eyes darting over the screen as he begins to type out a message. Finishing the text he looks at the full text, his thumb shaking as he hovers over the send button. He closes his eyes, slamming his thumb forward before dropping his phone onto the desk, looking down at it with a mixture of fear and anxiety.

"Hey Jirou, its Izuku Midoriya, from the entrance exam. You wrote your number on my cast before leaving so I hope you remember. You said to message you when I'm good to get some food, I've fully recovered and happy to meet you for food whenever you are available" the text wrote, straight to the point but still holding its polite tone.

Midoriya looked at his phone for another fifteen minutes, reminding himself to breathe on multiple occasions.

When his phone buzzes he knows its from her, having no friends and no social life means that your phone is a very empty place. He's one of the few teenagers that uses phone as just that, a phone, he had no need to use social media or to be invested in other people's lives, because nobody was invested in his.

He shakingly opened his phone, swiping up to his messages before clicking on her name.

"Yeah good to hear from you Midoriya, thought you weren't going to message, you free tomorrow? We could meet in the City center, your local to Musutafu right?" the text read.

He couldn't believe it, she was happy to hear from him, and even better she still wanted to meet him!

His composure relaxed as he sunk slightly in his chair, grabbing his phone with both hands as he began his reply.

"Yeah I am, we could meet at the market if you wanted?" he wrote back, a smile slowly growing on his face as it set in he had someone to talk to.

A few minutes went by, feeling like hours for Midoriya, had he already lost her? Was the market a dumb place to meet up? Of course it was! Before he could think any further into it the response from her came through, immediately looking at his phone.

"Not really in the mood for the market, here I'm going to send you a address for a manga place I wanted to check out, you cool with that?"

He looked down at the screen with a sigh. 'got to stop overreacting to this stuff' he thought, rubbing his eyes before looking to see the address get sent through. He looked up the manga place on his computer. It seemed to be a quaint little place that sold a selection of 'nerdy' things as well as a small music spot attached to it. He smiled, liking how the little establishment looked.

"Sounds good, when would you like to meet up?"

"Well can you meet me there in an hour?"

'Oh god she wanted to meet today?! Ok think, I'm free all day, so if I wanted to I could definitely meet her, and I really want to meet her. Ok then where is this place? Hmmm, not to far that's good so I could make it in an hour if I set off now.' Midoriya thought, quickly moving to grab his wallet as well as putting on his classic red boots.

"Yeah ill meet you there" he text her, shoving his phone into his pocket as he grabbed a dark green zip up hoodie, putting it on but leaving it unzipped as he headed out.

"Izuku where are you going?" asked his mother Inko from the kitchen, confusion on her face as she continues to stir a pleasant smelling mixture on the stove.

"I'm going to go meet a friend, ill be back later ok? And remember to keep a lookout for my results please!" he called out as he headed out the front door, closing it behind him.

Inko looked at the front door with a deep confusion. "A…friend?" she asked herself, smiling slightly as the word sets in. "Izuku…has…a friend" she said to herself, a warm smile covering her features as she returns to cooking.

Midoriya was walking down the street heading towards the Manga store, almost a skip in his step at the idea of meeting someone who wanted to actually meet him. the upside to it being a Thursday at eleven in the morning was that the city center wasn't nearly as busy as it could have been.

He finally reached the store, it not having much of an outer appearance, only looking like a typical comic book store on the corner of a larger building. The sign out the front of the store seemed to be a cartoon cat biting into a energy drink can, the 'liquid' spurting out writing out "Sashimi-Bars".

The pun of a name got a single chuckle from the green haired boy, looking through the window as he casually window shops, noticing a large plethora of manga on display as well as a series of different action figures of different sizes and genres, even some of todays Pro Hero's. he looked over the center piece models, smirking as he looks over the All Might figures, already owning all of them.

"You know we can go inside to look right?"

He turned to his left slightly, seeing Jiro on her tip toes looming over his shoulder, casually looking at the figures before looking at him, cocking her head slightly and smiling at him.

Jiro was wearing a plain dark purple t-shirt, along with black jeans that were ripped at the knees. She also had a checkered light and dark purple shirt that she had tied around her waist, wearing a pair of black boots as well.

Midoriya instinctively jumped back a couple steps, blushing at the cute smile that the girl was giving him before coughing slightly, trying his best to compose himself. He looked down at the slightly smaller girl, attempting to give her a smile.

"H-hi Jiro, nice to see you again" he said, giving her a tiny wave.

"Yeah same here Midoriya, you look a lot better when your not covered in bandages" she said with a small giggle looking at him up and down. "really good to see you out of that cast".

The genuine concern in her voice made his chest tighten, the feeling of someone caring about him that isn't a member of his family foreign to him. His cheeks tinted red slightly before noticing her arm was still covered in a couple plasters.

"but what about you? My legs were broken and I'm already walking, why didn't they take care of you?" he asked, moving closer to inspect her arm closer, wondering if there was a way he could help her.

A deep blush covered her face as she moved closer, gently cupping her arm as she partly froze on the spot, not sure what to do as she retracted her arm, holding it with her other. "I-it's fine don't worry, healing people took a lot out of Recovery Girl, I didn't wanna have her use her quirk just for the sake of some cuts and bruises" she said, smiling at him before moving to the door of the shop. "Come on there's some stuff I wanna get" she said as she waved her hand at him, ushering him in.

Midoriya smiled and quickly followed, practically just there for the ride as he follows her in.

The interior of the shop was vibrant, the carpet covered in erratic colored lines darting all over the floors, moving up the walls and shelves. The shelves were pure black, making the covers of the manga and painted lines stand out even more.

Midoriya was in awe at the shop, looking around as he started flipping through different manga's while Jiro went to the music section of the shop, looking as she went around the corner. He wanted to check on her, his social anxiety making him think she could have left him through another door. He wanted to put his mind at ease as he turned around the corner.

The walls of the music area were covered in different instruments, from themed and cheesy guitars, to instruments that look like they could be worth thousands. The floor was covered in different sized speakers and amps, a drum set in the corner.

Jiro was at the counter talking to one of the store workers, showing off different metal strings, she took a few of them and exchange them for some money that she had in her purse, smiling at the store worker before taking the bag and looking at Midoriya. She smiled and walked up to him.

"Sorry for just immediately leaving you at the entrance, had to get these bass strings before I forgot" she said, scratching the back of her head with an awkward chuckle.

"no p-problem you said you said you wanted to check the place out r-right?" he said with another smile, moving past her slightly as they kept talking, taking an interest in the selection of music disks available at the store, picking up Deep Dope's latest album.

"You sure stutter a lot hmm?" she said, looking at him before turning her head to see what he picked up. "Ooooh good choice! Love Deep Dope!" she said with enthusiasm.

"Y-yeah it's just a nervous thing I have, can't really help it" he said looking at her get excited as he looked at the new album. "yeah! I listen to them while t-training, you heard their new single? Treblequake I think?" he said, pondering what the name was. Properly as he flipping the cover of the album to look down the song names.

"Of course I've heard it!" Jiro said, almost bouncing up and down. She's never had anyone to talk about music with, even just asking about bands like she was now. She gave a big smile as she started flipping through the different albums, seeing if any caught her eyes. "So what you wanting to grab for food anyway? Still my treat remember" she said, still flipping through the albums.

Midoriya looked up from the album, pondering the thought for a moment. "could go for something filling, I want to say Ramen but I had that a couple days ago, oooh maybe Donburi?" he asked, licking his lips. He realized what he was saying, pondering what to spend her money on before looking back at her, his timid nature returning quickly. "I-if that's ok with you o-of course. It's your money so y-you should decide"

She chuckled, looking up at him from her slightly hunched position. "Nice try, the person that saved me from the massive killer robot gets to decide what we eat. Come on I know a Ramen place around the corner that makes some good Donburi" she said with a grin before taking his wrist, pulling him out of the shop, Midoriya quickly placing the album back before being fragged around the corner…and he didn't mind one bit.

He laughed slightly as he was guided through the city, Jiro taking him down streets he had never seen before, a brand new world in a place he had called home his entire life. The street was alive with the smell of cooked meats and steaming plates, a food market hidden in the metropolis. He smiled as Jiro kept a hold of his wrist, her skin was so soft, even with the plaster covering her palm. He attempted to move his hand up to hold hers, but blushed as he realized what he was attempting, practically still strangers as they both came to a stop, halting his thoughts.

"here we are! Come on grab a stool" she said. The Ramen place was a small little noodle bar, a couple bar stools outside on the street covered by a bright red tarp, once entering the booth they saw the kitchen on full view, allowing them to watch their food cooked as the chefs gave a quick bow, seeming to be the only customers in as they both sit down next to each other.

They quickly ordered their foods of choice, Midoriya going for a crispy duck Donburi while Jiro went for a roasted pork ramen dish. They watched as they saw their meals being prepared, both trying not to drool at the view.

"s-so Jiro" Midoriya started, causing Jiro to face him. "A-after I punched t-the robot and s-saved you, what happened? I remember you catching me before passing out. N-nobody could tell me what happened after that" he explained. Not able to recollect much else.

"Well when the test ended I screamed for help. I didn't know what was going to happen because we were like eight floors up from anyone. Apparently there are cameras everywhere in there though, so they saw us and we got help pretty quick. Recovery Girl was with us in ten minutes and sorted out your legs and arm with her quirk, but she had to cast your arm since that took the most force" she said, looking at his arm, seeing it practically back to normal.

"What the hell is your quirk anyway? Like no offence but it's insane! You can probably punch down a skyscraper but at the cost of your body? That's like a cruel twist of fate or something" she said, looking at him with a mix of confusion and concern.

"W-w-well y-you see" he stuttered, he couldn't tell her the truth, he promised it would be a secret he would keep with him. "I-I'm a late bloomer, the q-quirk only manifested a couple weeks a-ago" he said, grinning at her as he scratched the back of his head. "The d-doctors think its because t-the quirk i-is to strong so my body had t-to get stronger first, so it manifested during my t-training" he added, hoping to make it more believable with more detail added on top of it.

"Hmmm, I guess that makes sense" Jiro murmured, pondering the quirk she saw, the quirk that saved her. "W-well thank you for using it, even though you knew it would break you, you still used it to help me" she said, grabbing her jacks to gently push them together.

"W-what about your quirk?" Midoriya asked, deciding to diverge the questions to her instead.

"Well its called earphone jacks, fairly self-explanatory, I have earphone jacks on my ears. They give me more sensitive and accurate hearing, especially when I press them into a surface. They also allow me to pulse my heartbeat through that surface, and works especially well with speaker systems" she said with a chuckle, remembering how she rescued him, still impressed it worked.

"That's incredible! What are the tips made of? How much control do you have of them? Can they extend in length? Is the power of the beat based on the rate of your heart, or how powerful the actual pulse is?" he asked in quick succession.

"ok ok ok take it easy Midoriya one question at a time" she said, raising her hands up defensively as he got closer and closer.

"s-sorry, growing up without a q-quirk most my life has made me a b-bit of a nerd for them" he said, pulling back slightly with a blush.

"well that's fair enough, I can't imagine my life without my quirk, it's a part of my everyday life ya know?" she said looking at him, a look of empathy on her face for his situation.

Before their conversation could continue, their food was promptly placed in front of them, steam coming off both of the delicious looking bowls. They both look at each other before grinning widely, quickly grabbing their chopsticks and diving in. Midoriya's had a rich taste, the meat practically falling apart before he could eat it, fresh vegetables complimenting the taste well. While Jiro's food was so simplistic, but it had a warm homely taste to it, similar to a home cooked meal as she dived in.

The rest of the meal quickly divulged into simple small talk, getting to know each other more as friends. From their favorite colors, to what they do when they are feeling rubbish and need to think. Jiro gets into comfortable clothes and places her bass around her neck, not necessarily to play it, just to hold it sometimes. Midoriya goes for runs, allowing him to just move so his brain can think clearly.

They finished their meal long ago, now just enjoying each other's company. Midoriya had never experienced this before, to laugh and enjoy someone who actually wanted to be with him, and not be afraid that it was some cruel joke or trick, or even worse an attempt to hurt him physically. The thought sent his shoulder to twitch slightly, his heart rate accelerating.

Jiro noticed the increase in his heart, hearing it almost as clearly as her own. "Hey Midoriya, you alright?" she asked, moving her hand forward to gently hold onto his forearm.

This immediately brought him back, the soft contact acting as an anchor to the real world. He blinked his eyes before looking up at her. "Y-yeah, just nervous about my results" he said, moving the blame.

"Yeah so was I honestly, got them yesterday though and I passed!" she said with a smile, beaming at him.

"W-what?! Why didn't you mention this sooner!?" he asked, confused but smiling wide, happy for her.

"Well I didn't want to bring it up unless you did, didn't want to share my good news in case you didn't make it in" she said, murmuring the last part of the sentence.

"Well that's f-fair enough I guess" he said, scratching the back of his head slightly, noticing she was still holding his forearm. "J-Jiro y-you can let g-go now" he said, blushing softly.

Jiro immedetly let go, her own blush covering her face. "S-sorry"

"No its fine" he said. 'I liked it' but he didn't dare say that to her.

Shortly after leaving the Ramen place Midoriya's phone buzzed, grabbing it from his pocket as he saw a picture sent from his mother.

"IT'S HERE IZUKU! YOUR RESULTS!" The message read, a picture of a pure white envelope with a UA stamp on it.

"h-h-h-holy crap I need to go!" he said, showing Jiro his phone as he quickly put his phone back in his pocket.

"Oh crap yeah you do!" she said, looking at him with a smile. "I better see you at UA mop head" she said with a smile and a chuckle, waving as he ran off.

'Mop head?' he thought to himself, looking up at his thick locks before shaking his head, he had to get home now!

Once he finally got home he practically kicked the door down, panting heavily as he looked at his worrying and anxious mother. She handed the letter to Midoriya with shaking hands, him taking the letter in his own shaking digits.

He went to his room, placing the letter on his desk before pacing back and forth, unable to stop moving before grabbing it and violently opening it, a small metal disk popping out.

Midoriya was shocked as All Might appeared as a hologram, explaining he was to be a new UA faculty member as well as how the point system worked for the test. He was shown a video of him punching the robot, but then he was shown another video.

The video Showed Jiro entering the test room, asking to see Present Mic.

"Do you know that guy with the green hair? He punched the massive robot, the zero pointer. He did it to save me, he could have got more points if I wasn't so helpless, am I able to give him my points?" she asked, almost pleaded.

Midoriya was blown away, the person that he saved, his…friend, wanted to help him, even if that meant compromising her future.

"Your actions effect those around you Izuku, like a true hero's actions should" All Might said, shocking Midoriya with the rescue point system.

Midoriya was blown away as the hologram closed, only able to look down at his phone as he opened his messages, opening Jiro's contact.

"I did it, I'm in!"
