The entire class was walked down the street, the facility familiar to a set few, yes, this was the same area as the entrance exam! Some of the students moved ahead, talking to All Might as he tells many of his tales of being a hero, the rest of the students either looking around the facility or talking to each other.
Jiro and Midoriya stayed close, talking to each other as they complimented each other's costumes, other students joining in as they talk about what they might be doing in todays lesson, only knowing that the training will involve combat. The students kept asking questions about each other, such as why they designed their costume the way they did or information about each other's quirks, though some decided not to say much in hopes of having an edge on the competition for combat.
The crowd soon slowed down and came to a halt, standing outside a building that looked starkly different to the others. The building was roughly five stories tall, the outside a darker colour of concrete as well as missing windows, the entire structure giving a colder feeling, more industrial and reinforced.
All Might stepped to the entrance before turning around and smiling, looking at the crowd of his students with his trademark grin. "Right then class, this is going to be where our lesson begins!" he said, taking a breath to continue before being interrupted.
"Sir, a question" The metallic looking knight asked, Lida inside the suit as he continued. "This is where we took our entrance exam, does this mean we will be working in more urban environments for combat?" he asked, everyone's eyes returning to All Might.
"Not quite! I'm taking you all a few steps ahead. The battles you see on the news are most commonly with smaller villains, but larger syndicates and more dastardly evil doers are often hidden in their own bases and encampments. Just think, evil lairs, drug deals, home invasions. This means close quarter combat is something you will need to quickly master" All Might explains, pointing to the building behind him. "Which is why we are here! You are going to be split into teams of two and then be either villains or hero's! fighting in two versus two scenarios" he finished.
Asui looked up at All Might, raising a hand. "Isn't this a little advanced for a first lesson?" she asked, other students murmuring in agreement.
"Nonsense! The best training is the kind that you learn from experience, but remember robots aren't your enemies anymore, you have to fight actual people! A completely different foe I assure you" All Might replied with a small chuckle.
"Who decides who win's?"
"Will you be dividing us up randomly or by comparison of skill?"
"Will the losers be expelled or is that not a worry?"
"How badly can we hurt the other team?"
"Does my cape look nice?"
"Allow me to finish talking and all will be answered" All Might said, his trademark laugh hiding his annoyance of being continually interrupted.
"Here is the situation! The villains have hidden a chemical weapon somewhere in their hideout, the hero's must find the weapon and defeat the villains. The goals for winning are simple, if you are a hero either acquire the weapon, or defeat the villains. If you're a bad guy, take out the villains or defend the weapon until the timer runs out."
"Now lets draw!" All Might said with a grin, collecting all of the tickets and quickly placing them in the correct numbered slots. Each person was given a letter, a matching number paired with another student. Midoriya took his letter, A. He smiled as he walked back to the rest of the students.
"Ok! Shall we see who is fighting who?" All Might said with a grin, diving his hands into two containers, a black one listed 'villains' the other a white box listed 'hero's'. "The first two to match up are…these guys!" he said, lifting up two balls, the hero ball saying 'A' and the other saying 'G'.
"Everyone make your way to the observation room, bad guys head inside, you got five minutes before the hero's come in" All Might explained, staying put to make sure the hero's go in before heading to the observation room himself.
Midoriya watched everyone leave, except for Jiro, who looked at Midoriya and grinned before showing her ticket, 'A' written on it as she joins him outside the building. "Our first mission as Hero's pretty awesome we get to do it together!" she said smiling, looking at him up and down. Midoriya was beyond excited, his first mission and it was with his closest, if only friend. They both look at the Villain team walking inside.
"Young Kirishima, Shoji, the key to you being successful is for you to truly embrace villainy, think like a villain. If things start to get out of hand, I'll step in" All Might said, looking down at the grinning red head and multiarmed students. "got it" they both said, walking inside and getting ready.
As they headed inside, Jiro and Midoriya were handed basic floorplans for the building, both looking down at the plans before looking back at All Might. "Remember you two, think of this as your first real mission, you can't afford to hesitate" he said before giving a thumbs up, jumping over the buildings to reach the observation room.
"Got to give credit to him, he's just as cool in person as he is on TV" Jiro said, smiling as she turned to face Midoriya. "What do you thin- AH YOU'RE SWEATING THROUGH YOUR SUIT" She said, losing her composure as she looked at her clearly nervous partner.
"S-sorry, t-this is just r-real ya know?" he said, looking up at the building before looking back at Jiro, smiling down at her as he gave a confident, if shaking smile. "So lets do our best!" he said, raising a thumbs up to her.
She was surprised to see him change so quickly, from a shy hero to be, to someone more confident in an instance. She returned the smile before nodding. "Right!"
"Look at the bottom floor here, by the looks of it we are going to have to go to the end of the first floor corridor to get to the stairs, but the stairs can then take us to any floor without really having to move" She explained, showing her piece of paper to him of the floorplan.
"Yeah that sounds good, I say we sweep the top floor, then move to the top floor and sweep downwards for the bomb, they would be expecting us to do one floor at a time so we might catch them off guard" Midoriya continues, getting a nod off Jiro.
"HERO'S YOU MAY BEGIN YOUR ASSAULT" boomed the voice of All Might through the speakers, Jiro and Midoriya giving each other a final nod before walking towards the building.
Midoriya and Jiro went to the side of the building, deciding to climb through one of the windowless windows, climbing into the ground floor. They stayed close, Midoriya taking the lead as Jiro kept an eye on their rears.
"Ok what do we know about these two?" Jiro asked, hoping that Midoriya was keeping track of everyones quirks thanks to his little hobby.
"Kirishima has a hardening quirk, able to solidify parts of his body, he's a walking brick wall, able to dish out attacks as well as take them." He explained to Jiro, stopping a ta corner as he carefully looks around it, seeing nothing as they press on. "Shoji I'm not sure, he's incredibly strong, but I think he can create multiple appendages, like extra eyes, mouths and stuff." Midoriya continued.
"Right, so a head on attack is basically out of the question" She whispered. As they kept walking they saw the stairs in front of them, Jiro grabbing Midoriya's shoulder. "Wait up" She said, placing one of her jacks into the wall they were hugging, hearing something approaching, fast.
"Something is coming towards us" She said, picking up an accelerating heartbeat approach. "They are on the same floor as us."
"any idea where they are coming from?" Midoriya asked, quickly looking around the different doorways as well as the connecting corridor.
"No idea, but they are heading straight towards us" She continued, unable to pinpoint the exact way they are moving.
Jiro quickly put it together, realising what was about to happen as she removed her jack from the wall, looking at it. "MIDORIYA GET DOWN!" she shouted as she jumped at him, tackling him to the ground as the wall they were just hugging exploded outwards. The force caused rubble to quickly dispel across the corridor, leaving the two of them coughing. Both of them quickly turned around to see Kirishima grinning down at them, his entire body hardened before jumping at them, fist raised.
"Knock knock!" he said with a grin, launching his fist downwards towards Jiro.
Midoriya looked up, his mask torn from the shrapnel of the wall, not letting it phase him as he quickly moved forward, tackling Kirishima around his waist as he tackled him against the ground. "Jiro go! Find the weapon ill catch up!" Midoriya said, quickly attempting to land a punch across Kirishima's face before seeing it get blocked by Kirishima's forearm, the feeling similar to punching a wall as Midoriya's knuckles sting.
Kirishima throws Midoriya off of him, using the moment of the throw Midoriya gets back on his feet as he starts running away from Jiro and the stairs.
"Hey get back here!" Kirishima said, blanking on Jiro as he quickly chases after Midoriya.
Jiro watched as both quickly ran around the corner, barely able to process what just happened as she quickly got back to her feet. She remembered what Midoriya said, nodding to herself as she ran to the stairs. As much as she wanted to go and help Midoriya she knew that would cost to much time, she had to trust him as she ran up the stairs, sticking to the plan as she ran to the top floor.
Once she got to the top floor she took a moment to catch her breath, concentrating at the task at hand as she started to go from room to room, looking for anything that could resemble a weapon or Shoji. All of the rooms seemed to be basically decorated, the occasional chair and table but mostly just boxes in corners. She gave a sigh as she began to look through more of the rooms, finding nothing. 'this is taking to long' she thought to herself, thinking to herself before coming up with an idea.
She crouched down and placed her hands on the ground, stabbing her jacks into the ground as she closed her eyes and concentrated. She could feel two erratic heartbeats on the ground floor, most likely Midoriya and Kirishima. She concentrates more, feeling a calmer heartbeat through the madness, and it was coming from the forth floor. She opened her eyes, disconnecting her jacks as she moved back to the stairs, moving down them much quieter.
She slowly crept down the stairs, looking around the corner of the stairwell to see where anything could be. As she looks down she notices a long corridor, she see's a selection of empty doorways filling the walls, the end of the corridor splitting into two paths going in opposite directions, creating a large loop around the floor. She slowly moves forward, listening out for anything that could tip her off to her opponents location. She wanted to assume that Shoji was guarding the device, but he could have moved floors just to pull her away from the weapon.
Jiro slowly moved forward, quietly moving down the corridor. She passes one of the rooms, not checking inside as she moves towards a doorway emitting a significant amount of light. She hears a footstep behind her as she turns around, seeing Shoji appear from the room she neglected, raising three of his arms upwards to smash down onto her, a look of fear covering her features.
Midoriya continued to run down the corridor, hearing Kirishima behind him. Midoriya knew he had to shake him somehow, but he wasn't certain how. He considered using One For All but he couldn't decide on how much was worth it, knowing Kirishima's resilience, if he could withstand a punch, he would be sacrificing an entire arm for nothing.
He heard yelling, quickly darting around the corner as Kirishima darted past him, his fist lodging into the wall as it cracked apart, chunks of the wall falling to the ground as he pulled his hardened fist out of the wall. "Quit running Midoriya! Or is it Deku?!" Kirishima shouted down the corridor as he continued his pursuit.
"W-What!?" Midoriya called back, confused and partly shocked that Kirishima called him that. He darted around the corner again, turning around to face him as he dug his feet into the ground.
Krishima turned the corner, facing Midoriya as he also got into a fighting stance, hopping on the spot slightly. "Well yeah, noticed Bakugo call you it when we were heading to this mornings little challenge." He said, taking a step forward as he hardened his forearms and fists.
Midoriya didn't want to reply, concentrating more on how to take him out, thinking about this morning send a shiver down his spine, though it did give him an idea. If he couldn't risk using his entire arm, then he wouldn't, only part of it. He charged forward, the sudden action catching Kirishima off guard. Midoriya moved his hand forward, flicking his finger on Kirishima's now crossed arms, preparing for the impact as One For All's power swept through the digit, instantly breaking it but also sending Kirishima flying backwards, lodging him into wall on the opposite side of the hallway.
Midoriya leaned down, gripping his wrist as he looked down at his broken finger, pain covering his face as he looks up at Kirishima. He moved forward before stopping, seeing movement down the corridor.
Kirishima slowly struggled out of the wall, landing in a classic superman landing pose as he slowly looks up at Midoriya, rubbing his bruised forearm. "y-your definitely no Deku, now prove to me you're a man!" Kirishima coughed, getting to his feet as hardened what parts of his body weren't already hard before charging forward with a guttural war cry.
Midoriya was surprised to see Kirishima still standing after that force, his attack shown to be nothing more than a distraction. He gripped another finger, flicking it as the concussive force pushed Kirishima back again, though this time he was only propelled back a few metres due to him preparing for it. "That's not how men Fight Midoriya, real men fight fist to fist!" Kirishima shouted through the force, trying to step through it.
Midoriya winced in pain as another digit was broken, he knew he had to change this. He took a step back and continued to run down the corridor, knowing he had to finish this with a single blow.
'I have to hit him with a punch, it does a lot more than the flicks but it has to be a hit to the head or he wont stay down' he thought, trying to think of how he could get his guard down. His thoughts were interrupted as he felt arms around his waist, turning around to see the red headed student tackling him, freaking out for a second before he was violently tackled to the ground.
Before Midoriya could react, Kirishima had already straddled his hips, launching punch after punch down on him. He lifted his forearms up for protection, each hit feeling like being hit by a concrete wall, shouting out in pain as his arms quickly began to bruise. He gripped one of Kirishima's hands, grappling it as he tried to stop the onslaught if even for a moment. Kirishima continued his attack, using his spare hand to punch Midoriya in the ribs, proving to be effective as Midoriya let go of his arm.
Midoriya took this chance, Kirishima distracted in his small victory to flick his chest, launching Kirishima into the air as he hits the ceiling above them. Midoriya quickly got to his knees, clenching his already broken hand into a fist as he lifted himself up on will power and adrenaline, using Kirshimas falling momentum to his advantage as he landed a solid One For All powered punch on his jaw, green electricity licking at Kirishima. The blow was catastrophic to the building, launching Kirishima through three floors of concrete before stopping, falling back down onto the second before going limp, unconscious.
Midoriya gripped his broken hand, panting before laying down for a moment, pain surging through his entire body, but he couldn't give up, not now. He stood up, heading to the stairs as he began his ascent to assist Jiro.
Jiro watched Shoji move forward, recalling what Midoriya said about him being crazy strong, and that meant one thing. Don't, get, hit. She looked to her left and acted, rolling hard to dodge the incoming hit, using the momentum of her roll to then jump forward to hopefully dodge any possible incoming secondary hit. She landed on her front, quickly turning onto her back to see where he was while also crawling away. Shoji quickly moved towards her, raising all of his hands towards her. She knew this wasn't going to work, she had to think smarter, no way could she win in a direct one versus one.
She quickly got on her feet, running in the opposite direction as she quickly turns the corner, she needed to find a place to hide so she could think. She turns her head and see's he hasn't caught up yet, quickly darting into a room, she looked around the room, hiding behind a desk. She takes a shaking breath, listening out as she tries to steady her breathing. She thought back to what Midoriya said about Shoji, able to produce multiple parts of his body.
Shoji entered the room, quietly walking in. Jiro looked around the corner of the desk, seeing Shoji's arms starting to grow a selection of ears, six currently sprouting from his arms. She knew she had to stay perfectly quiet, otherwise she would be caught, though this did give her an idea to win.
She looks around, looking at the doorway before moving to her chocker, holding onto the metal tab as to not make any noise. She wraps one of her jacks around the chocker before throwing it through the doorway, causing a series of chinking noises. This immediately catches the ears of Shoji, looking at the doorway as more ears grow out of him, running out into the main hallway as he looks for the source of the noise.
Shoji looks down, seeing the chocker as he picks it up in confusion. "Hey Shoji" Shoji immediately turns around, looking to see Jiro standing in the middle of the corridor with a sly smile, her jacks in her boots. She grins as she courses her heartbeat through her boots, amplifying the sound as two continuous soundwaves hit Shoji. He is pushed back by the wave, causing him to fall onto his back before clutching his normal ears with his hands, the others forced to endure the onslaught as his senses are overloaded, his eyes rolling into his skull before going limp.
Jiro continues the assault for a few more seconds before stopping, disconnecting her jacks from her boots as they continue to shake slightly. She looks down at the unconscious body in front of her, watching the ears form back inside of him. "Sorry dude" she said, running past him. She wanted to go check on Midoriya, but she knew helping him would be finding the weapon.
Midoriya reached the fourth floor, seeing Jiro running towards him. "Jiro, where's Shoji?" He asked, holding onto the wall with his good hand.
"He's passed out around the corne- Jesus Midoriya your arm!" she said, moving towards him quickly as she looked over his arm. "Wait where's Kirishima?" She asked.
"Passed out on the second floor." He responded.
"But if Shoji is down for the count, and so is Kirishima, then why haven't we be called out for victory?" she asked, turning around to where she left Shoji.
"One of them must still be up, get to the weapon, ill cover you" Midoriya said, pushing Jiro ahead of him as he turned his back to face the stairs, following behind her.
She wanted to protest, but she knew he was right, seeing how clear headed and in charge he was made her blush slightly, not used to this attitude from him.
They make it to the room, seeing a comically large bomb in the middle of the room, quickly moving towards the bomb. They were interrupted as a bloody and bruised Kirishima burst through the wall, charging at Midoriya as he pinned him against the wall, randomly throwing punches at him. Many missed, hitting the wall as Midoriya dodged them to his best ability. Jiro out of instinct ran to help, stabbing her jacks into Kirishima's back as she let use her heartbeat, getting Kirishima on his knees.
"get the w-weapon while I'm holding him!" Jiro shouted, Midoriya nodding as he limped to the bomb, practically falling on it as he hugs it.
Immediately there is a loud siren going off, declaring victory for the hero's. Jiro immediately disconnected her jacks, looking down at Kirishima as he passed out, falling forwards as he went limp. Jiro was left panting, not used to using her quirk with such intensity back to back, wobbling slightly. Midoriya ,oved forward, placing a hand on her shaking back. "You ok?" he asked.
"yeah I'm just peachy" she said with a chuckle, leaning into his hand slightly.
"Congratulations hero's! Medical staff will be here shortly to escort you all to medical, if you could please assist your classmates until they arrive if you are able!" All Might announced on the speakers.
The students in the control room gawk at what they just saw, both teams showing off their quirks and abilities. They saw medical robots taking Shoji and Kirishima to medical, Midoriya also being taken as Jiro walked beside him on the stretcher.
'That damn fucking nerd won' Bakugo scoffed inside his head, a rage forming in his chest as he watched his childhood punching bag actually amount to something.
"This class is intense" Mina said, clutching her arms slightly as many of the other students agreed with her, others smiling as they warmed up, looking forward to proving themselves.
At the medical centre the hero's in training were being walked into their own medical bays, the two 'villains' coming too on the way there, one with a splitting headache, the other groaning in pain. Jiro helped Midoriya into the medical bed, herself only having a few scrapes and bruises. "You seriously need to get this quirk of yours under control Izuku" She said with a small chuckle.
"Yeah I know, but ill get better with it" he said, smiling up at her before his eyes bulging slightly. "W-wait, w-what did you j-just call m-me?" he asked, his stuttering mannerism returning at full form.
Jiro blushed deeply, realising what she did as she rubbed her upper arm shyly. "W-well we've been friends for over a month now, and w-we've now even gone a mission together. I figured we we're good enough friends to not need to be so formal ya know?" She said, grabbing the ends of her jacks as she gently tapped them together, not daring to look at him in the eyes.
Midoriya was blown away, he'd never had someone feel this comfortable around him before, emotions taking a hold of him as tears formed in the corners of his eyes, a stupidly happy grin on his face. "I-I'd really like that Jiro" He said, looking up at her.
"Its Kyoka now Izuku" she said with a smile.
