AN: Waddup ya'll how you all doing? Hope you all doing well. So, this is my next Story Idea/Demo. In this chapter (if you guys don't know already) will be about Plague Tale: Innocence with Halo. Now, the story may actually differ a little bit from the story and I hope it ain't gonna make the story bad though…I hope. Without further ado, here's the demo story.

Spartan Jameson Locke stood as he looked around him. The ex-ONI Spartan is surround by trees filled with orange-colored leaves. Millions of these leaves lay on the ground. Is it Autumn? The Spartan was wondering where he was now. Was he on Earth? It seems like it. He looked down to see three Spartans laying on the ground. Spartans York, and Tex from Fireteam Freelancer and Spartan Idaho from Fireteam Blues. He was about to wake them but York and Tex woke up instead while they groaned.

"Quite a blast huh?" York remarked.

Tex stretched her arm. "How long are we out?"

"Not sure Spartans," Locke answered.

Both York and Tex looked at Locke.

"Locke, so we meet again huh," York said.

Locke nodded. The ex-ONI was introduced to Fireteam Freelancer when they had a mission together with the Reds and Blues. The Reds and Blues were…bizarre to say the least. Both York and Tex looked then around them.

"We're back on Earth?" York questioned.

"And where's everyone else?" Tex added.

"Fireteam Osiris this is Spartan Jameson Lock, anyone read me?" Locke said through the comm. but no answer. "Vale, Tanaka, Hong Dunn, Jones, anyone copy? Blue Team are you there? Chief, please respond."

York then tried using the comms. "Fireteam Freelancer do you read? This is Spartan York does anyone copy? Fireteam Reds and Blues you guys there? Any UNSC personnel out there, do you copy?" But no response. York sighed. "It's no use."

"Could be the blast. My system is kind of fizzy now," Tex said.

"Mine too," York added. "It'll pass though, nothing to worry about. We've had this all the time."

"Anyways, we better find a UNSC outpost soon," Tex suggested. "Hopefully they're still around."

The three heard snoring as they turned to see Idaho sleeping very soundly. Tex walked towards Idaho before shaking him violently.

"WAKE UP SPARTAN!"

Tex's method work as Idaho shot up.

"Wha? What's going on?!"

Idaho looked around frantically before looking at Tex. "Oh, hey Tex. Gave me quite the jolt."

Tex offered a hand to the Blue Spartan to which he accepts it.

"Thanks," he said as Tex pulled Idaho up to his feet. Idaho then briefly looked around him.

"If you're wondering where are," Tex began. "We're on Earth. Maybe."

"We won't get answers if we stand around here," Locke told the three. "Get your gears in Spartans, let's move out."

Everyone grabbed their respective weapons on the ground. Tex grabbed her MA5D Assault Rifle with a magnum pistol while Locke, York and Idaho grabbed their Battle Rifles. With York taking both the M20 Submachine Gun with Magnum pistol. Both Idaho and Locke took their Magnum pistol. The Spartans put their weapons on their back and on their thighs.

"Let's find a way out of the forest," Locke said.

"Yes sir," they said.

After what seemed to be an hour of walking in the forest the four (with their enhanced hearing) heard a chatter over the distance.

"Locals," York realized.

"Move Spartans!" Locke ordered as the Spartans sprinted through the forest.

They stopped as they spotted a man, a girl and a dog as they seemed to be trying to hunt something. But something caught their attention. The man and the girl were wearing clothing similar to that of the medieval clothing. The Spartans kept their distance, hiding in the bushes as they analyzed them.

"Why are they wearing medieval clothing?" York wondered.

"Don't know," Tex replied.

"Are they having some type of convention going on in a forest? Maybe?" Idaho guessed. "Coz this looks like a convention to me."

"Which is weird cause Cortana and her entourage are running amuck across the system," York said.

Something wasn't right. Civilians should've been evacuated in no time, getting to a safehouse or shelter. Why was the man and the girl (the Spartan assumed that she's his daughter) were chilling as if nothing happened?

"What do we do Locke?" Tex asked.

"We'll see where this goes," Locke replied.

"Huh, their English have a French accent to it," York mused.

"So, Cortana's machine warped us to France for some reason?" Tex assumed.

"Ooh, I can name the top five things to do in France," Idaho said excitedly. "Care to join the 'top five' game guys?"

"Do it later Idaho. They're moving, let's go!" Locke said.

The Spartans followed the father and daughter through the forest discreetly due to their huge size. Though Idaho has trouble keeping up, due to him not being used to stealth. York has to help him out a bit. Eventually the daughter went on ahead deeper into the forest to find her dog. Tex and Idaho went in to follow the girl while York and Locke stayed to keep an eye on the father. Tex and Idaho follow the girl as she ventured deep with Tex having to help Idaho again through the bushes, sticks and woods.

Idaho sighed. "My stealth is lacking."

"Yup," Tex said. "Can't be help though, you Reds and Blues aren't really built for stealth anyway. No offense."

"None taken."

"Don't give up Lion!" the girl said. "I'm coming Lion! Keep him there and you'll get a piece for yourself."

"I don't like where this is going," Tex muttered.

"Yeah, besides the fact that everything around us is beginning to look more eerie and creepy all of a sudden with white greyish sky and all that."

"Well…" Tex trailed off. "THAT and something else. I have a bad feeling about this."

The continued to follow the girl deeper into the forest.

"He's stopped barking…He must've found it," the girl said before going through some mud. "Argh! These breeches were almost new…Someone's not going to be happy."

"Reminds me of my dad getting mad at me getting my clothes dirty," Idaho recalled.

The girl continued searching before she saw a tree in a destroyed form. "The trees…what did that? Lion! Come here!"

Suddenly she saw the boar that she and her dog were hunting except…the boar was in a mess. It's skin and flesh were all eaten away by some unknown. "It's…it's the boar…But how? Lion couldn't have done that."

"God, look at that. You think the Covies or the Prometheans did that?" Idaho wondered.

"No, if the Covies or the Promies did we would've detected them on our HUD already. Plus, I don't know if either of them like eating boar. Maybe the Covies? But not the Promies." Tex explained.

"True," Idaho agreed.

"Lion! Come here Lion!" the girl desperately called out to her dog. The girl finally saw her dog stuck in a hold in the ground. "My dog…who…who did this?"

Her father came and caught up with her and so are the two Spartans as they met up with Tex and Idaho.

"What'd we miss?" York asked them. "How's your stealth lesson Idaho?"

"Wonderful?" Idaho sarcastically said with almost no emotion.

"Just the-"

But Tex was cut off as they heard a rumble in the hole where the dog is stuck. The dog was dragged down to the hole as the girl watched in horror. "No! Lion! No!"

The girl was about to jump in and save the dog but the father pulled her away and drew his sword. The Spartans looked on. This wasn't the Cortana's doing is it? Could it be the Flood? That's impossible. Master Chief see to it that they're all destroyed. Or could this be something else?

"What devilry is this?" the father muttered. "We must go…immediately!"

"That man is right Locke," York agreed. "Let's get the hell outta here!"

Locke nodded. "Agreed. Let's go."

The four Spartans eventually followed them to a big house which got the Spartans thinking. The house they saw looked old and medieval. Usually houses, obviously, should look modernized and less like…the ones they are seeing right now. Is this family really sticking to the Amish way of living? They continued to observe the house where there are servants and maidservants bustling about tending to their chores. Their outfits managed to surprise the Spartans even more.

"Okay, this has got to be some type of convention going on," Idaho said. "I mean how else are all these people wearing medieval costumes!"

"Maybe they're an Amish family?" York guessed.

"Other than that, something isn't right," Tex said.

The four Spartans continued to observe from afar until a group of people in armor that were riding horses arrived inside the house.

"Hey look, they even got Knights into this convention," Idaho said.

Meanwhile, Locke began thinking. 'The way those father and daughter acted like nothing happened, they everyone dresses…'

Suddenly, Locke's thoughts were cut off as they heard screams coming from the house. Along with a cry of begging for mercy.

"The hell?" York said wondering what it was about, but he also got a gut feeling that something had just gone sour.

Locke used his helmet's vision to zoom in close to the house to see what happened. He saw servants and maidservants being beaten and tortured. York zoomed in with his helmet's vision to see what happened too.

Locke said widened his eyes. "Their attacking the households…"

"What?!" Idaho said.

Tex also took a closer look before turning to face the ex-ONI agent. "Locke?"

There were no questions that need to be asked as Locke stood up. "Spartans, the light is green."

Amicia and Hugo went past all the Inquisition Knights while having to witness all their servants and maidservants interrogated and worst yet, killed. They finally found the door that leads outside. Amicia opened the door only to see one of the Inquisition Knights guarding with his back turned against them. The knight turned his back and saw the two children as they moved back in fear.

"Well, well, well," the knight said in a malicious tone. "Where d'ya think you're going kids?"

Suddenly he was hit in the back of his head by a rock as he fell to the ground unconscious. The siblings saw their mother Beatrice de Rune holding a rock before tossing it to the side.

Beatrice walked over to them. "My children."

Hugo ran and gave her mother a hug. Beatrice held her hands out to Amicia as she accepts it. The mother pulled her daughter close to her as Amicia gave her a hug too.

"What is happening?" Amicia asked.

Beatrice stood up. "Don't worry. We will be alright."

The mother then led them outside.

"Hugo, take your sister's hand. I'll go first, and you have to follow me, alright?" Beatrice explained.

The son and daughter of De Rune started following their mother. The three crouched as they did so.

"Hold your brother's hand and follow me in silence," Beatrice instructed. "All right?"

"Yes," the two said.

The siblings followed their mother to the garden as they went down the stairs quietly, not wanting to attract the guards. The guards were all over the garden.

"Guards! Watch the exists! No one gets out of here alive," one of them said.

"They are everywhere," Amicia said fearfully.

"Trust me," Beatrice said. "Through the grass, they won't be able to see us."

Amicia and Hugo looked at Beatrice as she went to the tall grass.

"Wait!" Amicia called out to her in a hushed tone.

"Mommy," Hugo said.

"Shh," the mother hushed her children.

Amicia and Hugo followed their mother to the tall grass.

"Hey, I've got another one!" a knight said.

"Who is it?"

"The gardener. Knows the family well. Says he watched the kids grow up."

Suddenly, an Inquisition knight was thrown to the garden as he skidded on the ground. They all looked to see a black armored giant, 'his' appearance was extremely intimidating. 'His' appearance sent all of the knights shivering in their boots. Even the De Rune family stopped sneaking and looked in awe at the sight of the armored giant.

"What do hell do we have here?" the giant boomed. 'His' voice low and intimidating.

"What is that?!" one of them said.

All the Inquisition Knights in the garden drew out their swords as they all watched in fear. The De Rune family looked on in shock and awe at the sight of the giant.

"He's huge…" Amicia breathed.

"Who are you? I-identify yourself giant!" one of the guards demanded.

"Who am I doesn't matter," the giant said. "Now, stand down or I'll make you stand down."

"Y-y-you're one to talk," the other stammered. "ATTACK!"

The Inquisition Knights charged as they swung their swords at the giant but their swords shattered on impact. Everyone looked in utter shock as their swords were broken with ease. What type of armor is this giant wearing?!

The giant sighed, seemingly unimpressed. "My turn."

The giant raise 'his' hand and slammed one of the guards closest to 'him' sending the guard flying. The giant began to engage hand to hand combat against the knights. The knights were sent flying all over the garden. The giant looked over to see the Inquisition knight holding the gardener. The knight trembled in fear as he just bears witness in seeing his entire comrades being taken out in one fell swoop.

The knight brought a sword up to the gardener's throat. "D-d-don't mo-"

But before the knight could finish, the armored giant quickly pulled out a knife and threw it at his leg. The knight screamed in pain as he dropped his sword before clutching his leg. The gardener then made a run for it. The armored giant picked the knight by the throat.

"You're gonna tell me what's going on here knight," the giant demanded.

"I-I-I," the knight continued to stammer.

"SPEAK UP!" the armored giant boomed.

"What's going on here?"

The armored giant looked to see more knights coming. They widened their eyes in shock at the giant.

"Who are you?!" the other knight demanded.

The giant said nothing as he threw the knight that she had in her hand to the wall.

"You dare?! ATTACK!"

The giant took on the Inquisition Knights like she did the last ones as all the Inquisition Knights were all defeated. The De Rune family looked in awe at the armored giant yet also with fear. None of the knights stood a chance against this giant! What is this giant and where did this giant come from? Suddenly the giant turned 'his' head towards the tall grass they're in.

Tex finished off the knights that dared attacked her. Her voice modulator from her helmet helped to intimidate the knights. She gave an unimpressed expression behind her helmet. These knights are a joke. Suddenly, the Spartan noticed something among the tall grass. Tex's augmented and well-trained eye saw something on the tall grass as does her HUD. She walked over to the tall grass as she heard muffling noises. Tex pried the tall grass and was surprised to see a mother and two children. A five-year-old boy and the girl she recognized from the forest when she was with her father.

"What are you all doing?" she asked, her voice modulator still active. "Are you three hiding from the guards?"

"Please don't hurt us," the girl begged as she and the boy hid behind their mother.

"I'm not going to hurt you, don't worry," Tex assured the family but her reassurance didn't seem to be calming them down. Tex realized the voice modulator and appearance are scaring the poor family. She took off her helmet as the family looked at her in shock.

"You're a woman?" the mother said in shock as Tex nodded. "Are you knight?"

"I'm not a knight," Tex said. "It's hard to explain but my friends and I'll explain everything."

"You have friends that are like you?" the daughter asked.

Tex nodded. "Come on, let's go."

The family got out of the grass, following Tex as the Spartan put her helmet back on while switching her helmet's voice modulator back to normal. Tex turned to the mother.

"Are you hurt anywhere ma'am?" Tex asked.

The mother shook her head. "Oh, and before I forget, my name is Beatrice De Rune."

"I'm Amicia De Rune, and this is my little brother Hugo De Rune."

The little boy smiled at Tex, "Hello." His voice soft and small.

"My name is Tex."

"That's a funny name," Hugo commented.

"Hugo!" both his mom and sister said in a stern tone.

"It's alright," Tex assured them. "He's just a kid."

"How soon will we see your friends?" Beatrice asked the Spartan.

A loud scream was heard as they saw one of the guards being thrown far as he hit a brick wall, HARD. The four looked to see Idaho and two servants with him.

"And stay down," he told the knight.

"Idaho," Tex said as he walked towards him.

Beatrice and Amicia went to the servants while Hugo went to see the blue armored Spartan.

"How'd it go on your end?" Tex asked.

"Tried asking the guard nicely but he preferred the hard way," Idaho explained.

"At least the servants are safe."

Idaho then noticed Hugo staring at him in awe. The expression from the little boy screamed innocence and adorableness.

"Hey there little guy," Idaho greeted as he crouched down to the boy's level. "What's your name?"

"My name is Hugo De Rune."

"My name is Idaho."

"You all have such strange names," Hugo commented.

"Well," Tex began as he crouched to Hugo's level. "That's because we're named after cities that are actually not from around here."

Hugo's eyes suddenly sparked with interest. "Really? You mean there are places out there?"

Tex smiled behind her helmet as she rubbed the little boy's head. "Yup."

Idaho looked at Tex as he smiled at her. She really had changed quite a lot after the supposedly KIA status of almost all Fireteam Freelancer, save for Carolina and Washington. Tex wasn't always like this, same goes for South and Wyoming. She was now less cold, distant, overconfident and less arrogant. She was more trusting towards her friends only acting hostile aggressive and ruthless when she really needs to.

"We have to find the rest of the servants," Beatrice proclaimed. "Hopefully we're not too late."

"Two of our friends are looking for the rest of them," Tex said as she stood up and walked towards Beatrice and the others.

"Tex, it's York, I found the servants," the Spartan said through the comm.

"Good, what about the knights?"

"I took one of them out, the other ran away."

"What about the servant?"

"She's safe."

"Right, find the rest of the servants. Hopefully Locke can find the rest too."

"You got it, York out."

Tex turned to the civilians. "I'll help find the servants. You folks stay with him." Tex gestured to Idaho as the mother nodded. "Idaho?"

"Say no more," he replied before giving a thumbs up to her. He then looked down at Hugo. "Come on."

"I'll be back," Tex said as she went to find the servants.

"Mommy," Hugo said. As he walked towards his mother.

"We cannot thank you enough," one of the servants said to Idaho.

"Don't mention it, I'm always happy to serve," Idaho said.

"So, what now?" Amicia asked her mother.

Before Beatrice could say anything Hugo suddenly clutched his head.

"Ow, my head."

Beatrice crouched to Hugo's level as she stroked the child's head gently. "Breathe Hugo…Like I showed you."

"What's wrong with him?" Amicia asked.

"Yeah, what's wrong?" Idaho chimes in, also curious and concerned for the kid.

"His illness has awoken…we have to take him to Laurentius," Beatrice said.

"Who's he?" Idaho wondered.

"The doctor?" Amicia asked.

"Yes, he helped me treat Hugo. He will look after you."

"And…what about you?" You have to come," Amicia insisted.

"I must lead the servants to seek refuge. You do not need me Amicia, you are-"

"But I do need you! I need you!"

Before Beatrice could reply, dozens of loud footsteps we're heard. They all looked to see Tex, the maidservants, manservants, Locke and York coming towards them.

"Locke, York, I want to introduce you two to someone," Tex said.

"Sure," York said.

The two followed the female Spartan to the mother.

"Locke, York, this is Madam Beatrice De Rune, the mistress of this household," Tex introduced. "Madam, these two are my friends. Spartans Jameson Locke and York."

"It's a pleasure to meet you ma'am." Locke greeted. The two Spartans took off their helmets as Locke extended his hand out.

"Likewise," as she shook his hand. She then shook hands with York. Beatrice looked round before turning to face the armored giants. "Can I speak with you four?"

Locke nodded. "Of course. Idaho!" The ex-ONI called out to the blue armored Spartan. Idaho looked at Locke as he was talking to both Amicia and Hugo.

"Yeah?"

Locke gestured the blue armored Spartan to come here.

"Coming!" Idaho looked at the siblings. "Locke's calling me. Talk to you guys later ok?"

Hugo nodded. "Ok."

Idaho walked over to where the three Spartans the mother are at.

"What's up?"

"Right, I know we've just met," Beatrice began. "But I want you four to take both my son and daughter to the doctor named Laurentius."

"No problem ma'am," York said.

"Where's the doctor located?" Locke asked.

"My daughter Amicia knows the way to the doctor, hopefully. Please, protect my children at all cost."

"No problem ma'am," Idaho said.

"I already had a contingency plan in place should this ever happened to us. I must take my servants and maid servants to a place near the docks so that they can take refuge and be safe there. After I'm done sending them there, I hope I'll be able to divert the Inquisitions attention to me. I will not let anymore die today, nor do I wish any trouble befalling my two children. The house is lost. More and more Inquisition Knights will come."

Locke nodded. "Understood, but what about you Madam Beatrice?"

"Won't they kill you?" York asked.

"No, they won't. And with any luck I hope that I'll be able to evade them. I wish I could explain everything, but there isn't much time."

"Alright then," Locke said. "Will you need an assist? I can send two Spartans to assist you to seek refuge."

Beatrice shook her head. "That won't be necessary. I can handle everything."

Locke nodded. "Understood ma'am."

Beatrice smiled "Thank you all."

The mistress then walked towards her children.

Amicia looked at Beatrice "Mother?"

"The four armored giants will protect you and Hugo from now on," Beatrice said.

"But, but, but mother I-"

Amicia's voice was cut short. "When this is all over, come find my near the docks. I'll be there. Now come on, there's no more time to explain my daughter," she then turned to the Spartans. "This is where we part ways."

The Spartans nodded their heads at her. Beatrice began calling to all the servants to pack whatever they can and leave the De Rune household as soon as possible.

"Guys, we gotta go. Ya'll are gonna meet your mom again ok? Tex assured the two children.

"But…I-"

Tex took off her helmet before grabbing Amicia's shoulder softly. The black-armored Spartan gave the girl a pleading look.

"Please, Amicia."

The elder sister hesitated before finally agreeing.

Beatrice then came to the Spartans once again. "Follow this path and it will lead to the back door."

"You got it," York said.

"Amicia! Hugo!" the mother called out to them as the two gathered before their mother. Beatrice then gave one final hug to her children before kissing them on the head. "We'll meet again my children. I love you." Amicia and Hugo nodded as the mother stood up. "Follow the river, it will lead you to the doctor. Be careful everyone."

The Spartans and the two children nodded.

"Good luck to you to ma'am," Locke said.

The mother replied with a nod and a smile before going towards the servants and maid servants telling them to pack their things up quickly.

"Let's go Spartans," the ex-ONI said.

The Spartans and the two children made through the garden and finally to the backdoor of the house.

"This the backdoor?" York asked.

Amicia nodded. "It is."

York opened the door as they all went out of the house.

"Kill the sister! Take the boy alive!" a voice shouted.

"Aw dam*," York cursed.

"Idaho, Tex, take the kids to the river! York and I'll cover you!" Locke instructed.

"Got it," Tex replied. "Let's go kids!"

Amicia, Hugo, Idaho and Tex ran through the forest as Inquisition Knights are closing in from both the right side and the left.

"Where's Lord Nicholas?!" a Knight questioned.

"He's gone back to the citadel to inform them of the armored giants!"

"Hugo, run, run as fast as you can!" Amicia exclaimed.

A please almost hit them but Tex, with her quick reflexes, caught the spear before she and Idaho returned fire, killing most of the knights. The ground suddenly began to shake.

"The ground is shaking. Amicia the ground is shaking," Hugo said, his voice full of fear.

"Don't stop, they're right behind us," Amicia told him.

Back with Locke and York, the two Spartans took out the Inquisition Knights. The two used the SRS99D Sniper Rifle they took from their pocket storage provided by Exuberant Witness.

"Let's get the hell outta here Locke."

"Agreed."

The two stowed the snipers away as they ran off to meet up with the two children and Spartans with great speed.

"The hell's goin' on?! Ground's shaking!" York exclaimed.

"We'll find out soon enough. Keep running!"

Grounds began to explode as something cam out of the ground. The two were taken aback as they saw what looked to be…a swarm of mice coming out of the ground.

"What the hell?! Mice?!" York exclaimed.

York and Locke then finally caught up with the others.

"Took you guys long enough!" Tex said as the group kept running. The Spartans then began to shoot at the mice that dares came towards them. Both Locke and York began to equipped themselves with M45D Shotguns as they began shooting.

"Are we…are we going to die?" Hugo questioned.

"No! We have to lose them!" Amicia replied.

"We'll live as long as we don't stop running!" Idaho said.

"We're here! It's the river!" Locke told them.

"Take a deep breath," Amicia told Hugo. "Jump!"

The six of them jumped down to the river below.

The six safely got out of the river. Amicia was panting with exhaustion while the four Spartans were…actually still fine. Tex went to Amicia to help her.

"That's it. Take it easy." Tex said. "York can you check the kid?"

"On it!"

Amicia was about to stumble to the ground but Tex quickly caught her. "Easy."

Amicia nodded. "The village must be further on. Someone there should be able to help us find Laurentius."

Amicia kept walking as she staggers with Tex still helping her. She rests a hand on a tree as she kept breathing heavily.

"Hugo…Hugo?" Amicia said as she looked back to her brother. Hugo sat there on the ground, his head down.

"You okay kid?" York asked as he bend down to Hugo's level as he put his giant hand behind the poor boy's back to comfort him. Amicia walked towards them.

"Mommy won't be happy…when she found out I fell in the water," the little boy said.

"Well…let's not mention when we see her alright?" Amicia said as Hugo nodded. "Come on, first we have to get dry."

What the group didn't know is that they're going to be in one heck of a journey. They don't know what's in store for them but they're ready to take on whatever challenges gets thrown at them.
