The first time that Jacoba met Maggie! I haven't really been sure how to write Maggie, so that is why I haven't included her regularly. I don't know if she will appear in any more in the future or not, so we will see.

The legalities: I do not own any of the Expendables franchise (characters, places, and objects especially) and this is mostly au.Rated M just to be on the safe side.

Also, please don't be afraid to write reviews. I would love to hear from you all!

Hope you enjoy!

Prompt: "Come on, when have my calculations ever been wrong?"

"Well…"

"Shut up, that was one time."

Jacoba just couldn't contain her giggles. This conversation was just too bizarre to not be giggling. She could take the side glares that Gunnar was sending her way if that meant that she could continue to giggle.

The new visitor next to her didn't help matters any, either. Not two hours earlier, Jacoba had come down from her spare room above Tool's Tattoo Shop (her landlord had decided that her apartment needed to be fumigated without notifying her tenants, so Jacoba was glad she had a backup place to go) to see a random Asian-looking woman sitting next to Barney, openly flirting with him. As soon as he saw her standing with a smirk and raised eyebrow, Barney had quickly waved her over and introduced her to Maggie. Jacoba had heard of her and was pleasantly surprised when the woman had gestured for her to join in on the conversation. She was still going to reserve judgement on Maggie, however; the woman was nice enough, but Jacoba just wasn't entirely sure.

For now, though, the both of them just had to get through the current pre-mission meeting. Neither of them were actually needed for the meeting, but Barney had asked them to sit in on it. And it had been a very bizarre one so far. The mission, as Barney described it, would include the team blowing something up, which got Gunnar started. He had, apparently, figured out a "better" (in his mind at least) compound for their explosives and wanted to use it on this mission in order to test out his theory. All Jacoba had to do was share a glance with Maggie before they both had burst into the giggles.

So far, aside from the side giggles, Gunnar was acting as through the principle of (mostly) ignoring the two women would mean that they weren't actually laughing at him and his ideas. And he was definitely failing at that. "Guys, I'm sure that this combination will work better! Don't you believe me?"

"Viking," Caesar started a bit hesitantly. "We are just a bit skeptical. You know?"

Gunnar gave him a droll look. "Oh, come on, guys. When have my calculations ever been wrong?"

Jacoba snorted as Maggie's giggles turned into full blown laughter, causing the rest of the team to turn towards them in confusion. Well, Gunnar was still glaring. "Well, Viking," Jacoba began after she'd sobered slightly. "Which example do you want? The chemical lab we were stuck in? Or that one in the nuclear mine that everyone keeps eluding to and never actually told me about?"

The tops of Gunnar's ears started to redden as he glared at her and the rest of the team began to chuckle. "Shut up, Amazon. Those were isolated incidents."

"No, they weren't," was chorused around the room as everyone began laughing much harder. Barney just shook his head. There was no way that he was getting control over the rest of this meeting again. Oh, well.
