Santana enjoyed watching the hostess scramble away from the podium although it confused Brittany "They're getting us a table." Santana explained as the staff scurried around.
"They look afraid." Brittany frowned.
"We had a misunderstanding early on but now we're fine." Santana promised, she didn't want Brittany to know the staff was afraid of her because she'd gotten the previous manager fired. "How about after this I show you this duck pond by my office?"
"Ducks?" Brittany fought to contain her excitement.
"Mmm hmm." Santana nodded catching the manager's eye who nodded and gestured to the table now set for two. "How has your morning been?" Santana asked leading Brittany to the table.
"The usual, the kids are great, it's so awesome when you see them get the move for the first time." Brittany beamed. Santana smiled pulling out Brittany's chair, pushing it in when the blonde sat down Santana took her seat listening to Brittany gush about the kids in her class, she was so proud of each of them and their accomplishments. "What about you?"
"Matt moved into his office today and hopefully pulled in a new recruit, we put cameras up at Pierce's place and two of my best people are watching it today." Santana said nodding and taking the menus from the waitress who left two baskets of breadstix. "Quinn hired an assistant and they're looking for bow tie boy's soul mate."
"Really? That's so nice, he's been miserable since him and Kurt broke up." taking the menu from Santana Brittany looked it over, it was no different than the Breadstix by her studio, except quicker service. "You look beautiful today."
Blushing Santana tucked a strand of hair behind her ear "You look beautiful too."
"I love your hair down." Brittany admitted, Santana already knew, it was the reason she wore her hair down when she knew she would Brittany.
Santana would deny it but she blushed more at the complement "I really haven't worn my hair down in centuries, the first time was when Quinn dragged me out."
"I'm glad she dragged you out." Brittany smiled putting down the menu and taking Santana's hands.
"Me too." Santana smiled adjusting their hands so she could run her thumbs over Brittany's knuckles. Santana was slowly letting her walls down but her guard was always up. "My friends and my mom would like to meet you."
"Really?" Brittany bit her lower lip.
"I thought a couple weeks we could have a get together at my place, you bring Mike and Tina with you." Santana repeated what she'd mentioned to Karofsky and Beiste earlier. "If you're okay with it."
"I do want to meet more of your friends and your mom." Brittany admitted before asking nervously "Do you think they'll like me?"
"Of course they will, you're adorable." Santana smiled.
Glancing around Santana couldn't see anyone specifically watching her and Brittany but the feeling was back, someone was definitely following her.
"Is everything okay?" Brittany noticed the change in Santana.
"I feel like someone's watching us, I just can't see who it is." Santana admitted.
"Should we call somebody?" Brittany whispered.
"No." Santana shook her head "I got this." Santana promised, It didn't look like it but Santana was well armed and armored at all times thanks to Hephaestus and Matt. "And I got you this." letting Brittany's hand go Santana reached into her suit pocket pulling out a small flat square box.
"Ooh." Brittany smiled as Santana slid it over to her. "What's this?"
"Since I can't always be around I want to make sure you're always safe." Santana admitted.
"That's sweet but I don't fight," Brittany hated violence.
"Trust me." Santana chuckled, Brittany eyed the box before tugging the lid off.
"Oh! It's like yours." Brittany picked up the silver bracelet with a dangling heart charm.
"Exactly like mine." Santana nodded, taking the bracelet Santana put it on Brittany's right wrist. "Hephaestus made it, it morphs into body armor."
"Seriously?" Brittany gasped eyeing the bracelet.
"Quinn and Matt have necklaces," Santana explained, "double tap and say armor and it deploys. I know you don't fight but this can protect you until I get to you."
"Thank you." Brittany beamed, bringing Santana's hand up Brittany kissed the back of it. Santana blushed.
He didn't call, Noah Puckerman was standing in the lobby, jeans and a button up shirt with a tie his hair was less mohawk and more high and tight "I came to accept the job, my brother's mom said it was best to reply in person and properly dressed." he explained shaking Matt's hand.
"Alright, let's go to my office and get this paperwork taken care of." Matt gestured to the elevators. "Santana wanted you to know we will cover moving expenses for your family, we can help find jobs in the area."
"My mom's gonna stay where she is but I'm still bringing my sister and brother and his mom." Puck said like it was no big deal, Matt understood, some gods were horrible parents and some mortals too.
"We have a realtor that can help find places." Matt said pushing the elevator call button.
"That's cool, thank you." Puck bobbed his head.
"We take care of our own." Matt walked into the elevator waiting for Puck, once the door closed Matt started "You'll start your training with the mortals from the club, first day is a bunch of rules and slides, it's boring but it's a must. Rule one for you is don't tell them you're a god."
"Not somethin' I broadcast, I get enough crap from my cousins about being a god of sexuality and not something more serious." Puck shook his head.
"My dad's Hephaestus."
"And you're not an engineer or something like that?" Puck asked following as their short ride in the elevator was over.
"Naw, more fun working with Santana." Matt chuckled. "My sisters, they're both younger, one's in college for engineering the other for architecture."
"I wanna get my sister away from it, both mom and dad are gods of sexuality they don't see anything wrong with it but I want her to know she has choices. I don't want her thinking what my parents do is normal, dad screwed around on mom and then she tries to kill the women in typical jealous god fashion but she forgives my dad like it's not his fault." Puck sighed "I want my sister to see that mortals aren't play things."
"You've come to the right place." Matt promised gesturing to the chair across from his.
