I apologize, between school and unexpected drama it took longer than expected
"Better?" Santana gruffed stepping out from the dressing room.
"Yes," Mercedes nodded "now you look like a hot 20 something and not my mom."
"One, I'm hot no matter what I wear" Santana pointed warningly at the other girl who just chuckled, it wasn't that she didn't know what Santana and Quinn were capable of but she knew they wouldn't do it to her. "and two, your mom's hot."
"Shut up." Mercedes laughed. "Put it in the buy pile." the buy pile was a dress rack with a growing number of items hanging from it.
"And what about you?" Quinn asked stepping out of her dressing room.
"I just shopped last week, not here, sorry Sugar!" Mercedes called over her shoulder.
"That's okay." the woman called back from the front of her store, she was having fun dressing her mannequins "I know you'll make up for it today."
"Yes we will." Mercedes nodded. Mercedes wasn't going to try anything on but she was going to spend money just the same. "Ladies I want a look before you think about changing out of those clothes."
Slowly peaking out of the dressing room Marley said "I have no place to wear clothes like these."
"You sing in a club almost every night, you have a place, now let me see." Mercedes pointed to the floor in front of her.
The clothes that Sugar's place carried were as different as the goddess herself, everything from simple and cheap to insanely expensive, Mercedes knew where Marley and Unique were pulling clothes from. Slowly stepping out Marely held her hands in front of her fingers locked, chewing her lower lip she waited.
"Oh honey you are beautiful." Santana smiled at the young mortal causing her to blush and drop her head.
"That's a keeper." Mercedes agreed. "Unique?"
"This is fabulous." Unique stepped out head held high with her hands on her hips.
"Drinks ladies!" Sugar called as she opened the door to the shop to let Sunshine back in, a teenaged boy from the coffee shop was with her to help carry everything over.
"Yes!" Santana bolted back into the changing room quickly returning in her original clothes, albeit barefooted, to take her coffee from Sugar who had given the boy money and taken the coffees from him. Closing her eyes Santana moaned "I love you."
"Should I be jealous?" Brittany teased knowing her girlfriend had just told the coffee clutched in her hands that she loved it.
"Mmm." Santana took a quick drink before promising Brittany "I love you more." Unique giggled, Brittany and Quinn blinked, of all the ways they had thought to hear Santana confess her love to Brittany, flippantly wasn't one of them and by Santana's wide eyes the Latina hadn't meant to either. "I uh..." Santana fully faced Brittany waiting for her reaction, of all the things they'd said to one another they'd never uttered those three words.
Brittany was grinning, recovered from the shock of her girlfriend admitting she loved her, it didn't matter that they were soul mates or that Brittany herself had said they were going to get married, neither had said it, they just knew they both did. "I love you more than dance." Santana smirked before closing the gap between them to carefully, yet passionately kiss Brittany without spilling either of their drinks. Sugar squealed applauding them.
Sighing Quinn sat her drink down before taking both Santana and Brittany's freeing both of their hands and instantly regretting it, reminding her Santana as her hands began to wander to Brittany's ass "We're in public ladies, keep it PG, hands above the waist Santana or I get a fire hose."
Brittany giggled pulling her face away from Santana's but staying in the Latina's arms that held her tightly.
It was two more hours of trying on clothes, jewelry and Quinn pulling the now constantly kissing duo apart, before they decided to stop and go back to Mercedes place for a late lunch, and it was only because Quinn could see how Marley continued to frown while looking at the clothes piled on the chair in front of her. "Bring it up." Quinn gestured to both Marley and Unique.
"I really..."
"As your godmother I get to spoil you, so bring it up and let me pay, you too, put the card away." Quinn shook her head at Unique.
"We dragged you out," Santana spoke up "it's only right we pay, you too." Santana looked to Tina and the credit card in her hand.
Knowing better than to argue with her godmothers Marley placed her stuff on the counter next to Quinn's murmuring "I really don't need all this stuff."
"None of us do, that's why it's fun and called spoiling." Santana leaned around Quinn shoving her card in Sugar's hand, she was teaching the young woman Sunshine how to work the register for her first sale. "You can catch tomorrow." Santana suggested when Quinn poked her in the ribs.
"Fine."
Mercedes chuckled, like her the goddesses had amassed sizable fortunes over the years simply because of their ages and their companies they ran in the mortal world. It wasn't until they met Millie Rose that they began a more philanthropic way of dealing with their money, before Millie it sat in the bank and was used for business, travel or food. Since Millie the trio had used their money for her, whatever she needed they gave her it had been an argument at first, she didn't want to take advantage of them, she wanted to work for everything she was given so Mercedes bought the bar and Millie became the cook.
"We'll go back to my place for lunch and see if we want to do anything else before clubbing tonight." Mercedes said moving so Brittany and Tina could get in the line with their items.
"Do they do this every time they see you?" Unique whispered to Marley.
"No, but I haven't seen them in three years." Marley admitted, they'd given her gifts since the time they met her when she was fourteen, they'd paid for her therapy, Mercedes had given her mom a job with the best insurance possible. Even though they hadn't seen her for a few years they still sent her birthday and Christmas presents.
They brought their bags up to the conference room, Millie shook her head cornering Quinn and Santana "What did I tell you two?"
"That you like us despite our money." both girls mumbled, it didn't matter that they were older than Millie, they respected her as they did their own mothers. They knew other gods would laugh if they knew how a mortal woman spoke to them without retribution.
"Then why this?" she gestured to her daughter and Unique with the bags in hand.
"Because you and Marley are the most giving people we know and we want to make sure you have everything you need." Quinn explained.
"As beautiful as this scarf is, one from a second hand store would keep me just as warm." Millie gestured to a singular bag on the table.
"That wasn't us, that was Sugar." Santana pointed out "A thank you for the recipes for her personal chef."
Millie shook her head, another one she argued with over spending money. "You girls do not need to be wasting your money on me."
"We don't think it's a waste." Santana shook her head. "With all you do, you deserve to be spoiled, you're not in it for the money, you're in it for the people."
"Then help me with the people." Millie sighed "I don't need things, I have Marley, I have a home, I have you girls, that is all I need." Millie promised.
"I can't promise we won't buy random things but we have no problem helping with your shelter and food deliveries." Quinn spoke for herself and Santana, who nodded.
"We can discuss things before we return home, but this trip we get spoil." Santana informed the woman.
"One last hurrah?" Millie asked.
"Yes Ma'am." Santana nodded "And then we'll behave...sort of." Santana couldn't lie, she knew she'd still randomly buy things.
"Not excessively." Millie pointed a finger warningly knowing she wouldn't be able to stop them.
"Yes Ma'am."
"Now show me what you've bought."
"Yes Ma'am." the sisters smiled at the younger woman knowing she was finished being mad at them.
