I apologize I'm still dealing with getting to the bottom of my thumb injury
Grinning Brittany stepped into the dance studio, "Good morning." depositing a small gift bag on Thea's desk Brittany waited for her to open it, double checking the name tag on the bag Thea reached in pulling out a coffee cup with an elephant and the zoo's name on it. "I thought since you had those little guys you might like it." Brittany gestured to a trio of inch high elephants on her desk by the new computer.
"I do, thank you." she smiled putting it on her desk.
"Mom they had a half price deal for the donuts so..." Jake stopped at the studio door, "Ms. Pierce, I didn't know you were back today." regaining his train of thought he walked to the front desk putting the drink tray with three coffees down "I would have got a coffee or donut for you."
"It's fine, I had breakfast with my girlfriend," wrinkling her nose Brittany added "and I don't drink coffee."
"Guess I'll go." Jake said taking one of the coffees and a donut from the bag in his hand before putting the bag next to the coffees on his mom's desk.
"Why?" Brittany asked.
"Um..." Jake paused unsure of what to say, choosing the obvious he pointed out "You're here."
"It's Monday." Brittany looked at him confused.
"Mike, everyone's here." Tina called over her shoulder.
"I should..." Jake thumbed to the door.
"Stay." Mike said joining them "We're going to be bouncing between the club and studio today, having you teaching a couple classes would help us out."
Shrugging Jake nodded "Okay." he was trying to look for work to keep his mother and brother off his back but he didn't mind getting paid for dancing, the little kids were pretty good at following along and didn't fight with each other.
"Cool, thanks." Mike pointed at him before pointing to Brittany and Tina. "Any other news?"
"I'm moving in with Santana." Brittany squealed.
"Wow that's great, when?" Tina asked excited for her friend.
"I don't know when, we didn't talk about that yet, I'll know at lunch." Brittany shook her head "Maybe tonight, maybe tomorrow."
"Maybe at lunch." Tina smirked, she'd learned quickly what Santana wanted, Santana got, just like Brittany.
"If she wants." Brittany chirped "I'll check in later." bouncing over to Mike she dropped a kiss on his cheek before doing the same to Tina. "I have more presents to drop off before I go to the club."
"Have fun." Tina grinned watching her friend bounce out the door, stopping she asked.
"Should I invite Rachel and them to my party? Maybe Quinn can help her too." without waiting for an answer Brittany pushed the door open giving a wave before leaving.
Mike grinned "I can't wait for this party."
"There." Quinn pointed, at one of the café tables on the fenced in patio under the awning both of their mom's sat together chatting away, obviously waiting for them "Do I look okay?"
"Yea." Santana knew Quinn was talking about her recovery and not just her make up, only Quinn could answer if she was up to full strength but with the question Santana knew her sister wasn't. "Hi Mami." Santana called out causing not just her mother to look her direction but other café customers as well.
Looking up from her stand the hostess smiled, the sisters went to the café enough to be recognized by the staff. "Good morning."
"Good morning, we're joining our mothers." Quinn nodded to the older women.
"Of course." reaching over she unlatched the gate behind her, normally a staff entrance or exit but she knew he boss wouldn't mind. "Just step through here, no need to walk all the way around."
"Thank you." Quinn smiled stepping through first. Both their mothers stood waiting for them, handing her mother a small bag Quinn hugged her. "Good morning."
"I'm so happy you're feeling better." Judy sighed holding her daughter tighter for a few seconds.
"I am." Quinn promised, stepping back she hugged Maribel when Santana released her, Santana doing the same with Judy.
"So what's the gossip?" Santana asked sitting down and handing her mom the bag she still had in her hand.
"We were discussing your father." Judy chuckled seeing Santana roll her eyes "You do know that he's going to want to formally meet Brittany."
"He's not coming to party, I don't need him ogling Brittany's friends or..." Santana gestured to both older women across from her "so, no. Maybe a lunch or something but nothing with a group of women he'll slime all over." Santana shook her head "No, no thank you. I don't know about Quinn but I don't want any more siblings." she shook her head trying to rid herself of the image of her dad putting the moves on her and Quinn's moms. Quinn chuckled but agreed.
"We'll take him to lunch."
Judy peaked into the bag "What is this?"
"Just something we picked up." it was postcards and jewelry, they always got their moms jewelry when they saw something they thought the women would like.
Judy and Maribel pulled out the postcards from the zoo first, Santana of course getting her mom one that had panthers on it, Quinn picked one with the gorillas, her mom thought they were adorable. "Thank you." both their mothers smiled before taking the tissue paper from the bags.
"We had them last month but..." Quinn let the rest of the statement drop, they knew she meant everything happened had put a halt to them giving the gifts to them.
Pulling out little boxes, it was easy to see they both had a bracelet and from the long skinny box and a ring from the small square one. "They're beautiful girls." Judy's a simple tennis bracelet was set with rose quartz stones with diamonds between them, Maribel's a braided open ended bracelet with jade and rose quartz stones. Judy's ring was a heart cut rose quartz with two smaller diamonds flanking it, Maribel's ring held two smaller heart cut stones side by side, jade and rose quartz.
One thing the mortals got right was Aphrodite's love of rose quartz, it was a symbol of love, the mortals called it a love stone they said it had certain properties to help reignite love. Judy had many different pieces of jewelry that were rose quartz.
"Thank you girls." Maribel smiled, she knew the bracelets were from Santana and the rings were from Quinn, it was just something the girls did. "You both look nervous, is something going on?"
"I...have decided to talk to my soul mate." Quinn said toying with her napkin. "I just hope he is ready." she didn't want to say changed, she just wanted mature, she was finished partying and hoped he had too. Everything she'd heard about him since he'd come to town said he had. "He's actually joined Santana's company and is working at Brittany's club as security."
"I look forward to meeting him." Judy smiled, she learned long ago not to push Quinn for information, the blonde would share what she wanted.
"Brittany's moving in." Santana said quietly, Maribel smiled, love had always confused Santana she was definitely more Ares in temperament.
"How does that make you feel."
"I wanna throw up." Santana admitted, Quinn nodded in agreement.
"Love is scary, exciting, a mystery" Judy reached over giving Quinn's hand a squeeze "it is everything all at once and it can be overwhelming, but you two are and will continue to handle it in the best way for you."
"Thank you." Santana nodded to the older Greek goddess, Quinn gave her mom's hand a squeeze.
Matt was in his office before Santana arrived, he had things already set for the day including the final check on the club. "We got you presents." Quinn held up a gift bag "Cedes said stay at her place for your anniversary, plus she wants to set you guys up a spa date. Totally worth it." both girls held up their hands wiggling their fingers.
He followed them back to Santana's private break room where they both handed him the bags they were carrying. "So how were the zoo and aquarium?"
"Aquarium was closed and the zoo was interesting." Quinn smirked looking at Santana, Matt looked between the two women confused.
"The cats were watching me," Santana said practically flopping down into her oversized beanbag chair "thought it was B'sst, it wasn't, it was the jaguars."
"So your people..."
"Can't control jaguars, they are ancient gods, Mom can pull the partial transformation like B'sst the who cat head thing." Santana shrugged, she'd only heard about it it wasn't something her mother had ever done in front of her. "Makes me wonder if older gods can pull full transformations." Santana knew more about the Greeks than the Mayans because of her banishment, her mom had told her as much as she could remember including all her different roles as a Mayan goddess. But having been angry about the banishment Santana didn't want to know about them.
"We should have told her about it." Quinn realized.
"I will." Santana promised before turning her attention to Matt "Open."
Pulling out the hoodie Matt didn't have to ask why they didn't get his wife one, they knew she would take it so the ballcap was more for him.
Brittany grinned seeing her mom at Pierce's "Well this saves time." she chirped holding up two small gift bags, despite Santana telling her she could get them anything she wanted Brittany stuck with what she initially chose, keychains. Handing Pierce his she explained "I heard you say bats are good luck so I bought you these." digging in his bag Pierce pulled out keychains, one with each type of bat currently at the zoo. "Santana said the Mayans thought they were bad luck."
"Different cultures will see the same animal differently." Whitney explained.
"I will put one on my work keys and one on my home keys." he smiled showing Whitney.
"That's nice." she smiled back at him.
"I go you this." Brittany handed her mom her bag.
Pulling out the key chain Whitney smiled, she loved butterflies "Thank you." giving Brittany a hug she asked "How was your trip?"
"I met her friends and we went to a spa, shopping and the zoo and more shopping." Brittany rambled excitedly "They're going to come for my party."
"Party?" Whitney asked.
"We're having a party so we can meet each others friends," Brittany said before asking "Rachel's loud should I invite her?" Pierce chuckled. "Oh and I moving in with Santana." Brittany squealed, Pierce did as well excited for Brittany, both missing the shocked look on Whitney's face.
