Happy Halloween, Everyone!

Time Skip

It was morning. I woke to see Giles coming in with Elijah, Klaus, and Finn as they carried their coffee and tea. I looked to the cage to see a human very naked Oz lying there. Giles and the boys noticed us before they came over and saw the books lying around us.

"Hey," I said as Buffy stirred awake.

"Hmm. Hello," Giles replied before sipping his coffee.

Buffy and I realized the books around us looked suspicious with their titles.

"Oh. Boy," Buffy voiced as she stood up and continued. "Faith and her nutty books."

"Exploring Demon Dimensions and Mystery of Acathla," Elijah read the titles.

"Yeah! And she still listens to heavy metal," Buffy said as she walked towards the stair. "Freak deaky."

"Girls..." Klaus said as we realized they weren't buying it while Giles leaned against the railing.

They gave us their attention before they came over to us.

"What if... I told you that... I had a dream about Angel... and, um... it brought up some questions?" I suggested.

"I'd say it was to be expected. Must have been some dream," Finn responded.

"I didn't think you what a card index was for," Giles stated as he sipped his coffee.

"I dreamt that he came back," I told them as Elijah pulled me into his arm in comfort.

Buffy sat down the steps before Giles sat down next to her.

"Of course. After Jenny was killed," Giles said as he set his cup aside before continuing. "I had dreams that she was s-still alive, that I saved her."

"This was vivid. Really vivid. Three-dimensional, sensurround, the hills are alive..." I replied before stopping as I realized my use of Jenny's metaphor.

"Do you believe it was the prophecy?" Klaus asked as Giles took off his glasses.

"No. I-I don't know. I..." I answered as I inhaled before speaking again. "I guess it just... it made me wonder."

Giles looked away in thought as Buffy spoke this time.

"Is there a chance even? Could it happen?" Buffy suggested.

"Well, there's no record of anyone returning from a demon dimension once the... gate was closed. I-I-I can't imagine how it could happen or-or why," Giles responded.

"Let's just pretend for a second that... Angel somehow found his way back to Sunnydale. What could he be like?" I asked.

"We can't really say, from what is known about that dimension. I-it would suggest a world of... brutal torment. And time moves quite differently there, so..." Giles answered.

"I remember. So, he would've been down there for hundreds of years," I voiced.

"Yes," Giles said as he looked at me.

"Of torture," Buffy added for me.

"It would take someone of extraordinary... will and character to survive that and, uh, retain any semblance of self," Giles said as he swallowed hard before continuing. "Most likely, he'd be, be a monster."

"A lost cause," I said with no hope.

"Maybe. Maybe not. In our experience, there are... two types of monsters. The first can be redeemed or more importantly wants to be redeemed," Finn told me.

"And the second type?" I asked.

"The second is void of humanity, can't respond to reason or love," Elijah answered as Jenna, Kate, Kyra, Persephone, and some of the group came into the room.

"Morning, Buffy, Aurora, go get dressed and come back for breakfast," Jenna said as Kate handed me a bag while Kyra handed Buffy her bag of clothes.

Buffy and I headed out of the library before we headed to the nearest bathroom.

When we got to the bathroom, I quickly got out of my dirty patrol clothes before getting dressed in clean clothes for the day.

"Aurora, are you going to tell Elijah about Angel?" Buffy asked as she changed.

"Yeah. When we're nowhere near Giles and the gang," I answered as I put my dirty clothes and shoes into the bag before zipping up my boots.

I smoothed out my dress before making sure my tights were straight. I then added the jewelry. I brushed my teeth before pulling my hair back into a ponytail.

"Are you done?" I asked her.

"Yeah," Buffy answered as she came out of the stall with her dirty clothes in the bag.

Buffy brushed her teeth before pulling her hair back into a ponytail.

"Let's go eat breakfast," I voiced before we headed back to the library.

When we walked back into the library, Willow joined the group as she helped lay out breakfast on the study table.

"I thought Faith was on duty," Willow voiced as she saw us coming back in.

"Oh, hey. Change of plans," Buffy said as we walked over.

"What's for breakfast?" I asked.

"Spice or Jelly? It was fun watching them making the food this morning," Willow said as she gestured to the food with a smile.

"Couldn't sleep, huh?" I questioned.

"I've been wanting to watch you guys make what you bring us since the TV did that snowy thing," Willow sighed.

"Breakfast today is Pumpkin French Toast Cassourel, Buttermilk Pumpkin Donuts, Cranberry Jelly Donuts and Caramel apple Cider," Kate told me.

We heard the cage door open as Oz came out dressed.

"How come you're the wakey Girl? I mean, this time, it's not your boyfriend who's the cold-blooded..." Willow asked.

We looked behind as we got our breakfast together before starting to eat.

"Breakfast?" Willow asked as she gestured to the table.

"Everything all right?" Oz questioned as he ignored breakfast.

"Yeah. Uh, what happened with the inspection of the body?" Kyra asked.

"Anyone? They look yummy and delicious!" Willow said as she avoided the issue.

I took a bite of the french toast as Persephone played with her baby toy.

"Willow, was it a werewolf?" Jo asked.

Willow sat down and took a sip of the caramel apple cider as she tried to now show she was anxious.

"Was it a vampire?" Rebekah asked.

"I-it wasn't conclusive," Willow told us.

"How could it not be conclusive? What did it look like? Was he bit?" Buffy questioned.

"Let her finish, Buffy," Dean voiced.

"No, it's just..." Buffy started before realizing it was the sensitivity of the issue and apologized. "I'm sorry."

Buffy sat down and started eating as we listened to Willow's report before everyone got down to eating breakfast.

A Slight Time Skip

After breakfast, we headed to our classes, and now, it was lunchtime. We were in the cafeteria as we headed to a table before Buffy was waved over by Scott.

"Buffy. Over here," Scott said.

"Buffy, go be with your boyfriend," I told her as I nodded to his table.

The rest of our group headed to a table near the table.

"Hey," Buffy said as she sat down next to him.

We found a table and sat down before eating as we listened to the table next to us.

"Hey. Uh... I can't, I can't back you on that lunch. Nutritional demerits," Scott told her.

"Oh. My stomach doesn't want hard food today for some reason," Buffy said as she pointed to her food before saying. "But there's fruit in it."

"Those are marshmallows," Scott whispered.

"Oh," Buffy muttered as she looked at it.

Debbie and Pete gave her curious looks as Buffy sighed.

"I'm... I'm really out of it today. I didn't really sleep well last night," Buffy told them.

"Just don't tell Mr. Platt you have insomnia. He'll make you start a dream journal," Debbie voiced.

"Oh, what's that, like, a Barbie thing? Dear Dream Journal, how come Ken hasn't come around since he got that earring?" Pete joked.

"I never did it. He's a quack," Debbie giggled.

"I kinda liked him," Buffy responded.

"Really? I guess I guess he's kinda funny and stuff. It's just... sometimes I just don't like the things he says," Debbie returned.

"Oh, he definitely... marches to the beast of his own drummer. A-actually, I think he makes his own drums," Buffy voiced.

"Well, my mom says therapy can be completely helpful," Scott said.

"Yeah, but your mom has the wattage of a Zippo lighter, Scott," Pete replied.

Debbie giggled as the rest of us at our table tried to stifle a laugh.

"I hope you realize I don't actually know these people. I just... I thought you would like me better if I had friends, so I hired them," Scott joked.

We saw Buffy give Scott a weak smile before he turned toward her.

"So... I, uh, I wanted to tell you that you look great today. But now I wanna raise that to amazing because you didn't sleep well," Scott added.

"Uh... That's really sweet. Um... And I-I wish I didn't have to," Buffy said as she smiled and stood up before saying. "But I just remember that I have to do something with my family, uh... I'll see you later." Buffy patted him on the shoulder before looking over at us.

I nodded to her before pulling out my phone and texting her.

Be there in a minute- Aurora

Ok- Buffy

"Uh, yeah," We heard Scott say as we got up and put our garbage away.

"Check out Scotty liking the manic-depressive chick," We heard Pete tell Scott as we left the cafeteria.

After we left the cafeteria, Buffy was thinking about Pete's comment. While I texted Elijah, Klaus and Finn to meet us outside.

"Where are we going?" Klaus asked.

"We'll tell you on the way," Buffy voiced as we headed toward the direction of the manor.

On the way to the manor, we told Elijah, Klaus and Finn about Angel's return. We stopped in front of the mansion before I felt Angel's emotions were scared, unsureness and suffering.

"Are you okay, Aurora?" Elijah asked.

"Yes, let's get going," I answered as we headed into the manor.

We walked through heavy drapery as they hung across the side entrance. We could see Angel crouched against the wall, whimpering as though he was scared of us. We stopped at the far wall opposite him before looking at him as I could tell he was suffering.

"Angel?" I whispered as I slowly walked over to him.

Angel remained hunched over in his crouch, but he didn't look up, give any indication we were here or didn't seem to hear me.

"Do you understand me?" I asked him but still got no word from him.

I could see the tattoo on his back as I moved closer. I reached out toward him and touched him on the shoulder light, but he suddenly got violent and lashed out. He roared as Elijah pulled me away before Angel started to whimper again. Elijah, Sam, Cole and I looked at Angel in hurt as he didn't know us. Angel growled at us and pulled on the chain as we headed out of the mansion.

Back at the high school, Debbie and Pete were walking along a back hall as they talked.

"Debbie, come on. Just for a minute," Pete said as he took both of her hands and tried to nudge him against the wall, but she evaded him before pulling away.

"No, I can't. I have to meet a friend," Debbie replied.

"So you'll be late but happy," Pete told her as he pulled her back by her wrists.

He kissed her and reached behind him with one hand to open a door. He backed into the dark supply room and pulled her in with him. Debbie giggled as he pulled her closer into an embrace and passionate kiss.

"No, no. Let's stay here," Debbie said after Pete broke off the kiss and backed away.

"Relax, Debbie. What's wrong with you today?" Pete asked as he took her into his arms and kissed her again before he noticed an empty jar on the shelf. All that was left was a few drops of green fluorescent fluid in it before he asked. "What is that?"

"Nothing," Debbie giggled as she turned his face to hers and tried to kiss him again before telling him. "Kiss me." She kissed him.

"No. Debbie, you did not drink that, did you?" Pete questioned.

"Drink it? You know I didn't," Debbie responded as she looked at the jar and giggled.

"Debbie, what's going on?" Pete asked her as he looked at her intensely.

Debbie's giddiness faded as she looked at him nervously.

Across campus, after Aurora and the others got back from checking on Angel at the mansion. Buffy headed to Platt's office for her meeting while the others went to the library. When Buffy got to the school's counsellor's office, she opened the door, went in and closed it behind her before turning around to find him facing the window.

"Two o'clock. Buffy Summers, right?" Buffy said as she saw his signature cigarette smouldering between his fingers.

Buffy feared he would turn around and although he couldn't see her moving her arms as she gestured for him to stop before she realized it was useless.

"Wait. Don't turn around. Okay? And don't say anything," Buffy said as she clutched her jacket before continuing. "Just listen." She began to pace and breathe nervously as she spoke. "I mean, that's, that's your thing, right?" She stopped pacing and stood behind a chair while shifting her weight from leg to leg as she fidgeted with her jacket against the chair's backrest. "There's something going on." Buffy's voice began to shake. "I mean, th-this whole entire story is probably gonna convince you that I'm loony-bin material, but..." She shrugged. "...there's nobody else that I can talk to." She nervously inhaled before continuing. "Not Willow and... not Giles. Only my family and no one else." She started to pace again. "If they found out, they'd freak on us, or they'd do something, and..." She stopped and faced him. "I need help. I just... I need to talk to someone," She took a few breaths before continuing to speak. "I'm so scared." As she shed a tear. "It's this guy. H-he's..." She walked towards the desk.

Buffy noticed his cigarette now as it was completely burned down to its filter. It wasn't tapped off as the ashes were still on the cigarette before she realized something was very wrong.

"He's come back," Buffy whispered as she saw Platt's dead body.

It was severely mauled by something, whether it was by Angel or some other type of monster.

Back inside the supply room, Pete was seething with anger as he went over to the empty bottle and picked it up.

"So the bottle just..." Pete said as he faced Debbie. "...jumped out of the cabinet and spilled on its own."

"Of course not. I-I was trying to get rid of it," Debbie replied as she shook her head.

"You were trying to get rid of it?" Pete questioned.

"To help you. You know how you get," Debbie stated.

"You think this has..." Pete said as he clenched his fist. "...anything to do with how I get?"

"Well, when you drink it..." Debbie started to say.

"When I drink it, nothing, Debbie. Nothing!" Pete interrupted as she flinched before he continued. "I don't need this anymore, okay? I am way past that now." He slammed the bottle back onto the shelf. "You see?" He took another bottle and threw it on the ground, breaking it. "You see?!" He broke another. "No more." And broke another. "You could pour out everything I made, and it wouldn't help. And you wanna know why?" He grabbed her by the arms as she whimpered in fright. "You wanna know why?! Because all it takes now is you, Debbie." He gritted his teeth as he got angrier. "You and you STUPID, GRATING VOICE!"

His neck muscles suddenly became tense as he yelled out in pain before he grunted as his head jerked back and forth, and the skin on his face and neck began to thicken as the veins bulged out. Pete screamed as his head whipped around violently as Debbie watched in terror. With one final scream, Pete's transformation to his alters ego was complete as his face was mottled and grotesquely misshapen. Debbie was so frightened to even breathe as she looked at his face.

"You're the reason I started the formulas in the first place: to be the man you wanted! And you pay me back how?" Pete said in anger as he shook her by the arms. "By whoring around with other guys and taunting me!" As Debbie sobbed in fear.

"No! I don't! I don't even look!" Debbie sobbed before Pete backhand punched her in the face and shoved her to the floor.

Debbie got to her hands and knees before starting to crawl around to face and slowly stood back up.

"Is that something your shrink taught you, Debbie? Huh? Huh? To share?" Pete questioned in anger as he approached her. "To communicate? To piss me off?!"

He swung another backhanded punch at her, making her fall to the floor again but this time, she stayed down and cowered.

"Well, guess what? Even he's not going to listen to your pathetic ramblings anymore," Pete told her as she looked at him in fright. "I'm all you've got now, Debbie! Do you hear me?" As he pointed at her and continued. "I AM ALL YOU'VE GOT!"

She looked at him very afraid before pushing herself against a crate.

"Oh, my God!" Pete said as he realized what he was doing and calmed down a bit before looking at gnarled hands and then back at Debbie.

Pete calmed himself down some more as he changed back to himself before he noticed Debbie sobbing. He looked down at her with remorse before kneeling by her.

"Hey, Debbie," Pete whispered before she turned away. "Hey, listen. You know you shouldn't make me mad. Huh? You know what happens." He took her head in his hand and turned her to face him. "Debbie, please. Are you all right?"

He kissed her forehead before she responded and put her arms around his head.

"It's okay," Debbie said as she stroked his hair while they held each other. "It's okay." She kept petting him as her breathing became calmer.

Another Slight Time Skip

Across campus at the library, Buffy had joined us and told all of us about Platt while Giles paced.

"This creature is especially brutal. I believe the phrase coined by the coroner when describing Mr. Platt was pureed," Giles voiced.

"But the coroner did confirm that Platt was killed shortly before Buffy found him," Elijah stated.

"Which means that he was killed during the day," Faith responded.

"Yes!" Willow said in elation as she pumped up her fist.

I also was silently cheering as it wasn't Angel's fault for the two deaths.

"Sorry. I got..." Willow added as we gave her looks before she lowered her hand and continued. "I've just been... it's horrible, horrible." She swallowed.

"It's okay, Willow. We're all glad Oz is off the hook." Buffy told her.

"Indeed. Shouldn't he be here by now? The sun sets at 5:30," Klaus asked as he looked at his phone.

"I'll text him," Jeremy said as he pulled out his phone and started texting.

Outside in the quad, Oz looked around one last time. He started to head towards the library as Debbie ran into him.

"Sorry I'm late," Debbie said as she smiled before asking. "Did you bring the notes?"

"Yeah. Um... You okay?" Oz voiced as he noticed her black eye while handing her the notes.

"What? Oh, yeah! I'm such a klutz! I, um, oh..." Debbie laughed.

"Fell down? Hit your... eye?" Oz questioned without knowing that Pete was watching them from around the corner.

"Doorknob. Um... Thanks," Debbie said as she laughed before starting to leave.

"Hey, um..." Oz replied as he stopped her with his hand in concern. "If you wanna talk..."

"Thanks again for the notes," Debbie responded as she shook her head and smiled before leaving.

"Yeah..." Oz muttered as he looked at the sky again before quickly heading for the library without realizing Pete was still watching him before he left.

Back in the library, we were still talking about the killer of Platt and the boy.

"Our task now is to determine what sort of killer, we are dealing with. Clearly, we're looking for a depraved, sadistic animal," Giles said.

"Present," Oz voiced as he came into the library.

Willow smiled and jumped up before heading over to him.

"Hey, I may be a cold-blooded jelly doughnut, but my timing is impeccable," Oz added.

"But you aren't! I-I-it's-it's a kill-in-the-day monster! A hundred percent for sure," Willow told him as she touched him with both hands and smiled.

"Okay," Oz said in relief as he smiled.

Willow put her around him and faced the group with him as they smiled.

"Uh, I wish had time to celebrate properly. However, we have two victims: Jeff Orkin and now Platt," Elijah stated.

"Maybe they had something in common," Sam suggested.

"Missing internal organs," Faith brought up.

"Besides that," Klaus returned.

"Debbie," Oz voiced as we looked at him before he continued. "Well, victim number one, Jeff. He was in Jazz band with us. They used to horse around."

"They were screwing?" Faith suggested before we gave a look.

"I don't think so, but he hid her music comp book once," Oz stated.

"And we know that Debbie knew Platt. I mean, she was seeing him and way vocal about not having love for the guy," Buffy responded.

"Add this and stir. I just saw Debbie a minute ago sporting a nasty black eye," Oz told us.

"Okay, so pretend Debbie wanted Platt dead. Maybe he fought back," Willow suggested.

"No. Platt was dead in an instant," Buffy said as she shook her head before she continued. "He didn't even drop his cigarette."

"What if the boyfriend, Pete's the one doling out the punishment?" I questioned.

"We should find them both immediately," Finn stated as Giles and Buffy grabbed their coats.

"Well, Debbie was in the quad a minute ago," Oz told us as I followed in-suit and grabbed my jacket before pulling it on.

"All right. We'll split up. Um... Faith, you, Dean, Jo, Jeremy, Rebekah, Andy, Kol, Giles, Klaus, and I are a team. Willow, stick with Buffy, Aurora, Kate, Kyra, Sam, Cole, Elijah, and Leo. Jenna, take Persephone home," Finn told them.

"And I'll... go lock myself in the cage," Oz muttered as Willow gave Oz a saddened look before we headed out of the library.

Ten minutes later, we headed to the girl's locker room. The boys stood outside while we headed in. We found Debbie trying to hide her black eye with makeup.

"It's tricky, covering a fresh shiner like that. You know what works?" I voiced.

"What?" Debbie questioned as she put away her makeup.

"Don't get hit," Buffy told her as we walked up to Debbie at the window.

"What's going on, Debbie? I'll bet the farm, you know," Kyra asked her.

"You're wrong. I don't know anything," Debbie said as she shook her head.

"Normally, I'd say you wanna play; We have a secret? Fine. But people are dying here," Buffy replied.

"It... it's not his fault," Debbie told us as she looked at us before she continued. "I mean, he's not himself when he gets like this."

"You mean Pete," Kate responded.

"It's me. I make him crazy. H-he just does what he does because he loves me too much," an upset Debbie told us.

"But weren't Mr. Platt and Jeff murdered by an animal?" Willow questioned.

"Pete's not like other guys, is he, Debbie?" Kate asked her.

"I-I've gotta go," Debbie stuttered as she realized we knew more than we were letting on.

Debbie grabbed her bag before starting to leave the locker room. Buffy grabbed her by the arm and stopped her.

"You have to talk to us," Kyra told her.

"We can't help you until you do," Buffy voiced as Debbie shook her head.

"I didn't ask for your help!" Debbie exclaimed.

"Well, when are you going to? I mean, if Pete kills you, it'll pretty much be too late," Willow responded.

"Debbie, we're running out of time," I stated.

I knew whatever Pete was would be dangerous. I also knew my unborn baby would be in danger, and I had a feeling Elijah, Sam and Cole wouldn't be there to help, but who would be there to save us.

Across town at the mansion, Angel struggled with the chain as he felt his mate was in danger. He yanked at the chain with all his weight before the bracket pulled free from the wall. The metal bracket crashed to the floor. Angel fell roughly onto his hands and knees before he quickly got up. He pulled the chain free from the metal bracket before running out of the mansion. He ran towards where the pull of his mate was pulling him towards.

Back at the high school, in the locker room as we continued to question Debbie about Pete's whereabouts.

"Where can we find him?" Buffy asked her.

"I-I don't know," Debbie stuttered.

"You're lying," I responded.

"What if I am? What are you gonna do about it?" Debbie questioned.

"Wrong question," Willow replied.

"Look at yourself," Kyra voiced as she grabbed Debbie's arm and pushed her against the sink in front of the mirror before continuing to speak. "Why are you protecting him? Anybody who really loved you couldn't do this to you." She took a few steps away from the sink.

"Would they take him someplace?" Debbie asked as she turned and faced us.

"Probably," Kate answered.

"I could never do that to him," Debbie returned as she shook her head while Willow sighed before she continued. "I'm his everything."

"Great. So what, you two live out your Grimm fairy tale? Two people are dead," I said in disgust.

"Who's going to be next?" Buffy asked as Debbie sat down and shook her while ignoring us.

Back in the library, Oz was alone in the cage as he waited for the transformation to happen.

"Since when do you touch my girl?" Pete said as he came into the library before walking over and grabbing the cage in anger.

"Hey, Pete. This is kind of a bad time," Oz told him.

"Well, I guess you didn't think about that when you put the move on Debbie!" Pete responded as he rattled the cage door.

"We talked, yeah, but it was move-free," Oz returned as he glanced at the window to see if the sun had set yet while Pete rattled the cage hard. "About this cage? When that sun sets..."

"You won't be alive to see it!" Pete threateningly whispered as he rattled the cage again before stepping away from it while seething with anger.

"I'm serious. Something gonna happen that you... probably won't believe," Oz stated.

Pete screamed as his head whipped around before transforming into his alter ego again. He looked at Oz with a murderer look in his eyes as the change completed while Oz looked in amazement before taking a step back from the cage.

"Or you might," Oz added before Pete lunged at the cage and grabbed at the door.

Pete yanked at the door a few times before it suddenly broke free. He threw the door aside as he roared at Oz. He ran into the cage and grabbed Oz before throwing him out the door and onto the floor.

Back across the school, inside the locker room, Debbie was on the changing bench. She was rocking back and forth while chanting the same thing.

"He does love me. He does love me," Debbie chanted.

"This is useless," Buffy exhaled.

"We have to go. We have to find Pete," I voiced.

"He does love me," Debbie chanted.

"Come on," Willow voiced as she and Kyra tried to get Debbie standing with them.

"He does love me," Debbie continued to chant as she resisted.

"I think we broke her," Willow suggested.

"He does love me. He does love me," Debbie repeated.

"I think she was broken before this," Kate voiced as we stopped at the door before joining the boys while Kyra and Willow helped Debbie up and followed us.

After Kyra, Debbie and Willow joined us, we headed for the library.

In the library, Pete heaved Oz up and over his head before slamming him down onto the table. The table smashed from the impact as Pete fell on top of Oz before he scrambled to his feet, pulling Oz up and punching him in the face.

"Did you kiss that whore? Huh? Did she like it?" an angry Pete questioned as he grabbed Oz's shoulders and shook him hard.

Oz didn't answer as Pete heaved him overhead again and onto the stairs. Oz slid down them before turning around at the base before Pete attacked him. Oz got his leg up in time to stop him before he pushed kick him off of him. Pete slid across the floor as Oz looked through one of the arched windows and saw the sun had set.

"Times up," Oz said as he looked at Pete, who had recovered from his fall. "Rules change." As he morphed into a werewolf and growled while baring his teeth at Pete.

Werewolf Oz lept onto Pete before they started wrestling on the floor. Oz tried to bite Pete but couldn't as he was kicked away. Pete scrambled to his feet before backhanding Oz as he attacked again, but he wasn't fazed and attacked again. Oz lept onto Pete before they crashed into the stairs, but this time Oz had Pete's arm. Pete screamed in agony as Oz bit him.

In the halls, we were running towards the library as we heard screaming. Giles and his group came running down another hallway.

"What was that?" Giles questioned as we ran into the library.

When we barged into the library, we saw the cage door open and Pete and Oz fighting on the stairs. Oz's jaw was clamped hard on Pete's arm while Pete repeatedly punched him in the gut.

"Get the dart gun!" Klaus yelled.

"Got it!" Buffy exclaimed as she reached behind the counter and grabbed the dart rifle before handing it to Jo.

Jo cocked it and took aim past Giles and Klaus.

"Pete, watch out!" Debbie yelled as she shoved Jo aside to protect her boyfriend.

The gun went off but not before it hit Giles.

"Ow!" Giles reacted as the dart hit Giles in the hip.

"Oh! Sorry!" Jo apologized as she couldn't believe she shot Giles while Pete flipped Oz over onto the floor and got free of his jaws.

"Oh, right. Blood priceless," Giles said as the drug quickly took effect.

Giles staggered backwards as Klaus caught him before pushing the table into Oz as they got away. Oz ran behind the counter, lept over it and ran out of the library while Jo tried to take another but couldn't get another shot.

"You get the wolf!" Jo told Faith as she tossed the rifle to Faith.

"Got it!" Faith responded as she caught the gun before running out with Willow, Dean, Andy, Leo, and Kol behind her.

Buffy and I ran towards Pete on the right-hand set of stairs. Buffy roundhouse kick to his head before he stumbled onto the upper level. We pursued him as Pete got to his feet before I punched him with my right hand and followed with my left. He staggered to one side of a bookcase before grabbing it and shoving it onto us. We fell as it landed on top of us before dumping its contents around us while we heard Pete roar as he ran out of the library.

"Aurora, Buffy!" Kate and Kyra yelled as they came over and got the bookcase off us.

Elijah, Klaus, Finn, Sam, and Cole helped us up.

"We have to find Pete and stop him," I voiced as Buffy and I headed downstairs.

We headed out of the library in search of Pete.

In the hallway, Pete was running through the hall while clutching his wounded arm as he looked back to see if someone was chasing him before frantically searching for an escape route. He ran around the corner without being seen by those chasing him. Moments later, Buffy and I ran through the same doors as we ran in the same direction as Pete.

Pete ran around the corner of another hallway and stopped before looking again for a way out. It wasn't before long he found a high window above a bank of lockers down the adjacent hall. He lept on top of the lockers before pushing the window open and crawling through, not realizing he was leaving streaks of blood from his wound on the wall. Moments later, we came around the corner, but it didn't take long for Buffy and me to get closer to the trail as we looked around for any blood splatter.

Across campus in a different hallway, werewolf Oz bounded around a corner before running down another hall.

"Come on, we have to get closer to him," Dean said as they ran right behind werewolf Oz.

They continued to run after him.

Across campus in the supply room, Debbie was sitting on the floor as she leaned against a crate while waiting for Pete to show up.

"Pete! You're all right!" Debbie said as Pete walked in the door before she jumped up and over to him. "God, you're all right." She threw her arm around him and hugged him close, but he didn't hug back. "She almost shot you? Did you see that? I stopped her." She let go of her hug before looking at him and told him. "You have to leave... Get out of Sunnydale. They know."

"How did they know, Debbie? Did you run your big mouth?" Pete questioned.

"No! They just knew. It seemed like they just knew," a frightened Debbie said.

"So you filled in the banks!" Pete exclaimed as he shoved her to the floor.

"NO! No!" Debbie screamed as she looked at him.

"But what I didn't expect from a screw-up like you?" Pete voiced.

"I-I didn't... Pete..." Debbie stuttered as she shook her head.

"You're nothing but a waste of space," Pete told her.

"No!" Debbie yelled as he moved in to grab her.

Outside in the halls, Buffy and I found the blood streaks around a high window as it swung back and forth before heading towards the window. While we were climbing through the window, werewolf Oz was leaping down the stairs nearest to the lounge before stopping at the vending machine as Faith, Kol, and Willow ran down after him. Seconds later, Oz jumped on Faith, making her drop the gun as she was pulled down to the floor while Willow screamed and Kol tried to get Oz off of her.

Some hallways away, Buffy and I climbed through the window and onto the roof before we jumped/shimmered down. When we got down, we looked around before I found another window with a single lamp that swung back and forth from its ceiling.

"Buffy, I think he went in there," I voiced as I pointed to the supply room door.

"Let's go," Buffy stated as we rushed for the door and forced it open before heading in.

When we got inside, it was too quiet. We looked around and found Debbie as she laid on the floor behind a rack.

"Oh, god," I muttered as I bent down to check her pulse but none.

Moments later, we grabbed and thrown against some crates before looking up at our attacker with a dazed stare. I had hoped the others had got Oz, so we had only one creature to do with as Pete started towards us.

Inside the school at the student lounge, Faith struggled to keep Oz at bay while not getting bitten as Kol tried to get the rifle.

"Where's the gun? WHERE'S THE GUN?!" Faith screamed.

"Get off her!" Willow yelled as she got behind Oz and yanked his tail before she started to run down the hall.

Oz released Faith before starting to run after her.

"Get the gun! Get the gun! Hurry!" Willow yelled as Kol grabbed the rifle.

Kol took aim and shot Oz in the butt. He yelped and whimpered for a moment before falling unconscious.

"I'm sorry, Oz," Willow whispered as she touched the sleeping werewolf.

"Let's get him back to the library," Kol voiced as he and Faith grabbed Oz before heading towards the library with Willow behind them.

Back in the supply room, Buffy had been beaten by Pete, but now he had turned his attention to me as Buffy was unconscious.

"All the same!" Pete said as he hit me before hitting me again as he spoke. "You're all the same!"

Pete punched me again before I fell from his grasp, but as he advanced on me before I kicked him off and away from me into a stack of crates. I heard the doors burst open before I turned and saw Angel with his game face on. Angel deeply roared before attacking Pete. Buffy crawled over to me as Angel swung his chains at Pete's face and got in before swinging again, catching his face. We watched as Pete retaliated against Angel before Buffy stood up from the floor and helped me up. We stepped away as we watched them fight. Pete pulled Angel up and threw him to the floor before he turned his attention and advanced on us. I could see Angel getting up and heading toward us before wrapping the chains around Pete's neck. Angel lifted Pete over his back and slammed him on the floor before choking Pete with the chain. We winced as Angel broke Pete's neck before he dropped him. I could feel and tell Angel was calming down as he looked up and over at us. We stared at him for a moment as Angel caught his breath before his human face returned. He slowly started his way over before stopping in front of us. We didn't know what to expect, but after a long intense stare at each other, he finally spoke.

"Aurora? Buffy?" Angel said in a soft voice before falling to his knees.

Angel tightly held me as he sobbed. I couldn't believe it was really him, even though I had seen him the night before.

"Aurora..." Angel whispered in my jacket.

I could feel tears coming down my cheeks as I finally could accept, that Angel truly returned to us.

"Aurora! Buffy!" We heard Klaus, Finn, and Elijah yelling.

"In here!" Buffy yelled back.

They came running in to see Angel hugging me close.

"Aurora, are you okay?" Leo asked.

"No, but I could use some healing," I answered.

Leo healed the bruises and cuts from Pete's hits before he healed Buffy.

"Elijah... Sam... Cole..." Angel whispered.

"We're here, Angel," Sam said as Angel got up.

"We'll take you home," Cole voiced.

"We'll see you tomorrow night," I whispered before kissing Angel's cheek.

Cole, Elijah, Sam, and Klaus shimmered out of the supply room.

"Let's get you home," Leo voiced as we grabbed each other's hands.

"I'll go get Giles and show him," Finn voiced before Leo orbed us back home.

When we got home, we showered and changed into our PJs before finding dinner made with a note.

Girls & Jeremy,

I made the batch of Beef & Shells for dinner. Aurora, Persephone ate and is down to sleep.

-Jenna

I put the note before we sat down and put our dinner on our plates and started eating.

"So, are we telling the others about Angel?" Kate questioned.

"They wouldn't understand especially Xander. He always hated Angel. He isn't able to separate Angel and Angelus as two separate people," I answered before taking a bite of my dinner.

"We'll protect him until he's able to protect himself," Kyra stated.

"I have the album ready from vacation to show Angel what he has missed," I voiced.

"And videos of Persephone milestones," Buffy brought up.

"That too," I returned before we went back to eating.

After we were done eating, we headed upstairs to bed. I headed into the nursery to check on Persephone and saw Lady sleeping in front of it. I quietly walked over and looked down into the crib. I saw a sleeping Persephone before pulling her blanket back in place.

"Your daddy Angel is back, my love. I'm sure he has missed you as I know you probably have missed him," I whispered before kissing my two fingers and laid them on her forehead. "Night, my love."

I walked out of the nursery and closed the door before heading into my room. I pulled the blanket back before getting in and shut off the light. I pulled my blankets on top of me before turning over and going to sleep.

Time Skip

It was morning before I woke to find a note on my bedside table.

Aurora,

Persephone is downstairs with me. Jenna headed to school early. See you downstairs.

-Kate

I put down the note before getting up and out of my bed. I got out of my PJs before I put on clean undergarments and pulled on my flowery dress. I then put on my heeled shoes before doing them up. I added my jewelry and other accessories before pulling my hair into a bun. I grabbed my school bag and purse before heading into the bathroom. I brushed my teeth before adding a little makeup.

"Aurora, breakfast is ready!" Kate yelled from the kitchen dining room.

"Coming!" I yelled back before heading out of the bathroom and down the stairs.

When I got downstairs, Cole was feeding Persephone while Kate, Kyra, Elijah, Buffy and Sam were plating breakfast and Finn, Klaus, Kol, Dean, Jo, Jeremy, and Andy poured drinks into cups.

"What's for breakfast?" I asked as I sat down next to Persephone while Cole fed her. "Morning, my love." I kissed Persephone's head.

"Breakfast quesadillas," Kate answered.

"That sounds good," I returned before Elijah placed the plate in front of me.

I got down and started to eat breakfast as Jeremy set down my breakfast smoothie down.

"So, what's the plan tonight?" Rebekah asked.

"Tonight, we are doing a quick patrol before heading to the manor to stay with Angel for the night," Kyra stated before we got back to eating.

A Slight Time Skip

After eating, we headed to school. Elijah, Finn, and Klaus took Persephone to the library. We headed to our classes and couldn't talk about last night until the afternoon. After lunch, we were talking with Xander, Oz, Willow and Cordelia about last night and the rumours as we walked through the quad.

"It's all over the school. What happened with Debbie and Pete," Willow voiced.

"Except for the Pete-was-a-monster part," Rebekah added.

"Yeah. A freshman told me that Pete had eight ice cafe mochas and just lost it," Oz told us.

"That's better than the estrogen theory. I heard he took all of his mother's birth control pills," Buffy responded.

"He didn't? Pete was a monster?" Cordelia questioned Xander as Xander nodded before she asked. "Where have I been?"

"In your special place, Cor, which is why I adore you," Xander replied.

"So, what's the true story? What happened?" Cordelia asked.

"Well, we got a hold of Pete's lab books and stuff, and Mr. Science was doing a Jekyll/Hyde deal. He was afraid Debbie was going to leave him, so he mixed this potion to become super mas macho," Willow told us.

"The only thing was, after a while, he didn't need the potion to turn into a bad guy. He did it just fine on his own," Kate responded.

"So it was like real killing. He wasn't under the influence of anything?" Cordelia returned.

"Just himself," Jo stated.

"I'll see you guys later," Buffy told us as we noticed Scott sitting by himself.

"Great. Now, I'm gonna be stuck with serious thoughts all day," Cordelia voiced as Buffy walked off toward Scott.

"We have an online elective to do, so see you later," Kyra voiced before she, Kate, and I headed toward the library.

After Kate, Kyra and Aurora left the others, they looked at Buffy and Scott before leaving while Buffy talked with Scott.

"I don't know what to say that's..." Buffy said before inhaling and sitting down next to him. "... not gonna sound stupid or obvious."

"I've been friends with them both since before we started school," Scott voiced.

"Is there anything I can do?" Buffy asked.

"Thanks. I'm gonna be okay. It's just that you never really know what's going on inside somebody. Do you? I mean, you think... if you care about them... But you never really do," Scott stated.

They sat in silence until the bell rang for afternoon classes to start.

Time Skip

After school, we made dinner, dessert and drinks before Elijah and Cole took Persephone to the manor while we did a quick patrol. After the patrol, we headed to the manor and changed into PJs as Persephone slept in the playpen that Elijah brought for the manor. While Angel slept on a camp mattress as we ate dinner.

"Let's finish the Call of the Wild reading, we have to do for class," Jo suggested.

"Let's get started," Kate voiced.

"I'll start; Night came on, and a full move rose high over the trees..." I read as I watched Angel sleep. "...lightening the land till it lay bathed in ghostly day."

"And the strain of the primitive remained alive and active," Kyra continued.

"Faithfulness and devotion, things reborn of fire and roof were his..." Buffy read as Angel moved as his control in pain and anguish.

Cole moved over and pulled Angel into his arms whispering in his ear as he tried to calm his dreams.

"...yet he retained his wildness and wiliness," Buffy added.

"And from the depths of the forest, a call still sounded," Kate finished.

We sat in silence as we finished the reading before turning to watch a Halloween movie. Then went to sleep for the night while hoping Angel would get better and the others would understand why we kept him from them.
