"Steady," Felicia murmured to herself as she carefully attempted to carry a tall stack of dishes from the mess hall back into the kitchen for washing. There had just been a great feast there, and, as per Jakob and Felicia's insistence, the attendees had left their used plates and silverware behind for them to clean up, like any good butler and maid would, and while Jakob was in the back, washing said plates and silverware to near perfection, he had tasked Felicia with the seemingly simple task of bringing all of them in, but in true Felicia fashion, it was a tad bit more complicated than needed to be. "Steady. Steady now, Felicia. You can do this!"

It was then that she happened to pass by Ananias, who had felt a bit guilty over leaving such a big mess to only two people and had thought to come back and at least insist a little harder on helping out. "Hey, Felicia," he greeted. Luckily for Felicia, she had seen him, so his greeting hadn't startled her in any way. "You need any help with that?"

Felicia shook her head as best she could while carrying the heavy stack. "Oh no, you don't have to worry about me! Trust me, I've got this covered!"

Ananias cocked an eyebrow in uncertainty. "Really? Because that's a pretty big stack of plates you've got there."

"Aw, you worry too much! They're just plates, no biggie!"

"Um, yes, yes biggie," Ananias deadpanned. "That's kind of the point. That no one in their right mind should be be carrying that many plates at the same time."

"Hey," Felicia said with a petulant frown on her face, "that's not supposed to be a jab at me now, is it?"

"What?" Ananias asked, eyes widening in surprise at the sudden turn the conversation was going. He shook his head. "No. I'm just saying that even Jakob wouldn't be able to pull that off."

"Well then," Felicia said with a proud little smile on her face, "lucky for me, I'm not Jakob, and also lucky for me, I've been practicing on my balance lately." She began to take another step forward. "So prepare to be amazed when I - eep!"

Ananias cringed as Felicia slipped on a piece of food that had fallen to the floor during the feast and fell down, dropping the multitude of plates onto the floor, breaking the fast majority of them into unsalvagable little pieces. Felicia, the trooper that she was, picked herself up and tenderly rubbed her backside. "Ow, that really hurt."

"Are... are you alright?" Ananias asked, awkwardly reaching out to her in an attempt to help her in any way that he could.

Felicia nodded. "Yeah," she looked down sadly at all of the broken plates on the ground, "but I can't say the same for all these plates."

"Yeah," Ananias said, sheepishly scratching the back of his head, "sorry about that. If I hadn't been distracting you, you probably could have pulled it off."

Felicia sighed and shook her head. "No, it was my fault. I'm always tripping over my own two feet to begin with. If not this stack, then I probably would've dropped another one." She bent down to pick up and clean up the mess. "It was only a matter of time."

Ananias knelt down to help her. "Yeah, no offense, but what's up with that? I mean, you're pretty on top of things in battle, so what gives?"

Felicia sighed before shrugging her shoulders and shaking her head in dismay. "I don't know! No matter how much I practice, I always seem to find a way to mess things up! What am I supposed to do? I actually really like being a maid, but at this rate, I'm starting to wonder whether I should even bother anymore."

Ananias thought it over for a bit before suggesting, "Well, giving up when things get tough isn't really something anybody should live by, so how about I help you practice? I mean, if people can train to be better fighters, then I don't see how it should be different for maids, right?"

Felicia let out a surprised gasp. "R-Really? You'd do that for me?"

Ananias nodded. "Sure. Believe it or not, I was in your shoes once."

Felicia gave him a funny look. "Being a maid?"

Ananias' eyes widened in surprise. "What? No. By being down on yourself. By feeling that no matter what, you couldn't do anything right."

Felicia blushed. "Oh, yeah, right," she slapped herself on the head, "duh."

Ananias sighed. "Look, I'm not saying that I've got all of the answers, but I'm at least offering to help you find them, so what do you think? How does that sound?"

Felicia smiled. "That sounds great! Okay, let's do it!"

There was a brief silence between them before Felicia burst out a stifled chuckle. Ananias cocked an eyebrow at this. "Um, what's so funny?"

Felicia shook her head and waved her hand. "Sorry, it's just," another stifled chuckle escaped from her lips, "now, I just can't seem to get the picture of you in a maid outfit out of my head."

Ananias let out an exasperated sigh. "Felicia, please, men can't be maids. At the very least, I should be a butler."

"I know, I know, but," another laugh sputtered out, "still!"

"Well, at least I'm not wearing one of those head pieces, right?"

Felicia laughed even harder. "Oh my gosh! Those head pieces! I totally forgot about those until you brought it up!"

Ananias sighed. "Maybe this was a a bad idea after all."
