"Hey, Felicia," Ananias called as he jogged toward the currently working maid, who was holding quite the large stack of plates in her hands, inducing a bit of deja vu on the red-headed messenger.

Felicia turned towards him and smiled. "Oh! Hey, Ananias!"

Ananias nodded towards the large stack of plates she was holding. "You want some help with those, or...?"

"Hmm." She bit her lip as she thought the offer over. "Well, I'm tempted to say no, but considering my track record lately," she giggled as she lowered the stack of plates as best she could to allow Ananias to take them better, "sure, why not?"

Ananias chuckled and took roughly half of Felicia's plates off of her hands and began to walk besides her as she made her way back to the kitchen. "Right?" He then frowned, and asked in a hushed tone, "So, how've you been lately?"

Felicia gave him a curious frown. "I'm doing fine. Why do you ask?"

Ananias shrugged. "It's just, I know how much it meant to you, to be a great maid and all. I was just wondering if you were still feeling okay about going back to being a clumsy one."

"Aw, that's so sweet of you!" Felicia gushed with a smile. "But you've really got to stop feeling so worried about me! I'm fine! Really! And if anything, me actually knowing that I keep a bit of balance around here feels just as good as being the perfect maid that I've always wanted to be! It's actual kind of fun, you know? Like I'm some sort of secret keeper or some kind of selfless, undercover hero, doing what she can in secret to make the world a safer and better place!"

Ananias raised his eyebrows in surprise. "Huh. Well, I guess that's one way to think about it."

"I know, right? In a way, I'm kind of a little more like you now!"

Ananias' eyes widened in surprise. "Like me? How?"

"Hmm, well," Felicia said, "it's like, if something were to happen to you, I think everyone around here would be a little bit more unhinged, you know?"

Ananias shook his head. "N-No, not really. Why would they feel unhinged? I've barely just got here, and I don't really do that much around here anyway."

"Maybe," Felicia conceded, "but you've sort of got that aura about you, you know? An aura that, if it goes away, it just wouldn't feel the same around here anymore."

"How could I have an aura?" Ananias genuinely asked. "Aren't auras for, like, super charismatic people or something?"

"Most of the time, probably," Felicia admitted. "But then that just makes you the exception to the rule then." She lightly and playfully bumped her hip against his. "So congratulations on that."

Ananias thought it over for a bit before letting out an amused chuckle. "Well, when you put it like that..."

Felicia giggled. "Guess that makes us the secretly important pair of the castle, huh?" She pointed in front of her and declared, "Together, we keep peace and balance within the castle, one subtle and small step at a -"

"Felicia, the plates!"

Felicia's eyes widened in surprise. "H-Huh?" She then realized what Ananias was talking about. "Oh my gosh! The plates are tipping over!"

"I got it!" Ananias cried, letting a hand go of his plates to help straighten hers. "I got it!" His eyes then widened in horror. "Oh no! Now my plates are starting to tip over!" He then tripped over his own feet trying to realign his plates as Felicia's were stuck to the ground in shock.

"Aiyee!"

"Agh!"

The two fell down to the ground like dominoes, dropping and breaking all of the plates they had been carrying in the process. After taking a moment to recollect themselves, the two of them queasily looked at the mess of broken plates surrounding them, Ananias letting out a dejected sigh as Felicia let out an exasperated groan. "Oh no, the plates!" She picked up a piece and pouted. "They've all broken!"

"I am so sorry," Ananias said. He pinched the bridge of his nose in frustration. "Now this makes us three for three."

Felicia raised an eyebrow at this. "Huh?"

"This is the third time that we've spent time with each other and we've created one great, big mess," Ananias wearily explained.

Felicia let out a surprised gasp. "O-Oh!" She then contemplated over the sudden revelation before letting out a stifled laugh.

Ananias gave her a funny look. "Um, what's so funny?" he asked.

Felicia pointed between the two for a bit before getting her bearings and answering, "Us! It's just like you said! This is our third time creating a mess that neither of us could've made on our own! It's like when we're together we make each other the biggest klutzes in the entire castle!"

"Um, how is that funny?"

"I don't know!" Felicia admitted. "It just kind of is, isn't it?"

Ananias took a moment to think it over before putting on a small smile and nodding. "Yeah," he said with a chuckle. "I guess it kind of is."

Felicia nodded. "I know, right?" The two of them laughed for a long while before their laughter finally subsided and the two looked deeply into each other's eyes. It was then that the two of them had the exact same idea.

"Felicia," Ananias slowly asked, "do you... want to get married?"

Felicia blushed and bashfully placed her hands over her heart, surprised with how forward and honest Ananias was being in this regard. "W-Well, if you're seriously asking then," she smiled warmly, "sure, why not?"

Ananias' eyes widened in surprise with just how quickly she had accepted his proposal. "Really?" he incredulously asked.

Felicia nodded. "Of course! I mean, I don't think I've ever met someone so patient with me whenever I've messed something up before! And you're so nice and kind, and let's be honest," she cupped one side of his face, "you are like, really easy on the eyes."

Ananias blushed. "Yeah, well, you're not exactly any slouch in that department either," he said, causing Felicia to blush again. "And you really are just one great, big ray of sunshine, you know that?" He cupped her face with one of his hands. "Sunshine that I wouldn't mind spending the rest of my life with."

"Aw, you complimenter you."

Ananias chuckled. "After everything you just said about me, that's rich."

"Well, it's true!" Felicia insisted. A sudden thought then came to her mind, causing her to frown. "But honestly, if this is going to work, then we've got to buy dinnerware that won't break so easily! We can't possibly afford the married life otherwise!"

Ananias thought it over for a bit before shrugging his shoulders and nonchalantly suggesting, "I mean, we could always just buy the wooden versions if someone's selling them."

Felicia gasped. "Oh my gosh! Ananias, that's genius!"

"I mean, not really."

Felicia slapped him on his shoulder. "Oh, quiet you!" She then began counting with her fingers as she began listing things off the bat. "Hmm, so wait, you like me, I like you, we've got a plan for the future...," she looked at Ananias inquisitively, "is there anything else we're missing?"

"Um," Ananias shrugged, "I could get us rings and we could plan the wedding, but other than that, I think that's it."

Felicia's eyes widened excitedly. "That's it?"

Ananias nodded, giving her a small smile. "I think so."

Felicia squealed and leapt onto him, which, fortunately, Ananias was able to catch, and said, "Then it's settled! Let's get married!"

Ananias laughed. "Okay then, let's!" The two of them then shared a passionate kiss, having momentarily forgot the terrible mess that was surrounding them, at least, for the moment.

Ending: Ananias and Felicia

Ananias continued with his humble life as a messenger almost immediately after the war had ended, his home being the only guaranteed place anyone looking for him could find him. Felicia gave up her career in the service industry for the military, ultimately becoming a commander.
