"Heyyyy, Ananias," Setsuna drawled as she lazily made her way towards Elise's currently aimless and red-headed retainer. "Whatcha doing?"
Ananias sighed as he shook his head and shrugged. "As of now... nothing."
"Aw, that's alright," Setsuna said while absentmindedly patting the top of Ananias' head. "Knowing you... you'll definitely find something."
"That's just it, though," Ananias muttered. "For some reason, I just can't seem to find any work to do around here."
"Oh? Did you do your chores? Sometimes... I forget to do my chores when I'm supposed to."
Ananias shook his head. "No, I got all of those done first thing in the morning."
"Wow, Ananias! You're so responsible!"
"Um, yeah, I guess I am," Ananias said. Usually, Setsuna's strange behavior would have earned her a funny look at the very least, but since this was seemingly a frequent problem with her, Ananias had trained himself into overlooking it (for the most part). "Thanks."
Setsuna giggled airily. "Aw, you just thanked me. That's so nice." She gave Ananias a bit of a playful shove. "You're so nice, Ananias."
"Um... thanks," Ananias said, a bit unsure of where to take the conversation next before clearing his throat and settling on just continuing to explain his current plight to her. "A-Anyway, I looked around to see if there was anything else for me to do around here, but no luck." He folded his arms in mild frustration. "Everyone insisted that I should take the time off."
"Aw," Setsuna said, once again patting Ananias on the head out of sympathy towards his strange and unusual predicament. "You're such a busybody, Ananias!"
Ananias bowed his head as he lightly blushed. "Yeah, well..."
Setsuna then slowly gasped. "Hey, wait a minute! If you're free, then maybe you can help me!"
Ananias frowned as he gave Setsuna an apprehensive look. "Um, well, yeah. Technically, I could..."
"Great!" the archer absentmindedly exclaimed. She then began to lazily lead Ananias to where she was going to need him. "Follow me!"
"Um, Setsuna?" Ananias asked as he matched Setsuna's slow and carefree pace. "Just what exactly is it that you need help with... exactly?"
"Oh, you'll find out soon enough!" Setsuna gently chided.
Ananias sighed. "I feel like I'm going to regret this," he muttered.
"Don't worry. It's perfectly safe. I won't get hurt at all."
"That's not...," Ananias once again let out an exasperated sighed, "yeah, that's... that's good to hear."
"Alright," Setsuna said. "Here we are!"
"Oh." Ananias looked around and gave Setsuna a confused look. "Um, Setsuna, where are we?"
Setsuna simply looked at him and whispered, "Clossssssse."
Ananias simply stared back and awkwardly asked, "Um, close to what, exactly?"
"Shhhhhh," Setsuna said. She then got down on all fours. "Get down."
Ananias hesitated for a moment before eventually following her lead. "Okay?"
"Now... pat around," Setsuna instructed, demonstrating to Ananias exactly what she wanted him to do as she did.
Ananias slowly followed suit. "S-Sure."
"Now... look around until you find something funny."
"Funny how?"
"You know... funny."
Ananias sighed. "Okay, I'll... see what I can do." The two of them began patting and exploring the ground for a little while before Ananias noticed something unusual. "Setsuna," he called, "I think I've found something!"
"Really?" Setsuna cried before carefully making her way back towards Ananias. "Where?"
Ananias pointed towards the spot in front of him. "Right there. It feels as if the ground isn't as sturdy as it is everywhere else."
"Alrighty then," Setsuna said, grabbing Ananias' arm protectively. "On the count of three... we're both going to jump into that spot, okay? One... two... -"
Ananias firmly grabbed her in a way that would prevent her from jumping forward, let out an exasperated sign, and asked, "Setsuna... we're not going to jump into a trap, are we?"
Setsuna simply shrugged. "Well... we won't know until we jump."
Ananias stared at her for a moment before letting out another exasperated sigh, shaking his head, and muttering, "Alright, fine." He prepared to jump. "It's not like I had any other plans today anyway."
Setsuna absentmindedly smiled and nodded her head. "Well, now you can plan to jump into this trap with me! You know... if it even is a trap in the first place." She then held one of Ananias' hands and prepared to leap. "One... two... three!"
"Argh!"
"Oof!" The two of them took a moment to recover from the fall before Setsuna smiled and said, "Hey! What do you know? It really was a trap!"
Ananias groaned and rubbed the back of his head before letting out a groggy, "Good. Now what do we do?"
Much to his surprise, Setsuna simply made herself comfortable next to him and answered, "Now, we wait for Lady Hinoka to come and rescue us."
Ananias readjusted himself next to her while asking, "And for what exactly did you need my help for then?"
"Keeping me company," Setsuna answered. "After all... it can get pretty lonely down here."
Ananias let out an exasperated sigh. "Glad I could help."
