"Hmm...," Setsuna hummed to herself as she stared blankly at nothing in particular, something that Ananias immediately took notice of.

"Um, is something wrong?" he asked.

Setsuna simply folded her arms and shrugged. "I don't know," she answered. "Maybe."

"Are you uncomfortable?" Ananias asked. "Do you want me to move around a bit so that you can readjust yourself?"

Setsuna shook her head. "... No, I'm fine. It's just...," she bowed her head, "for some reason... getting caught in a trap today... isn't as fun as it usually is."

Ananias sighed. "Yeah, well," he took a moment to look over their current, unfavorable predicament, "two people getting caught in a net together and being hung off the ground isn't exactly very fun in and of itself, so..."

Setsuna shook her head. "No... that part's fine."

Ananias frowned. "Being cramped up against each other off of the ground is 'fine'?"

"That's usually the fun of it," Setsuna lazily explained. "But no... that's not it. It's something else... but I can't exactly put my finger on it."

"Well, did you forget something?" Ananias suggested.

Setsuna thought about it for a moment before nodding her head and answering, "Hmm... yeah, I guess I kind of have."

"Well, was it to do your chores?"

Setsuna shook her head. "No... I never really do those anyways. After all, Lady Hinoka always ends up doing them for me."

Ananias sank deeper into his side of the net to sulk. "Yeah, sorry. I guess I forgot about that." The two of them were silent for a moment before Ananias sighed and suggested, "Did you forget to do anything else today? You know, something that Lady Hinoka usually doesn't do for you?"

Setsuna nodded absentmindedly. "Yeah... I guess I have."

"Well, did it involve doing something for a friend of yours?"

Setsuna thought it over for a moment before nodding her head. "Yeah, I guess it was."

"Well, which one was it? Azama? Lady Hinoka? Lord Ryoma? Lord Takumi?"

Setsuna shook her head. "No, not them." She closed her eyes and hummed to herself as she attempted to remember what she had forgotten before letting out a tiny gasp upon finally remembering. "Oh! That's right!" She looked towards Ananias. "I remember now!"

Ananias perked up a bit in mild anticipation. "Well, what is it?"

"I was supposed to tell you that you shouldn't feel like a burden to everyone," Setsuna nonchalantly answered. "And that you shouldn't have to feel like you need to constantly earn everyone's friendship by doing things for them."

Ananias' eyes widened in surprise as he let out a small and surprised gasp. "W-What?"

Setsuna nodded. "Yeah." She bowed her head and averted her eyes to the side in a rare act of shame. "Some friend I turned out to be, huh?"

"W-Wait, I'm confused," Ananias said, closing his eyes and shaking his head as he was trying to process this newfound information. "Why and when exactly did you feel like you needed to tell me that?"

"Well... you just seemed so sad, you know? Back when you said that you never could've gotten away with being useless because you didn't have any natural talents to lean back on."

Ananias winced at this. "I said that?" he weakly asked.

Setsuna shrugged. "Something like that. I mean... I felt that something was wrong the moment I heard it, but we were so busy trying to find traps to get caught in that I just sort of forgot about it up until now."

"Really? Well, what exactly happened that made you finally remember?"

Setsuna bowed her head sadly. "I don't know. It's just... being caught in a trap with someone who I know is sad... I guess that that isn't as much fun as someone being trapped with someone who wants to get trapped along with you, you know? So I was trying to think of a way to cheer you up, which made me remember that I had forgotten to tell you all of that stuff that I had wanted to tell you before."

"Oh," Ananias softly said. "W-Well, thanks for that. I'll remember that the next time I... feel that way."

"Are you sure?" Setsuna asked, leaning closer towards Ananias' face to see if he was lying or not. "Because you don't look so sure."

Ananias folded his arms and sank deeper into his side of the net. "Of course I'm sure."

"Then you promise not to think that you need to do a bunch of things in order to be friends with everyone?"

Ananias averted his eyes to the side. "I mean, I'll try," he mumbled.

"... Can you try really, really hard this time though?"

Ananias' eyes narrowed stubbornly. "Don't I always?"

Setsuna shook her head. "Maybe when it comes to chores, but when it comes to changing yourself... it seems to just go in one ear and out the other."

Ananias shamefully slumped deeper into his side of the net upon hearing this. "I guess...," he admitted.

The two of them were silent for a moment before Setsuna looked down and softly said, "It makes me sad, you know? Knowing that you think that you need to constantly do things for others in order to keep them as friends."

"But isn't that how it works?" Ananias quietly argued. "Nobody wants a burden... or a freeloader. And if I'm not diligent enough, then that's exactly what I'm going to be."

"I don't know," Setsuna replied. "I mean, I consider you a friend because you're always so nice to me."

Ananias sighed. "That's because I always help you with your chores," he gestured towards the net that was holding the both of them, "or come with you whenever you want to fall into any traps. If I didn't do any of that, then you probably wouldn't like me very much."

"... Maybe," Setsuna admitted. "But... I always like it when you don't talk down to me, you know? Like, I really appreciate it."

"..."

"And it feels nice... knowing that you worry about me enough to try and talk me out of doing certain things."

"..."

"And falling into traps with me, just for fun and everything... I feel like I'll always remember how excited I was that someone was willing to do that with me."

"..."

"So... I guess what I'm saying is that... no amount of not doing work is going to take all of that away, you know?"

"... I guess."

"So don't worry about losing your friends, okay? Because no matter what, you'll always have a friend in me."

"... You really mean that?" Ananias quietly asked.

Setsuna nodded. "Yeah."

Ananias stared at the blank expression on her face for a moment before smiling sadly at her and saying, "Thanks, Setsuna. That means a lot."

Setsuna smugly grinned and giggled. "Aw, you complemented me. That's so nice."

Ananias smile brightened a bit as he nonchalantly shrugged his shoulders. "What can I say? That's my charm."
