"Oh! And I'll take this one, and this one, and this one, and this one, and -"
Ananias let out an exasperated sigh as Selena continued to pile on more and more stuff into his arms. "No offense, Selena, but I think you need to stop."
Selena took a moment to stop her incessant shopping in order to give her friend an irritated and questionable glance. "Huh? Why?"
"Well," Ananias weakly said, doing his best to poke his head from behind the mountain of clothes and various other things that Selena was seemingly planning on buying, "for starters, I'm pretty sure that you can't afford all of this."
Selena rolled her eyes as she shook her head and let out an annoyed groan. "Of course I can!" She wagged a disapproving finger in front of Ananias' face. "Don't tell me what I can and can't afford. I'm not an idiot, you know!"
"Okay, fine, you're not," Ananias calmly admitted. "But just because you can afford things doesn't mean you should immediately go out buying everything you can."
"And why not?" Selena asked as she went back to searching for any clothes that she happened to tickle her fancy. "It's my money, isn't it?"
"Um, yeah, I guess, but -"
"Then it should be up to me to decide how I use it," Selena finished.
"Yeah, but, just because someone has enough money to buy all of the wine they want doesn't mean they should be drinking all of the wine they want, you know?"
Selena let out an exasperated sigh. "But I'm not buying wine! I'm buying clothes, and pots, and -"
"Exactly!" Ananias argued. "What are you even going to do with the pots?"
"I don't know!" Selena vexingly admitted. "I'll figure it out!"
"Most people usually have a good idea of what they're buying before they go shopping, Selena," Ananias deadpanned.
Selena clenched her fist as she gritted her teeth in frustration. "And some people just like to make a spontaneous buy," she growled.
"So you admit that you're buying too much."
"Agh!" Selena cried out, clenching and shaking both of her fists in frustration and stomping her foot as she did. "Look, I just like shopping, okay?! It's fun!"
"Most people shop because they have to," Ananias droned.
"Well I'm not 'most people'!" Selena cried. "I do it because I think it's fun. I do it because it makes me happy. I do it because I just like doing it! IT'S... MY... HOBBY!"
"Not a hobby I've ever heard of," Ananias muttered.
"Well, maybe that's because I'm a unique person with my own personal interests, as opposed to you, who seems to be dead set on not having any of those!" Selena pointedly grumbled. "Seriously, Ananias, get a life!"
"I've got one," Ananias lamely and defensively countered.
"Doing things for others doesn't count!" Selena said. "Hobbies should be for you and you alone. It's a chance to be selfish! To feel good by treating yourself for once instead of doing everything for everyone else!"
"But what if I like doing things for other people?" Ananias asked.
"Oh no!" Selena cried and shaking her head before angrily jabbing her index finger into Ananias' arm. "Don't you give me that! You may be able to fool other people with that lame, little excuse, but I actually grew up with you! I know for a fact that the only reason you do any of those things is because you're afraid of being seen as useless!"
Ananias blushed slightly as he averted his eyes to the side. "Y-Yeah, well, w-what if I eventually grew to like it just for the sake of it? What then?"
Selena rolled her eyes as she let out a haughty laugh. "Ha! If that were true, then you wouldn't have become a messenger in the first place! You would be out there, somewhere," Selena waved her hand around a bit, "doing whatever you wanted. Not going around doing what other people wanted you to do all of the time!"
"Y-Yeah? Well... I've got hobbies!"
"Oh, really?" Selena folded her arms knowingly. "And what exactly are they, huh?"
"I... I... well, I..." Ananias finally let out a defeated sigh. "Alright, fine, you win," he muttered. "I admit it. I don't have a life. Happy? I'll shut up about your shopping habits now."
Selena laughed as she triumphantly clenched her fist. "Yes! Victory!"
"I must really suck at arguing if I lost an argument to a shopaholic about her excessive shopping habits," Ananias bitterly murmured.
"Or maybe, I'm just better at arguing than you," Selena smugly pointed out. "Now honor your promise to stop complaining about my shopping and follow me! We've still got a lot more shop left to sift through!"
Ananias heaved out a heavy and weary sigh. "Yes, ma'am."
Author's Note #1: The next supports after Selena will be Beruka, followed by Xander, Azura, Flora, Odin, Laslow, Rinkah, Arthur, Silas, Leo, Keaton, and Subaki. Kanna's supports will be like Ophelia's and Soleil's, with Kanna being Odin, Laslow, or Selena's kid and Ananias being an honorary uncle to them. The supports will also be written as if Kanna is a boy, but will be generic enough to fit both genders. Got someone else you want to support with Ananias that isn't on this list yet? Request it. Remember, all Nohr first generation characters, Soliel, Ophelia, Anna, Kanna, Rinkah, Subaki, and Setsuna are allowed to support with him as well and it is a first come, first serve system.
Author's Note #2: The Fire Emblem Warriors poll is now officially up on my profile! Vote for which five characters you want for Ananias to support with from that game the most and, in the end, ten characters will be selected for Ananias to support with, so make your voices heard. Happy voting!
