Chapter Five: Blazing Starlight

It was a normal day at the De Sauveterre Academy. Roland, Juliette, and Renée were chilling in the courtyard.

"My good friend, Elena's really upset," Renée would say.

"Oh, how come?" Juliette asked.

"Her mother is trying to force her to join her in criminal activities," Renée replied.

"Wait, seriously?" Roland asked. "That's messed up. Doesn't she attend Collège Françoise Dupont?"

"Yeah, she does," Renée replied.

"I feel bad for your friend," Juliette sighed.

"Mother, why? Why do you keep pressuring me to join you?" An adolescent girl asked. She had a mixed peach-tan skin tone, with dark hazel eyes, and brown hair tied into a ponytail draped over her right shoulder. She wore a white blouse with blue jeans, white socks, and white running shoes. Around her neck was a pretty silver heart necklace. She had worn it ever since she was a baby. Inside the necklace was a family photo - the last photo taken as a loving family before her mother became completely hell-bent on getting revenge on a certain Canadian cop, who had placed her father in jail.

Around the room, it was clear that Elena was not in a safe home environment. The house was an extreme health and safety hazard by itself, to the point that it could be condemned. There were shards of broken glass from shattered beer bottles all over the floor, the windows were broken, the walls were dented and falling apart. Electrical wires were frayed and sticking out, appliances were broken or not maintained, and the minimal furniture they had was broken in places, filthy, and there were bugs everywhere. The smell was also a combination of alcohol and other disgusting smells, such as the cockroach and rodent droppings and the lack of ventilation in the house. How Elena could live in such horrific conditions and not get ill was an enigma.

"Elena, sweetheart, remember, your father is in jail? It's all thanks to that Officer Lewandoski!" her mother proclaimed.

She was scared stiff. Tears were pricking the back of her eyes, threatening to spill over. Ever since her father was arrested, her mother had turned to the dark side. It was as if something in her snapped, and now revenge was the only thing on her mind. All Elena wanted was her genuine, loving mother back. The person in front of her was not her mother - she was a monster.

"Join me, and we'll gain more power!" Her mother declared.

Tears welled up in Elena's eyes. She missed her father and wanted to see him again, yes, but not in the way her mother wanted. And she did not even start to feel safe in her own home, either. She snapped.

"I can't believe you! I won't become evil like you! I just won't!" Elena screamed, clutching her necklace, she ran out of the house in tears.

She did not care that her mother was screaming for her to get back and face retribution - Elena kept running. She wanted to run as far away as her legs could carry her. Away from the demonic, pathetic excuse she had for a mother.

In a dark room...

A window opened up as white butterflies flew around.

"Ah, a dejected girl who has pressure placed on her by her mother? Now that's worthy prey for my evil akumas," Hawkmoth grins evilly as he clenched a fist. He then held out a hand, as a butterfly landed onto it. He then covered his hand, giving the butterfly dark energy, turning it into an akuma. Releasing his hand, he allowed the akuma to fly out of the window. "Fly away my evil little akuma, and darken this poor girl's heart!"

The akuma flies out of the window, to search for its victim. It finds its victim near an alley, and flies into the heart necklace around her neck. Elena's tears stop, as she looks up, with a dark red butterfly mark on her face. A light purple butterfly mask appears as well.

"Blazing Starlight, I am Hawkmoth. I can give you the power to control rifts, and make people fall into alternate dimensions. In return, you will seize Ladybug, Cat Noir, Ocelot, and Lionne's Miraculouses," Hawkmoth offered.

A cruel smile grew onto Elena's face; as she stands up, and crosses her arms over her chest.

"You can count on me, Hawkmoth! I'll get those Miraculouses for you, even if its the last thing I do!" Elena declared.

The light mask disappeared from her eyes, as the dark magic waved over her. Once it disappeared, she looked completely different: her skin was black, her brown hair had changed to a flaming pink, and the pupils of her eyes were a dark violet. Meanwhile, her irises were black. She wore a light grey dress with black and white galaxy designs, which were a few of the planets in the solar system: Mars, Saturn, Jupiter, and Earth. Her wings were a dark grey, with two constellations on both sides: Libra and Capricorn. Her necklace became shaped like a galaxy. She launched herself up into the air, using her wings to fly around Paris, to look for her mother.

Blazing Starlight was flying around, looking for her mother, and opening rifts.

Chloé Bourgeois for example, was being forcibly sent to a world where ponies of all shapes, sizes, colors, and kinds spoke like humans, wore clothes, and their world depended, if not thrived, on the friendship and understanding of everyone around them, and learning about the complexities of it.

At the hazardous home, Elena's mother was furious. How dare her daughter just up and leave her? They could've easily gotten the father out of jail and get revenge on that damn cop that'd arrested her husband and Elena's father, but no. Elena just had to refuse. This would make accomplishing that goal more difficult for her.

The windows crashed open, as Blazing Starlight flew into the hazardous house.

"THERE YOU ARE!" she roared.

"So you came ba-" her mother began before going wide eyed in terror at what her daughter had become. "Elena?!"

"Elena has been terminated! I'm Blazing Starlight! It's time for you to fall to your doom!" the akuma declared.

Her mother paled. If it wasn't obvious enough, she was horrified. Scared to death. "I'm sorry!" she yelled, in a desperate attempt to hopefully get rid of this Blazing Starlight.

In response, Blazing Starlight merely snapped her fingers. The galaxy portal opened up underneath her mother's feet; its power getting stronger.

"Sorry doesn't cut it, mother. It's time to show you the pain that I've suffered for many years! Have fun sinking to your doom," she laughed, before flying out of the house.

Marinette and Adrien would both hide, and transform into their alter-egos, Ladybug and Cat Noir respectively. They would make their way to the akuma attack, watching as Chloé was being forced through a portal. Ladybug would use her yo-yo to get Chloé out of there, and the bratty girl would run off, trying to hide.

Screams were heard around Paris, as portals were opening up in every direction. The screams attracted the attention of Roland, Renée, and Juliette; as their school was nearby.

"Oh no, not another akuma!" Renée let out.

"This is bad, this is really really bad!" one of the students screamed.

"Calm down, Ladybug, Cat Noir, Ocelot, and Lionne will save the day," a male student replied.

"Oh my goodness, I hope Elena's okay!" Renée pulled out her phone to text her best friend.

"Is now really the time to text? We've got to run and hide!" Roland let out.

"I..." Renée was about to argue, but sighed. "You're right. If you two find Elena, can you please make sure you tell her to call me?"

"We promise," Juliette nodded.

"Thank you," Renée replied, as she ran off to find a hiding spot.

"Guess we should go hide too, huh?" Juliette glanced at Roland.

"Yeah. Be careful, alright?" Roland asked.

"Same goes for you," Juliette replied, as the two teens went off to hide.

With Roland...

Roland would hide in a supply closet. "The coast is clear, Occa," he said, as he let the Kwami come out of his scarf.

"Phew, I was wondering when I'd get out, it's hot in there," Occa said.

"Sorry about that Occa. But it's time to transform! Occa, streaks on!" Roland declared, as Occa is absorbed into the silver oval hair clip: which turns black and the inside turns a golden yellow. It has 5 rosettes inside.

Roland soon wore a golden yellow suit with large streak spots on the arms, torso, back, and legs that have a thick black outline and are light yellow in the middle. He has a light yellow middle section down his middle that goes slightly down his thighs before curving under him and partly up his butt. Around his waist is a belt-like structure that holds a long tail that is golden yellow with black spots. His tail is very heavy and usually used for leverage, but can be removed to wield like a flail. He wore tall boots that point up to his knees with a black heel and a light metallic yellow toe that are fashioned like paws.

The sole of his boots also have paws on the bottom. His collar is black and goes up his neck; though it comes down in the middle with a diamond shape around the middle of his collar bone. His mask is heavily marked like an ocelot's face with black and white markings on golden yellow. His eyes gain a blue sclera and turn to slits like a cat's do. He has fake ocelot ears including oceli on the back of them. His hair also gets long and shaggier, the longest parts on both sides of his head gain a golden yellow ombre at the ends. He has gauntlets with heavily armored fingers joints and knuckles that end with sharp claws at the ends. He would pose at the end of his transformation.

With Juliette...

Juliette would hide in the girls locker room. "Leena, let's roar!" she exclaimed. Leena would be absorbed into the barrette, turning gold, and looking like a lion's paw. Her eyes turned hazel, and became cat-like, and her platinum blonde hair was taken out of its braid, turning auburn, and becoming straight. Her clothes would be soon be replaced with a sleeveless golden and strapless dress that reached to her knees, and golden arm-length gloves with black claws on them. She also had long black boots, that had a golden lion logo on the back of each boot. A golden belt would be wrapped around her waist, and it had a long, lion tail attached to it. There were two holsters on her dress; each of them contained a dagger. Finally, a golden superhero mask would appear over her face. She had become Lionne, posing after her transformation was complete.

Blazing Starlight would keep opening up portals.

"Hey, you alien!" Cat Noir shouted, as he arrived at the scene.

"Well well well, if it isn't the mangy kitty cat," Blazing Starlight taunted. "I'm no alien, I'm Blazing Starlight!"

Ladybug would soon arrive at the scene as well. "You've got to stop this!"

"Sorry, but I'm not gonna! I'm gonna need your Miraculouses, as well as the other two cats," Blazing Starlight exclaimed.

"We may be felines, but you're not gonna get our Miraculouses," Ocelot said, as he arrived at the scene.

"That's right, we're gonna defeat you, and you'll be the one handing over your akumatized object!" Lionne grinned.

Blazing Starlight growled. "Ha, this will be easy, like taking candy from a baby!"

"Don't be too confident," Cat Noir smirked.

Blazing Starlight growled, launching a portal at the four heroes; who would all dodge.

"We have to avoid getting hit by those portals, otherwise we'll be dragged to some alternate universe!" Ladybug let out.

"How can we do that?" Ocelot asked.

"I think we might need some luck," Lionne replied.

"LUCKY CHARM!" Ladybug threw her yo-yo into the air. Magical ladybugs surrounded it, before an item dropped into her hand. "A glue gun? What am I supposed to do with this?"

"There are no electrical outlets...unless we go near the park," Ocelot replied.

"Good thinking, Ocelot," Ladybug nodded. "You guys distract her." She would use her yo-yo to get away.

The butterfly outline would appear over Blazing Starlight's face. "Don't let Ladybug get away!" Hawkmoth shouted.

"Don't worry, Hawkmoth," Blazing Starlight replied, as she started to chase after the bug heroine.

"So much for distracting her," Lionne sighed.

"Come on, we can't let her escape," Cat Noir said, using his staff to pole vault to the park. Lionne and Ocelot would run across the roofs.

In that timeline, Ladybug had gotten the glue gun to become hot. Blazing Starlight soon saw the heroine, and landed. "Are you gonna give up?" she asked, with a taunting grin.

"Nope," Ladybug shouted.

"Kinesis!" Ocelot shouted. A fiery power engulfed the gauntlets on Ocelot, as he charged forward with a punch, making Blazing Starlight trip.

"Hey!" the akuma shouted.

"Oops, not sorry," Ocelot replied.

Ladybug would pull the trigger on the glue gun, as the glue would shoot out. Blazing Starlight would stand up, and her feet got glued to the ground.

"I'll be taking that," Lionne grabbed the necklace, and threw it to Cat Noir. "Go for it, Cat Noir!"

"CATACLYSM!" Cat Noir shouted, as he destroyed the necklace. The akuma would flutter out, trying to escape.

Ladybug would open her yo-yo. "No more evildoing for you little akuma," she began, as she made her yo-yo spin around for a bit. "TIME TO DEEVILZE!" She threw her yo-yo towards the akuma, successfully capturing it. "Gotcha!" She would soon turn around, releasing the now purified butterfly. "Bye bye, little butterfly." She would soon unplug the glue gun, throwing it up in the air. "MIRACULOUS LADYBUG!"

The magical ladybugs would fix all the damage that Blazing Starlight had done, closing up all of the portals. Blazing Starlight would soon turn back into a young girl.

"Pound it!" the four heroes fist bumped.

"What happened?" Elena asked.

"I'll take her home," Lionne said.

"Alright, thanks Lionne. Bug out," Ladybug said, as she, Ocelot, and Cat Noir left.

"NOOOOOOOOOOO!" Hawkmoth screamed in anger. "Next time, I will win, Ladybug, Cat Noir, Lionne and Ocelot! Your Miraculouses will be mine!" He gave a wicked laugh as the window in his lair closed.

"What's going on?" Elena looked at Lionne.

"You were akumatized, but everything's okay now," Lionne replied.

"Oh my goodness, I must have worried my best friend, Renée!" Elena exclaimed.

"She's fine, she was worried about you too," Lionne replied.

"Really?" Elena asked.

Lionne nodded. They would soon arrive at Elena's house.

"You live here?" Lionne was shocked.

"Yeah, not manageable," Elena rubbed her arm.

"You can't be living in these conditions!" Lionne let out.

"But I have to. Thanks for taking me home, Lionne," Elena would go inside.

Lionne would soon make her way home herself.

"LET GO OF ME THIS INSTANT!" Elena's mother was shouting, as she was put into handcuffs.

"Sorry, but we can't," Officer Roger said. "Looks like you're gonna join your hubby in the slammer."

"Are you freaking serious?!" she asked, annoyed.

"Yes, yes I am," Officer Roger replied. "Take her away, boys."

The police officers would drag Elena's mother into the police car. Officer Roger looked over at Elena. "Gather your stuff. We're gonna have the house demolished, and a new one built in its place."

"But where will I go?" Elena asked.

"Do you have any friends?" Officer Roger asked.

"Well, I do have my friend, Renée," Elena replied.

"See if she'll let you stay with her," Officer Roger replied.

Elena would call her best friend, and the girl would agree to let her best friend stay with her. Officer Roger would drive her to Renée's place. The two best friends would hug, and Renée would lead Elena to a guest room.
