Chapter Twelve: Inkheart

"Are you out of your mind?!" Mitchell shouted, glaring at Derek Stonewall, De Sauveterre Academy's resident mean boy.

"What are you talking about?" Derek asked innocently.

"My girlfriend would NEVER go on a date with you. She's loyal to me!" Mitchell let out.

"I have my ways," Derek smirked.

"They'd better be ways without breaking up a very good relationship," Mitchell growled.

"Nope, sorry. She has to go out on a date with me," Derek smirked wickedly. "Otherwise, I'll get my dad to banish her from every poetry competition for the rest of her pathetic life."

"You wouldn't! Poetry is her life!" Mitchell was angry. But not angry enough for an akuma to akumatize him.

"Deal with it, loser," Derek smirked again. "I'm Derek Stonewall, and I get whatever I want." His smirk widened. "And there's one more thing."

"What's that?" Mitchell asked lowly.

"She has to give me a passionate kiss on the lips," Derek smirked.

"ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND?!" Mitchell was upset.

"Nope," Derek laughed wickedly.

Jasmine would soon approach her boyfriend, Mitchell. "Hey, handsome," she said, kissing his cheek.

"Hey, princess," Mitchell smiled at her.

"Ahem," Derek coughed.

Mitchell sighed. "Babe, please don't be upset."

"Mitchell? What's going on?" Jasmine was confused.

"You know that poetry competition you entered?" Mitchell asked.

"Yes, I remember," Jasmine replied.

"Derek said that he'll put in a good word...but only if you go out on a date with him, and give him a passionate kiss on the lips," Mitchell said slowly.

"WHAT?!" Jasmine gasped.

"And he says that if you don't, he'll get his dad to banish you from every poetry competition you enter for the rest of your life," Mitchell continued.

Jasmine teared up, and ran away. Mitchell glared at Derek. "I hope you're happy! You made my princess cry!" He'd run after Jasmine to comfort her.

A mechanical whir broke the chamber's silence, and ghastly blue light was allowed into the circular room. The moment the light struck the white forms along the ground, the butterflies, now luminescent, took to the air. They filled the dim chamber as a cloud of beating wings, hovering around the figure in the center of the room. It would soon reveal Hawk Moth.

"A young poet, upset about her chances in a competition..." the butterfly villain mused. "Perhaps I could use this to my advantage."

He would let a butterfly land on his hand, and covered it with his other hand, giving it dark energy; turning it into an akuma. "Fly away, my evil little akuma, and corrupt her!"

The akuma flew out into Paris, searching for its victim.

Mitchell had caught up with his girlfriend, who was outside.

"Princess, I'm so sorry about that jerk," he said. "There has to be a way to get him to change his mind."

"Knowing him, it's not possible," Jasmine sighed sadly.

"You know you have other hobbies, my love," Mitchell hugged her.

"You don't understand, Mitchell! Poetry's my life!" Jasmine sobbed. "I've dreamed of winning a poetry competition ever since I was a little girl! And now, thanks to that idiot Derek; unless I make out with him, and go out on a date with him, I'll never be able to win! Never!"

"Princess, please," Mitchell frowned, hugging his girlfriend. "I'll always support you. Always."

He pulled away from the hug when he heard some fluttering. His eyes widened in shock as he saw the black and purple butterfly.

"Princess, think positive thoughts! An akuma!" he tried to warn her.

But it was too late. The akuma would flutter down to her lucky pen; and absorbed into it, turning it a deep black.

Jasmine would immediately look up, the area around her face becoming a darker shade of moderate vermilion. A light butterfly mask would also appear.

"Inkheart, I am Hawk Moth, and I grant you the power to manipulate ink from pens. You can turn people into statues as well."

"Princess, please! Don't listen to him!" Mitchell begged.

A smirk came onto Jasmine's face. "Will I be able to ruin Derek Stonewall?"

"Oh yes, and anyone who gets in your way. But I don't give this power for free. In exchange, seize the Miraculouses of Ladybug, Cat Noir, Ocelot, and Lionne. Do we have a deal?" Hawk Moth asked.

"Sounds good to me, Hawk Moth," Jasmine grinned darkly, beginning her transformation into a villain. When the dark ether faded, she would be black from head to toe. The only thing that wasn't black was her hair, which was rainbow, and tied up into a ponytail. The akumatized pen became one of those laser guns; merged with her left hand. Mitchell was in fear, before getting a determined look in his eyes.

"Jasmine, I'll save you, no matter what!" he shouted, before running off to hide.

Inkheart melted into the ground, traveling to find Derek first.

Speaking of the resident mean boy, he was whistling innocently, while walking, with a smirk on his face. He stopped when he heard something.

"Oh, poetry girl. Have you changed your mind about going out on a date with me, and that kiss?" he asked, puckering his lips.

"Poetry girl's not here," a dark voice let out, before the ink reappeared into the form of Inkheart.

Derek screamed like a little girl.

Inkheart would use the gun and set it to full blast, firing ink at the boy, freezing him mid scream.

"That suits you better," Inkheart laughed wickedly, before vanishing.

The akuma alert would soon go off, and everyone was running and screaming, as Inkheart attacked them. She laughed wickedly.

The butterfly outline reappeared. "Don't forget our deal," Hawk Moth said.

"Chill out, Hawky, I've got this," Inkheart grinned wickedly, as the butterfly outline faded away.

Marinette was hiding in an alleyway. "Oh god, I hope ChloƩ didn't cause this akumatization," she groaned, letting Tikki out of her purse.

"What matters the most is stopping Inkheart, before she covers all of Paris in ink!" Tikki let out.

"You're right. Tikki, Spots ON!" Marinette declared, transforming into her alter-ego: wearing a red superhero jumpsuit covered in black spots and with a black collar/turtleneck. Her yo-yo was wrapped around her waist with a red string. On her face is a red mask with five black spots that are in a symmetrical design, and the waterlines of her eyes are coloured black. Her earrings are red with five black spots in a quincunx pattern, and the bands holding her hair back become red ribbons, resembling a ladybug's antennas or a ladybug flying when she's moving. Her eyes became a vivid azure. She would pose at the end of her transformation.

Adrien would hide in the locker room. Thankfully, there was no one around. "No time to lose. Plagg, Claws Out!" His ring would turn black, and gain a green paw print on its face. He has cat eyes with green sclerae, dark green irises, and oval pupils. His hair becomes longer and untamed, and it covers his normal ears. Cat Noir wears a textured black skin-tight catsuit with metal details. He wears matching gloves that have claws on the fingertips and boots with a hidden wedge, silver toes, and paw-shaped treads. He has a golden bell on his neck, connected to a zipper on the front of his costume, and a long belt that wraps around his waist and hangs out from the back like a tail. He wears black cat ears and a black mask around his eyes. He'd pose at the end of his transformation.

Roland would find a place to hide, and let Occa out of his scarf once the coast was clear. "Occa, streaks on!" he declared, as Occa is absorbed into the silver oval hair clip: which turns black and the inside turns a golden yellow. It has 5 rosettes inside.

Roland soon wore a golden yellow suit with large streak spots on the arms, torso, back, and legs that have a thick black outline and are light yellow in the middle. He has a light yellow middle section down his middle that goes slightly down his thighs before curving under him and partly up his butt. Around his waist is a belt-like structure that holds a long tail that is golden yellow with black spots. His tail is very heavy and usually used for leverage, but can be removed to wield like a flail. He wore tall boots that point up to his knees with a black heel and a light metallic yellow toe that are fashioned like paws.

The sole of his boots also have paws on the bottom. His collar is black and goes up his neck; though it comes down in the middle with a diamond shape around the middle of his collar bone. His mask is heavily marked like an ocelot's face with black and white markings on golden yellow. His eyes gain a blue sclera and turn to slits like a cat's do. He has fake ocelot ears including oceli on the back of them. His hair also gets long and shaggier, the longest parts on both sides of his head gain a golden yellow ombre at the ends. He has gauntlets with heavily armored fingers joints and knuckles that end with sharp claws at the ends. He would pose at the end of his transformation.

Juliette hid in an empty classroom. "Leena, let's roar!" Leena would be absorbed into the barrette, which turned gold, and looked like a lion's paw. Juliette's eyes turned hazel, and became cat-like, and her platinum blonde hair was taken out of its braid, turning auburn, and becoming straight. Her clothes would be soon be replaced with a sleeveless golden and strapless dress that reached to her knees, and golden arm-length gloves with black claws on them. She also had long black boots, that had a golden lion logo on the back of each boot. A golden belt would be wrapped around her waist, and it had a long, lion tail attached to it. There were two holsters on her dress; each of them contained a dagger. Finally, a golden superhero mask would appear over her face. She would pose once her transformation was complete.

The four heroes would soon meet at the top of a building. Ladybug saw the akuma. "It seems like the laser gun is merged with her hand!"

"Just like Riposte," Cat Noir remembered.

"This will probably be difficult," Ocelot said.

"I'm sure we can handle it," Ladybug said.

Suddenly, Inkheart noticed them. "What are you freaks doing up there?! Come down so I can take your Miraculouses!"

"Hey, we're not freaks!" Cat Noir exclaimed. He was about to jump down, when Ladybug held him back.

"Be careful Cat! One shot from that laser gun, and you're done for!" she warned him.

"Perhaps we'll need a second chance?" Cat Noir suggested.

Ladybug nodded. "I'll quickly go and get Viperion," she said, hurrying out to get the part-time snake hero.

Minutes later, Ladybug would return with Viperion. He was wearing a mostly deep green, dark cyan, yellow, brilliant opal, and dark turquoise snake-themed superhero bodysuit, and appears slender and muscular. His suit has a snake-like textures and patterns, complete with fangs on his brilliant opal and turquoise-ish gray mask. His eyes change from cyan to brilliant spring green, and the dyed ends of his hair change to a moderate sea green. Along with this, he seems to wear light pink lipstick. He wears the snake bracelet miraculous on his wrist and carries a lyre as his weapon.

"Viperion, good to see you," Cat Noir said.

"Thanks Cat Noir. Who are these two?" he asked, noticing Lionne and Ocelot.

"This is Lionne and Ocelot; two permanent members of our team. Lionne, Ocelot, I'd like for you to meet Viperion," Ladybug introduced.

"Hey," Ocelot said.

"It's nice to meet you," Lionne smiled.

"Nice to meet you as well," Viperion said.

"Viperion, we'll need you to activate your Second Chance when I give the word. That way, we can go back to a moment before we all get turned into statues," Ladybug said.

"I'm thinking we might need more help," Lionne said.

"More help? What do you mean?" Ladybug was confused.

Inkheart growled. She would telepathically communicate with Hawk Moth. "I'm gonna need some help, if those pesky heroes have more of them. I won't be able to beat them, just by myself!"

Hawk Moth growled softly. "Fine. I'll grant you the additional ability to have your statues become your army. Just summon them, and they'll come to you."

"Much appreciated," Inkheart grinned wickedly, letting the telepathic connection fade away. She'd raise the merged laser gun in the air, activating a switch on it. "COME TO ME, MY INK STATUES!"

The five heroes gasped watching as the ink statues would slowly stumble forward from the spot that they had been frozen too. Lionne saw a frozen Derek stumble forward. He was a jerk; but she'd have to save him. Again.

"See what I mean?" Lionne looked at Ladybug.

"Okay, fair point. "LUCKY CHARM!" Ladybug exclaimed, throwing her yo-yo into the air. Magical ladybugs surrounded the yo-yo, before an item dropped into her hand. "It's a spider plushie." She then got an idea. "Don't move, I'll be right back." She'd use her yo-yo to go back to the massage parlour of Master Fu.

"Let me guess, you need another ally?" Master Fu asked Marinette.

"The Lucky Charm never lies," Marinette replied.

Master Fu would take out the Miraculous boxes; the one with the red designs; and the one with the blue designs. Marinette instantly picked out the Spider Miraculous. "I think Lionne might have someone in mind," she said.

"Excellent choice," Master Fu nodded.

"Tikki, Spots ON!" Marinette declared, transforming into her alter-ego: wearing a red superhero jumpsuit covered in black spots and with a black collar/turtleneck. She'd place the box with the Spider Miraculous inside her yo-yo, and quickly returned to her fellow heroes.

The heroes were waiting for Ladybug to return. "Can't believe we have to wait for Ladybug," Ocelot sighed.

"But she has a plan," Viperion responded. "We can always count on Ladybug to help out."

Ladybug would soon return.

"Where's the help?" Ocelot asked.

"I was thinking of having Lionne go and get the help," Ladybug said, taking the Spider Miraculous out of her yo-yo.

"Ooh, I've got someone in mind," Lionne smiled.

"Who?" Ocelot asked.

"Let's just say...he's the boyfriend of this akuma," Lionne smiled softly. She'd take the Spider Miraculous, and head off.

"Once Lionne returns, then you can activate your power," Ladybug said to Viperion.

"Got it," Viperion nodded.

Mitchell was hiding behind a brick wall. He had managed to avoid capture from the ink minions.

"My poor princess," he sighed. "There has to be something I can do."

"There is something that you can do," Lionne smiled, approaching him.

"Lionne! My girlfriend's been akumatized!" Mitchell exclaimed.

"Which is why we need your help," Lionne said. She would hold out the Spider Miraculous. "Mitchell Wright, here is the Miraculous of the Spider; which grants the power of Toxic Web. You will use it for the greater good."

"Whoa," Mitchell was wide-eyed, taking the box.

"Once the job is complete, you will return the Miraculous to either me, or Ladybug. Can I trust you?"

"I'll do anything to save my girlfriend, so yes, you can trust me," Mitchell responded.

Lionne nodded, gesturing to Mitchell to open the box she had given him. The young man would do so, revealing a bracelet with a spider charm on it.

A light appears from the box. It was silver.

Mitchell closed his eyes to block out the light.

Once the light faded, a tiny spider appeared. "Good day, kind sir. My name is Toxxin, and I am a Kwami, a being that grants superpowers," he said in a British accent.

"Superpowers?" Mitchell blinked curiously.

"Why yes, good sir. Your power is 'Toxic Web.' You can trap an opponent in a sticky web. However, once you use it, you will have 5 minutes before you transform back," Toxxin replied.

"Got it," Mitchell nodded, putting the bracelet on.

"To transform, good sir, all you must say is 'Toxxin, Web Out!'" the Kwami exclaimed.

"Toxxin, Web Out!" Mitchell declares, as he is turned into his hero counterpart. He has a black mask with three red dots on both sides. He wears a dark purple suit with black highlights, four of which stick out about 1 cm in length (2 on both sides). His gloves and boots are black as well. His eyes turn a redder shade of brown as well. His weapon was a bronze knuckle.

"Whoa, I look amazing," the transformed Mitchell let out.

"You sure do, uh..." Lionne trailed off, not knowing what to call him.

"Oh, call me Arachnid," the transformed Mitchell said.

Lionne nodded. "Let's head back." The two heroes would soon go to meet Ladybug, Ocelot, Cat Noir, and Viperion.

"Any time now, m'lady," Cat Noir sighed.

"Come on, kitty, Lionne should be back soon," Ladybug reassured him.

"But the army's getting bigger!" Cat Noir let out.

"Sorry I took so long," Lionne landed back on the roof with Arachnid. "This is Arachnid."

"Hey all, nice to meet you," Arachnid let out.

"Perfect, now we can go up against the army," Ladybug said. She looked over at Viperion. "Whenever you're ready."

Viperion nodded, activating his power. "Second Chance!" Now that he marked the moment in time by sliding back the snake figurehead on his bracelet, it slowly began ticking.

"Come on guys, let's get going," Ladybug said.

She and the others would jump down to fight.

"Finally," Inkheart rolled her eyes. "But I've got to say, it's gonna be easy to beat you. I have almost all of Paris under my control."

"Don't count yourself cocky, Inkheart," Viperion said.

"ATTACK!" Inkheart commanded her army. The ink-covered army shuffled forward.

Ladybug and the others would also go and attack. Inkheart would soon fire her gun at Cat Noir, who would get frozen, and join the army.

"Second Chance!" Viperion shouted, using his bracelet to fix what had just happened.

"Come on guys, let's get going," Ladybug said.

She and the others would jump down to fight.

"Don't count yourself cocky, Inkheart," Viperion said.

"ATTACK!" Inkheart commanded her army. The ink-covered army shuffled forward.

Ladybug and the others would also go and attack.

"Jasmine, please! Snap out of it!" Arachnid let out.

"Jasmine is gone! Inkheart has replaced her!" Inkheart would fire her laser gun at the spider hero, freezing him, and having him join her army.

"Second Chance!" Viperion would fix what had just happened.

"ATTACK!" Inkheart commanded her army. The ink-covered army shuffled forward.

Ladybug and the others would also go and attack.

Lionne and Ocelot would be hit by Inkheart, turning into statues; and then, unfreezing to be apart of the akuma's army.

"Second Chance!" Viperion would fix what had just happened.

"Come on guys, let's get going," Ladybug said.

"ATTACK!" Inkheart commanded her army. The ink-covered army shuffled forward.

Ladybug and the others would also go and attack.

"We need a plan, Ladybug," Cat Noir said.

"I'm thinking!" Ladybug let out.

"I think we could use some luck," Arachnid said.

"Good idea. "LUCKY CHARM!" Ladybug shouted, throwing her yo-yo into the air. Magical ladybugs surrounded it, before an item dropped into her hand. "A fire extinguisher?"

"We can use that to stop the akuma's army from getting closer. Then Cat Noir can use his power on the laser gun," Viperion realized.

"Good plan!" Ladybug grinned. She'd use the fire extinguisher, preventing the army from getting closer. This would allow Arachnid to sneak up. "Toxic Web!" he shouted, as a web would stick to Inkheart.

"Hey! Get...this...stupid...web...OFF OF ME!" she growled.

"CATACLYSM!" Cat Noir shouted, touching the laser gun that was fused with Inkheart's hand. It cracked, and melted away, letting the akuma break free, starting to flutter away.

"No more evildoing for you, little akuma," Ladybug began, swiping her finger across her yo-yo to open it. She would drop it down, and spin it behind her for a moment. "TIME TO DE-EVILIZE!" She threw the open yo-yo at the akuma, capturing it. "Gotcha!"

She turns around and taps her yo-yo to open it, to release the now purified butterfly. "Bye bye little butterfly."

Ladybug would take the fire extinguisher, and throw it up into the air. "MIRACULOUS LADYBUG!"

Magical ladybugs would go all around Paris; fixing all the damage that had been done; turning the army back into their normal forms, including Derek. The magical ladybugs would also pass by Inkheart, transforming her back into Jasmine. "Huh? What am I doing here?" Her lucky pen would also be restored, as she picked it up.

"POUND IT!" Ladybug, Cat Noir, Viperion, Ocelot, Lionne, and Arachnid exclaimed, fist bumping with one another.

Under the fluttering wingbeats, Hawk Moth growled and his cane creaked under the pressure of his grip. He clasped a hand over his brooch, and his voice rumbled against the metal walls, "Curse you, Ladybug. Your luck won't last forever." He then shouted to the window, as the metal shutters began to close, "I shall have your Miraculous one day!"

Arachnid would land in an alleyway, as his transformation let out.

"Good sir, that was most excellent," Toxxin said with his British accent.

"I know, it was so amazing," Mitchell let out, grinning. But then, it faltered. "I guess...this is goodbye for now?"

"Don't worry, good sir. We'll see each other again," Toxxin vowed.

Mitchell smiled. "Yeah, one day. Until then," he replied, taking the Miraculous off and putting it back in the box.

Ladybug would come to collect it; having already collected the Snake Miraculous from Luka. "Thanks for the help," she said.

"No problem," Mitchell replied. "Now I've got to go check on Jasmine!" He hurried out of the alleyway.

Jasmine would pick herself up from the ground. Mitchell ran up to her, kissing her deeply.

The girl giggled as she melted into the kiss; which lasted for 5 minutes. Upon pulling away, she smiled at him.

"What was that for?"

"Thank goodness you're okay, my princess. I've got a plan to trick Derek," Mitchell said.

"What is it?" Jasmine asked.

"Oh, you'll see, my princess," Mitchell whispered playfully into her ear.

Derek would soon be approached by both Mitchell and Jasmine.

"Well well well. If it isn't showman, and poetry girl," he sneered. His expression soon became flirtatious upon noticing Jasmine. "Well, baby? What do you say about that date with me?"

"Actually, we came to give you this form," Mitchell said, holding it out.

Derek took the form. "A scholarship? To the most prestigious sporting university in Paris?!"

"There's a catch though," Mitchell said. "You have to retract your statement about my girlfriend going out on a date with you; and that passionate kiss," Mitchell said.

"Whatever, pass me a pen!" Derek grinned.

Mitchell tossed him a pen, and Derek signed the form. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got to go to that sporting school and sign up for my classes!" He ran off.

"Oh, I can't wait for him to figure out that it was fake," Jasmine grinned at her boyfriend.

At the prestigious sporting school...

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN THERE'S NO SCHOLARSHIP?" Derek shouted to the receptionist.

"There isn't. We don't do them. You have to audition to get in," the receptionist said simply.

Derek's eye twitched. He fell to his knees, and cried out loudly. "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

Stay Miraculous everyone! No preview for the next chapter; because I'm not sure what akuma to do.
