A/N: Hello there. We're finally in the last stretch for this part of the au. Bill Luz will soon face her greatest challenge in her new life as Luz Noceda but I'm not here to spoil that yet.

If things go well in writing expect drama and stuff...

Anyways on with this chapter!

Luz had always disliked duels. They felt like a pointless waste of time, burdened by an excessive number of rules. Why should she wait for her opponent to get up again when she could simply defeat them while they were down? It made no sense to her.

That school Kendo club was utterly stupid. What did they know about "good sportsmanship" and proper conduct? No wonder they never managed to win any tournaments they participated in.

On the bright side, however, Luz found herself appreciating the Witch Duels of Jotunheim, also known as the demon realm, according to people on the Boiling Isles. At least those duels were conducted properly.

"Beloved citizens, the Emperor's Coven proudly presents an impromptu demonstration of the type of witch we seek every year. Please welcome Amity Blight!" exclaimed the head of the coven, whose name Luz couldn't be bothered to remember. The crowd of sheep-like followers cheered, unfortunately oblivious to the flaws within the coven system, cleverly disguised on the surface. The Bonehead of an emperor really got the masses blindly following and worshipping him that it was almost impressive. Almost.

Luz muttered to herself, "Wild Magic Bad my ass," as the crowd continued to cheer for Amity.

"Woo, Amity!" a fan shouted."Go, Amity! Kick their butt!" another fan yelled.

"I love you, Amity!" said another individual wearing a shirt with Amity's face on it... a weirdo indeed.

"And now, she will face off against... a human," announced the host. Immediately, the crowd fell silent at the mention of a human.

Annoyed, Luz glanced at the crowd, listening to their comments. Some whispered, "A human?" Others claimed, "Humans can't do magic." And then there were those who said, "They're not, Amity." It had only been a week and a half since Luz arrived, but she had already noticed the prejudice the witches held against humans due to their perceived lack of magic.

"Go, Masha! You can do it!" two witches who's name she vaguely remember as Will and Goop cheered on in contrast with the rest of the crowd. Well at least they know their loyalty otherwise she would think they were poor excuse for friends.

Speaking of Masha though...

She turned to them. She had been quite surprised when they told her they had challenged, Blight, to a witches duel.

Part of her was of course absolutely pissed off. They were supposed to keep a low profile here at covention but then she proceeded to blow their cover.

Fortunately for tooth gap a bigger part of her was amused. Tooth gap and Vee have always tried to be all goody two shoes so hearing they got into a fight was hilarious as heck.

"Masha did you really have to challenge Amity to a witches duel? She's Hexside's star student" Vee asked worriedly while giving Tooth gap a disapproving frown "What happened to keep a low profile?"

"Yeah, Tooth Gap. What did happen to keep a low profile. You were even nagging me about not cursing anyone who looks at us funny" Luz couldn't help but say in a smug stone.

Tooth gap smiled sheepishly "In my defense. Amity started it. Besides its not like I can't defend myself and I have my mask so the guards don't recognize me"

"You're pretty confident. I'm almost tempted to cut you off from Bifrost just so I can see your ass get kicked but that would reflect poorly on me as a teacher" Luz said joked and Tooth Gap simply chuckled at her. Well she will give them credit for confidence at least.

She watched as they walked into the arena. Luz is confident Tooth Gap will win. Compared to these poor excuse for magic users who crippled themselves because of some foolish belief in the carcass that serves as their island hates wild magic, Tooth Gap is proficient in the use of Bifrost magic. Not on Heimdall's level but impressive enough that she believes in a few more years Tooth gap could very well surpass the gold-teeth bastard in terms of skill at least.

Luz is in need of a "Watchman" for that little project of hers in the future but that's a story for another time.

Right now she has a match to watch.

The bell rang and the crowd started cheering. Amity made a spell circle and an Abomination rose from the ground. Amity looked surprised for some reason...how suspicious.

She briefly scanned for any sort of enhancement on the Blight girl which she found "Well...that should make things more interesting

Masha stood before Amity Blight and took a deep breath.

They were going to show her what Humans can really do. That and Luz would not let them hear the end of it if they lost against Amity.

The bell rang and the crowd started cheering. Amity made a spell circle and an Abomination rose from the ground which surprised both teens but for different reasons.

Masha reached within and called forth their Bifrost Magic which began to manifest in the form of a rainbow like energy around them.

When the abomination moved forward and attempted to slam them down with their fists, Masha side steps and unleashed a blast of bifrost energy that pierced through the abomination and into a wall next to Amity.

Amity as well as most of the crowd were stunned at seeing this

The Blight girl, as well as everyone, turned to look at Masha with surprise. They've always thought Human were weak, that they were powerless, and couldn't use any magic and yet this human before them was able to do so.

"Abomination, fight!" Amity scowled as she ordered, sounding a little desperate.

Amity's heart sank as it became painfully clear that the match was completely one-sided – and not in her favor. Despite throwing every abomination she could summon, Masha effortlessly dodged or destroyed them all. It was only a matter of time before Masha broke through her defenses, and Amity found herself lying on the ground, defenseless and vulnerable.

Her opponent aimed that strange, unknown energy towards her, and Amity could feel the weight of defeat settle heavily on her shoulders. She had trained for months under Lilith's mentorship, but it seemed all for naught.

"Yield" Masha said

Amity stared at her for a second before hesitantly saying "I yield."Masha deactivated Bifrost only for Amity to suddenly run out of the arena.

"Uh-oh."Feeling bad, Masha tried to run after Amity but to her shock Lilith suddenly landed right in front of them

"Not so fast, Night Witch"

"Oh fuck" Masha cursed realizing Lilith had realized who they were when they mentioned their wanted poster nickname.

"Did you really think I would not recognize you? That wild magic of yours is a dead giveaway. I was hoping Amity would be able to defeat you but it seems we can't all get what we want" Lilith raised her staff "Under the authority of the emperor, I place you under arrest. Do not resist"

"Why don't you pick on someone your own size, dipshit" Masha heard Luz announced as she landed in between them and Lilith who took a step back

Luz smirked as she watched Lilith take a step back upon her arrival

"Merlin" Lilith called her by her alias that she's using while on the Isles.

"Sup" Luz greeted nonchalantly before turning to Masha "Why don't you go on ahead and go after Little miss perfect. Vee's waiting for you outside"

With a nod, Masha immediately did as told. Lilith of course tried to stop Masha but Luz simply brandished Gungnir which was enough to stop Lilith.

"Up up up. Not so fast. Your opponent is me" Luz said twirling the spear of heaven in her hands

"You leave my apprentice alone Merlin" Lilith said as a group of coven scouts arrived and surrounded her "I will not have you corrupt her with your wild ways"

Luz pretended to think about it "How about no? Honestly if anyones corrupting her it's you with how terrible of a teacher you are. I pity the so called next generation you're teaching"

Lilith's face went red offended at her teaching skills being offended "Enough of this! Your reign of chaos will end today, Merlin" the coven head along with the rest of the scouts prepared their spells.

Luz herself got into a fighting position but before anything could happen a ringing noise interrupted them.

Luz immediately realized it was calling from her mirror phone "Whoops sorry that's me" she said before pulling out her phone and answering "Yelo, Merlin speaking"

Lilith and the scouts seemed taken back at the audacity she has to answer a call in the middle of a fight.

"Hi Mija, Just wanted to check in to hear how you're doing" Luz had to hold back a groan hearing it was her father calling her

"I'm kinda in the middle of something. Can we talk later?" Luz said while looking around and making sure none of her opponents do something stupid.

"Whoops. Sorry. Talk to you later then, Mija. Love you, bye" Manny said but didn't hang up as if he was waiting for Luz to say something.

"L-Love you too, papi" Luz said embarrassed at having to say the L word. She then heard her father end the call.

Of course her embarrassment quickly turned to annoyance when one of scouts who heard what she said chuckled at her.

"Oh you think that's funny? Wait till I'm done with you and you'll be laughing for all of eternity!"

As Luz jumped into battle she can't help but think back to that one fateful day that changed everything.

Luz silently entered the hospital room with her grimoire in hand.

She still can't believe she was doing this. Yet she can't help but still ask herself why?! There was no point to this. Humans will eventually die. This sucker was just an unlucky bastard to have gotten a disease that cut his lifespan down...

Unfortunately this unlucky bastard also happened to be her idiot of a father.

She knows she can do something about it which means the damn frilly also knows and would probably punish her if she let it happen.

That and the vile woman and Vee would probably cry about it like wusses.

Stupid human brain making think and feel weird. She might just go through with suppressing specific parts of it just so she can stop having these stupid human thoughts and emotions.

Whatever.

She might as well get this over with...

Contrary to what others would expect it was not that hard to fix whatever it was that was messing the idiot's body.

It was so easy it was barely an inconvenience.

She simply used her grimoire which allowed her to reach in and pulled out the tumor which she locked away with a snap of a finger.

To think this mere cancer has plagued humanity for so long.

...

The next day the vile woman and the idiot were crying tears of joy and celebrating about how "It's a miracle!"

Of course when Vee asked they chose to be vague in some poor attempt to not worry them.

Regardless Vee just joined in the celebration despite being oblivious to what they were celebrating about.

She didn't know why but seeing them all so happy made her feel...satisfied?

How odd...
