At Casey's grandmother's farmhouse, Master Splinter, Michelangelo, Leonardo, Donatello and Daniel were standing outside under the light of the moon. Each of them covered in bandages and grimacing in pain from their wounds that were inflicted on them during their final fight with the Shredder and Vlad Plasmius.
MASTER SPLINTER: Life moves as the wheel of destiny turns. Day to night, night to day. Our fight with the Shredder and Plasmius nearly cost us our lives. We are broken and battered, but alive. Our bodies will heal, but I wonder…."
Splinter walks towards the window and looks inside to see April, Casey, Maddie, Sam, Tucker and Jazz all being held at gunpoint by someone.
Do my sons carry other wounds not so easily overcome? I know with a great heaviness, there will always be some new threat to challenge us.
The five of them split up and went in different directions. Leo snuck up to the black car and pressed down on the horn before heading off to hide. The door opened and coming out of the house were several men in Purple Dragons jackets and carrying guns with them.
I only pray my sons will be prepared to face it.
COUSIN SID
The moon shone down at Casey's grandmother's farm house. The door opened and the first to enter was April and Jazz helping a slightly weak and wounded Master Splinter inside.
"Just a little bit further Master Splinter." April encouraged as they continued inside.
"Finally! Now someone get me a fork or something! You have no idea how bad my legs itch!" Mikey complained as they entered inside.
"Yeah we do Mikey. We heard about it the whole trip." Donnie said as he followed beside Mikey.
Raph grimaced in pain as he was helped inside by Casey and Tucker. Maddie and Sam followed behind helping Danny inside.
"You wouldn't shut up about it bro. Don't forget that you're not the only one who's wounded right now." Danny reminded his brother. Leo was the last one to enter inside.
It had been only a couple of days since their final fight with the Shredder and Vlad Plasmius. They had been badly wounded by their enemies. Master Splinter had been burned by a severe electrical shock, leaving several patches of fur gone from his body, Danny had bandages on his stomach and his right arm and leg was in a cast, which he needed a crutch for, Mikey's legs were both in casts and he had to use crutches to move around, Donnie's arm was in a cast, Raph had bandages wrapped around his chest, right shoulder and his ankle and as for Leo, he had bandages wrapped around one of his shoulders and the top part of his chest. A piece of his shell was now missing.
All of them had nearly lost their lives as seeing the only option to stop Shredder and Plasmius once and for all, was to blow up their entire star ship. But just before it exploded, Maddie, Mortu and the other Utroms had come to their rescue.
Shredder and Plasmius were then put on trial at the Utrom Homeworld and thanks to all testimonies, they were found guilty. Shredder had been sentenced to exile on an ice asteroid, never to return and as for Plasmius, he was stripped of his ghost powers leaving him as a human and then sent off to the prison planet known as Kazuton where he would live the rest of life imprisoned.
It was unknown what had happened to Karai and Dr Chaplain, but as for Valerie, the Utroms had sent her to live with a past guardian who was a close friend to her father after she had tried to help Danny and the Turtles when she had discovered that Plasmius had murdered her father.
And finally, Maddie Fenton was able to return back to Earth, now that Plasmius and Shredder were finally no more. After they had returned to Earth, they had decided that it was best to get out of the city for a while in order to give them time to heal and recover.
Jazz and April helped Splinter sit down in one of the arm chairs in the living room. Splinter sighed in content and then said, "Thank you girls. I am not as young as I once was. Wounds take longer to heal."
"I'm still young as I once was and I don't think I'm ever gonna heal." Mikey continued to complain.
Casey and Tucker laid Raph down on the couch. Raph then commented while in pain, "Too bad you didn't break your draw. Then maybe we'd finally get a little piece and quiet around here. Ow!"
Mikey groaned as he made his way to the other lounge chair, until finally he sat down and placed his legs up on the foot rest while sighing with relief.
He then suddenly smelt a horrible smell and began to say, "Ewe! What's that smell? It smells like burnt….."
He then stopped when he realised the smell was coming from Master Splinter. He immediately apologised, "Oh right! Sorry sensei."
"Even with all my years of medical training and experience with the Utroms, all your wounds are going to take time to fully heal." Maddie said as she and Sam sat Danny down in a spare chair.
"We appreciate all your help Maddie." Splinter said gratefully.
"Well who's hungry? Tucker, Casey, Jazz and I are going to head to the supermarket up the road to get some food and other supplies." Sam enquired.
"Me! / I am / Me as well / Same goes for me." Danny, Raph, Mikey and Donnie all said.
Leo however said nothing and continued to look out the window. Jazz tried once more, "Leo, what about you?"
"Leonardo?" Splinter asked.
Leo still didn't turn around and just said, "I'm fine."
An hour later, Casey, Jazz, Tucker and Sam had returned from the store and were walking back and forth outside grabbing the groceries, unaware that someone was watching them from the storm cellar.
"So tell me again Sam, why we had to stop by the side of the road to fill a whole bag of berries?" Tucker asked.
"Nature is full of surprises Tuck. These berries are known to speed healing such as burns. I'd thought they'd help Splinter with his burns." Sam answered.
Upstairs in the attic which had been turned into a bedroom for Danny, the Turtles and Splinter whenever they came out to visit, Maddie was applying medical treatment to all of them, while April had bought up some snacks that would tide them over until they could make dinner.
Mikey sighed with relief as he used a fork to scratch his legs. Maddie repeated as she tended to Danny, "Mikey, stop scratching."
"April, did you bring your laptop? Do you think we could get a wireless signal from out here?" Donnie requested.
Before April could speak, Mikey asked, "Hey April, could you run out and get some comics for me?"
"Hey April! Can you whack Mikey upside the head for me? I can't reach." Raph then asked.
"April, any chance we could bring the TV up here?" Danny asked.
"My sons enough!" Splinter reprimanded. "Our bodies need rest to heal and that includes your mouths."
Mikey continued to scratch, but April snatched away the fork and repeated what Maddie said, "No scratching!"
Once again, Leo was at the window just staring outside. Maddie tried to speak to him, "Leo, you need to rest as well. I'll be with you shortly to change your bandages."
"I'll rest…..I'll rest later." Leo said.
The stranger that was watching them from the storm cellar before, climbed out and snuck his way over to the house. He climbed over the rail and carefully, stepped onto the patio. However his footsteps were heard by the Splinter's ears.
"Someone is outside." Splinter informed them all.
"Stay up here. We'll go and check it out." April said and then she and Maddie left the basement.
Downstairs, Casey was smiling as he saw a part of the wall that had dried plaster over it. He laughed at the memory as he began to say, "Amazing. You can still see the hole they plastered up when I punched through it, back when I was…."
April shushed him and said, "Casey, guys, Splinter heard someone outside."
"Out here? Are you sure?" Sam said. "The nearest neighbour is about ten miles down the road, so there shouldn't be anyone else out here."
They all suddenly heard the sound of someone trying to open the front door. Casey glared and walked over to find out who was trying to break in.
Without asking who it was, Casey pulled the door right open and a man nearly Casey's age came falling through. Casey grabbed him by the collar of his jacket and held him up against the wall.
The man had a small amount of facial hair on his chin, the same hair colour as Casey and was wearing a faded green coat, yellow shirt and dirty jeans.
"CASEY!" The man pleaded.
Casey's eyes widened as he suddenly recognised who he was holding. He frowned and said, "Well, what do know? You're not welcome here."
"Last I checked, this was my grandma's house too." The man said.
"Casey, who is this?" Jazz asked.
"Put me down you psycho!" The man demanded.
Casey let him down and then answered Jazz's question, "This everyone, is my gambling, thieving, good-for nothing Cousin Sid."
April crossed her arms and then said with a slight smirk, "Wow! And I thought Casey was the black sheep of the Jones family."
Ignoring that comment, Casey asked his cousin, "What do want Sid? You always want something."
"I just want what's mine. You get this house, you get the girl, and well I want my share! I want the money!" Sid answered.
Everyone, including Casey all looked in confusion at what he said. Casey asked, "What are you talking about Sid?"
Donnie was standing at the top of the staircase, listening in on the conversation as Sid said, "You know what I'm talking about. I'm talking about the loot."
He pointed to the picture of Casey's grandfather on the fireplace and continued, "Everyone knows that grandpa robbed that train. I want grandpa's share of the Hoopick Tunnel train job."
Donnie walked back up and passed on the info to the others, "Casey's cousin says that Casey's grandfather was a train robber."
"We should've known Casey came from a long line of bone heads." Raph commented.
Tucker looked at his PDA for a moment and then said, "There's no history record on this train robbery that took place, nor anything about Casey's grandfather."
"Exactly because nobody ever believed that story. You're crazy Sid." Casey said.
"I believed it. He said he buried the loot. Spot marks the X he was always saying the crazy old coot." Sid said. "I dug holes out here for years looking for anything that looked like an X. It's gotta be here!"
"Spot marks the X? That's not right." Maddie commented. "The saying goes X marks the spot."
Casey shook his head and opened the door as he demanded his cousin, "Get out of here!"
Sid shook his head and said starting to sound desperate, "I need that money Casey! You've got it don't you? You've got the money!"
"Sid, there is no money!" Casey repeated.
"Why are you so desperate for money anyway?" Sam asked.
April then asked, "Sid, are you in trouble?"
Sid sighed and suddenly, pulled out a high tech rifle out his jacket and held it at Casey, Jazz, Maddie, Sam and Tucker as he demanded, "Spot marks the X Casey! You're lying! Now give me that money or things are gonna get ugly!"
Leo helped Donnie back up the stairs as the purple mask wearing turtle said, "Well, so much for that family reunion. Cousin Sid just bought a Federation blaster to the party."
"Should've known Casey's lack of smarts would've run in the family." Raph commented as he painfully sat up."
"So what should we do? We can't just leave Casey, Sam and that downstairs with Sid at gunpoint." Danny asked, worried about their friends and his mother.
"Hey! I got an idea." Mikey said as he pulled up the old bear skin rug. "We disguise ourselves in old animal skins, get ourselves close enough to Sid and then spring on him!"
"Oh Mikey! If only I get reach you right now….Bam!" Raph growled, shaking his fist, but then yelped in pain.
"You must take this seriously. Sid is obviously distressed." Splinter advised. "We need to…."
"I'll take care of Sid." Leo cut in and began heading to the window.
"Leonardo? Leonardo!" Splinter called out as he saw his son opening the window.
Leo stopped when he suddenly saw a pair of headlights coming onto the property. Mikey and everyone looked out the window and saw the car stopped.
"That can't be good." Mikey commented.
The car doors opened and out came several men, each wearing jackets with the Purple Dragons gang symbol on the back and also wearing shirts with the symbol on the front as well.
Each of them held Federation blasters in their hands. The main leader of the group led his team towards the barn house and then kicked the door open.
"Hey there Sid. Long time, no see. Looks like you're having quite the party here." The leader commented with a grin as his other men entered the room.
Sid now looked really terrified and tried talking to him, "Spuds! What are you doing here? I told you, you'd get the money."
Spud picked his teeth with his toothpick and then said, "Sid, Sid, Sid. I'm not some two-bit bookie anymore. We're Purple Dragons now."
Casey let out a laugh, "Purple Dragons? What are you? The North Hampton chapter?"
He then continued to joke, "Look guys, they got matching jackets. OOOOOH!"
"Shut up Casey!" Sid warned.
Spuds placed a hand on Sid's shoulder and said, "The Dragons have a new agenda. We're going places and all markers are being called in. That means yours too Sid."
Leo and Donnie listed in from at the top of the stairs. Leo growled while holding his shoulder in pain, "Purple Dragons. I hate Purple Dragons."
"I told you I'd get you the money Spuds and I will! Tonight!" Sid said, trying to get more time.
"Oh I know you will Sid, we're just here to make sure your little treasure hunt goes smooth." Spuds said as his men held their weapons at Casey and the others, causing them all to raise their hands. "Boys, help Sid look."
The men laughed and then without warning, began trashing the place. Throwing chairs, destroying the table and even knocking down a whole shelf of antiques that belonged to Casey's grandmother.
"Why you…." Casey said, starting to get mad at these punks.
Before he could make a move, Spuds held his gun at them in warning. His men continued to trash the place, trying to find the so-called hidden money. One of them accidentally let off a spear gun, which pierced right through the roof and into the attic.
"You guys here that? Sounds like they're wrecking the place." Danny commented.
"I sure picked the wrong time to have broken legs." Mikey said.
"Speak for yourself Mikey. I could take seven Purple Dragons by myself, lying on my back." Raph whispered.
"Our injuries do have us at a disadvantage." Splinter said.
Leo stood up and said, "Enough talk. I say we take them down."
"Leo, you're stealing Raph's line." Mikey commented, noticing Leo's new-found attitude.
Raph smirked and said, "Hey I don't mind. I love when Leo talks tough. We should get Karai to stab him more often."
Leo clenched his fist and growled at Raph, really not taking his comment very lightly. Mikey stood in front of Raph and said, "Easy Leo. Leave Raph to me."
Mikey looked down at his brother and continued, "Raph needs a hiding place? Don't you Raphie boy? And I got just the spot."
"Hiding spot?" Raph said, confused by what his little brother meant.
He suddenly found himself being carried by Leo and Donnie to the closet and placing him on the floor. Raph sneered, "Don't even think about it! No way am I missing this action!"
"Don't worry Raph. We'll come back for you….maybe." Mikey said with a wink as Leo and Donnie left the closet and then Danny closed the door.
"Mikey…..you better hope I never heal." Raph threatened, before yelping in pain again.
After a few more minutes of searching the place, Spuds was getting impatient, "I'm not seeing any of this treasure Sid."
Splinter, Leo, Donnie, Danny and Mikey were outside. Splinter then nodded to all of them and each of them split up in different directions. Splinter walked over to the window and listened in on Spuds.
"You know what happens if we don't get that money." He warned Sid.
Now Sid was getting scared for his life. He began to stutter, "I….I….."
He then lied quickly trying to save his skin, "Casey has the money! He found it!"
"What?! Sid you weasel!" Casey shouted at his cousin.
"Listen you no-good punks! Casey doesn't have the money and we have been up here plenty of times to know there is no hidden money up here." Sam shouted.
"Shut it kid! We're gonna have to beat the truth out of you." Spuds said. "Boys…."
Spud's men began to advance on them, April, Sam, Jazz and Maddie gave each other nods and stood ready in case they were going to have to use their fighting skills to get them out of this situation since they had been trained by Master Splinter and the Utroms.
Suddenly, the sound of Spud's car horn began to blare which caused them all to stop. Spud shouted in anger, "What the…..that's my car! Nobody ever messes with my car! Ever!"
He grabbed one his men by the collar of his shirt and immediately ordered, "Max! You and the others find out whoever's out there and take care of them."
Max and the others did what theyr were told and headed outside to hear the car's horn still blaring. He headed over to the car and opened up the door to find out who was in there, but when he did there was no-one there.
He turned to the others and ordered, "Alright! Search the place! A ghost didn't haunt that horn."
However, as soon as Max was alone, he was dragged right into the car and the door closed. The sounds of punches could be heard and suddenly, Max groaned as he fell out of the car. Danny turned visible and floated as he said, "Technically, a halfa haunted the horn."
One of the Purple Dragons began heading Mikey's way at the side of the barn. Mikey was hiding behind the pile of firewood. Mikey looked at his crutch, and knew it would help as a make-shift weapon. However as he moved, the end of his foot hit one of the log, causing him to shout out in pain and the fall backwards right into the pile.
The noise alerted the Purple Dragon and he began making his way over. Mikey looked at his other crutch out of reach and said, "Oh shell! I wonder if it's too late to switch places with Raph."
Mikey pushed himself up and began to use his other crutch to reach over and grab the other one. It was stuck on the railing of the woodpile shed.
He pulled and pulled and then smiled as successfully managed to pull it towards him just as the Purple Dragon was coming up right near him. Suddenly the entire woodpile shed began to fall and before the Purple Dragon could get out of the way, it fell right on top of him and knocked him unconscious.
Mikey looked at his achievement and complimented himself, "Two broken legs, flat on my shell and I'm still all that and a bag of chips."
He then said in hunger, "Hmmmm….chips."
The other Purple Dragon began making his way into the barn. Suddenly the headlights of an old car that was parked in there came on.
"Okay buddy. Games….." He began to say as he walked over to the car, but then stopped when he saw there was no-one in there.
He then heard and saw a chain swinging. Donnie was doing his best moving stuff. As he tried to lift an old tire, it hit his arm and he had to cover his mouth to keep himself from shouting out in pain. He then picked it up and rolled it across the platform.
"Whose there?!" The Purple Dragon shouted, becoming freaked out.
He began to climb the ladder, but Donnie ran up and jumped onto the ladder, pushing it backwards, causing the Purple Dragon to land in the hay. Donnie quickly grabbed onto some rope and with just one hand, he swung it down, wrapped it around his leg and swung down, lifting the Purple Dragon upside down and swinging.
"Hey! Get me down from here! Spuds! Guys! Help!" The Purple Dragon screamed, but then Donnie shoved hay into his mouth.
"Nighty-night dragon boy." Donnie said before punching him right in the face.
One of the other Purple Dragons was searching the fields, but then became spooked by a shadowy figure standing over him. He pulled back the long grass, to reveal it was a scarecrow wearing Splinter's robes.
He was unaware however, that Splinter was disguised as the scarecrow. He turned around as he caught whiff of a bad smell.
"Ewe! What's that smell? Smells like burnt…." He began to say, when suddenly he was hit from behind and he fell to the ground unconscious, with Splinter standing as victor.
"I may indeed smell, but at least I am still conscious." Splinter said with a grin.
One of the other Purple Dragons returned back to the car after finding no-one and saw that Max was no longer at the car.
He ran over and opened the door as he asked, "Max! You in there?"
He suddenly heard a noise and turned and saw Max was lying across the bonnet of the car, completely unconscious.
Before he could do anything, Leo came out of the car and slammed the door right into him, knocking him to ground.
"Good shot Leo." Mikey said as he, Donnie, Danny and Splinter joined him.
Back inside the barn house, Spuds was starting to lose his patience. April then tried reasoning with Sid, "Sid, it doesn't have to be like this. We can talk this out."
"Talking ain't gonna find that money! Talking ain't gonna get Spuds off my back!" Sid protested.
"It's all about you ain't it? Nothing changes." Casey said.
"Shut up over there! I've heard enough out of all of you." Spuds demanded.
He suddenly heard a noise outside and opened the front door, revealing it was one of his men who fell right to the floor in front of him with a groan of pain. He turned Max around and saw tapped to his shirt was a crude picture of a turtle with its tongue poking out.
"Here we go." Tucker whispered, knowing that Danny, Splinter and the others were on the case.
"Spike? Jake? ANYONE?!" Spuds shouted outside.
"Heya cuz." Casey said, before he punched Sid right into the wall and the grabbed the blaster.
Spud immediately fired his blaster at them, causing the group to split from each other to avoid getting hit. Casey was about to grab his golf bag, but Spuds blasted it away from him.
"You should've stayed out of this. Now I'm gonna teach you a lesson you ain't never gonna forget." Spuds said as he prepared the fatal shot.
He was interrupted when Sam threw a plate like a shuriken and knocked the blaster right out of Spuds hands. Spuds turned and looked at Sam as he said, "Little girl, you're gonna wish you'd never done that."
"That's funny, I was gonna say the same thing to you." Sam said.
Spuds charged right at them all, but April grabbed onto Spuds and flipped him right over her shoulders towards Maddie, who raised her leg and delivered a powerful kick to his stomach which sent him flying towards Jazz, who punched him right in the face and sent him falling to the floor.
Casey and Tucker were about to run over and help them, but Sid grabbed Casey's hockey stick and stopped them as he said, "Casey, I gotta have that money! I'm sorry."
Spuds stood up and immediately grabbed the blaster and held it up at Sam, Jazz, Maddie and April and said, "Now, about that lesson…."
He grabbed April's wrist, but she smirked and flipped him over her shoulders again and flipped the weapon out of his hands.
Sid tried attacking Casey with the hockey stick, but he managed to grab onto the end of it and threw Sid right over to the wall, which caused Spuds to get distracted and allowed April to first punch him in the stomach once again and then allowed Sam to leap up and kick him in the face and sent him crashing into the wall.
"Looks like all that training paid off." Casey said to the girls.
"Remind me to never get on your bad side Sam." Tucker said, really impressed by her skills.
"This isn't over." Spuds said.
April grabbed the blaster and warned him, "Don't get any bright ideas."
"You have no idea who you're messing with. The Purple Dragons…" Spuds began to say, but Casey lifted him up and said, "Whatever Sid owes, it's paid off as of right now."
"Or what?" Spuds dared.
He took Spuds outside and aimed the blaster right at his car. Spuds immediately got worried and pleaded and begged, "Okay! Okay! Don't shoot! I'll find a way to cover his marker! Square it with the Purple Dragons! You don't own us anything Sid! Just please don't hurt the car! Deal?"
With that, Suds piled all his unconscious buddies in the car and drove away as Casey commented, "Good riddance to bad rubbish."
As Mikey began to climb back into the window, he began to say, "Okay, the pain is worth it. Just so I can razz Raph for missing all the action."
Raph however found a way out of the closet and pulled away Mikey's crutch, causing the ninja turtle to slip and fall to the floor as he said, "Not all the action Mikey."
"Why did you do it Casey? Why did you help me out with Spuds after all I did?" Sid asked.
"Sid, you're a whack bag but you're still family." Casey simply answered.
"Everybody deserves a new start." Maddie advised. "Even you Sid, but this time make sure you actually take this chance to fix your life."
Casey suddenly thought of something and began repeating what Sid had said before, "Spot marks the X….Spot marks the X…."
He suddenly realised something and said, "It couldn't be, but come to think about it, it's gotta be. Spot. Sid, don't you remember the stray dog grandpa took in? He loved that dog."
He began to walk over the barn and the others followed him. Casey then began to explain, "Spot one day got sick and passed away and I remember this big foundation that grandpa used to mark Spot's grave with."
Finally they found the foundation and Sid said in excitement, "What are we waiting for? Let's pry that sucker loose!"
Casey pulled the stone away and pulled out a medium sized case. They all couldn't believe it! The story of Casey's grandfather was true!
Sid grabbed the case and began to cheer, "I can't believe it! It's the money! Finally, it's mine!"
He was about to walk away with it, but then stopped and realised what he had to do. He passed it back to Casey and said, "You gave me a second chance Casey. I'm not gonna blow it. We'll share it."
Casey opened the case, but there was no money inside. There was nothing but pieces of paper. Tucker picked one of them up and said, "These are receipts for all different types of charities."
"Looks like grandma never approved of grandpa's train robbing past, so she made up for it." Casey guessed.
Sid couldn't believe it, "I've been digging holes out here for years and I find out she donated it all to charity. She gave it away."
"Well, I guess that makes her the only white sheep in your family." April joked and they all laughed.
"They're laughing! That's nice! I can't move and they're laughing!" Mikey complained.
"We'll heal, then we'll beat the shell out of Casey for having a whack bag family, but you're first Mikey." Raph said and then slapped Mikey.
