Episode 6A: A Cat's Hunger

Catboy was patrolling the city in his Cat Racer, looking left and right for villains. Surprisingly, he didn't see any sign of villains.

"Hmmm. I guess I can go back to Power Q...no villains out tonight," Catboy thought out loud. Just as he was about to turn the Cat Racer around, he noticed a picnic basket in the middle of the road.

"What's that picnic basket doing in the road like that? That was never there before." Catboy jumped out of the Cat Racer and approached the basket. Suddenly, a heavenly smell filled his nostrils. His cat ears twitched, his eyes dilated, and he looked down at the basket. The blue cat had never smelled anything so good.

"T-That smells absolutely...amazing," he said to himself, crouching down to open the basket. In it, there was a bunch of mouth-watering chocolate chip cookies.

"By my cat's whiskers! Cookies!" Catboy looked around for anyone watching him. He didn't see anyone. "Looks like I have them all to myself."

The blue cat ate all the cookies, and, feeling satisfied, he took the empty basket and drove off. While he was driving, his eyes shined orange.

"Those cookies were so good," he said.

The next day, Connor spoke to his friends at lunch.

"...I found a basket of cookies sitting in the middle of the road last night!" Connor said.

"And you ate them?" Amaya asked.

"Yeah...I wish I could eat them again...they were so...delicious," Connor answered. When he said delicious, his eyes shined orange for about two seconds. Greg and Amaya looked at each other, and then back at Connor.

"Connor, are you sure those cookies were safe to eat?" Amaya inquired. "Your eyes turned orange a second ago."

"Yeah, they were safe to eat...don't you worry about me, Amaya," Connor answered. His eyes shined orange again. "I can't shake off the taste of those cookies, though...even after I ate breakfast."

"I think something is up with Connor," Amaya whispered to Greg. "His eyes are always blue, not orange."

"Yeah, a villain must've poisoned those cookies," Greg whispered back. "Let's investigate tonight. PJ Masks, we're on our way..."

"Into the night, to save the day!" Amaya and Greg announced. They looked at Connor in worry. His mind looked like it had gone somewhere else.

That night, the Power Heroes gathered in the meeting room. This time, Catboy didn't ask about tonight's mission. He just stared at the table, and his eyes were narrowed. He also had a smile on his face.

"Catboy, you good?" Lynx asked.

"Oh! What?" Catboy yelped, looking at Lynx in a startled way. His eyes were orange again, but this time, the orange stayed.

"Shuddering shards! What's up with your eyes?" Lynx asked in slight fear.

"Cookies..." Catboy said slowly, a distant look in his eyes. He smiled again.

"Cookies?" Bastet echoed.

"Catboy ate some cookies out of a basket that he found in the middle of the road," Owlette explained. "Now he can't stop thinking about them."

"That's creepy...meow," Bastet commented honestly.

"Yeah, it is. Gekko and I are going to investigate, and we're taking Catboy with us," Owlette replied.

"Okay..." Catboy said, still in his trance.

"To the Gekko Mobile!" Gekko yelled. The main PJ Masks ran towards the vehicle hatch.

"PJ Masks, all shout hooray..." the Power Heroes began.

"The PJ Masks, go save the day!" Owlette and Gekko declared.

"Can't stop...thinking...about...cookies," said a very hypnotized Catboy as the Gekko Mobile drove through the city.

"We need to find out who's responsible for poisoning our friend," Owlette said.

"Yeah...this version of Catboy is creeping me out," Gekko replied, looking over to Catboy, who was licking the back of his hand. Eventually, the heroes reached the museum.

"Maybe Pharaoh Boy has finally tried his hand at cooking," Gekko suggested.

"Maybe...let's go see," Owlette said. Gekko parked the Gekko Mobile, and all the PJ Masks went inside the museum.

"Pharaoh Boy! Come out! It's the PJ Masks!" Owlette yelled as the heroes walked through the exhibits. "Maybe he isn't responsible for this."

"Yeah, let's-" before Gekko could finish, Owlette opened the doors to the space exhibit, and a white girl was revealed. She had on an all-orange suit with a yellow waffle-net pattern, and her hair was covered by her mask. She was using a giant wooden spoon to mix up a cauldron of food...and it smelled delicious. Startled, Owlette and Gekko hid behind the doors. Catboy was too hypnotized to be startled, so Owlette pulled him to hide with her.

"Who's that?" Owlette whispered.

"I don't know...but she's cooking something..." Gekko replied, peeking out from behind one of the doors. He took a sniff of the air. "...and it smells pretty awesome."

"Let's confront her," Owlette hissed, not focused on the smell. Owlette and Gekko jumped into action. Catboy just walked over to them, his eyes still orange. The white girl didn't seem startled by the heroes, though.

"Hello, my friends," she said, still mixing her food. "Would you like to sample some soup?"

"One, we barely know you, and two, no! We would not like to sample your soup!" Owlette snapped.

"Who are you people, anyway?" the white girl inquired, putting her empty hand on her hip.

"I'm Owlette, this is Gekko, and that's Catboy. We're part of the PJ Masks Power Heroes," Owlette introduced. "Who are you?"

"I'm Pepper Paprika, the best cook in the city!" the white girl said. "But you guys can call me Pepper."

"Cookies..." Catboy said.

"Oh! Looks like someone ate the cookies I baked! How delightful!" Pepper realized, looking at Catboy.

"It's not delightful! Catboy can't function properly because his mind is set on those poisonous cookies you left for him to eat!" Owlette snarled.

"Poisonous? My food is not poisonous. It just hypnotizes whoever eats it. Once it slithers down the victim's throat, he or she becomes focused on the food and the person who made it," Pepper stated. "It's all part of my plan to take over the world with the power of food!"

"So you're a villain. I knew it," Owlette hissed. Pepper chuckled and grabbed a cookie out of her pocket. She held it out for Catboy to see.

"Huh?" Gekko yelped.

"You want this cookie, kitty boy?" Pepper teased. Catboy eagerly nodded.

"Then attack these heroes!" Pepper ordered. Catboy obeyed and pounced at Owlette, who dodged and gasped.

"No! Catboy!" Gekko yelled. "Stop!"

Catboy hissed and looked in his direction. "Anything for PEPPER TO GIVE ME MORE COOKIES!"

"Ahhh!" Gekko screamed as Catboy hit him with his Power Furballs and tripped him up.

"Gekko!" Owlette yelped, running to help her green hero friend.

"GIVE ME MORE COOKIES," Catboy begged Pepper, approaching her and holding his hands out as she still held up the cookie. She chuckled evilly and dropped it in his hands. He ate the entire thing, and crumbs peppered his cheeks. He jumped up and down and eyed Pepper greedily.

"More cookies, please, Pepper?" the blue cat begged, cute kitty cat eyes on his face.

"Of course," Pepper said sweetly, dropping another cookie from her pocket in Catboy's hand. He ate that cookie up, too.

"Release our friend from the trance you put him in! Right now, or else!" Owlette warned Pepper.

"Never! Get lost!" Pepper hissed in reply. "Catboy is mine now!"

Owlette growled and flew into the air. "Owl Wing Wind!" The owl heroine blew Pepper off her feet, making her drop her wooden spoon and kick down her cauldron, leading to a huge food spill. Some landed onto Gekko's foot. Luckily, the liquid was warm. Catboy was just spinning around awkwardly, still entranced by the thought of cookies.

"This soup smells so good. I wanna taste it so bad," Gekko said, dipping a finger in the spilled soup.

"Gekko, no! That's gross!" Owlette scolded. Gekko sighed.

"Okay, fine," he said, getting up. "How do we stop Pepper Porkchop?"

"It's Pepper Paprika, you loopy lizard kid!" Pepper hissed, getting up as well. She gasped when she saw the spill of soup on the floor.

"No! All my hard work...SPILLED!" Pepper roared.

"Ha! Looks like you can't cause trouble anymore, Pepper Paprika," Owlette sneered.

The heroes then heard a sudden groan. It came from Catboy. He was rubbing his head.

"Ugh...I feel so much better, now that I'm not only thinking about cookies anymore," he thought out loud.

"Catboy, are you okay?" Owlette asked, flying down to her friend.

"I'm fine, but I have a stomach ache. Wait, who's that...and what's this mess doing here?" Catboy wanted to know.

"We'll tell you later," Owlette answered. "Now let's go. You, Pepper Paprika, can clean up the mess you made."

As the PJ Masks left, Pepper Paprika looked at her soup spillage.

She growled. "This isn't over, Owlette...you're gonna pay for tripping me up and ruining my hard work."

More to come! Pepper Paprika is gonna get revenge on Owlette for spilling her soup. Tune in next episode! See ya!
