A/N: This came to me this morning after watching 'The Longest Day' and 'Anti-Prom.' The focus of this story starts after 'The Longest Day.'

'I feel sorry for you. Because when all this is over, you're really gonna need your friends, and you're not gonna have any. You're not gonna have a single one.'
Dawson's words bit into him. Of course everyone would side with Dawson. He won the girl and their friends. What did he have? A worthless boat with a meaningless name, no friends, and a love that broke his heart for their friend.
'It's over, isn't it?'
'It has to be.' Her soft words shattered his heart and soul.
"You sure your dads ok with this?" Pacey asked dejectedly, shoving more of his stuff in the military sack he found in their pile of luggage.
"Yeah, he's fine with it…I'm just sorry it didn't work out with Joey."
"Me too." Pacey sighed bitterly, shoving his schoolbooks in his backpack. "But Dawson Leery gets his way…he always gets his way."
Shaking his head, Will sat down on Pacey's bed. "What did Doug say?"
Pacey had stopped by Doug's to grab the few items he had there. Doug of course wouldn't let him leave until he told him what was going on, his older brother knew he wouldn't willingly go back home.
"He said I was acting childish, but he wouldn't tell anyone who didn't already know…with the exception of Gretchen." Coming across the Leery Fresh Fish flag he had for the regatta, Pacey sighed again handing the fabric to his friend. "Would you do me a favor and return that to Gail with my apologies."
"Yeah, I can."
Will helped load the few bags Pacey had in the Wagoneer, a somber look on his face. "I'll see you in a few days."
Pacey nodded clapping his friend's shoulder in appreciation. "Thanks man. I'll call Doug's when I get to your house."
Will licked his lips nodding. Watching Pacey get in the Jeep and drive off he just hoped this would help his friend.
