Pulling into the driveway of Will Krudski's house in Raleigh North Carolina, Pacey exhaled loudly. He never thought he'd have to go so far, both literally and figuratively. But unlike Dawson he wasn't going to force ultimatums on that beautiful creature because he couldn't handle the outcome.

Although he knew to some it'd look like he'd run away but for him it was self-preservation. His heart was broken, deeper than when he broke up with Andie. Probably because Joey had his heart before Andie did…maybe even before Tamara, but it didn't matter Dawson had Joey's heart and he couldn't stand on the sidelines to watch it unfold.

Shaking off his funk Pacey pulled out the military sack and headed for the front door. Stepping up to the door he took a breath before knocking.

The door opened a minute later, revealing a man a few years older than his father and reminded him of an older Mitch Leery. "Hi Mr. Krudski."

"Hello Pacey." Anthony Krudski smiled, stepping back and nodding into the house. "Come on in."

"Thanks…thanks for this." Pacey stumbled nervously, his eyes dropping to the floor.

"It's no problem." Anthony grinned, pulling him toward the kitchen. "Are you hungry?"

"I could eat." The pair sat down, eating a meal of fried cod, mashed potatoes, and green beans, reminiscing of years past.

They ended the night with Mr. Krudski showing Pacey his basement bedroom, the bare walls adding to his sadness.

He spent the next few days on the back porch weeding through the schoolwork he had, getting it ready to give to Doug in the next two days. Doug had agreed to talk to the school, grabbing his incompleted work for Pacey to do while delivering the completed work to school every week, that way Pacey could finish his Junior year at Capeside High and it wouldn't cause issues with the school or his father.

Closing his history book, Pacey shook his head, his work was done, and it felt surreal, he hated schoolwork, he hated school, but found the work wasn't as hard as he thought.

Without work he had little to do but dwell on what was in Capeside, the pain but also the beautiful love he left behind.

Letting out a sigh he pulled out a blank sheet of paper, words to his friends…the love of his life spilling out.

Jo,

I'm sorry for leaving the way I did, but…

Read and review…Don't kill me the next chapter will have the completed letter.

A/N: This story came from Pacey's reaction at the very end of 'The Longest Day.' To me it felt like the last real emotions Pacey displayed was in 'The Longest Day' and he didn't actually show anymore until 'True Love.' But of course with how much pain it seems like he had to deal with he probably grew into hiding it, but of course these are just my thoughts, I could be wrong but when I watch scenes I pay attention to emotion, I feel it.
