Also, am updating it onto wattpad. Refined and foxed in a lot of problem areas. Plan to upload the entire story from the beginning to end as one story instead of multiples. Lightning ran to his garage after the race and asked the team, "Do you guys got this?" Mack walked up and answered, "Yeah, go on. We can clean up." Lightning nodded and took off. Grabbing out his phone to call for a cab when Bobby and Jesse ran up. "Light!" Called Bobby. Lightning looked at his friend and asked, "Have you heard anything?" "No. We called Meg, but she won't answer." Bobby explained. Jesse then added, "Neither will Strip." Lightning shook his head. Everything slowed down for a moment. What-ifs were running circles in Lightning's mind. What if Cal was gone.

What if he were already gone and the family wasn't answering because they were grieving!? Then the speakers of the stadium rang a moment as they were adjusted. "Ahem. Is this on?" The President's voice. "To all still here, I have news about Cal Weathers from the family." This caught not only Lightning and the Swifts' attention but everyone that was still at the track! "Cal is in surgery. His injuries are severe, but he is expected to make recovery. The family thanks all and ask to keep Cal in your prayers. That is all." The speakers were shut off with a loud clicking sound. Lightning's brows lowered. The President didn't care. Not really. He only cared that Cal's name made his money. Bobby spoke, "I'm going to go see Cal myself."

Jesse grabbed Bobby's arm and persuaded, "The family has been through a lot tonight. Not to mention, Cal is in surgery. We can go see him tomorrow." Bobby sighed, but nodded and agreed with his wife. Lightning thought a moment before saying, "I'll see you two there tomorrow. I think I'm going to get to the motel and call Sally. She's probably wanting to know what's happening." Jesse placed a hand on Lightning's arm and asked, "Are you okay?"

Lightning nodded, "Yeah, I'm fine. See you guys." Bobby replied, "See ya, McQueen." Lightning headed to the motel. He walked through the hall to his room. He walked by Mater's room and stopped as he heard.. Moaning.. Lightning glanced at the door. How? How was Holly and.. Mater? So gross. It made him shiver with disgust. Lightning walked into his room and pulled out his phone. 13 missed calls from Sally. "Shit." He growled to himself then called her back quickly as he undresses out of the smelly suit. Shoes, socks.

Lightning! How is Cal!? How is Meg!?

"I don't really know. Meg isn't answering anyone." As he loosened the collar and sleeves.

You are okay, right?

"Yeah, I wasn't even near the accident."

No, I mean... Are you okay?

"..."

Cal was your friend. I know you were close with him. And I know accidents are a part of racing, but being that close to it, to home.. To the people you love. Lightning, are you okay?"

"I'm okay."

Okay.. I hate racing..

"Sal.."

No. And you can't.. I don't hate racing. I hate that this is a part of it.

"I know."

Don't ever crash.. Please..

"I won't. I'm better than that. Cal made a mistake today.."

A mistake that cost him!

"I won't. I'm smarter than that."

It's not about being smarter! What did he do exactly?

"He pulled back onto the track without looking. He cut in front of another driver."

How is the other driver?

"He's fine. Car is totaled, but he's fine."

I'll come down. I should come down and be there for Meg.. Oh my gosh.. Megen must be a mess. They were trying to have a family and then this happens to them..

"..."

I don't want to wait.

"Sal... We.. I don't want to have a baby with you right now.. Just not yet."

No, not that. I don't want to wait to get married. I don't want to wait for the off-season. I want to get married sooner. When you said to. That two-week break in the season before the cup. I don't want to wait any longer than that.

"Okay. Okay, great. Good."

... I'll get a flight down tomorrow. I'll text you the details. Think you can pick me up?

"Of course. See you tomorrow, Sal."

Okay. Night, Lightning. Love you.

"Love you tom Sally. Goodnight." Lightning hung up and tossed the phone down onto the bed. Sighing. This was so bad. All Lightning could do was worry about Cal...

The following morning, Lightning went to the hospital where Cal was. He was met by journalists and flashing cameras as he walked in. Bobby waiting for him. Lightning walked up and asked, "How is he?" Bobby shook his head, answering, "It's not good, man." Bobby then lead Lightning to Cal's room. Lightning peeked in to see Meg at the foot of the bed. Her head laying at Cal's feet. Cal was out. Looked to be asleep. "Is he?..." Lightning began. Bobby sighed, "He's been out. Hasn't woke up." Lightning walked in quietly.

Megen looked up at him and sniffled. "He'll.." Lightning started but stopped. Don't make promises you can't keep, and don't give her hopes. He sighed. Meg wiped her eyes and said, "He'll be okay. I know he'll wake up. The doctors think he will too.. Just.. When?" She shrugged. Lightning nodded. He walked up closer to Meg and knelt. "You know Sally and I will be here for you." "Is she here?" Meg asked. Lightning shook his head, "Not yet. I'll be picking her up from the airport in a few hours. I just didn't want to wait to see him." Meg nodded then hugged Lightning. Falling into his arms and crying. Lightning hesitated, but wrapped his arms around Meg and held her. Letting her cry into his arms.

"You're family, Light. You and Bobby.. You may not be blood, but you are our family to.. Cal is going to need you guys when he wakes up." Bobby stepped into the room and assured Meg that they'd be here for Cal. Lightning adding, "Any day, time, or place." "And for you to," Jesse added as she walked into the room holding two cups of coffee. She handed one to Bobby. Meg just cried into Lightning's arms. Strip and Linda walked in. Linda sighed and said, "It's good to see you, Lightnin." Strip smiled a little and asked, "You a praying man, Lightnin?" Lightning shook his head, answering, "Not really, Sir.." Strip looked at Bobby who said, "My Mom was. Hardcore prayer-er. If that's a thing." Linda snickered and said, "Oh, it's a thing."

Strip and Linda walked up to Cal's bedside. Strip placed a hand on his nephew's arm then asked, "Will you all join as I pray over him?" Meg pulled from Lighting and stood up next to her husband. Lightning stood up and put his hands in his pockets, but took his place next to Megen. Bobby and Jesse walked up to the end of the bed. Holding onto each other as Strip cleared his throat and began to pray.

"Ahem. Lord, we pray that.. That you lift all our worries. Clear our minds and hearts.. Give us strength. Give Megen and our family courage through this. Give.. Give hope to those close to Cal. Bless the hands that heal him here and work hard to help our boy recover. Give comfort to his and our pain, Lord. Calm all our fears and remind us that it's your plan here. Surround us with peace... Heal our boy.. Please.. Give him back to us.. Amen.." Strip teared up and began to cry. Seeing Strip tear up like that was what made this so much worse and real. Lightning stared a moment. It was time he accepted that these things can happen. Do happen and the chances of him getting into an accident were anything but slim. He needed to make sure Sally didn't have to deal with anything in the case something like this happened.

A knock on the door and a doctor walked in. "Hello.. Hi.. I was just coming to check on Cal.." Linda and Strip moved out of the way to let the man do his job. Everyone watched as the man did a few checks. On Cal and the monitor. Lightning asked, "How is he doing?" The doctor sighed and explained, "It's a rough recovery. I know he can, but.. He's going to need people by his side. We are looking at months of therapy, medications, emotional support. He will have to work to race again." Meg snarked, "If he races again.." As if she blamed racing for this. Lightning sighed with a frown. Linda then asked, "When will he wake up, Doctor?"

The man frowned and thought a moment before answering, "It's hard to say. He's in a comatose state because his body and brain is healing. Could be a day or two, could be a week.." "A week!?" Jesse gasped. Meg broke down. Crying and falling into the arms closest to her. Lightning. Lightning let her. Holding her as she cried against him. The doctor nodded and continued, "I'm sorry that I can't give you more reassurance. He will be okay. Just.. He's going to need support and a lot of time." Everyone understood. And Cal had a hell of an army behind him. He had all the support he would need through this...

The next day, Lightning and Sally made their way to the hospital. Cameras flashed as they walked in. A few journalists tried stopping the couple and asked about Cal's condition, but Sally and Lightning both ignored them. The couple made their way to Cal's room. The couple peeked into the small room to see Cal in bed and Meg sitting at the end of the bed in a chair. Staring at her husband. Sally and Lightning glanced at each other. "I don't think he's woken up at all.." Whispered Lightning. Sally sighed. Her eyes teared up as she stared back at Megen.

She just couldn't imagine what Meg must be going through right now. Sally grabbed Lightning's hand firmly. Holding onto it tightly because she was afraid. Afraid this will happen to him one day. Lightning looked at his girl and smiled, assuring quietly that "I won't wreck like that. I'm better than that." Sally just nodded. Sniffling quietly. Not quite enough though. Meg heard and looked over. She wiped her eyes and said, "Come in guys."

Sally and Lightning walked in and up to the bed. Lightning asking, "How is he?" Meg sniffled, "No change." Sally quickly apologized. "Meg, I am so sorry you have to go through this." Megen nodded, sniffling again. "You know.." She began. "In the conferences and.. Get togethers and some interviews.. They always warn you that accidents can happen.. To prepare yourself for it.. Just tell yourself it's part of it, and it won't be as hard.. But.. You just don't expect it. I wasn't ready for it... I never thought this bad of one would happen. I never thought it would be Cal's fault." She began to cry.

Sally and Lightning glanced at each other then Sally rushed to her friend's side. Meg cried into Sally's arms. Lightning sighed and stared at Cal. Lightning had enough of overthinking. What would happen to everything he had built if something happened to him? If something happened to him before he and Sally got married. He glanced at Sally.

Holding Meg and he couldn't live with that what if anymore. "I'll be right back." He announced before leaving the room. Lightning made his way to the private waiting rooms where he sat down and pulled out his phone. He stared at the black screen for a moment. Usually, and you would think that he would give Sally power over anything, but he didn't want her to be burdened with that. So he called the only other person he would trust with such decisions, and that he trusted could make any decisions in times like this. The phone rang a few times before Lightning spoke into the device, "Hey... I need you to listen and do me a favor.. If anything should happen... To me. Like Robert.. No, just-just listen. If anything should.. Make sure Sally gets everything. Whether we're married or not. Take care of the racing equipment. Get rid of it all. Yeah.. And if I wind up in the hospital.. If I wind up a vegetable... Let me go. I don't want Sally to have to deal with that choice.. Promise me you'll do it for her. She'll hate you, I know, but.. You two aren't that close anyway.. I'll have a lawyer write it up and send it to you. Yes, I'm sure. Promise me, please.. Please... ... Thank you... Yeah, I'm okay. Okay.. Thank you. I gotta-I better go.. Bye.."

Lightning hung up with tears in his eyes. The very thought hurt like hell. Suddenly Bobby walked in. He and Lightning stared at each other a moment before Bobby asked, "When did you get here?" Lightning shrugged, "Not long ago.. Have you seen Cal yet?" he asked. Bobby sat down next to Lightning before answering, "No, not yet." "Sally's there now with Meg." "I'll let Jesse know. She'll want to come down then." "I know Cal has wrecked before, but.. Not like this.. He was so careless.." Lightning whimpered. Bobby sighed, replying, "Yeah, it's not like him.." "He's going to want to race again. Right?" "Of course! This is Cal Weathers we are talking about!" Bobby exclaimed loudly! Lightning frowned. He was scared for the worst.

Bobby began to chuckle and said, "We've had some real good times racing together." Lightning only nodded in agreement. Bobby snickered and continued, "Remember that time we tried pranking Cal by painting all his rims red." Lightning smiled a little and added, "Or the time we surprised him with the rockets." "Scared the hell out of him." Laughed Bobby. Lightning chuckled a little. Bobby sighed, "We're getting older man.." "Yeah, I know." "We're not invincible like we pretend.." "I know.." Lightning muttered. It fell silent for a moment.

But it was true, and this accident was a reminder. Mistakes happen and these guys weren't getting any younger. Bobby reached in his pocket and pulled out some smokes. Lightning raised a brow and said, "I don't think you can smoke in here." Bobby didn't care. He went ahead and lit the thing. Inhaling, then blowing smoke up into the air. "You gonna tell?" He asked Lightning rudely. Lightning didn't answer, but he wouldn't and Bobby knew that.

Bobby nudged Lightning and held the cart of cigarettes near him. Lightning hesitated, but he took one out and Bobby handed him the lighter. Lightning lit up the thing and breathed in heavily. Laying his head back and trying to calm down as he smoked in the waiting room. It was quiet for a few minutes before Lightning vented, "My brother died in an accident. This sort of reminds me of it all.. I mean it was way worse than Cal's accident." "What happened exactly?" Asked Bobby.

Lightning shook his head before storytelling, "He just crashed and the cars weren't as safe back then. It caught on fire and he was trapped in there. I'll never forget the screams of my Mother. Watching Robert's car burn... He survived it long enough to get to the hospital, but the burns were so severe.. They induced him into a coma for pain and he just.. He didn't make it. They told us he died peacefully, but what's peaceful about that?" He asked. "He was alive for the hit and the fire... And I know Cal didn't burn and he's going to live, but.. Well, it's like you said... We're not invincible, Bobby..." Bobby frowned.

Lightning snickered, "Racing helped me feel close to him again.. Part of me started racing to finish what my brother started.." Bobby smirked back, saying, "My uncle helped raise me. Not like Strip did with Cal, but.. I grew up poor, and.. I would often go over to his house while my Mom was working two shifts. He had this crown vic and made me help him repair it all the time. I hated it. I absolutely hated that car and my Uncle for making me help. I just wanted to go play with my friends, but he told me he wouldn't have me hanging out with trouble makers and drug users, so.. I worked on that dam car. But then he died. He was shot. I was never close to him really, so I wasn't scared or nothin, but.. After school, I'd run to his house and work on that car. Every dam day until one day it just wasn't there anymore. My aunt sold it. eight hundred bucks. I worked my ass off for months on that thing and never made a penny. But.. I decided that I missed it. Working on that thing.. He taught me a lot, and I just never knew it.. I started doing side jobs. Working on people's cars in the neighborhood. Made enough money to get my Mom out of her second shift nights. I just.. I was good with cars. I think in a way, my Uncle put me on the path I'm on today. Funny I guess. Not like Cal. Just.. born into a legacy."

Lightning snickered, "Cal is such a privileged dork." "No joke. He's prissy too." "I swear he's never touched dirt." "You imagine Cal camping?" "Never!" Lightning laughed. Bobby laughed and asked, "Remember the time he wore dress shoes to the press interview?" "YES!" "We gave him such a hard time over that." "He deserved it. Who wears shoes like that to the race track?" "Not me!" Exclaimed Bobby! Lightning sighed. The two missed their friend. Hated that this was happening. Bobby's eyes teared up. Lightning noticed and asked, "Are you crying?" Bobby playfully punched Lightning in the shoulder and snapped, "No! I'm just... Happy." "In a time like this?" Lightning chuckled. Bobby chuckled back, "Okay, I'm worried. I'm scared.." Bobby admitted. His playful smile faded. Lightning sighed and leaned in his chair. "Me too..." he muttered.

Sally walked in suddenly and asked, "What the hell, Stickers? I've been calling!" Lightning sat up quickly. Sally then noticed the cigarettes and the smell and asked, "Are you two smoking? In the waiting room?" Bobby's eyes widened as he answered, "I choose not to answer that without my lawyer present." Lightning glared at Bobby for that. Sally rolled her eyes and stomped over, snatching the cigarette from Lightning and tossing it into the nearest trash can. "You don't smoke Lightning." She snipped. Bobby snickered and muttered, "You obviously don't know Lightning." Lightning's brows lowered more as he glared at Bobby. Sally then announced, "Cal is awake." Bobby and Lightning both stood up quickly!...

The three rushed back into Cal's room where Meg was standing next to her husband. cal was sitting up in the bed, awake! Lightning rushed in and asked, "Cal! How are you feeling?" Cal shook his head and admitted, "I.. I don't remember anything. What happened?" Bobby answered with, "You crashed, man! Into another car.." "Technically, another car crashed into you." Lightning corrected. Cal had to take that in. He shook his head then looked to Meg and asked, "Are you okay?" Meg giggled, answering, "I'm okay now that you are okay." She smiled, wiping tears from her eyes.

Cal looked at his friends and asked, "How long was I out?" Bobby answered, "Like a day." Then the doctor walked in. "Hello, hello. I hear we have woken up finally." As he walked up to Cal. Quickly shining a light into the racer's eyes. Cal squinted and gently pushed the Doctor's hand away. The man pointed to Megen and asked, "Do you know who she is? Where you are?" Cal answered easily, "Yeah, that's Megen and I'm in the hospital." "Great! Do you know these people?" Looking towards the fellow racers and Sally. Cal snickered and answered, "Yeah, those two are my friends. That's B... B.." He paused as if he were having trouble.

Everyone became a little worried. Bobby pointed to himself and announced, "Bobby. I'm Bobby." The doctor motioned for everyone to stop and be quiet and asked, "No, no, hold on. Cal, can you tell me his name?" as he pointed to Lightning. "No one else, just you. Can you tell me his name?" He asked clearly. Cal stared at Lightning a moment before answering, "Yeah, that's... Mmm.. EEhhh.. FFFmmmm.." "It's okay, take your time." The doctor assured. Cal began to breathe rapidly as he panicked. He looked to Megen and asked, "What happened? I don't remember anything." Meg stared with confusion as she answered, "You were in.. An accident.."

The doctor then asked again, "Can you tell me his name?" Pointing to Lightning. Cal looked over at his friend before opening his mouth and answering, "FFffff... LLLLLoooommm.. I... I know him. I've raced with him for years. I know his name! I just can't say-can't say it!.. He's.. He's... MMMaaccc.. Mmmel.. What's wrong with me?" He asked nervously to the doctor. The man sighed before saying, "Well, I'll need to run a few test. It's common for the memory to not, um.. come back completely.. I want to give you time to heal. It'll come, don't rush it." Cal shook his head, his voice shaking with fear as he spoke, "Don't rush it? I don't have time.. I.. You have to fix me now.. I.. I..."

He paused then looked at Megen and asked, "What happened? Why am I in the hospital?" Megen looked at the doctor with such fear. The doctor nodded and said, "I'll be right back." Then left the room. Everyone was afraid, but no one was more afraid than Cal. He was just confused and couldn't understand what was happening to him right now. "I know his name!" Cal yelled! "I know his name!" The nurse walked in and asked everyone who wasn't family to leave, but Meg stopped everyone and said, "They're all family. They are family." The nurse seemed annoyed. Rolling her eyes, but she left. Leaving them all be. Cal stared aimlessly as he was trying to think. Think about what the hell happened out there? Why was he here? Why couldn't he say his friend's names? What was wrong with him?...

The Swifts, Sally, and Lightning sat in the private waiting room. Giving the doctor, nurses, and the Weathers some time alone. Cal was in bad shape, but his memory was worse. Jesse used a tissue to wipe her eyes. Sally leaned on Lightning's shoulder as they all sat in worry. Lightning breathed in then out slowly. Just take a deep breath. Sally nestled her head against his arm and admitted, "I am so afraid of this happening to you one day..." "That's not going to happen." assured Lightning, but Sally replied, "You can't promise that." "I can." "No, you can't.. I wish you could.." Sally mumbled.

Jesse then butted in with, "Same.. I'm worried. You are always so fearless and reckless, Bobby.. I don't know what I would do if you ever crashed." Bobby shook his head and assured his wife, "I'm not going to. I'm a highly skilled racer." Jesse quickly argued, "So was Cal!" Everyone stared at Jesse for a moment. Sally then added, "She's right. Cal was the most trained out of all of you. He was a thoroughbred.. And he crashed." Bobby and Lightning glanced at each other. A little bit hurt that their women had little faith in them, but then again, they knew that the girls were just scared. Bobby assured them that, "It's fine. We're fine. Cal second-guesses his moves. It's.. Partly why we are a little better."

Lightning then added, "Cal may be the most trained, but he wasn't trained by the best. I'm fine-we're fine. Bobby and I are okay and we're not going to crash like this." But of course, that was no promise and there was no guarantee. Megen walked in. She caught everyone's attention. Sally was first to ask, "How is he?" Strip and Linda walked in behind Meg. Meg threw up her arms as she proclaimed, "I give up!" Her eyes filled with tears. "He's stuck in a loop!" She plopped down into a chair.

Linda tried not to cry, bit broke into her husband's arms. Bobby sighed with a frown. Lightning just wouldn't accept this though. "There has to be something we can do?" He argued. Meg shook her head replying, "If there is, I don't know what it is. I just-I can't." Strip then said, "Cal just needs a push. Something to bring him back." "Like a memory?" Asked Sally. Strip just shrugged. Everyone was at a loss. Wishing they could just magically heal their friend. Meg then continued, "And that's not even the worst of it. Insurance isn't covering everything." "What?" Asked Jesse.

Meg shook her head then explained, "The policy Cal signed only covers ten percent of his medical, and none of the other driver that he pulled in front of. We have to pay for this other driver's fucking therapy and so called injuries. I mean we have the money, but.. It's just more crap to deal with." Strip then assured Megen that he would help with everything. But it wasn't the money or anything, but the fact that insurance was giving her a hard time about coverage all at the same time as this stress was going on...

Lightning opened the door to the motel. Sally walked in first, he followed. Closing the door behind him and flipping on the lights. Sally sighed as she stared at the room. It wasn't fancy like usual. Just a simple and quick motel for a night or two so that they could be here for Megen and Cal. Sally walked over to the couch and sat down.

Tired and mentally, emotionally exhausted. Lightning walked over and asked, "Can I get you a drink?" Sally looked up at him before answering, "Yes, please.. Just water will be fine." Lightning kissed her on the top of her head then walked over to the fridge and grabbed out a complimentary bottle of water. He sat next to his fiance', handing her the water. "Thanks.." She muttered.

Lightning lay down on the couch and sighed. "This is so bad.." He said. Sally set down her bottle on the table in front of the couch before pulling Lightning's legs over her lap and gently rubbing or petting his shin up and down. "It is... I can't believe how bad it is.. Cal can't remember your name.." "He knows who I am though." Lightning reminded. Sally looked at Lightning with a frown. Lightning sat up and placed the palm of his right hand over the side of Sally's face. "Hey.." He began, "We are safe. I'm safe. I won't ever do that to you." He assured.

Sally smiled a little, but again, that was no promise or guarantee. "I'm going to shower." She announced before pushing his legs down then walking away. Lightning sighed. This got him thinking. The insurance. He didn't even think about that. What was his plan's coverage anyway? It had been so long since he had looked. Lightning heard the shower startup, so he took the chance to pull up the policy on his phone.

The current plan coverage range included:

Medical- up to 20%

Other person(s) medical- up to 60%

He decided that needed to change. Not for him, but for Sally's sake.

New plan coverage range:

Medical- up to 60%

Other person(s)- up to 60%

The racers all lined up. In front were Francesco Bernoulli and Lightning McQueen. The Queen would send them off. Francesco glanced over at the 95 car's cockpit. Lightning could feel Francesco's eyes. He glanced back at the formula one car. The two rivals stared a moment at each other. Making a great photo for the reporters and a few fans to catch. Lightning revved the Bolt's engine. Gripping the wheel tightly, breathing steadily. He looked ahead at the road. Waiting for the green. Francesco looked ahead. Deep breaths.

One winner here today and it was going to be Francesco. It was going to be Lightning McQueen. The Queen dropped the flag as she stood by her nephew and Miles Axelrod, and the cars sped off, beginning the final race of the World Grand Prix! The engined roared as the drivers pushed to get into a formation. To pass one another when they had the chance. Francesco faked left then passed Lightning like a torpedo on a straightway. Zooming by loudly in the high pitch F1. Lightning shifted hard and the chase began! The cars drove hard that first lap, Lightning still chasing down Francesco. As expected, his emotions were messing with his ability to concentrate and affecting his driving. Francesco continued to hold the lead into the next lap when a turn made him hit the brakes. F1 cars do not take the best turns.

Compared to Bolt, which just slid in a drift around Francesco's car like it was nothing! Lightning whipped his read around the nose of Francesco's missing the nose of the F1 by a hair it seemed! Shifting and gunning it ahead of Francesco! This angered the Italian and he began to chase Lightning now. Lightning gained a good half mile ahead of Francesco, keeping his lead as Francesco attempted to draft behind Lightning's car to catch up easier.

Lightning continued to gain track between him and Francesco! The fans cheered loudly for the American! Lightning noticed an alarm on the Bolt. A slight temperature change. Which happened in racing when racing hard and for a long period. Lightning glanced behind to not even see Francesco at the moment. He was in a huge lead. Just as Lightning was about to warn his team about the overheating race car, BOOM!

BOOM!

The ground shook from the explosion! The red 95 race car exploded into flames! Metal shards shooting out everywhere! Francesco lost control of his car, sliding him into a wall on the left, SMASH! smoke rolled into the sky above the racecars! People began screaming and gasping and panicking! Running through the stands with fear! The fire over Lightning's car was so loud! Crackling and burning up black smoke into the air! Sally stared at the screen and she felt faint. Her entire world was destroyed before her. "L-L.. Lightning.." She barely murmured in her disbelief. Flo grabbed onto Sally! Tightening her arms around her as medical vehicles rushed out onto the track.

BOOM!

A second explosion came from the 95 car. Fuel fed the fire! "LIGHTNING!" Sally screamed as the realization of what had just happened began to set in! Flo only held onto Sally tighter! The team watched as firefighters began putting out the flames, but.. Even though no one was announcing it yet.. There was no way that Lightning McQueen had survived this.

"Lightning!" Sally screamed as she sat up in the bed! She began to cry! Hard, painfully loud, waling away! It woke Lightning abruptly. He sat up and looked at Sally, "What's wrong?! I'm right here!" He announced with fear! Sally grabbed onto him! Wrapping her arms around him! Never letting go! "Sal, what's wrong?!" He asked again, but she only cried louder. She cried in pain! Lightning held her in his arms and let her cry. She tried to tell him about her nightmare, but all that came out was whimpering uncommunicative cries. So Lightning just held her in his arms. Pulling her close to his body and telling her, "I'm here.. I'm here, Baby.. Everything's okay.. Everything's fine. I'm here.."...
