4. Slow burn Harmony (ONE-SHOT)
When they got to the bookshop, Flourish and Blotts, Harry bumped into a girl with bushy hair and a sweet, if toothy, smile. She was carrying so many books she probably hadn't even seen him.
He helped her carry them to the register, and on an impulse, paid for them before she could protest.
Later, at Fortescue's ice cream parlour, Harry whispered to the girl, who turned out to be a Muggleborn named Hermione, that he had been reading some of his cousin Dudley's magazines and learned about something called "sex." She countered that the goblins at Gringotts had given her literature about Wizarding culture, including something called a "betrothal."
Several of the girls on the Hogwarts Express commented that Hermione was "glowing." Then they noticed the ring on her finger. Part of the reason, she imagined, was that she was so happy to be engaged to her charming boyfriend. Another reason for the "glow" was, undoubtedly, that she was carrying his twins. She was looking forward to trying a few things Harry had suggested, before morning sickness set in. Her schooling may suffer for a bit, but then again, the first year didn't really matter, and most used it as a chance to socialize anyway.
Yes, Hermione Granger and Harry Potter were a happy couple, and not shy about showing it. He'd entirely forgotten he'd ever had his famous scar. All was well.
Chapter End Notes
For those of you for whom this is just plain too slow, the classic novella Happy birthday harry by Pug123456789101140701099 (AO3: 40701099 ) is available to remind you of the joys of Rapid Harmony, and I highly recommend it.
