Here you go! I even included a cameo from another monster for some extra fun!

Shino ushered the civilians toward the edge of town. "Come on! This way! Hurry!" Nearby, Tiger was helping direct a couple while Pixie Bob used her earth beasts to carry civilians to safety. Even Ragdoll was helping evacuations.

For the last several days, sasquatch monsters like the one from before had torn through the mountains, plowing through everything in their way. If that wasn't bad enough, this time they were joined by a giant quadrupedal reptile. Pixie tried using her earth beasts to hold the line, but they were each destroyed in one blow. This was the AMF's fight now.

Shino didn't like the AMF. They were arrogant, confrontational, and made every interaction as unpleasant as possible. However, they had numbers and firepower. The Pussycats didn't. So, when they rolled their weapons into town, Shino felt relieved.

The AMF weapons fired a combination of lasers and lightning bolts at the monsters. The sasquatches and reptile shrieked in pain, sending shivers up Shino's spine. Several ducked behind buildings to hide. The AMF tried to keep them pinned, but there were too many. Soon, they'd be overrun.

A nearby soldier spoke into his radio. "Bring in the Alpha."

Alpha?

On cue, several helicopters came carrying a massive metal box. Upon being set down, the box opened, revealing a familiar machine.

"A Zero Pointer?"

The AMF soldier laughed. "Please. This is nothing like that garbage you throw at schoolchildren or those knockoffs the army uses. This is the real deal. We may only have two, but each is worth an army."

Shino bit back a retort as the robot roll toward the enemies. Better wait and see what it-

The Zero Pointer blasted itself forward using several thrusters on its back.

Ok, the UA ones can't do that.

The robot grabbed one of the sasquatches into a headlock and punched it in the face. Another sasquatch charged from behind, but robot swung around and threw its captive into it.

The two sasquatches fell. They got to their feet but the robot charged and punched one in the face, sending it to the ground. Its companion lunged at the robot. They grappled until the Zero Pointer unleashed a torrent of electricity from its hull, making the sasquatch screech.

The other sasquatch got up. The robot threw the one it had electrocuted to the ground, then revealed a cannon in its arm, firing a blue laser.

The sasquatch staggered back from the robot's onslaught. Just when it seemed the robot would win, the reptile monster pounced. The monster clawed and bit at the robot's face as the machine tried to shock it. The robot threw the monster off, sending it rolling towards the edge of a cliff.

An attack helicopter fired at the lizard. It staggered to the edge of the cliff, then stood on its hind legs, revealing a membrane of skin between its limbs. The monster leaped off, gliding away like a giant flying squirrel.

The AMF soldier growled. "Shit. Varan got away."

The AMF focused back on the sasquatches as they fought the robot. Shino noticed some stragglers nearby, and ran to help them.

After his first few blasts backfired, Kuroki expected Godzilla to dial back the intensity, minimizing damage to himself. Instead, he dialed it up, firing powerful blast after powerful blast into the Fire Mirror with no regard for how many they sent back.

The Super X-2 pursued Godzilla into veritable forest of buildings. It reflected yet another blast at Godzilla. Godzilla ducked behind a building, letting it take the brunt of the blast. He sent more blasts into the Super X-2, which rebounded them, shredding the building until it collapsed. The dust cleared, but Godzilla wasn't there.

Where- Kuroki's eyes widened. "Full reverse! Now!"

"Yes sir!"

They backed away just as Godzilla crashed through a nearby building, fangs bared. The Super X-2 dropped down just as his teeth clamped around where they'd just been. Godzilla's claws lashed out but the Super X-2 banked sideways and turned. Godzilla whirled around and swung his tail, nailing The Super X-2's back corner.

The Super X-2 wobbled in the air as it rushed away, its back to Godzilla. Unfortunately, the Fire Mirror was on the front. Even worse, the street was two narrow to properly evade. It was exposed.

"Take for the nearest turn!" said Kuroki.

The Super X-2 rushed away at full speed, desperately rushing for the first turn. Godzilla fired his atomic breath, hitting the Super X-2's back corner. The machine shook as the beam dug into it. The Super X-2 finally made it around the corner, an ugly burn on its back.

Godzilla roared and chased after it.

Kuroki grimaced. That was too close. He looked at the street in front of them and had an idea.

Godzilla charged around the corner and found himself looking at the Super X-2's exposed back yet again. He fired, but only pierced a wall of glass.

The real Super X-2 came out, Fire Mirror primed. It reflected Godzilla's beam, raking it across his head and chest. Godzilla let out an enraged roar.

Then Super X-2 then fired a small missile into his snout, the perfect insult

Taking the bait, Godzila fired an extra powerful blast of his breath, which the Super X-2 sent it back. Godzilla ducked back behind the corner to avoid his own beam. He came back and fired again, but not at the Super X-2. Instead he hit the behind them and dragged his beam across.

Kuroki's eyes widened. "Hard right!"

The confused pilot obeyed, just as Godzilla's beam did its job, making the building tip. The Super X-2 pulled righward as the building fell toward it, threatening to crush the Super X-2 like its predecessor.

Kuroki held his breath. They had to make it. They had to make it.

The building got closer.

Come on!

The Super X-2 cleared the building just in time! It had made it by the skin of its teeth. Kuroki sighed, then orderd the Super X-2 into a nearby clearing, where it couldn't be cornered again.

Godzilla came out to face it. They soon resumed their old dance, with Godzilla firing beam after beam while they reflected it. He occasionally tried to lure them into areas where the buildings were thicker, but they kept their distance.

As the battle went over, Kuroki felt more and more uneasy. Why was he atatacking them like that when he knew it didn't work?

What was Godzilla getting at?

Kenji marked another spot off on their map. They'd successfully boxed the transmitter to within one ward.

Ochako put a hand to her ear. "This is Uravity. We've narrowed it down to Shibuya! I need Heroes with detection quirks here!"

"What now?" Kenji said.

"Now the Heroes come in. Come on. Let's it down a little more."

She moved to tap him again, but hesitated. She looked at the distant explosions with a tight frown.

"Don't worry," Kenji said. "He's probably fine."

"You don't sound so sure."

"Come on! He's Izuku! If anyone can survive this, it's him."

Ochako sighed. "I guess, you're right. Besides, worrying won't change anything. Either I'll see him again, or learn he's dead."

"Sounds morbid when you put it like that."

She shrugged. "It's how the job works. You never know who'll live and who'll die."

For a moment the two were silent. Then Kenji said, "Let's go."

Ochako nodded and negated Kenji's gravity again, then carried him off.

Sashi shuffled through the refugee camp. What a day. He texted Kaori that he was alright, promising to meet her when he could, then used his elongated fingers put a lollypop into his mouth. He picked the wrong week to-

He bumped into someone. "Oh sorr-Iwao?!"

His old schoolmate turned around. "Sashi! It's been too long!" Most of Iwao's body was covered in gray stone, but his face was exposed like always.

"Yeah. You become a Hero?" Sashi said.

"Yeah. Not highly ranked, but I got the license. Kind of regretting it today."

Sashi nodded. "Yeah It's a real hellhole out there, isn't it? I bet even Midoriya wouldn't want to be a Hero in this."

"You're right. Even for him, this is a lot." A guilty look crossed both their faces.

In Middle School they'd been pretty awful to Midoriya. Not as bad as Bakugo, but still pretty bad. Both regretted it, but really there wasn't much to be done. Midoriya had his own life now, hopefully a decent one.

"What's gonna happen now?" Sashi said.

Iwao shrugged. "Some of the top Heroes might do a raid or something. Also, the AMF's going out again. Their leaders died so one of the fighters got promoted."

Sashi raised an eyebrow. "And he accepted?! What nutjob would-"

"Holy shit! It's him."

They turned. Two AMF soldier stared awestruck toward a man at around Fingers' age walking out of the command tent.

It couldn't be…

One of the soldiers nodded. "Midoriya."

Izuku Midoriya strode unflinchingly through the camp. He was taller, and his face more developed, but there was no mistaking those freckles or those green curls. It was him.

As he got closer, Sashi felt himself shrinking away. Midoriya in Middle School had been an anxious mess, easily frightened, lacking in self confidence (Sashi and Iwao contributed to that). This Midoriya was nothing like that.

His every movement reflected a quiet confidence, while his eyes blazed with cold determination. As Midoriya passed, Sashi noticed a decal on his back that resembled the monster captioned with "Hail to the King."

"So he's leading?" one of the soldiers said. "Isn't he supposed to be insane?"

"Maybe but he's also the best," said the other. "Survived in G-Force for six years while actively trying to fight Godzilla. If anyone can win this, it's him.

Sashi and Iwao exchanged looks, then glanced at Midoriya's back.

The hell had happened to him?!

Kyoka was lifted onto the roof, courtesy of Shoji. While he sprouted ears from his arms to search, she took a look at the surrounding area. She internally groaned. Searching this place would be like looking for a needle in a haystack. Even worse, since the transmitter would be in an area with lighter damage and more people to get in the way.

Kyoka plugged her jacks into the roof. "Heartbeat sonar!" She sent out waves of her heartbeat and listened to the vibrations.

"I've got activity in several buildings." She relayed the location and soon saw Iida running toward one place while Tokoyami flew toward another. Their updates came in. Not the transmitter.

A minute later, Shoji said, "I have suspicious activity, three blocks west!"

The others checked again. Smugglers. Not the crime they were looking for. After thoroughly sweeping the immediate area, Kyoka and Shoji went to another rooftop, passing several other tracking Heroes along the way.

Kyoka quickly found a large group of people in an old warehouse a block away. "Shoji, I think I have something," she said, pointing with her jack. Shoji rushed to the building she'd pointed at, sprouted his eyes and looked. After a few seconds, he came back.

"Refugees."

Damn. "Still, better call it in. They really shouldn't be here right now."

As they did that, the news came in. The search box had narrowed.

Kyoka and Shoji went toward the center of the new box. Kyoka plugged in her jacks yet again and listened. A large gathering underground…just a refugee bunker. A smaller one in an apartment building? More refugees.

Come on! Where is it?!

The area narrowed again. Kyoka and Shoji moved, following the center of the search box. They kept looking, but while they did find some people, even criminals, none were the villains that guarding this "psionic transmitter".

What if no one was guarding it? What if they just turned it on and left?

"Any luck Tentacole?" she said.

He shook his head. "No. Just more of the same. You hear anything, Earphone Jack?"

Kyoka shook her head. She growled as she swept her sonar over the nearby buildings. It had to be here somewhere! Every moment they waited, more innocent people would-

Hold on.

A small group in an old warehouse. It could be refugees, but…no. The warehouse was mostly empty, while the people were gathered in some sort of underground bunker, the kind Villains use. Also, the people weren't moving like frightened survivors hunkering down.

Maybe it was just another criminal group, but…

"Tentacole, I got something."

Shoji carried them to a building near the warehouse Kyoka had singled out. He sprouted an ear and eye, saying, "I see a guard. Villain by the looks of him."

"I see him too," said Iida.

Kyoka used her jacks. At this range, she could detect a lot more details in the bunker. It was fairly typical for Villains. Mostly empty barring some luxuries to pass the time, Support gear, food, etc. However, toward the back was something else. A machine unlike any Kyoka had heard before, with two Villains standing guard.

Kyoka grimaced. "Creati? Do you read?"

"Yes Earphone Jack?"

"We found it. It's in a bunker beneath a warehouse. Villains are guarding it."

Silence.

"Good. Return here. Now we plan our attack."

"Copy."

Kyoka took one last look at the warehouse. We'll be back assholes. And when we do, you are going down…

Their work done, Kenji and Ochako returned to camp. After touching down, they walked inside the command tent. Ogashira looked up from a feed of Godzilla and said, "Good work Saegusa. You might have just saved the city."

"Thanks," Kenji said. He went over to watch the battle, while Ochako looked around the tent.

"Midoriya is with the soldiers at the west end of camp," said Ogashira.

"Thanks! Nice seeing you Kenji!" Ochako said.

Kenji nodded. "Nice seeing you too Ochako."

Ochako turned and hurried out of the tent. Ogashira turned back to the display with a frown.

"Saegusa, why would Godzilla keep firing his atomic breath at high intensity when he knows the Fire Mirror will reflect it? He could be blinded by rage, but he's usually smarter than that…

"The transmitter is making him angrier than normal, but I think you're right. He has some kind of plan." said Kenji. "But I don't know what it could be unless he's trying to-"

He trailed off.

Ogashira slowly looked up, obviously coming to the same conclusion Kenji did.

Godzilla blasted the Super X-2 yet again, and yet again the Super X-2 sent it back. Godzilla staggered into a building, barely managing to not fall. Godzilla leaned, shook himself, then began charging his breath. He lifted his head and glared at the Super X-2.

Godzilla then took a deep breath, then unleashed a supercharged blast. The beam darkened, taking on an almost purple color.

The beam slammed into the Fire Mirror and reflected back. Godzilla was blasted him in the chest. The monster let out a pained roar and fell through a nearby building.

The Super X-2 remained where it was, ready.

Slowly, Godzilla stood up and fired another blast, a regular one. It came back back, hitting Godzilla's side. Godzilla staggered, but did not fall.

Again, Godzilla glared at the Super X-2, but not in fury.

In triumph.

"What do you mean it's gotten weaker?!" Kuroki said.

"I don't know sir!" the technicians said. "Efficiency just dropped like a stone!" He looked at his display. "Structure of the mirror has compromised! How" The technician froze. "Sir…the mirror…"

The man gulped. "It's melting."

Kuroki's eyes widened. He slowly looked back toward Godzilla standing tall in front of the Super X-2, his tail swishing defiantly.

It all made sense. All those futile blasts. He'd been playing a game of chicken.

And they'd just lost.

Super X-2: Ha! Take that Godzilla! I can take your atomic breath!
Godzilla: Oh really? At what setting?
Super X-2: Setting?

Wasn't it fun seeing Varan again?

It was fun getting Izuku's Middle School classmates to react to how he is here. And they haven't even seen what he could REALLY do yet!
