"Do you own anything of this?"
"If I-." *Insert sigh* "If I owned any of this, I wouldn't be sitting here writing fanfic, would I!?"
I don't own any IP featured in this fic.
But you already knew that.
Prologue
[ERROR]
The boy found himself drowning.
What had happened?
What did he do wrong?
Lots of thoughts flew through Hyoudou Issei's head as he collapsed on the ground, a gaping hole now present in his stomach.
"Yuu-ma?"
The raven-haired Fallen Angel stared at his dying form with empty eyes and underlying pity.
"As I said before if you want to blame someone, blame the one who put that Sacred Gear within you."
He couldn't make a sound. Issei couldn't muster the strength to do anything but twitch.
At the same time, his eyes got blurry. The hole in his stomach was lethal. He was sure of that even if the pain was non-existent.
So, why was she approaching?
Amano Yuuma, his girlfriend for one day, kneeled on his growing pool of blood and reached into his recently bought shirt, pulling out a simple flyer he had gotten from another girl before the date started.
"So they were right after all... I'm sorry, but you can't have that," Yumma said softly, a brief spark of light turning the paper to ash. "Goodbye, Ise. If it is of any consolation, I had a good time."
With those words, she started to walk away.
A thousand thoughts flew through the boy's mind. But a single one of them stood out.
"I don't want to die."
Thus, Hyoudou Issei died.
And this time, no crimson devil was there to save him as something latched to his chest and pulled out a red orb from within it.

When Rias Gremory had reached the scene, it was too late.
The body had gone cold, his soul departed this world, and unless she got that one Longinus, there was no way to bring him back to life.
"I told you to recruit him beforehand." Rias' best friend, Sona Sitri, spoke from her seat at the opposite side of the table.
They were in the student council room. Since Sona was the current president, she could use the room to spend some time with her rival during lunchtime instead of going to some corner of Kuoh Academy to wait for their flock of fans to surround them.
"It isn't that easy..." Rias muttered under her breath.
The student council president fixed her glasses. "For someone like Hyoudou? Yes, it was." Before Rias could utter a word, Sona kept going. "He was a massive pervert. You could've just told him about peerages and the chance of being a King himself, and he would've been to your beck and call." Taking a sip from her tea, the Sitri Heiress continued. "You tried a complex solution for a simple problem, you failed, and the result is the result."
Rias did not speak. She couldn't find an argument against her friend's logic. She should've approached the boy. She was well aware of how he was, even if she didn't want to risk the birth of another person like her fiancee. Rias Gremory had every tool to bring that boy into her peerage, and she wasted them.
The result?
The Fallen had seen through her little plot and taken out Issei.
"Is there an update on the Fallen?" Rias asked.
"Yes." Seeing her friend's intentions, Sona moved to her desk and took two papers. "Hyoudou Issei lost control of his Sacred Gear after being rejected by Amano Yuuma." Rias' eyes narrowed. "The Fallen Angel Raynare, after failing to assist Hyoudou Issei in regaining control of his power, was forced to kill him when his power was deemed too dangerous to be let loose." Sona handed the report to Rias, who took it in a flash, eyes darting all over the page as if searching for something. "This is what the Demon Lord Leviathan sent this morning. The Cadre Kokabiel was the one who spoke with her."
"This is..."
Stupid.
Wrong.
A fabrication.
A lie.
Yet what could she do?
Rias doubted Serafall was as stupid to fall on this simple lie. But for the sake of maintaining a semblance of peace, she decided to swallow that pill and sacrifice a human in the hopes of extending this period of tension rather than escalating into a full-blown war to avenge a human who belonged to neither of their peerages.
The Fallen Angels were on Kuoh to investigate strange signals that may or may not be from a Sacred Gear. Both Heiresses were aware of that and had orders to let them researchas they pleased, but things were starting to shift. With Raynare taking the life of Issei, self-defense or not, these visitors were walking on thin ice, and a single misstep from them was enough reason for Leviathan to green-lit an attack on that church.
"This is the state of the board." Sona sighed. "I will have my peerage keep an eye on the Fallen from now on. My familiar warned me about the arrival of a Stray Exorcist today."
"So you also think something is going on in that church?"
"Of course." Sona huffed, almost as if insulted by Rias' doubt. "And whatever storm is gathering there will swallow this academy soon..." To prove her point, she threw another paper on the table.
"A new student? At this time of the year?"
Sona nodded. "While we are barely in April, it is a strange timing."
"He is a college student... huh." Rias took the page and gave it a long look. "Should I ask my father?"
"It would be nice if you could. The last thing we need is to be paranoid about every student that walks through our gates."
"I see..." Skimming through the documents, Rias raised an eyebrow. "William Laplace? Is he related to the mathematician?"
"We don't know." Sona sat down, a bit of disappointment in her voice. "The Laplace surname was something he picked out himself in the orphanage."
"Mm... From Italy to Norway to Russia to France to London. He has been all over the world." The red-head hummed for a moment. "His connection with the supernatural is null aside from the church. But this mentions he is an atheist."
"Still... just in case. Please."
"Okay. I have to go to the Gremory household either way." Rias' features scrunched as if she remembered something vile.
"Riser will be there too?"
A nod was the answer Sona got.
"Good luck with that."
"Thank you." The Gremory heiress drank the last bit of her tea and stood up. "Another thing, Sona. Are you going to recruit this William?"
Sona remained silent, pondering, weighing her options, pros and cons. It was something Sona had always done when the possibility of a new peerage member appeared.
"No." In the end, Sona shook her head. "As you said, Laplace has seemingly no connection with us. Second, I still think something is wrong with him. Third, I have my eye on someone already." Sona raised an eyebrow. "Are you going to take him in?"
"I... might have to. William seems smart, so if I can get my brother's bishop to teach him magic-"
"Magecraft." Sona corrected.
"I might have a decent bishop to fill up my peerage and challenge Riser."
"I see... Then, please, do not play the long game this time." Fixing her glasses, Sona stood up and walked up to Rias. "And I'm not saying it just for Hyoudou. Magecraft takes time to learn. The sooner you get him, the sooner he can start learning."
Rias stood there for a moment but, in the end, nodded. "I will keep your advice in mind."
"And if you need anything..." Sona coughed and turned around. "The Student Council always remains open to fellow students."
Rias laughed as she saw her friend's ears turn red.
"Thank you, Sona." With that, Rias walked out of the room. "See you in class."
"... See you later."

At the same time, at Kuoh's train station, a young man steps out of a train wagon, a suitcase in hand.
"This is Kuoh..." He took a deep breath, his dark eyes darting around. "Never wanted to set a single foot here, honestly."
"You never wanted to set foot in Japan." A woman dressed in white spoke, and even though she appeared from thin air, no one seemed to bat an eye at that interaction.
"Can you blame me? Things tend to happen around the Main Characters. With a sea between us, I feel safe."
"Unfortunately for you, this is your job." Her scarlet eyes narrowed, and the dark-haired teen shrugged in response. "Asses the situation and deal with it accordingly." With those words, the woman disappeared.
"Isn't she supposed to be my assistant?" Sighing, he cracked his neck and peeked at his watch. "Still enough time... Then, let's start."

Author's Note:
So... Yeah. I sat down and wrote this... Or rather, puked this on a document before throwing it into the internet.
This story will be a DxD x Multi crossover, as the tag indicates if you are on a page, and if you are on some other website, I will add tags as the story progresses.
Disclaimers, because they are needed to point at them when some dingus swings by and tells me how much I suck without a reason.
1) English is not my first language, but it is the most universal one, so, since I want more people to read this, I write it in English.
2) This is a hobby, I'm not a professional, nor anywhere near one.
3) I have no Beta readers, so what I write, check, and think, goes.
Anyways, if you came this far, thank you.
I take criticism with open arms and will try to answer questions people leave in the comments unless I have to spoil to answer.
See you next time! Whenever that may be.
