Chapter 62: The Mysterious Mare Do Well

A few days went by after Rainbow Dash got her pet tortoise and Spyro got his pet phoenix, both pleased with having a pet of their own as they had a lot of fun with them, but in her orchard, Spyro was busy bucking some apples off the trees and taking them into the barn, but every now and then an apple would fall out of the basket and he would have to get it, but Scorch would come by and grab the apple, flying towards his owner and putting it in the basket. As he was putting the basket into the barn and came out, only for the fillies to come back home after school, Apple Bloom helping out with the chores while Scootaloo had a club today, which was dedicated to her idle Rainbow Dash. After he was done, he decided to go and enjoy the rest of his day, heading up into the clouds and laying on his back, taking a nap when he heard something zooming around, looking to the sky and saw it was Rainbow Dash flying around, diving into the clouds and doing the backstroke and lied n the clouds.

Deciding to have a little fun, he got off the cloud he was on and dove beneath the one Rainbow Dash was swimming in, slowly moving beneath the cloud until he was right underneath the cyan mare. When she stopped swimming and was just floating on the cloud, he reached up and wrapped his forelegs around her barrel, pulling her down to him as she yelped, but then started to laugh when she realized it was just Spyro.

"You always do that to your mare friends Spyro?" Rainbow Dash asked, hugging him as they lied down together.

"Only when they don't expect it." Spyro replied, placing a kiss on her forehead. "So what are you up to today?"

"Well, I have the rest of the week off and was planning on relaxing throughout the week." Rainbow Dash replied. "And also practice observing my surroundings as well."

"Well I'll tell ya, you still need to work on that." Spyro said, earning a jab to the side.

"Guess I do." She replied.

The two of them remained above the clouds, watching some of the weather Pegasi move them around for a little drizzle later tonight while also cuddling, which Spyro didn't know why she was so willing to cuddle with him as she always said she wasn't the sappy type, but knew she was just as sappy as anyone else. The two of them lied on the cloud for a little while, enjoying the afternoon with each other, until they heard what sounded like a filly calling out for help, getting their attention as their heads popped out from underneath the clouds and looked around to see where it was coming from and old well below them.

"Looks like our alone time will have to wait." Rainbow Dash said.

She then took off and flew towards the well, busting through some of the old rotting boards as everyone was in earshot of the crashing sound gathered around the old well, waiting for her to fly back out and when she did, she had a little earth pony filly on her back, pale purple in color with a green mane. When she landed to let the filly hope off her back the crowd all cheered for her, even her friends right as Spyro was gliding down to her.

"Wow, what's with this crowd?" She asked. "Thanks everypony, it's was really no big deal."

"It was to me!" The filly said excitedly. "You're my hero Rainbow Dash!"

The crowd cheered for the cyan mare, who was blushing before flying back to the clouds where Spyro was at, lying down on her stomach as she nestled next to Spyro.

"Sorry about that." She said. "I just-"

"You don't need to apologize Rainbow." Spyro replied, wrapping his wing around her. "You did something very brave and very selfless. You saved a filly from a dried up well. I'm very proud of you."

He planted a kiss on her cheek, which she blushed before taking another cloud and covering them to make sure no one was watching them, still trying to keep her image as the coolest pony in Equestria. A little while later however, as they were enjoying themselves again, swimming in the clouds, there was another scream and looked over, seeing that a baby carriage had gotten away from the mother with a foal in it, rolling down the hill to what appeared to be a random edge. Rainbow Dash flew off the cloud and rushed towards the runaway carriage, using her full speed until she managed to bite down on the handle and slammed her hooves into the ground, bringing it to a screeching stop and seeing the foal was ok. The crowd cheered once more as she looked on, a slight blush appearing on her face as she waved to the crowd, taking in the attention before looking to the baby and looking horrified.

"Oh my gosh!" She exclaimed. "There's something wrong with the baby!" Everyone Gasped and Spyro immediately flew down to see what was wrong with the foal, but Rainbow Dash picked the foal up and smiled. "He's not cheering for everyponies favorite hero, Rainbow Dash!"

Everyone cheered again, relieved there wasn't anything really wrong with the baby and flew back to the mother, who looked relieved to see her son was ok before camera's started to flash, taking pictures of Rainbow Dash as she posed after returning the baby to his mother and taking in all the fame and glory. Spyro flew up the hill and stood next to his friends, watching the cyan mare eat up all the attention she was getting.

"There is no word in the dictionary to describe how awesome Rainbow Dash is." Scootaloo said.

"I can think of a few of them." Twilight said.

"And Ah bet modest ain't one of them." Applejack added.

"I have to agree with you girls." Spyro said, watching as she blew kisses to the crowd before zooming to the air and drawing an outline of a thunder bolt out of clouds, wowing the crowd. "Then again, she is awesome." He then flew after her, finding her talking to a crowd of ponies about her dares feats of bravery, only approaching her when she was finished and alone. "Hey Rainbow."

"Oh, hey Spyro." Rainbow Dash said. "How's it hanging?"

"Going well." Spyro replied. "And honestly, you seem to be doing pretty well saving everypony."

"Yeah, ain't I awesome?" She asked, posing for him. "Everypony is loving their local hero, Rainbow Dash."

"Yeah, I can see that." Spyro replied. "Hey, how about dinner tonight at the local restaurant? Just you and me?"

"For real!?" She asked. "Awesome! I'll be there!"

"Great." Spyro said. "Seven o'clock, don't be late."

She then took off and flew off in the opposite direction, away from the village while Spyro remained in the village, walking about the place and getting ready for dinner when he observed a patio on a retirement home crack, the entire thing collapsing as four old ponies fell with it, but Rainbow Dash flew in and managed to get the patio, slowing it's descent until she managed to set it down gently, everyone who saw what happened cheered while her friends arrived to see her show off.

"This might seem silly, but I think all this attention is getting to Rainbow Dash's head." Twilight said.

"You may be right, silly." Pinkie said, Twilight hoof smacking herself.

"I do admit, the attention does seem to be getting to her head." Spyro said. "But as long as it doesn't go too far, I'm sure everything will turn out ok."

His friends looked to him, thinking he was being too optimistic as they left, leaving Spyro alone as he went tot eh restaurant that he said he and Rainbow Dash would eat at. He got to the restaurant and waited for the cyan mare to arrive, however, as he waited, he already ordered something so as to not waste his time there while he waited. But after he was done eating, he found that Rainbow Dash wasn't coming, feeling disappointed as he paid for the meal and left, his heart feeling heavy as he felt like she stood him up, obviously caring more about being well known and famous than about the pony who asked her to dinner. On his way back to the farm house, he ran into Applejack, who seemed to be busy doing something when she spotted him.

"Hey there sugarcube." Applejack said. "Thought ya had a date with Rainbow Dash."

"I did, but she stood me up." Spyro said. "I waited for half an hour, but she never showed up."

"Figures." Applejack said. "She was at Sugarcube Corner talking about how amazing she was and how she saved the old folk from certain doom." She could see how unhappy he was and walked over, lifting his head up so their eyes could meet. "Don't worry sugarcube, everything will work out. Ah'm sure everything will be alright." He smiled at the farm mare, hugging her as she made him feel better before heading inside. "Uh, Spyro, incidentally, ya'll have multiple Keyblades right?"

"Of course I do." Spyro replied. "I got a couple dozen or so. Why?"

"Follow me and Ah'll fill ya in." Applejack replied, a mischievous smile appearing on her face.

Not understanding what she had in mind, Spyro followed her up the dirt trail and back to the farm house, listening to what she had in store. The next morning, Spyro was walking into town with an order for the Cakes, carrying a basket full of apples to Sugarcube Corner when he noticed Rainbow Dash, who was signing autographs for a lot of fans when she noticed him, instantly finishing up the rest before rushing to catch up with him.

"Spyro dude, I'm so, so sorry." She said, flying next to him. "I totally missed our date last night."

"I'll say you missed it." Spyro said, sounding disappointed. "I waited for you for half an hour before leaving. Where were you?"

"Well, er..." Rainbow Dash said, rubbing the back of her neck. "At... Sugarcube corner... giving an interview."

"I knew it." Spyro replied, walking faster. "You ditched me to have your hour of glory and fame."

"Look, I said I was sorry." Rainbow Dash said.

"Sorry doesn't cut it." Spyro said, calm, but serious. "If being in the spotlight is more important than us, then-"

They then heard someone screaming for help, looking to the sky to see that one of the towns balloons has a massive hole on top of it while a mare was screaming for help.

"Oh geez!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed, looking back to Spyro. "Sorry, I need to-"

"Just go." Spyro said, a hint of anger in his voice. "Do what you need to do."

"Look, I'll make it up to you, I promise." Rainbow Dash said, taking off.

She flew towards the balloon as the mare continued to scream for help, zooming towards her, but all of a sudden, another pony leapt up and rescued her, causing Rainbow Dash to fly into the deflated balloon, crashing into a tree in the middle of the park. She managed to dig herself out of the balloon and have a look at the pony who stole her thunder, finding it was a mare wearing a blue and purple costume with a large purple hat and cape, which she then took off and left the crowd, leaving Rainbow Dash speechless while Spyro came over to her.

"Rainbow, you ok?" Spyro asked.

"Yeah, I'm alright." She replied. "But who was that?"

"I've never seen a pony like her." A mare in the crowd said. "She was very brave."

"That's right, Ponyville has a new hero." Mayor Mare said. "A mysterious mare who has done right by our fair city today. Let's all give it up for the mysterious masked her, Mare-Do-Well!"

The crowd then started to cheer while Spyro and Rainbow Dash looked to the hill she had ran over, leaving them confused as to who she is while the crowd kept on cheering. After a little bit, Spyro then got back to delivering the apples while Rainbow Dash walked next to him, still feeling bad about standing him up and wanted to make it up to him. After delivering the apples, Spyro walked out, but kept ignoring Rainbow Dash, which seemed to annoy her as she got in front of him.

"Listen, how many times do I need to say I'm sorry before you talk to me?" Rainbow Dash asked.

"As many times as it takes." Spyro replied. "I asked you out, but you were more focused on how much the people of the town like you. Being a Keyblade warrior doesn't mean fame and glory. You need to be humble and modest as being a glory hog will only make you an easier target."

"And how would you know that?" She asked. "Everypony in town loves you, you're famous."

"Yes, but I don't let it go to my head and go getting an ego." Spyro replied. "Thinking you're number one all the time isn't going to end well for anyone." Before they could continue their argument, they heard more screaming, looking to see an out of control tourist wagon rolling down the same hill the foals baby carriage was on. "Seriously? Since when did Ponyville have so many safety hazards?"

A moment later, Rainbow Dash flew off to save the day again, flying towards the cart and grabbed the broken planks, slamming her hooves into the ground to try and stop it, but ended up looking her footing, going underneath the cart and flung backwards by the wheels, spinning in the air before she fell to the ground. Spyro wanted to go and save them, but Mare-Do-Well appeared in front of the cart, using her hind legs to hit the cart and using her forelegs to slow the cart down, stopping just short of going off the cliff, which everyone cheered for her as she disappeared again.

"I don't believe it." Rainbow Dash said. "Mare-Do-Well is stronger than me?"

"Rainbow Dash, you do realize that AJ and I are both stronger than you, right?" Spyro asked.

"That's not the point!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed. "Besides, a hero is more than just muscle."

"You're right, they are more than just muscle." Spyro said, Rainbow Dash smiling. "They also have brains and have their priorities straight."

Rainbow Dash comically fell over, still not being forgiven by Spyro as he left her alone and went back into town to get something's for his pet while Rainbow Dash caught back up to try and fix their relationship. After getting what he needed, they soon passed by a construction site where Spyro sat down on the nearby bench with a cupcake he picked up from Sugarcube Corner while Rainbow Dash sat next to him, still trying but failing as he was still steamed. A moment later, they heard something creaking, looking up to see that one of the cranes they had was malfunctioning, smoke appearing in the control area, the crane arm swinging around as it suddenly hit the structure. At first they thought it was going to collapse, both Spyro and Rainbow Dash holding their breath as they waited for it to start collapsing, but to their relief it didn't.

"Man, that was close." Rainbow Dash said, looking over to Spyro. "Look, I said I'll make it up to you, and I'm going to. How about we try again tonight? And I promise, I'll be there."

Spyro was silent for a moment, making her think he was going to refuse, but then smiled at her, confusing her for a moment before he wrapped his wing around her and pulled her in, hugging her as she gave a surprised look.

"Alright, dinner tonight." Spyro said, forgiving her. "And I'LL make sure not to stand you up." Rainbow Dash was happy, closing her eyes and smiling as she finally got through to him and hugged him, letting herself be vulnerable, but a moment later, they heard what sounded like screaming, looking over to the construction area to see that there were hammer shaped Heartless at the base of the building and in the building itself. "Hammer Frames!"

"Oh yeah, go time!" Rainbow Dash said.

Both she and Spyro leapt out of the bench and charged towards the Hammer Frames, calling their Keyblades right as they caused the building to collapse as the workers started to flee in different directions.

"Rainbow, get the workers out of harms way!" Spyro shouted. "I'll see about taking care of-" He was then interrupted when Mare-Do-Well appeared again, weaving through all he debris and falling pieces of the incomplete building as she saved the civilians, shocking them at how agile she was and how easily she managed to get them to safety before being surrounded by multiple Hammer Frames. "Mare-Do-Well, get out of there, now!"

The mare didn't listen, but instead looked at the Hammer Frames, possibly smiling under her mask before a flash of light appeared in her mouth, revealing it was the Oblivion Keyblade, shocking both Rainbow Dash and Spyro as they witnessed it. They watched as the mare dodged the hammer attacks, leaping and dodging the attacks while upper cutting a few of them into the air and slicing through them, destroying them at the same time while also slashing down on another one, cutting it in half as she focused on the remaining three. They charged at the same time, but she just leapt up above them and without even hesitating, she released a massive fireball from the tip of her Keyblade, incinerating them in one shot before they could even escape. She then left the area, followed by the workers who were praising her while leaving both Spyro and Rainbow Dash stunned and unable to believe what they had just witnessed.

"She... has... A KEYBLADE!?" Rainbow Dash shouted, falling to the ground in shock. "How!? How is that possible!? The only ponies who have Keyblades are you, me, and the rest of our friends! How does she have one!?"

"I don't know, but now I'm intrigued to find out." Spyro replied, dismissing his blade. "She seems to know how to handle the blade well enough and knows how to use the Fire spell. Looks like we got another Keyblade Bearer."

"But Master Yen Sid said there were only six new ones, not seven." Rainbow Dash pointed out. "Who the heck is this Mare-Do-Well? She's fast, strong, knows what's going to happen before it happens, and she has a Keyblade to top it all off. What's next?"

"I don't know, but that doesn't matter now." Spyro replied. "I'm going to get this stuff back home. Can I ask you to patrol the village for anymore Heartless that might be around?"

"You can count on me." Rainbow Dash said.

She then took off into the sky to patrol the village for anymore Heartless that might have gone unnoticed while Spyro returned home, dropping off the seed and some cleaning supplies for Scorches cage, but as he was returning to the village to help Rainbow Dash look for Heartless, he noticed the dam on the other side of the village, seeing that Rainbow Dash was there and hovering in the air with her hoof on it. He was about to fly up and see what she was doing, but saw as she gave herself a pat on the back, rolling his eyes as he believed she was doing that, thinking that she was trying to save the day again, but a moment later, the dam collapsed and the entire river started to rush out, carrying the cyan Pegasus down stream. He felt his heart sink and immediately leapt to action, flying overhead to dive down and rescue her, but a sudden log swung out from the forest and caught her, the cyan Pegasus coughing as Spyro flew down to get her out of the water and onto dry land where she shook the water off of herself.

"Thanks Spyro, you came in the knick of time." Rainbow Dash said.

"Wish I can take the credit Rainbow, but that wasn't me." Spyro said, surprising her.

"Wait, if you didn't do that, then who..." Rainbow Dash said, looking over to see that it was Mare-Do-Well that saved her. "You! Heh, I suppose you'll want me to thank-"

Mare-Do-Well then removed her hat and revealed she had a unicorn horn, the unicorn using her magic to get a bunch of rocks and stones, using them to repair the dam while Rainbow and Spyro looked on in surprise as she fixed the dam.

"You have got to be kidding me!?" Rainbow Dash shouted. "She's fast, strong, possibly psychic, had a Keyblade, and is magic!?" She then fell over, groaning as she realized she was no match for her. "How in all of Equestria am I supposed to compete with that!?"

"Well, there's one thing you have she doesn't." Spyro said, her ears perking up. "You can fly."

"Hey, you're right!" Rainbow Dash said, flying up before landing back on the ground. "I have wings and can fly! There's no way she-" They both then saw her zoom past, looking up to see she has a pair of wings and was flying, shocking them both as they starred up at her. "WHAT!? Oh for the love of Pete! She has wings too!?"

"She's an Alicorn?" Spyro asked. "But, how's that possible? I thought the princesses were the only ones."

"Augh, this is so not cool!" Rainbow Dash shouted, plopping down and crossing her forelegs. "I was the hero of this town, but now... now I'm a nobody."

He could tell she was very upset about the whole Mare-Do-Well, so he decided to try and cheer her up, sitting down next to her and wrapping his wing around her again, pulling her in for a hug,

"You're not a nobody Rainbow Dash." Spyro replied. "Nobodies don't have hearts, remember?" The cyan Pegasus snickered a bit from the joke, putting a smile on her face. "To me, you are a hero, no matter what anyone says. Whether you're out there saving ponies, or in the training room practicing, you're a hero, no matter what."

Rainbow Dash could feel a massive pang hit her heart, unable to hide the blush on her face after what he just said, so she suddenly reached up and gave him a kiss, their lips connecting as she closed her eyes, catching him completely off guard, his eyes wide in surprise, but closed them as he enjoyed the moment as they allowed themselves to kiss one another, only stopping when Rainbow Dash broke it off and nestled her head on his shoulder, a deep blush on her face.

"Can't believe I'm saying this, but that was the sweetest thing I've heard anypony say to me." Rainbow Dash said, smiling. "Thanks lizard boy. You are the sweetest pony I've ever met."

"You're welcome, Lollipop fugitive." Spyro replied. "See you later tonight."

"Yeah, see ya." Rainbow Dash said.

The two of them then went their separate ways, Rainbow Dash heading back into the village while Spyro went back to Sweet Apple Acres to finish up some chores Granny Smith asked him to take care of, heading into the barn to reorganize the barrels and baskets full of apples while also checking them to make sure none of them were bruised or rotten, putting all the rotten apples in a basket left out for him to put them in. When he turned around, he saw Mare-Do-Well standing right behind him, watching him as he used the Force to lift up the baskets and his magic to remove all of the rotting apples, unfazed that the hero of the town was standing right in front of him.

"Nice work on the dam Twilight." Spyro said. "That was some fine repair work."

"Well what do you expect?" Twilight asked, removing the hat and mask. "I am the princesses star student." A moment later, everyone else walked into the barn, Pinkie and Fluttershy removing their masks as they walked in. "Gotta admit, never thought I'd see her willingly kiss you like that. Caught us by surprise."

"You kidding, it caught me by surprise." Spyro said. "The only time she ever did that was when we had our first date and that was a while ago."

"Never knew she had a soft spot like that." Applejack said. "But then again, this is Rainbow Dash we're talking about."

"Do you think our plan is working?" Rarity asked. "About teaching her to be more humble and not so... egotistical?"

"Well, it's annoying her if that's what you mean." Spyro answered. "And she nearly earned a one way trip to Ponyville insane asylum when Fluttershy flew over with her wings."

"Oh, sorry." Fluttershy said.

"Don't worry about it, our job is almost done." Spyro said. "Now we need to move onto phase two. Are the kids ready?"

"Totally ready!" Pinkie exclaimed. "We have eveyrthing set up and ready to go. Banners, streamers, hats, Knick-knacks... we got everything ready to go! Don't you think this is a little much? Because Rainbow Dash is already jealous enough as it is and is on the verge of actually breaking something."

"Don't worry Pinkie, everything's going according to plan." Spyro said. "This will be one lesson Rainbow Dash will not forget."

"Look, she's heading this way." Applejack said, everyone looking out.

"Shoot, what do we do?" Pinkie asked.

"Leave it to me." Spyro said, looking to Twilight. "Twilight, put the mask and hat back on. Let's see how jealous she really is."

In the air, Rainbow Dash was on her way to Sweet Apple Acres, disappointed she couldn't find anypony to help, other than a mother trying to open a jar of peanut butter, but when she arrived at the orchard, she landed on a cloud to take in a deep breath before heading down, but what she saw made her blood boil. At the barn Spyro was walking out and coming up behind him was Mare-Do-Well, watching as she and Spyro were laughing before she rushed off to who knows where, but Rainbow Dash was seeing red, growling like a dog that the mare that had taken her title as the hero of Ponyville was now attempting to steal her herd leader and colt friend. Before Spyro could turn and head back into the barn, Rainbow Dash appeared in front of the entrance, looking furious and ready to tear someone's head off.

"Rainbow, what are you doing here?" Spyro asked, gaining ignorance.

"What... was... she... doing... here!?" Rainbow Dash shouted. "What was that show stealing, mask wearing, flying hero wannabe doing here!?"

"Rainbow, relax, she was just here to ask me if I could train her." Spyro replied. "She saw that you and I have a Keyblade and wanted to ask if she could learn how to use it."

"Oh really, then why were you laughing a little bit ago?" She asked, raising an eyebrow. "You seem to be a bit chummy to me."

"Oh relax Rainbow, if you're afraid she's going to steal me away from you girls, that won't happen." Spyro said. "But if she would like to join the herd, then-"

"Oh that is it!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed, shooting to the air. "It's all, Mare-Do-Well this, Mare-Do-Well that, how could everypony forget me so easily?" She then flew to a nearby cloud, which turned into a storm cloud as she felt heartbroken. He then flew up to the depressed Pegasus, seeing that she was still crying as she felt alone. "I mean, have I changed that much? i still have the same sleek body, same flowing mane, same spectacular hooves, but they all just forgot about me. I feel all alone, and I hate being alone."

"Oh Rainbow Dash." Spyro said, wrapping his wing around her. "You aren't alone. Ponies need heroes who actually care, not someone who is just in it for the glory. Maybe-"

"Rainbow Dash!" Scootaloo shouted.

"I knew it!" Rainbow Dash said. "I still have one fan left!"

She then rushed down to Scootaloo to see what she wanted, so Spyro looked over and motioned for the rest of his friends to get moving, all four of them sneaking out of the barn and into the nearby orchard to remain hidden from Rainbow Dash before he went down to be with the two Pegasi, but saw Scootaloo leaving while Rainbow Dash looked seriously annoyed.

"What's wrong?" Spyro asked. "Why do you look angry?"

"Scootaloo invited me to the parade that is being hosted in Ponyville to honor Mare-Do-Well." Rainbow Dash said. "I am so not going."

"Why not?" Spyro asked. "After all, she going to be training with you from now on, might as well go and show her some support."

"Me? Train with her?" She asked, her eye twitching as she said it. "Oh... heck... NO! I mean, why would train with her or even thank her. Thank you Mare-Do-Well, who ever you are, for-" That was when she stopped ranting, a thought coming to her mind, rushing after Scootaloo. "Hey squirt, wait up!"

"Uh oh." Spyro said, pulling the cover on his bracer back. "Girls, looks like we're going to have to change the plan up a bit. Rainbow Dash is on her way. Be ready."

After sending his warning, he flew after Rainbow Dash to Ponyville, following her all the way to the park where the parade was to take place. In the park, a stage was already set up and a crowd of ponies had already gathered, some of the fillies all dressed up as Mare-Do-Well as banners and a background was already set up on the stage, all of which has an image of Mare-Do-Well on them. A little while later, Mayor Mare walked onto the stage and cleared her throat, getting the crowds attention as the celebration started.

"Mares and Gentlecolts, welcome to Ponyville's first, and certainly not last, thank you parade in honor of our fair towns greatest hero, the mysterious, Mares-Do-Well!" Mayor Mare said.

A second later, Mare-Do-Well burst through the banner on the stage and the crowd cheered, some holding up signs showing their appreciation while others screamed, shouting how they loved her. Spyro could then sense contempt and jealousy projected towards the masked pony, looking around to find it was Rainbow Dash, who looked to have had enough and flew to the stage.

"The mysterious Mare-Do-Well, huh?" Rainbow Dash asked, everyone int he crowd gasping. "So, Mare-Do-Well, what are you hiding underneath that mask?"

"Rainbow Dash, stand down!" Spyro said, flying to the stage. "Some heroes wear one to protect their identity and their loved ones."

"Yeah, but it could also be somepony who holds ill intent as well!" Rainbow Dash retorted. "How do we not know it's actually one of Maleficent's minions trying to sucker us into a false sense of security before letting a bunch of Heartless attack the town? Or May for that matter!?"

"Because anyone who serves Maleficent is either a Heartless, or the dim witted mutt, Pete." Spyro replied. "And May hasn't been seen in weeks, so I doubt she has the strength to try another attack."

"It doesn't mean I still trust her!" Rainbow Dash reported, looking back to the mare. "Let's see how mysterious you are without that mask!"

She then reached down to try and snag the mask, but the mare dodged her and took off, running into town with Rainbow Dash right behind her.

"Well, this calls for some Benny Hill music." Spyro said.

He reached behind his back and pulled out a radio, opening the cassette player and putting in a tape and closed the player, pressing the play button as he picked the radio up and found a nearby cloud, lying down on it as he watched Rainbow Dash chase Mare-Do-Well, the music playing in the back ground as Rainbow Dash ran up and down a street where Mare-Do-Well, even watching as she flew by, confusing Rainbow Dash as she seemed to disappear and reappear. She then followed the masked pony to an alleyway and thought she had her cornered, but Mare-Do-Well was already on top of the wall and leapt off, infuriating Rainbow Dash as she turned around and flew another direction to catch her while the music kept on playing, Spyro watching as they went under ground and pop back up, the cyan mare getting close to catching her, but then a whistle got her attention and turned to see Mare-Do-Well again, Rainbow Dash looking at where she last saw her, but was gone, growing increasingly annoyed as she chased her, only to stop and look to a roof, flying up to it and waiting for Mare-Do-Well pass by, pouncing on her and finally catching her.

When she did, Spyro paused the music and put the radio away, flying down to Rainbow Dash as she removed the mask, only for her eyes to widen in shock and surprise, seeing it was Pinkie Pie who was under the mask.

"You!?" Rainbow Dash exclaimed. "Pinkie! W-w-w-w-what!? You're Mare-Do-Well!?" However, she then looked up and saw another Mare-Do-Well in front of her, removing her mask to reveal it was Twilight. "Twilight, you too!?" She then heard hoof steps behind her, turning to see a third Mare-Do-Well, who removed her mask to show it was Applejack. "Even Applejack!? What the hay is going on!? All three of you were Mare-Do-Well!?"

"Yep, all three of use play Mare-Do-Well at different times." Twilight replied.

"Ah was the one who stopped the runaway carriage." Applejack said. "It wasn't too difficult."

"And I was the one who saved the workers at the construction site with my Pinkie sense." Pointier said, which her tail started to twitch and she rushed over to Rainbow Dash, saving her from getting a concussion from a potted plant. "Though, the Heartless were a bit of a surprise."

"You can say that again." Spyro said, flying down.

"Wait, you were in on it as well!?" Rainbow Dash asked.

"Yep, I was." Spyro replied. "How else would Pinkie have the Oblivion Keyblade to fight the Heartless off with? The original plan was to use the Keyblade to slice through the debris, but when the Heartless showed up, we had to change the plan."

"And I was the one who fixed the dam." Twilight said, removing the hat. "I used my magic to repair it."

"And I was the one who did the fly by afterwards." Fluttershy said.

"And I was the one who made the costumes." Rarity said. "Need some inspiration so when Spyro showed us the Keyblade he wanted us to use, I immediately got to work matching the costumes with the weapon. Quite fabulous if you ask me."

Rainbow Dash was left completely speechless, walking away from them before turning around to talk to them.

"But, I don't understand." Rainbow Dash said. "Why? Why would you do this? I thought you guys liked me being a hero."

"Of course we do Rainbow." Twilight replied.

"But a real hero doesn't brag." Applejack added. "And they don't forget about a date they have with a certain somepony we know."

"Oh, right." Rainbow Dash said, rubbing the back of her neck with a nervous smile. "Guess I did brag a little."

"A LITTLE!?" Everyone shouted, causing Rainbow Dash to fall over.

"Ok, a lot." Rainbow Dash said, sitting up.

"Rainbow, celebrating your accomplishments is only natural." Spyro said. "But letting it go to your head and rubbing it in everyone else's face isn't exactly cool."

"Yeah, the only thing you should rub in anyponies face is chocolate cake!" Pinkie said, licking her lips, confusing everyone as she kept licking her lips and her hooves.

"Ah think we're getting off topic here." Applejack pointed out.

"What we mean Rainbow Dash is that it's ok to be really good at something, but it is very important to act with grace and humility." Twilight said.

Rainbow Dash thought it over for a moment and finally realized what it was they were trying to teach her, flying up as it hit her.

"Oh, now it makes a lot more sense." Rainbow Dash said. "And I guess I should act with grace and humility when others outshine me. Like... Mare-Do-Well."

"Well said there Rainbow Dash." Spyro said. "Well said. And I do believe you got a letter to write to the princess."

"Already got it covered." Spike said. "I already have a letter written and ready to go."

"That's nice of you Spike, but I'd like to write it myself." Rainbow Dash said.

"Aw, come on, I already had it written out for you." Spike pleaded.

"Oh alright." Rainbow Dash said, but a moment later, before he could begin, she acted surprised and looked up. "Gah, look out, it's a ghost!"

Both Spike and Pinkie screamed, running away as the rest of the group just laughed at them, which Rainbow Dash then left to head back home so she could write her letter. As the day went on, Rainbow Dash had just finished her letter and was preparing something to eat as it was getting late, but as she was about to start something, she heard what sounded to be a knock, heading over to her door and found Spyro was there.

"Oh hey Spyro." She said. "What are you doing here?"

"Did you forget about our date again?" Spyro asked, shocking the cyan Pegasus.

"D'oh, I did!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed. "I'm so sorry, I-"

"Relax Rainbow Dash." Spyro said, revealing he had a basket. "I already got us something to eat for tonight. Made it myself."

"Oh, you didn't have to do that." Rainbow Dash said. "I missed our date last night, I should be the one to-"

"Rainbow, I insist." Spyro said. "I know you want to make it up to me, so do so by enjoying the moment with me tonight."

He held up his hoof to her, which Rainbow Dash took instinctively as he she walked out, the pair walking together as the sun was setting, finding a place in the clouds to sit down and enjoy a meal together. Meanwhile, in the Nobody stronghold, Xemnas and Ansem were busy with something when Larxene walked in, kneeling before them as she awaited for them to speak to her.

"You wished to see me sir?" Larxene asked.

"Yes, we have some interesting news." Xemnas said. "We intercepted a communication that was received by what appears to be a clan of Mandalorians, who call themselves 'Children of the Watch.'"

"Which we believe means they are descendants from the original Death Watch." Ansem said. "If so, they hold a deep hatred for the Jedi and possibly for the prince once they learn he is one."

"You wish for me to intercept them and take them out?" Larxene asked.

"No, do not harm them." Xemnas answered. "If they are meeting with someone, I have a feeling who it may be. I need you to go to Tatooine and see who it is they are meeting. If it's the prince, you are free to engage. Destroy them all."

"It shall be done sir." Larxene replied.

She got up and walked out of the room, leaving her masters and returning to her chambers to prepare for a fight, but outside, Demyx had heard everything and was rushing to his quarters, getting onto his computer as he typed in a message, sending it to warn his friend about what was about to head his way.
