Monday, Cafeteria, 12:15 P.M...
"Soooo, Shane? How's the band going? Are you guys rockin' out?" Bayley asked, adorably imitating playing a guitar.
Shane chuckled.
"It's going great, Smiles. We just had our first couple practice sessions over the weekend, and things are looking promising. Thanks for asking." He responded, patting the sweet girl on her head.
Feeding time for the teens was in the process, and today was an unusually uncrowded day at the table. Big E was off hanging with Xavier, Emma, Sasha, and Kofi. Cody managed to get himself in all day detention for flirting with his English teacher, Ms. Stratus. Meanwhile, Dean and Becky decided that they wanted to have lunch together on there own, on a small date of sorts. So, that left Shane, Alexa, Seth and Bayley by themselves.
"I'm glad. It sounds like you're having a good time with the girls." Alexa uncharacteristically stated.
"And I'm glad you're keeping your jealousy in check by saying that, because I know it's killing you on the inside." Price remarked, half joking, half not.
"Oh, you have no idea." She said, confirming his observation.
Shane then kissed his girl on the cheek.
"A few months ago you wouldn't have been able to restrain yourself." Seth pointed out.
"True, but a few months ago, I wasn't around. Just goes to show, Shane Price makes everything better." He jokingly bragged.
This made Alexa slightly laugh.
"You're an idiot. But, you're right. You did make me a better person. Again though, you're an idiot."
"Better, but still snarky as all hell." Rollins commented.
"That's something that's never gonna change, my friend. And honestly, I wouldn't want it any other way." Price sweetly said.
Bayley was over the moon at the affection thrown back and forth between her two friends.
"You guys are soooo freaking cute together! Shane, you're such a sweetheart!"
Meanwhile, the sound of Mr. Rollins clearing his throat was audible. Apparently, he wasn't a fan of his girlfriend calling another guy a sweetheart. Who woulda thunk it? Bayley realized this and quickly tried to fix the problem.
"But there's no sweeter guy on the planet than my Ninja." She proclaimed, pulling him into a hug.
A cocky smirk crept onto the face of the quarterback.
"That's right. Anyway, back to Cash. You said you're band's doing alright? What kind of stuff did you guys play?"
"Yeah, I'm actually curious about that." Bliss chimed in.
"Just whatever songs we thought of", Shane started to explain, "The first song we tried to play was a track called Hate To Say I Told You So by The Hives. Rhea suggested it since she learned how to play it on guitar years ago. Ruby and Liv seemed familiar with the song as well. Me on the other hand, had no idea about it. So, Liv ran, got her phone, connected it to one of the speakers and played it. 30 seconds in and I already loved it. I listened to it about 5 times to try and memorize the melody before I took out my phone to recite the lyrics. It took a while, but eventually we were playing like a well-oiled machine. I think I was able to pull off the vocals with my own style."
Seth was taken aback by the song choice.
"Nice! That was one of my favorite songs growing up. I gotta hear you sing it."
"Hey, nothing's stopping you from showin' up to Ruby's house and sitting in on a rehearsal." Price pointed out.
"I'll keep that in mind."
"Well, I don't know who The Hives are, but if Shane's singing it must sound amazing." Bayley commented in full support.
"Aw shucks, Smiles. Don't make me blush now."
"I wouldn't mind seeing that. It's hilarious whenever he gets all red in the face."
That voice did not come from anyone sitting at the table. In fact, that voice belonged to one Liv Morgan, who happened to be walking toward them with a tray of food in her hands. Shane was happy to see his bassist.
"Oh hey, Liv. What's up?" He asked.
She sat her trey on the table, and the two members of the Riott Squad hugged.
"Nothing much, honey. Just passin' by and getting some food. Hey Lexi, hey Bayley, hey Rollins."
"Got you, got you. Feel free to sit if you want."
"I would, but I promised Rue Rue and Rhea that I'd eat with them in the music room. In fact, how about you come with us? Squad lunch time, dude." Morgan offered.
The blonde boy wasn't exactly opposed to the idea of hanging out with his band mates, but at the same time, he was currently chilling with his original "Squad", so to speak.
"Well, I'd love to Liv, but I'm already with-"
Before he could finish his sentence, Alexa cut him off.
"Nuh uh, babe. You should go with her. Think about it, the more you're with your band, the more the chemistry between all of you improves. I think it's a great idea."
Price could swear his jaw dropped. No one else could believe it either. Seth was getting flashbacks to when Alexa started being nice and he swore she had been replaced by aliens.
"Uh... Are you sure you're okay with me leaving?"
Bliss kissed her man on the cheek.
"Don't keep Liv waiting. She gets impatient quickly."
"She's right, honey. Well, you heard Miss Bliss. Let's go then." The mischievous cheerleader said, happy about the whole situation.
All Shane could do was shrug his shoulders and get out of his seat. He pecked Alexa on the lips, fist bumped Rollins, and endured a hug from Bayley before following Liv out of the cafeteria. Meanwhile, the pint sized princess herself, seemed pleased with her actions, according to the smirk on her face.
"What's with the look?" Seth asked knowingly.
Bliss acted like she didn't know what he was talking about.
"Why, whatever do you mean Seth?"
Rollins then narrowed his eyes at his longtime friend.
"Woman, I've known you since the sandbox. The only time you smirk like that is when you have some little trick up your sleeve, so spill it."
"Honestly, there's no tricks this time. I'm just proving that I am the best girlfriend of all time... Also, I may have told Liv some ways to really mess with him last night over the phone."
"Aha! I knew it, you did have an ulterior motive! You just want Cash around Liv so she can fuck with him."
"Hold on, hold on. Although that's part of the reason, I meant the stuff I said about chemistry with his band. I'll support my man with anything he wants to do... unless it's stupid. This isn't stupid."
"Aww, that's sweet." Bayley chimed in.
"It is... but I know it's still eating you up inside that he's around 3 other girls by himself all the time." Rollins pointed out.
The smirk on Alexa's face quickly transformed into a scowl.
"Again... you have no fucking idea."
Seeing her friend in an unhappy state, Bayley sprang into action once again, and hugged Little Miss Bliss.
"Shane's a good boy. He'll behave himself." The bubbly cheerleader told her.
Seth chuckled.
"Babe, for his sake? He better."
AN: Hey, hey. Filler chapter... Sorry. Don't kill me. The point of that really was to show an example of the type of songs I plan to use throughout the band arc. If you guys got any suggestions, leave one in the review section or PM me. And if you hate the songs I use, lemme know so I can try and do better. I'm just trying to keep my audience happy. Also, TheJD, I saw your message. I just didn't answer because I genuinely didn't know at the time. Sorry fam. Alright, I'm out. See ya'll in the next chapter.
