Friday, Seth's Locker, 3:12 P.M...
The most glorious time of the week for students had finally arrived, Friday afternoon. The final bell had rung, and everyone was officially free to do what they wanted over the next 2 and a half days. For Shane, today was a big day. The day he was going to finally meet his girlfriend's parents. It was a big milestone, and as far as he was concerned, a little past due. Not to say that he wasn't at least a little nervous. Anyone would be. As evidenced by how his first day in school went, first impressions meant a lot to Shane, and he really wanted Alexa's mom and dad to like him. She said to be at her house by 5:15, so he planned on getting home soon so he could freshen up a bit. But, knowing he had some time, Price decided to go and see what some of his people were up to. In doing so, he spotted Seth and Dean standing by Seth's locker having a conversation.
"So basically, Becky's been getting me into doing these little workouts with her, and I'm not gonna lie, they've been kind of fun. I'm sore as a bitch though." Dean explained.
"Are you kidding me, Ambrose?! I've been trying to get you to exercise with me for years and you always told me to screw off!" Seth complained.
As the verbal exchange between the lifelong pair of friends went on, Shane inserted himself into the conversation.
"Hey, guys. What are you talking about?" He asked curiously.
"Oh hey, Cash. Nothing, it's just Dean here is apparently all into fitness now, even though I've been asking him to come to the gym with me for years and he's always said no." Rollins vented.
"Oh? Well, what changed, Dean?"
Ambrose just nonchalantly shrugged before answering.
"Becky was able to convince me I guess. She asked me a few days ago and I said why not. It's no big deal really."
"No big deal? All she had to do was ask?! I practically begged you over and over again, and gave you all these great reasons as to why you should do it with me, and ya brushed me off every time!"
Again, all Ambrose could do was shrug, which made Seth even angrier.
Shane laughed at the back and forth between the two.
"It's okay, Cap. You just lack the ability that Becky has when it comes to persuading people, unfortunately."
Rollins rolled his eyes.
"Pfft, whatever. More like, I lack tits and a pussy."
Dean then pointed at him.
"Right there, hit the nail right on the head. I don't know though. Something tells me you wouldn't make a very attractive chick. Like at all."
Again Shane laughed, while Dean's words rolled around in Seth's head.
"Although it was kinda crude in the way you guys said it, it's true. The right girl can cause a guy to do things he'd never in a million years dream of doing. It's happened to me, and now it's happening to Dean. I'm sure Bayley's had the same sort of effect on you, Seth... Seth? Seth, what's wrong?"
Rollins had a scowl on his face. I mean he looked piiiiiissed.
"I'm... I don't know why, but I'm offended by what Dean just said. Actually, yeah. I resent that statement. You're wrong, Ambrose. I would be hot as hell if I was a girl! I'd be sexy! Sexy, I tell you!"
Unfortunately, as he said that, a group of girls walking past the boys overheard the quarterback's strange proclamation.
"Yeah Seth, you'd be a bad bitch. Wouldn't he, girls? A girl named Mandy called out, which in turn made the rest of her friends snicker as they walked away.
Poor Seth's face was as red as Deadpool's suit. The boy was embarrassed beyond belief. Dean and Shane saw this, and they tried so, so hard, not to laugh at their buddy... but they just couldn't help themselves. Ambrose broke first.
"BAAAAHAHAHAHA! Dude, dude, the timing couldn't have been any worse for you on that one! Jeez-Holy shit! Hahahahaha!" He stated, tearing up from laughing so hard.
"Dean! Don't- don't laugh at Seth. It's not...fu-funn... HAHAHAHAHAHA! I'm sorry, but I can't ho-hold it in anymore! Hahahaha! That shit was fuckin hilarious!"
At this point, all Rollins could do was lean against his locker and slump down onto the floor, sitting while hugging his knees to his chest.
"Ughhhh, I'm such a nerd sometimes." He sulked.
Dean, being the great friend he is, took a break from pissing himself laughing to kneel down and try to comfort Seth. In the Dean way of course.
"Nah, Seth that's not true. You're not a nerd sometimes."
Seth looked up at him with what looked like hope.
"Really? You think so?"
"Of course... you're a fuckin nerd all the time."
The hopeful look soon turned into a frown.
"Gee thanks, friend. I appreciate it."
"I'm always here to help." Ambrose said while patting the two toned haired boy's back. As he did this, Seth buried his head into his knees and groaned, still embarrassed out of his mind.
"It's okay, buddy. Come on, let me get my jacket from my locker and we can go out and grab a bite to eat. Food always cheers me up. You wanna come with, Shane?"
"As much as I'd love to, and I'm afraid I can't go with you guys. I've got important boyfriend business to take care of."
"What, Alexa's gonna blow you when you get home or something?" Dean asked rudely.
"No! I mean... I wish, but no! Man get your mind outta the gutter. I'm meeting her parents tonight. They invited me and my dad over for dinner so I gotta go home and get ready." Shane explained.
"Oh. I'd prefer a blowjob if I were you. Don't tell Becks I said that. And uh, I think we've got company."
"Huh? What are you talking abo- ooof!"
All of a sudden, Shane felt a large amount of pressure on his back, almost like he was getting gripped onto by a koala bear or something. But as soon as his eyes were covered, he knew exactly what was happening.
The sound of a mischievous giggle filled the air, followed by the words, "Guess who?"
"Uhh... I'm gonna take a shot in the dark and saaaay... Liv Morgan."
"Oooh, you're getting good at this, honey." The blonde cheerleader said before getting down.
Price turned around to face her and saw that she had Rhea with her as well.
"How could I not be? You do this damn near every day now. Yo, Rhea, how's it going?"
"Can't complain, mate, can't complain." Ripley replied cool as a cucumber.
She then looked over Shane's shoulder to see Seth on the floor, still wallowing in his own self pity.
"Uhhh... what's the matter with your friend there?"
Dean took it upon himself to explain the situation.
"Oh, Sethy boy? He's fine. He just embarrassed the fuck out of himself in front of some really hot girls and now he's all down in the dumps about it. Seth, it's okay man. At least Bayley thinks you're cool. Although, even she might not after she hears about this. Cause bro, Mandy Rose was the girl who heard you, and she's like the queen of gossip. I'd be surprised if the whole school didn't know about this by Monday morning."
All Seth could say in response to that information was, "Uggggggghhhhhhhh."
"Yup, that's basically what happened. What about you guys though? Where's Ruby?" Price asked his band mates.
"We're on the way to Rue Rue right now actually. She should be at her locker by this time." Liv answered.
"Nice. What did the three of you plan on doing?"
"Honestly? Nothin. Practice isn't until tomorrow, so we were just gonna hang out and wait for something to pop up I guess. You wanna tag along?" Rhea offered.
"No, Rhea, he can't. Not today. Our lead singer has a special get together with his lady friend that he must attend." Morgan told the Aussie.
Ripley was intrigued.
"Is that right? Got yourself a date, huh?"
"Eh, kinda. Alexa's parents wanna meet me and my dad formally, so we're heading over there for dinner in a few hours. Wait, Liv? How did you know?"
"Um, me and Lexi are besties, remember? We tell each other everything, duh."
Then Liv smirked and repeated, "Everything", which unsettled Shane a little.
"Aaaaanyway... yeah, I can't hang out with you guys and Ruby today, sorry. Gonna have to wait until tomorrow to get the Squad together. Speaking of, my dad actually suggested a song to me that I think we could pull off pretty well. We'll talk about it at practice, alright?"
"Roger that. I'm kinda bummed you can't hang though. You'd probably think of something for us to do." Liv said.
That's when Dean chimed in.
"Hey, if you got nothin' to do, you could come with me and Seth. We're going to Shake Shack to get some grub. You in?"
"Hmmm... Sure! What about you, Rhea? Food sound good?"
"I could go for a bite to eat. Why not?"
Shane couldn't help but smile at the sight of all his friends coming together.
"See? You don't need me after all."
"Oh hush with that. You're always useful to have around." The mischievous girl told him.
"She ain't wrong. You've gotten me out of more shitty situations than I can even count at this point." Ambrose piggybacked.
"Well, thank you guys for that. That means a lot to me. I'm gonna have to split now though, so I'll see you all around."
Shane dapped up Dean and hugged Liv. He was gonna dap up Seth, but he was too busy sulky so he just settled on a wave goodbye. Then he got to Rhea, and for whatever reason, he got all awkward.
"Uhhh, I'm not sure if you, uh... do hugs or not."
Rhea laughed at his sudden timid demeanor.
"Oh come on, mate. Of course I like hugs. Just cause I'm a badass, as you put it, don't mean I'm cold hearted as well. C'mere."
To Shane's surprise, Rhea wrapped him up in a big ol' hug. She then let go, and Shane stood there blushing with a dumb look on his face.
"See? That wasn't so bad, was it? See ya later, pal." Ripley said before ruffling his hair and walking away.
Liv followed, blowing a kiss to Shane, and Dean helped Seth off the floor before they followed the girls to Ruby. All Shane could think was this one thought.
"I felt almost... safe in her arms for some reason... What the hell?"
4:57 PM...
"Alright, father. You ready to be all formal and junk?" Price asked his dad.
"Nah, kid. If I'm gonna be completely honest, formal's not quite my style." Kevin said as he buttoned up his shirt.
"Oh wow, really? I couldn't tell by how you sometimes walk around the house in just your underwear and a barbecue sauce stained wifebeater, or by the way you sometimes crash on the couch like a drunk uncle at like 1 in the afternoon. Or maybe it's the fact that you work at a nightclub that based off of the stories you've told me, is regularly filled to the brim with nothing but drunkards, floozies, and... Well that's about it."
"You don't wanna show up to this girl's house with a black eye and a broken nose, then I suggest you shut your mouth."
"Point taken, point taken. We clean up nice though, don't we?"
Shane was currently wearing a red polo shirt with a pair of black jeans, while Kevin wore a plaid button up shirt with some blue jeans. Kevin actually ran a comb through his hair for once, while Shane did the same.
"Well, me nicer than you, but sure. I'd say so."
"Imma just let you believe that nonsense, old man."
"You ain't gonna LET me believe shit. I'm a grown ass man, and I believe what I want to believe. Especially when it's the truth. Now, let's go. Food awaits, and I'm on a time limit."
The father/son duo left their house and made their way over to the Bliss household. For Kevin, it was personally his first time there, but to the knowledge of absolutely no one but Alexa and himself, this was just one of the many times Shane had been there. Papa Price knocked and the two waited. A small amount of time passed before the door opened, and there stood a seemingly overly excited man with a big smile on his face.
"Hello! Welcome, welcome! You must be our neighbors from across the street! I'm Tyler, Alexa's dad."
Kevin and Shane shared a perplexed look with one another before introducing themselves to the man. Tyler shook both of their hands, and enthusiastically motioned for them to come inside. Much like Shane when he first arrived inside, Kevin was blown away by the Bliss home.
"Whooooa. This is quite the pad you've got here, Tyler."
"Well, thank you! My wife and I have worked for years to be able to live here."
"Yeah, mostly his wife though. Hi, I'm Allie. I'm the mom." She said, coming out of nowhere.
Allie took one look at the patriarch of the Price family, and her unenthused demeanor switched up immediately.
"And you are?" She asked, fluttering her eyes at Kevin.
"I'm Kevin, this one's dad." He answered while pulling Shane close to him and giving him a noogie.
It was around this time, the last part of the puzzle had decided to make her presence known.
"Oh look, the Price boys decided to finally show their faces."
Shane got happy.
"Princess? Is that you?"
"Duh, dummy. Who else could it be?"
Alexa then walked up to the blonde boy, (literally everyone in the house is blonde), and shared a hug with her boyfriend, and then Shane kissed her on the cheek.
"Awww, isn't that adorable?" Tyler gushed.
"Yeah, yeah, sure." Allie said, still focused on Kevin, almost eye fucking him. Tyler seemed blissfully (Ha, get it?), unaware of what was going on.
"Okay everyone, let's head over to the kitchen. I made my world famous lasagna!"
Kevin rubbed his hands together in excitement.
"Ooooh, I can't wait."
All four of them entered the kitchen, and Tyler fixed everyone a plate of food.
"What would you all like for drinks?" He asked.
"Ya got any beer, Ty?" Papa Price requested.
"Ooh, unfortunately not friend. We do have sparkling apple cider though."
Kevin was visibly disappointed.
"Oh, okay. I'll just take some water then."
"Same for me." Shane followed.
Alexa and Allie asked for the cider, so Tyler poured them their respective glasses. He then fetched water bottles for the Price men from the refrigerator. Tyler, Allie, and Alexa sat on one side of the table, while Kevin and Shane sat on the other.
After the preparation, they all began to chow down on the food that Ty had made. Allie started the conversation.
"Sooo, Kevin was it? What made you and your son want to move here?"
"Had a job opportunity offered to me that was too good to pass up. Plus, moving from Arizona to New York seemed cool. There's nothing to do in Phoenix." He explained.
"What's your job, if you don't mind me asking. Lexi told us that your time with us what limited." She continued with the questions.
"I work at the Castle Nightclub downtown as the head booker/part time bouncer. Basically, I'm in charge of making sure there's entertainment at the establishment every night, whether it's a band, comedian, or whatever. As for the bouncer part, that's only when people decide that they wanna be knuckleheads, which is often."
"Ya got any wacky stories?" Tyler asked.
"Oh definitely. I remember this one time, some dude and his girl were having an argument over something dumb, I don't know. So, outta nowhere, the girl takes off her high heel and tried to stab the poor guy in the face with it! So I get notified, and I rush over and try to defuse the situation. The chick then decided that she's gonna kill ME instead, so she swings at me with the damn shoe. I managed to catch it, then I grabbed her and had to drag her out of the club. The craziest part, is that the dude tried to fight me for touching his girl, so then I had to throw HIM out too! Next day, I found out that they tried to sue me for physical assault!"
Everyone at the table laughed at the story, Allie more than the rest.
"Oooh that sounds... exciting."
Alexa, Kevin and Shane could've sworn they saw her bite her lip after she said that, but once again, Tyler had nooooo idea.
"Yeah it does! My wife and I run a cosmetics company called The Bliss Beauty Market. It gets pretty crazy sometimes, I tell you." He said.
Allie rolled her eyes.
"Yeah, all those meetings with rich assholes are the definition of intense." She said sarcastically.
"Allie dear, come on with the swearing. We have guests, for pete's sake. Sorry about that, fellas."
"No problem, Mr. Bliss. It's fine." Shane said, trying to ease Tyler's worries.
Tyler smiled at this.
"You seem like a polite young man. I'm glad my daughter took a liking to you. Tell me, how did you two come together as a couple?" He asked him.
"Seriously, because the first time she ever brought you up, she called you a loser."
"Allie, please!"
"What? She did."
Shane laughed.
"Oh please, she still calls me that to this day. I get no respect."
"Whatever, you still make fun of my height, so we're even." Alexa responded before sticking her tongue out at him.
Shane waved her off before getting ready to answer the original question.
"Honestly, it was just a gradual thing. Our social circles kinda intersected, and we ended up spending time with each other. I'm on the football team, and she's the head cheerleader, so we'd be around one another no matter if we wanted to or not. At first, she didn't really like me too much though. But, I just used the Ol' Price charm, and boom. We're boyfriend and girlfriend."
"Price charm always works." His dad chimed in jokingly.
The two high fived, and Alexa rolled her eyes.
"Please, you were just weird enough to intrigue me. There is no Price charm." She challenged.
"Sure, whatever you say, Short Stuff."
"I remember when we used to play back and forth like that." Allie grumbled under her breath.
"Hmmm?" Tyler asked, not hearing her.
"Nothing, honey."
The four of them continued eating and making odd comments until Kevin pulled out his phone to check the time.
"Alright, party people. I'm sorry, but I have to get to work. I thank you for the meal and the great hospitality you guys showed. You're welcome to come over to our home any time ya want." He said, getting up.
"Nice to meet you... Kevin." Allie flirtatiously said to him.
"Yeah... you too. C'mon boy, say bye to your little girlfriend and let's bounce."
"See ya around, princess. This was nice." Shane said to Alexa.
"I liked it too. Does this count as our first date?"
"Oh, no, no, no. Consider it a warmup."
"Alright, well I'll be looking forward to the real thing."
"It'll be friggin epic, I promise."
"Kind of like our first date right, honey?" Tyler asked his wife, smiling.
"It was nice. Back then it was." She answered, seemingly annoyed.
Kevin and Shane then left the Bliss house and walked back across the street to their own home.
"So, that was cool... Alexa's mom was friendly." Kevin awkwardly stated.
Price laughed.
"I noticed. So did Alexa."
"Well, I'm gonna have to pass on that one. She's a good looking woman, but she's married. Kev doesn't mess with infidelity."
"I hear that, I hear that... Yo her dad had no idea."
Kevin looked at his son for a few seconds... then laughed.
"I know! How the fuck did he not notice?!"
Price just shrugged.
"It's that Price charm, man."
"You damn right, kid."
