Prompt by Maya: "What if we made a mistake?"
Another great prompt from a great Darvey writer. (AnonymousDH on FF)
Thanks Maya, I hope you like it.
"Donna, I need you!" Harvey shouted in frustration from inside his very large walk-in closet.
He was standing in the middle of the space, holding several different ties in his hand, second-guessing every choice he had made so far.
Very rarely did he ever have an issue picking out what he would wear, but tonight was different; he needed to make a good first impression. He was meeting several of Donna's friends for the first time.
And fuck, if he wasn't nervous about it.
He wasn't naive to think they hadn't heard about him. But they only knew him as Donna's boss—all the bad and good that was attached to the title. But this time they were meeting Harvey Specter, Donna's fiancé.
Donna sauntered into his Tom Ford suit shrine of a closet two seconds later. "Hey. Everything okay?"
They had just started moving her things into his place and thankfully there were two very large closets in the bedroom, because they both had extensive wardrobes.
Harvey stood—distracted by the choice of neckwear in his hand—and groaned loudly, clearly irritated at his lack of decision-making. Then a series of rapid-fire questions escaped past his lips (directed at Donna but still looking down at the unmatched ties).
"Which tie do I go with?"
"What if we made a mistake?"
"Maybe we should do this another night?"
"Harvey. Relax. Everything is going to be fine. And the only mistake I see right now are those ties you're holding in your hand."
He shrugged his shoulders. "Why is this so hard all of a sudden?"
Donna giggled, then walked over to him, closing in the space between them—it was at that moment that he looked up. He held his breath as his eyes traveled up and down the length of her body. She was wearing a short, emerald green dress that hugged her in all his favorite spots.
"You look gorgeous," he said, placing the ties on the bench and then gathering her up in his arms. Donna responded by wrapping her arms around his neck.
Suddenly, he felt better, and when he leaned in to steal a kiss, Donna teased him about her make-up being fresh, but he didn't care.
He pressed his lips against hers and for a moment he got lost in her taste and smell—jasmine and strawberries. Closing his eyes, he contemplated how far he wanted to take this.
In the end, oxygen and dinner plans won out and he gently pulled away. Still holding on tightly to his neck, Donna smiled.
"Hmmm, you are a wicked man, Harvey Specter." She said it in a tone that warmed his body and he returned his famous grin, the one that took up space on his entire face.
Donna turned around to leave, but not before walking over to his tie cabinet and pulling out a tie he hadn't even considered.
"Here, wear this one," she told him matter of factly.
Donna handed him a charcoal gray tie with a light plaid pattern. Then she winked and walked out of the closet. From outside the bedroom, she shouted, "Ray will be downstairs in thirty minutes, pretty."
He laughed under his breath at her ability to pick the perfect tie for him and call him pretty at the same time.
He held the tie up to his creamy black Tom Ford suit and wasn't the least bit surprised at how well the ensemble matched. That, and he looked damn good, but then again, he always looked good.
With a chuckle, he said out loud, "Pretty my ass, I'm fucking beautiful."
He turned his attention toward the full length mirror, then slipped the silk material through his collar and performed the neckwear ritual he could do with his eyes closed.

Donna waited patiently in the kitchen for Harvey to finish getting ready. She learned early on that he always needed more time than her. There were only a few occasions that she had been later than him. She smiled at the thought of her revelation.
As far as nerves went, she was a little anxious for Harvey to meet her friends, only because she had never told them about her and Harvey's one night together and subsequent 12 years of pining and denying their feelings for one another.
They were surprised when she told them, but not shocked—which caused Donna to contemplate that maybe they knew more than they were letting on.
She shook her thoughts from her head when Harvey stepped out of the bedroom, looking deliciously handsome and very sexy.
"How do I look?" He asked her as he walked over, buttoning the second button on his pristine wool blend suit jacket.
"Good enough to tempt me to cancel our plans and stay home, so I can do things to you that may be illegal in seven states."
"Well, thankfully, you have a good lawyer," Harvey said with a glint of mischief in his eyes and a smirk that teased his famous Cheshire Cat smile.
Donna sighed. "C'mon, let's get going; Ray's downstairs."
Harvey took her hand and they both exited his apartment, laughing and brimming with anticipation for the night to come.
Donna had observed Harvey single-handedly win over every member of her friend group in attendance.
She thoroughly enjoyed watching him flirt and impress his way into their hearts and by the end of the night, she had zero doubt that Harvey Specter was indeed the best closer in New York.
Heading home from their festivities, Donna couldn't help but notice Harvey's winning mood.
"Well, I'm no expert but I'd say your friends love me." He said, puffing his chest in victory, as if he just won at trial.
Donna giggled; he wasn't wrong. And It didn't take but three minutes into their car ride home before her phone started buzzing with messages from all her friends.
I knew he was hot, but shit D, he's smokin hot and funny AND smart! can I be happy and jealous at the same time?
Okay, you know I love you. But if you break-up with that man, I'm coming for him. So what if he's straight.
Girl. About time this happened! I was ready to call Harvey myself and tell him to open his fucking eyes. Also, he's hot. I know you two didn't last this long without fucking at least once. I need all the tea. Next week, we are going out and you're telling me everything. I love you!
Tell Harvey I'm in love with you both and I can't wait to see you again.
I love him, D, but I love you more and I can tell you both are so happy! Congrats. Hugs and kisses always.
Donna was still reading her messages when Harvey squeezed her thigh. "Well, how'd I do?" He asked her.
Donna smiled.
"According to everyone, I'd say you passed with flying colors." She turned the phone toward him. "Read for yourself," she said, handing him her phone.
She watched as her handsome, overly cocky fiancé's face light up as he read the messages Donna had received from her friends. One by one, he laughed as he scrolled.
"Ohhh? Now that's a first," Harvey said, pointing to her friend Daniel's message.
"It's not the first Harvey. It's just the first that you know about."
He shifted in his seat, facing her straight on as best he could in the back of the car, raising one eyebrow.
"Wait, what?"
Donna giggled. "When I was just your girl Friday, I had many inquiries on whether you ventured on both sides of the court."
"Really? Huh?" He said, returning to a normal seated position—a sly grin across his face. "It's nice to know that everyone appreciates my handsome features."
"Oh, brother, you're ridiculous." She said, taking her phone from his hand and placing it back in her purse.
He laughed and grabbed her hand and she interlaced her fingers between his.
"It must have been my charm, good looks and this tie," he said after a few seconds of silence.
"About that tie."
"What about it?"
"I'm looking forward to removing it and using it," she said.
"Is that so?" He said with gravel in his voice that sent warmth throughout her body. Harvey let go of her hand and placed it on her thigh, begging for entrance under her dress.
"Not yet, Mr. Specter," she said teasingly and Harvey whined.

As soon as the elevator doors closed, their hands and lips were all over each other and when Harvey's hand found its way under her dress, he growled with pleasure when he realized she wasn't wearing any underwear.
"Ohhh, Donna. You're not playing fair," he whispered against her skin between sloppy wet kisses.
In the form of a dare, she said, "And when has that ever stopped you?" Her own hands were fervently working at untucking his white dress shirt from his suit pants.
Harvey never backed down from a dare.
He wasn't going to wait until they made it to his floor. He pivoted on his heels and pressed the stop button of the penthouse elevator, then, in one swift movement, he turned her around, her back facing him. He hiked up her dress, teasing the fabric just above her ass.
"Grab the railing, Donna," he instructed her with a voice so needy and gruff that it even surprised him. She whined in response, bracing herself with her hands. He pushed his body flush against hers. His body was on fire and the ever-growing pressure in his pants told him his dick was hard. He took his time—one hand palmed and teased at her already wet center. Donna's hips jerked as his fingers lightly brushed over her smooth folds.
"You feel so good."
And Donna only hummed her reply. He positioned his arm around her waist, causing her to bend forward, giving him better access to the bounty between her legs. He pushed two fingers inside her warm center, slowly twirling and moving his fingers in and out of her. Harvey could feel her marshmallowy walls contract with every thrust of his digits. And he wanted nothing more than to feel her crumble around him.
"Come on, baby girl." It was the only time he used a pet name. He knew it drove her crazy.
Shit, it drove him crazy too.
"Ohhhh, Harvey," She yelled his name like a pledge and his dick twitched. But this was for her; his time would come.
Donna white-knuckled the metal railing as he continued working her closer and closer to her edge. Harvey knew she needed one more push, so he carefully unwrapped his arm around her waist and moved it up her stomach, palming one of her breasts through her dress with his hand. His forearm supported her torso, and his thigh pushed between her legs as his groin grinded against her ass—all the while his fingers continued to move inside her.
And then he felt it—her warm walls collapsing and tightening around his digits—and it took everything in him not to come with her because of the way her body jerked and the way she yelled out his name.
A hushed Donna slipped past his teeth. It was all he managed as he slid his fingers out of her swollen center. They were out of breath and when he pushed the stop button again, causing the elevator to resume motion, she turned to face him.
Tugging at his tie. "Harvey Specter, you have no idea what's waiting for you when I get you inside that apartment."
She was slowly undoing his silk neckwear and when she slid it out of his collar, he groaned in anticipation.
"I will be using this," she said in a way that caused his breath to hitch.
The elevator doors opened, and together, arm in arm, they rushed across the hall and into his apartment to finish what they started.
