Hey guys before I start this chapter, I wanna quickly address two things:
1. Some of you guys made notice that I changed Tyler's name to Tyson in the first two chapters. That is because Tyler was supposed to be Tyson but I accidently named him wronged when I wrote the first two chapters. Tyson's creator informed me of the screw up and I changed it as a result. So from now Tyler is Tyson and hopefully that won't confuse anyone going forward.
2. I want always get input from you guys as this fic goes on so that I can feel like I am doing yours character's justice. So if anyone of you guys want your character's to catch a new Pokemon or evolve one of their current ones, you just let me know.
Ok with that said, enjoy the chapter!
There a certain rumor going around the Trainer's Academy and if you have been here long enough then you might have heard.
If you go to the Jirachi statue near the Trainer Courses facilities and make a wish to it then it will come true, in fact some say that Jirachi might even visit you themselves.
Of course it is only a rumor, and no one is actually sure if it actually is true but some people are willing to try.
Like the girl who was currently in front of the statue right now.
Shion was currently praying her heart out to the Jirachi statue while Hayacinth, her Leafeon stood guard ready and willing to stop anyone who was going to disturb Shion during her moment of faith.
Shion had never been the most confident person around, but she was hoping on the first day of classes she would at least be able to handle herself.
"Shion!" an energetic voice called out to her.
Shion soon opened as she saw her roommate, Robyn running towards her with her partner Pokemon, Artoria the Corvisquire following her dutifully.
The two of them had met yesterday around the afternoon, Shion arrived in the dorm and was the first one there so she had time to settle in and decorate her part of the dorm with her Pokemon.
Robyn had come in later apparently deciding to watch a Pokemon Battle between two trainers that she had taken a interest in.
Anyways the two of them had gotten to talking and managed to get along pretty well with Shion learning that Robyn was from Galar and that her first Pokemon had been her Rookidee.
Robyn and Artoria soon stopped in front of her, clearly out of breath but also having energetic smiles on their faces.
"Shion, it is time to get moving! Class is about to start soon!" Robyn with her usual energetic smile on her face.
"Ok, Hayacinth let's go." Shion said looking to her partner Pokemon.
The two of them quickly made their way back to their dorms to grab both their Pokemon and their backpacks as they made their way to their first class. On the way, both of them were talking about their expectations for the class.
"I hope the Professor is someone who is passionate about battling like I am! It would get me even more pumped about the class!" Robyn said energetically as Artoria agreed as she gently nuzzled her trainer.
"I don't, I can't handle too much energy in the morning. You are already quite enough." Shion said as Hayacinth agreed with her trainer.
"Oh come on! You know you like my energy!" Robyn said smiling.
Shion chose not to answer that as the two of them made their way to lecture hall. There the two of them could see dozen of students filing in with their respective Pokemons ready for the class. Suddenly Shion's blood froze as she saw Kenan talking with an unknown guy as they both took a seat.
She had been kicking herself for awkward she had been towards him before the orientation meeting and had wanted to make it up towards him, but now wasn't the right time.
Suddenly the bell saved her as everyone began to take their seats and the professor walked in.
He seemed to be a lanky, middle-aged man with withering hairline. Her build wasn't fairly impressive and his eyes had bags under them. Underneath his coat, the students could see a single Pokeball as his belt indicating his partner Pokemon as he began speaking.
"Good morning class, welcome to the Trainer Course here at Pokemon Trainer's Academy. I am Nikandr Hartley, the professor that teaches the freshman students of this course. I am sure many of you have individual goals you want to reach, but you all are united by one desire."
Professor Hartley soon glared at the class.
"The desire to get stronger." he plainly said.
A uncomfortable silence passed over the class as the truth was stated before them.
"Now don't be ashamed, that is in fact an admirable goal to have, any trainer should want to get stronger with their Pokemon at their side. But it is important to remember that you shouldn't lose yourself and the bond you have with your Pokemon in pursuit of that strength. That strength should come naturally from the bond you and your Pokemon share." Professor Hartley said.
This put the class more at ease as Professor Hartley soon gave a mischievous smirk.
"Now I know you would probably seem bored with a typical beginning lecture… that is why I am going to make the first class of this course fun. For the rest of class, you will be having Pokemon battles with your peers! I want to see what level of strength you are all at."
The class cheered as they ran outside to start battling.
Robyn soon grabbed Shion's hand and dragged her to a battlefield wanting to battle her ever since they first met yesterday.
Shion didn't mind, in fact she wanted the same thing as Robyn as she took the opposite side of her on the battlefield.
Professor Hartley had instructed them to have one-on-one battles, just so he could test their current level of strength.
"Alright I know who I am choosing for this battle, Blair come on out!" Robyn said as she sent out her Arrokuda.
Shion smiled as she knew she was guaranteed to have the type advantage in this battle.
"Now Hayacinth, I choose you!" Shion yelled as she sent out her Leafeon.
The two Pokemon squared each other up as they battle began.
"Alright I will start first, Blair use Peck!" Robyn said.
The fish-like Pokemon soon moved with amazing speed and used the super-effective move on the Grass-type Eeveelution.
"Hayacinth stay strong and use Razor Leaf." Shion commanded to her Pokemon.
Hayacinth endured the Peck and saw a opening before sending razor-sharp leaves at the fish Pokemon dealing super effective damage.
"Now follow up with Leaf Blade." Shion said.
Hayacinth's leafs soon became razor-sharp as she went to strike at Blair, but at the last minute Robyn commanded Blair to use Aqua Jet as a veil of water soon covered her as met the Leaf Blade showing their strength to be about equal.
"Blair, now use Agility." Robyn said.
Blair soon moved incredibly fast as her speed increased making Shion more wary of the fish Pokemon.
"Keep your eye on Blair and then use Leach Seed!" Shion said.
Hayacinth kept her eye opened and when she saw her chance fired the Leach Seed at Blair, but thanks to the increased in her speed Blair was able to dodge the Leach Seed before being commanded by Robyn to use Bite.
The jaws of Blair soon latched onto Hayacinth making her cry out in pain as she struggled to let go of the Water-type.
"Use Razor Leaf to shake off Blair!" Shion commanded hoping it would work.
Hayacinth soon gritted her teeth and used Razor Leaf as she got the Water-type off her but it is clear that she was using all of her strength to do so as she was exponentially tired.
"Now it is our chance to finish this! Blair use Aqua Jet!"
Soon the Rush Pokemon covered herself in a veil of water and made her way to the Eeveelution making direct contact with Haycinth and immediately knocked her out making Robyn the winner.
As Robyn celebrated her victory, Shion rushed to her partner and asked if she was ok. Hayacinth licked her though she looked a bit sad to have failed Shion in this battle.
"Hey don't be sad, that is why we are here: to get stronger together." Shion said as those words lifted Hayacinth's spirits as Robyn and Blair came over to her.
"Wow! That was an awesome battle! You two certainly kept me on my toes during the entire battle. I really want to battle you again someday!" Robyn said excitedly.
Shion thanked her and got up when suddenly a huge explosion erupted from the other said of the battlespace making both girls wonder what had happened.
At the same time as Robyn and Shion's battle, Kenan and Rex were about to battle themselves. Kenan was deciding which of Rex's Pokemon he wanted to face.
"Come on, all of my Dark-types can kick butt so this isn't really a tough decision." Rex said whining a bit.
Weiss once again giggled at her trainer's impatience as Kenan was about to point out his Gyarados wasn't a Dark-type when a mysterious voice interrupted him.
"I'll battle you and I can battle your Sneasel if you want." the voice said.
Both Kenan and Rex soon turned to see a mysterious boy with a Jolteon next to him. Physically he looked like he was around both of their ages but his voice led them to believe he was much much older.
"Um sure, can I get a name dude?" Rex asked the mysterious trainer.
The mysterious trainer soon looked him dead in the eyes and said "Kazuma. That is my name."
Soon Kazuma and Rex took opposite sides of battlefield as their Pokemon did as well.
"We will start things off, Weiss use Quick Attack!" Rex commanded.
Weiss soon shot forth in a amazing display of speed but with a quick nod from his eyes, Kazuma's Jolteon seemingly dodge it fast.
"Double Kick Jolteon." Kazuma said plainly.
And with the same blinding speed, Jolteon got behind Weiss and landed a super effective Double Kick leaving Weiss reeling in pain.
Rex told Weiss told calm down but suddenly Jolteon appeared before Weiss with its amazing speed once again.
"Finish this Jolteon, Thunder Fang." Kazuma said.
Jolten's mouth soon charged up with electricity as he bit Weiss shocking her to her core and causing a huge explosion. When the smoke cleared it was shown that Weiss was knocked and Jolteon didn't even have a scratch on them.
"Well looks like I win." Kazuma said with a smile as he and his Jolteon to walk off as Rex went to Weiss to see if she was ok, which she was.
Kenan soon stared at the retreating Kazuma in amazement and a little of fear.
"Just who was he and were did he come from?" Kenan thought as the first day of the Trainer Course classes came to a end.
