Kenan sighed. He checked his phone for the opponent his was battling in the third round.

After seeing a multitude of battles beforehand, he had gotten a good idea of what to expect from his own battle in this round.

He soon checked his opponent: Ava Prescott. From what he had heard about her, she was a fairly component trainer. Especially for someone who had decided to enroll in the Breeder's Course.

The fact she made it to the third round of the tournament was proof enough of her skills. So he was looking for anything he could use against her in the battle.

As he was doing his research, he felt a pair of wings wrap themselves around him. He soon turned around and saw Stella, his Braviary do that as she gave out a lucky caw and soon nuzzled him in the face.

"Hey Girl, are you doing well?"

Stella nodded as she flew a bit away from the chair before letting out another happy caw indicating she was ready for the battle as well.

Kenan smiled at that as he soon recalled Stella and went to prepare to for the battle that was ahead of him, as he did that he soon exited his dorm and went to the stadium that was hosting his battle. On the way however, he saw a boy around his age and height soon as he was arguing with a stadium official.

"What do you mean that my ticket isn't being recognized!? I literally bought it two weeks in advance! I swear something has to be going on!"

Kenan soon frowned hearing that the poor guy couldn't get into the stadium as he ran up to him.

"Hey, what is going on?"

"Can you believe this? I bought my ticket online for this battle about two weeks ago but the official says he can't recognize it for some reason!"

Kenan soon asked to see his phone, and soon the boy gave it to him. Looking around, he saw that the boy's phone was in airplane mode which is why the ticket wasn't showing up. Turning off airplane mode, he gave it back to the boy and soon his ticket was recognized and was let inside the stadium.

"Wow I didn't know I left it in Airplane Mode, thanks for switching it off for me."

"No problem, my name is Kenan and yours is?"

"My name is Chris, nice to meet you."

At the same time, Ava was in her locker room getting ready for her battle as one of her Pokemon came out.

It was Blair, her Galarian Linonne. Blair soon looked up to her and licked her face. Of course she was ready for another battle and another chance to show off what she and the rest of her teammates could do.

"Don't worry, today we are going to shock the world."

Ava soon recalled Blair as she took a deep breath and headed out to the stadium.

"Good Afternoon ladies and gentleman, I am always happy to welcome you back to the third qualifying round of the Pokemon Trainer's Academy Monarch Invitational Tournament. And this battle is quite special as joining me for commentary as a guest is the World Champion himself, Ash Ketchum!" Freddy George Jr said with his usual smile.

The crowd soon roared as Ash soon smiled waving to the crowd before he sat down near Freddy George Jr and took a mike in his hand.

"Thanks for having me on Freddy, I got to tell you, I am looking forward to seeing a spirited battle between these two students here today."

"Indeed we do have a spirited battle in store for us today as we introduce the students. First up, he is a man who needs no introduction, the strategy and power he and his Pokemon possess appears to be superhuman, hailing from Undella Town, it is Kenan Fox!"

Kenan soon made his way out from his side of the battlefield as he soon took his spot on the his side.

"Ad for his opponent, words cannot describe the ferocity she and her Pokemon bring to the competition. While she may be a Breeder Course student, she has the passion and heart of a Trainer Course. Hailing from Motostoke, it is Ava Prescott!"

Ava soon ran out looking excited as she stared down Kenan, but as she did that Kenan thought back to what him and Chris talked about before he came out of the locker room, however for him he needed to push that out of his mind for now as soon the battle was about to begin.

"Trainers this will be a three-on-three battle with both side being able to substitute their Pokemon during the battle. The battle will be over when one sides' Pokemon is unable to battle. Is that clear?"

Soon both Kenan and Ava nodded as their battle began.

Meanwhile, as Kenan and Ava's battle was happening, Serena was making her way to the stadium so she could be their for Ash when she suddenly saw someone yelling on their phone before hanging up and looking frustrated.

Against her better judgment, she went over to the man and spoke.

"Hello, are you ok?"

The man, who turned out to be Colon soon looked up to Serena and gave her a small smile.

"Yeah I will be fine, I just got off the phone with my boyfriend and well let's just say things aren't going well for us right now."

Serena felt bad for him but she debated on whether or not she should get involved in his personal life.

But before she could decide, the guy soon walked up the hill and soon appeared close to her. The guy had slightly pale green hair, with red eyes that seemingly unnerved Serena. His pale skin seemed cool against the autumn weather as cheeks started to reddened against the upcoming cold.

Serena soon noticed he wasn't wearing a jacket, just a black t-shirt and some weird contraption on his wrist that she could recognize as well as his Pokemon who were all in their Pokeballs on his belt.

"Well I am heading to the stadium, do you wanna walk with me?" Serena asked him as she went out on a limb here.

The young man smiled as he responded.

"Sure, it would be my pleasure." He said.

Soon both of them soon walked to the stadium, on the way she learned that his name was Colon Utrano, he was from the Unova Region and that he was a trainer traveling around the world and planning on completing the Pokemon Leagues though Gary had invited him to see the tournament and potentially have a exhibition battle with Ash.

"Really, Ash didn't tell me about that." Serena said a bit confused.

"To be fair, I don't think Ash knows. I have been trying to get him to agree to it but I haven't been able to talk to him so far, which is why I am glad that I ran into you."

Serena blushed at that but she quickly shook off her embarrassment and told Colon she could get him that meeting with Ash.

Colon soon smiled sinisterly.

"How lovely."
