It was a quiet night, which you wouldn't exactly expect from the Pokemon Trainer's Academy especially with what had been going on recently.
But the excessive celebrations soon came to a end as the only chatter was left in the commons area.
Kenan had never been the one for drinking excessively but after what he and his friends had accomplished, he felt that it was warranted.
"Three cheers for Kenan, Tyson and Shion for accomplishing what the rest of us sorry asses couldn't do and making it into the Victory Tournament!"
Rex was soon pouring soda and cider to all of them as he twirled around and nearly fell before being caught by Kenan and settled down.
"Well Rex is certainly taking this a bit too far but congrats to all you guys for making it in." Ema said as she drank her cider.
"Thanks Ema, though I am wondering where Robyn is? I know she wouldn't miss a celebration like this. Is she really not feeling well?"
Shion soon sighed knowing the reason that Robyn wasn't 'feeling well' was because of her but she wasn't ready to deal with right now and just wanted to celebrate with her friends.
Soon however, a familiar face in Kasumi soon came over to them with a smile.
"Hey guys, congrats on making to the Victory Tournament!" Kasumi said to them as Kenan soon smiled and hugged her fiercely.
"Thanks, I assume that you also made it in based on how you are smiling?" Kenan asked as he drank his soda+cider drink combo.
"Yep, though the opponent I battled in the final qualification round gave me a real run for my money." Kasumi said smiling before bringing out Chun Li who gave them a simple smile and soon joined the other's Pokemon.
Kenan soon chuckled at her and soon went to ask her if she knew if Kazuma had also qualified for the Victory Tournament. Kasumi didn't say anything but soon pulled out her phone and showed Kenan a video of Kazuma and his Jolteon completing a three-round sweep against Hikaru before wordlessly walking away before he was even announced as the winner.
"Damn."
"He is strong Kenan and he is gunning for you, so I need you to be on the lookout. I don't know about the other three trainers who made it in the Victory Tournament, but I am sure that they will tell us that soon enough."
Kenan nodded as Rex soon hugged Tyson from behind and said he was lonely and needed someone to cuddle as Tyson try to get him off and Shion soon giggled at their predicament.
Kenan soon laughed at the moment, he never imagined himself in this type of environment at the beginning of the semester but he wouldn't have it any other way.
Soon he saw Lyna entering the common area and waved to her, she soon ran to him and greeted him with a kiss on the lips before smiling at him.
"Hey babe, congrats on making the Victory Tournament, good luck with all the upcoming battles and win them all!" Lyna said to him.
Kenan soon thanked her as their little group soon began chatting a lot more before the first sign of snow soon appeared. A sign of the changing seasons as things soon progressed at the academy.
New friendships, romances and even exciting battles were on the horizon.
If only they knew however what their future held in store for them… then perhaps they wouldn't have been so excited, or would they?
Perhaps it was all in the hands of fate itself then.
Marshall hated the snow.
He hated how wet it is, he hated how cold it often seemed to get and he definitely hated that crunching sound it made whenever he stepped on it as it drove him insane.
But just for tonight he could handle it as his Morpeko soon sat on his shoulder munching away at his snack while he sat down on a bench and soon sighed.
Soon he saw Colon making his way towards him as he also sat on the bench and simple took out a pack of crackers and began to eat them.
To the normal untrained person, they may have just looked like normal strangers but in fact their connection ran much deeper than people first assumed.
"So what do you think? Have been able to root out any promising trainers?" Colon asked Marshal.
Marshal sighed as he provided images of Kenan, Tyson and Shion.
"These three are the highest rated in my opinion, it just so happens that all three of them made it to the victory tournament lucky enough for us." Marshal said to him as he took a cracker from Colon.
Colon frowned at that but soon let it slide as he asked what he thought of their skills as trainers.
"Pretty good, they would probably lose to any of the admins but I am sure it would be a hard-fought battle. That being said you really want to recruit them."
"It would be wise to add more people to our ranks especially now that the Pokemon League is searching for us after what happened in Galar."
Marshal soon rolled his eyes as he thought that Cassidy was a rank amateur for his failure in Circhester but he didn't bring that up to Colon.
"Well I also made the victory tournament so hopefully I can get more information on them three beforehand." Marshal said to him as Colon soon got up.
"Do that and when you think you got what you need, get out of there quietly. We don't need another admin being chased down by the police."
Colon soon wished him well in the victory tournament before walking off.
Marshal soon looked up to the sky and saw the thing he so vehemently hated falling down around him. His Morpeko soon looked concerned for him before he calmed him down.
"Don't worry Morpeko, it is all a part of the game. Now let's go, we got a job to do."
