Chapter 30: The Last Chimera part 2

Stiles was walking down the hall like a man on a mission as Virgil was a step behind him, pissed.

"Where do you think you're going?" Virgil asked after him.

"Look, I get that you want answers, but I don't have time to play 20 questions right now."

Stiles reached the elevator and hit the button and his eyes flew to the floor indicator on the side. He saw that he was on the 7th floor and the elevator was currently on the 3rd.

"What's the sudden rush?"

For Stiles, the rush was that he recalled the last memory he could remember clearly. When he was trying to get through a mountain ash barrier where his father was trapped and hurt.

"Ahh," Stiles groaned, keeping his eye on the indicator. The elevator started moving but it wasn't coming up. It was heading down and stopped at the lobby. "Forget this," Stiles impatiently huffed before he took off for the stairs.

"Whoa, wait a minute," Virgil called out.

"My dad might not have a minute," he spat back at him.

Virgil deflated as he stared back. "Sheriff Stilinski?"

Stiles then kept thundering down the stairs before he suddenly stopped at the fourth floor landing. He picked up a familiar scent. "No way," he muttered.

Stiles then moved to head off into the 4th floor hallways, with Virgil asking where he is going. Stiles followed the scent and found someone heading right for one of the doors, fumbling with his keys. He couldn't believe it.

"Zach!" he called out, startling the chimera and making him drop his keys.

He then turned and froze at the sight of him. "Stiles!" He then looked over behind him and his eyes narrowed in confusion. "Virgil?"

Virgil widened his eyes. "Zach?"

Stiles looked between the two of them. "Wait, how do you guys know each other?"

"You two know each other?" asked Zach.

"Both of you know each other?" Virgil asked, pointing his finger between the two of them. "What's going on here?"

Stiles shook his head. "Zach, what are you doing here?"

"Uh, I live here." He then narrowed his eyes at him. "By the way Stiles, thanks for just leaving me at the station all night after you took my car. Which I somehow managed to find, with the engine running. My car ran dry on me about twenty minutes in. By the time I managed to push it to the nearest gas station, the sun was up. I only just got back."

"Wait, you found your car. So you were there, at the abandoned house?"

"You mean the creepy place those Dread Doctors had me locked up in their basement cage, yeah. Great place to leave it by the way."

"How did you know to go there?"

Zach blinked. "I...I don't know. I just had this, feeling and the next thing I knew, I was there. And I don't know why but I went inside and I found this all there."

He then revealed a small plastic bag. He opened it up to reveal pieces of torn up clothing. Stiles' clothes.

"Wait, you were in the basement? Did you see anyone else there?" he asked, almost desperately.

Zach shook his head. "No, there was nobody. I did find quite a bit blood though, and really big footprints. They looked like paw prints, and they were made in blood."

Stiles' breathing began to quicken. Did he do something to his father while he had been...changed? "I have to go try and find my father."

"He's at the hospital," Zach said before he could move more than a step out of there.

Stiles stopped and looked back at him. "What? How do you know that?"

Zach then reached into the bag and pulled out Stiles' phone. Stiles took a moment and could make out his wallet and his keychain in the bag as well. He must've left them all behind when he went through his shift.

"You've been getting a whole texts and messages over the last few hours from a bunch of different people. They've all been saying to come to hospital, and your father is there."

Stiles went and took it from him and scrolled through them. Zach was right. There were must've been over twenty messages. A lot of them from Scott, some from his mom and the hospital. Even one from Parrish.

"I've got to get there." He then looked over at Zach.

"What, no," he said shaking his head and backing away from him. "Forget it, you're not taking my car again."

"Zach," Stiles growled.

Stiles was starting to feel a real urge to rip this guy apart well up inside of him. To release his rage on the one that tried to keep him from getting to his dad and rip him apart. He could smell the fear starting to pour from Zach as the young man started to pale. The chimera backed a step like an animal in path of a predator.

"I'll take you," said Virgil, making the two of them look over at him.

"What?" Stiles said, feeling himself settle.

"Hey, the Sheriff is one of the few people I actually like in this godforsaken town. So, if you need to get to him, I'll take you."

Liam and Mason made their way into the hospital and Liam asked for his stepdad to be called down to the lobby.

"Why do you want your stepdad to be called down here? Why not go up to his level and see him?" asked Mason.

Liam let his gaze drift down to his shoes. "Scott and his mom...their car was in the parking lot."

Mason nodded. Enough was said. The two of them waited for about five minutes before they spotted Liam's stepdad coming down the hall and they went over to him.

"Liam? Mason? What are the two of you doing here so early? Is everything okay?"

"Um...hey, I wanted to ask, have there been any new dead bodies brought here since last night?"

His stepdad gave him a look. "Well, there was one that was brought in. But, still alive though."

"Who?" Liam asked tensely.

"Sheriff Stilinski," he answered.

Liam's eyes widened. "Stiles' dad? What happened to him?"

"Looks like an animal attack. Though what animal could've done it, we still don't know yet."

"Is he okay?" asked Mason.

"We're...not sure. Listen, we've been trying to get in touch with his son but no one's had any luck reaching him. You're both friends with him, right?"

"Yeah?" said Liam, not sure of his own answer.

Before yesterday, it wouldn't have been a question. But with everything that's happened, between between himself and Scott, and with Stiles being kicked out of the pack, Liam felt confused.

His stepdad narrowed his eyes a bit before he started walking off and the two boys followed after him. "Well, if you two happen to see or hear from him, could you let him know to come to the hospital."

Liam shared a look with Mason before he sped up a bit to be at his stepdad's side. "Sure dad, but that's it? Just the sheriff. No more bodies?"

"No, there haven't been any other bodies, thank god."

"So nobody named Hayden?"

That made the man stop and give him another look before turning to Mason. "Mason, please take him home. It is 6:00 in the morning."

"Dad, you're sure that there have been no other dead bodies?"

Liam's stepdad seemed to have had enough. "Both of you, home, now," he ordered.

"Sure," Mason said with a nod. Liam's stepdad then went off. "We're not going home, are we?"

Liam shook his head. "No."

"Look, we both know where Hayden's body is. If you want to find her, then we have to find the Nemeton."

He nodded. "Okay, then let's find the Nemeton." With that Liam headed off for the front door.

Mason sighed. "I really got to learn to shut up." He then went on after him.

Scott was standing outside the Sheriff's room, looking in through the window of his door at him. He then moved to lean his back into the wall as he looked over at his mom talking with one of the nurses about the Sheriff's medical insurance. She sounded worn out and tired. Scott knew that she had been running raged ever since he'd called her for help with Hayden at the animal clinic early yesterday. Then she had to also deal with what happened to him and now there was all this going on with the Sheriff and Stiles missing. He didn't know how long it had been since his mom had gotten any sleep.

As the guilt welled up in him, Scott thrust his hands into his pockets but cringed when something poked him in one of his fingers. He then pulled out the somewhat balled up pendant that he had found in Stiles' room. As Scott took another closer look at it, he couldn't help but think that this thing might just be actual silver. The part where he seemed to have poked himself kind of looked a bit like an arrow's head. There seemed to be engravings on other parts of it but one thing he could make out for certain was the Argent family symbol pressed on what seemed to be the flattest part of it. He moved to try and fix and unfold the thing when he started to hear a voice calling out. A very familiar one.

"I'm looking for my dad! Where's the Sheriff's room?!"

Melissa looked up and breathed a sigh of relief when she saw Stiles coming down the end of the hall with a young man that she didn't recognize. "Oh thank god," she muttered as she stepped around from the nurse she was just speaking to. "Stiles!"

Stiles saw Scott's mom and he ran to her. "My dad? Is he okay?"

Liam's stepfather made his way over. "Stiles, your dad, he's..."

"He's what?" he asked impatiently. "Where is he?"

But neither got a chance to say as he picked up his scent and turned his head to a set of double doors and threw himself into them. He froze when he saw Scott and the two of them laid eyes on each other for the first time since the night outside the animal clinic.

Stiles cringed as he felt a sudden pang in his heart, like he had just been stabbed in it. It was sudden but quick, lasting roughly a moment. Stiles was barely able to get his hand to his chest before the pain vanished and he felt normal again. Stiles let out a hard breath and moved for Scott.

In that same moment, Scott had felt something completely different. Nothing. Literal nothing. Not joy, guilt, fear or relief at seeing Stiles again, but no emotion at all. After a moment, Scott seemed to be able to let himself feel again and what he felt was relief that Stiles seemed okay, given how no one had been able to find him for almost a day. Relief that vanished as soon as Stiles grabbed at him.

Stiles had taken Scott by the cuffs of his jacket and thrown him to the floor. He then moved to furiously slam Scott's head into the floor. "Where were you Scott, huh? You trusted him, so where the hell were you? Tell me!" At that last part, Stiles moved to lift and slam Scott's back and head into the floor.

Scott tried to push Stiles off of him but he couldn't find any strength to even try. All he was feeling was pain pushing its way to every corner of his body from the wound in his chest. It got more intense when the shock of being thrown into the floor made his wound start to burn in his chest. Stiles didn't seem to stop shaking and yelling at Scott even when Liam's stepfather and Virgil move to try and pull him off.

"Enough! Get off him!" Liam's stepfather yelled as he grabbed at him.

Virgil also grabbed at his arm but Stiles fought against their hold and he stayed firmly on his attack. Scott grit his teeth through the pain and started to try and push Stiles off. He brought one hand to try and push at Stiles' chest while his other hand try to pull at one of Stiles' hands on his shirt. Scott pushed harder and Stiles gasped as he felt a sudden burn pain at his hand. It made him release Scott and lean back, giving his handlers the chance to pull him to his feet and away from Scott.

"Stop it! Both of you!" Melissa yelled as she quickly positioned herself in the middle of the them.

Stiles was fuming and baring his teeth as he glared over at Scott as he was held back by Virgil and Liam's stepdad. His eyes fell to his hurt hand to see that the skin was a raw red and was bleeding somewhat. He then looked over at Scott as he was dangling a silver chain in his hand. Stiles narrowed his eyes as he recognized it as Argents' pendant, the one he had crumbled and left in his room.

"Cool it Stiles," Virgil stiffly said into his ear. "The Sheriff, remember?" Stiles gasped as he looked over at Virgil and a blue glow flashed across his eyes.

"Okay," he said before clearing his throat. "Okay, okay." He was then let go and Stiles moved to back up a bit. Liam's stepdad let him go but Virgil still had a good hold on him. "I'm alright," he said to him.

Scott narrowed his eyes over at Virgil and he moved to let Stiles' shoulder go. He recognized him as the one that had brought in the chimera Zach to the hospital. What was he doing with Stiles? He hissed as he got another sting from his chest wound. "Your dad isn't the only one who got hurt?" he grunted.

Stiles then noticed the blood stain on Scott's shirt but he found that he didn't care. "Oh, you'll heal," he said unsympathetically.

That made Scott flinch a bit before he quickly moved to cover the spot of blood. "I wasn't talking about me."

Stiles' face instantly softened up a bit. Virgil however was looking between the two with calculating eyes. To him, this felt a little like dejavu.

Soon enough, Stiles, Scott, Melissa and Parrish were all in the morgue as they were catching each other up on everything that had happened since the Supermoon first rose into the sky. Virgil was made to wait outside and he was currently looking through the door window at where the Sheriff was still lying immobile on the bed. Stiles patiently listened in on everything they had to tell him and his face stiffened. Not just his dad, but Lydia, Liam and Scott too. Theo had really screwed around with every one of his friends all in the span of one night, and he had a feeling that he had tried to do the same with Malia, literally. If he didn't want to tear him apart before.

"Stiles, why is Virgil Edelman with you?" asked Parrish.

"Yeah, and where have you been?" Scott pressed on. "We've been looking for you everywhere. We found your jeep over at the mechanics garage, the one at the north of town. The place was a wreck and there was fresh blood, a lot of blood, everywhere."

Stiles quickly picked up how scared and nervous Scott had gotten. "Are you trying to ask if it was me, Scott?" That made Scott flinch back a bit.

"Stiles," Melissa said sharply, making him back down a bit but still have his eyes narrowed at her son. "Please, just tell us what happened."

He took a moment before he settled down and began talking about how his jeep had finally broke down so he had walked all the way to the shop because of his dead phone. How he had met with Virgil and who had towed his jeep for him and helped him get in touch with Malia. He then told them about finding Zach and what he helped him learn about Theo before he tried to warn the others and managed to make it to the school but got blocked by Theo who told him about his dad. He then explained how he got to the cellar but had been blocked by mountain ash.

"Mountain ash? But wait, your dad got out. How did you get passed the ash line?" asked Scott.

"Yeah, and how did your dad make it to the hospital?" asked Parrish.

Stiles blinked. "Uh, I don't know. Everything after that is a blur."

"You blacked out?" Scott said surprised. He couldn't remember Stiles blacking out anything since that first time they ended up in the woods together after they were first bitten.

"I think it's probably because...I changed."

"Changed? What do you mean you changed?" Melissa asked him.

Stiles didn't answer her. Instead, he just looked over at Scott. After that, Scott completely understood.

"It happened, didn't it? You became the-" he stopped there.

"The Beast, yeah," Stiles finished for him. Melissa seemed lost and confused while Parrish just stared at him. He then cleared his throat. "But I don't know how I did it or have any control. I don't remember where I went or know how my dad even got out of there. All I know is that I was in that cellar one minute and the next I'm waking up at Virgil's place."

"That's why he here?" asked Parrish.

"No...he says he saw me, shifted."

He then looked down at his shoes while Scott, Parrish and his mother all went to trade concerned looks with each other. Scott knew he shouldn't be surprised, given everything that's happened, but he help but feel...thrown. From the moment he saw Stiles again, he could tell something was different. His friend wasn't person he last saw the other night anymore. He looked the same, but he couldn't feel more different to Scott right now. Even his scent was different from what he remembered.

"Stiles-" he tried.

"Is my dad going to be okay?" Stiles asked, cutting him off. "What about Lydia?"

Melissa sighed before she started talking. "Lydia, right now she's practically catatonic. Whatever Theo did...she's barely reacting to anything."

"Maybe we can do something," he quickly suggested.

But Parrish shook his head. "No, Lydia's mom mom isn't letting anyone in the room to see her except the doctors. Not even me. She blames all of us for what happened to her."

Stiles lowered his gaze. He found that he couldn't blame Lydia's mom. Truthfully, he felt that she might have a point. "And my dad?"

"Stiles," Melissa muttered. "Your dad, physically, he's not too badly hurt. It doesn't look like he suffered too much damage even for a mauling victim."

He took a moment to let out a big gasp of air. From what he remembered in the cellar, his dad seemed like he was in serious trouble. Maybe the adrenaline and tension of the moment made it seem worse than it was. But Stiles quickly grew nervous again as he fully registered everything Melissa just said. "Wait, what do you mean, physically?"

"Well, we don't know why, but his internal organs and systems seem to be slowly failing. His body seems to be suffering from some kind of toxic shock and is breaking itself down but we don't know from what."

"I bet Theo knows what."

He then moved to leave but Scott moved to intercept him.

"Wait, where are you going?"

"To go and talk to him."

"Talk?" Melissa sputtered. "To the boy that attacked your father and nearly killed my son?"

"What makes you think he'll even tell you anything?" Parrish followed in.

"Because he wanted me to find my dad. Since he got here, he's been trying to have some control over me. He'll know what's happening to my dad because he thinks it will help him keep it. He'll come and see me, and I'll be waiting for him."

"Not alone," Scott said, shaking his head.

"Yes alone," Stiles cut in. "Sorry Scott, but Theo thinks he killed you. The last thing we want is for him to know that he didn't barely half a day after. Besides, I'm getting more practice handling things by myself."

He then walked out leaving Scott looking solemnly after him.

Natalie Martin was talking with a psychiatrist as he went and put the transfer forms in front of her that would take Lydia over to Eichen House for proper mental treatment. She was scared as she, like everyone in Beacon Hills, heard some of the dark rumors about that place. The man, Doctor Fenris he called himself, seemed to sense her hesitation.

"It's a whole different place now Ms. Martin," he said, consoling to her. "It's the best for her right now. She'll be safe there."

"She'll be safe there?" she muttered.

"Yes," Fenris said, right before he handed her a pen. "Two signatures."

Jordan had left the morgue to look over at the Sheriff's room to see that Virgil was standing in front of the room. He was staring through the window at the Sheriff with an upset look on his face. The deputy then remembered Stilinski telling him that he had been Virgil's unofficial parole officer when he first came to town and was actually a good kid. He guessed that Virgil really would have real concern for the man right now, outside the fact that he had seen his son turn back from a giant wolf. He made his way over for him, hoping to talk to the young man, when he noticed Lydia's mom off the corner of his eye, signing something before handing it off to a doctor. One he didn't recognize as part of Beacon Memorial staff. He diverted away to go to Natalie instead but not before Virgil had turned and noticed the deputy.

"Ms. Martin, who was that man?" he asked as the doctor slipped away, sending a look his way. He instantly got a bad vibe. "What did you just do?"

"She'll be safe," she muttered, almost like she didn't register he was even there.

Jordan could see that she was still freaked. He left her there and headed back for Virgil but found that he was gone. He guessed that he must've just left while he was talking to Lydia's mom. He took a walk to see if Virgil just went to sit and wait somewhere but he was nowhere to be found. His eyes then diverted up to where there was a security camera and Jordan got a sudden idea.

Barely a second after Jordan left from outside the door, the Sheriff began to stir in his bed.

"Chimera," he coughed out but was muffled by his mask.

Jordan threw himself into the hospital's security and surveillance room where he went and started to access the security feeds of the hospital. He then moved to scroll back the security footage around the entrances and the hospital's loading dock until he stopped when he noticed something on one of the feeds. He played it back and he saw a dark shape make his way onto the screen. It went by quickly before he found it a few seconds later in the feed of the loading dock. It moved to the ambulance entrance to the hospital and dropped something before taking off, on all fours moments before some EMT's came through the doors and then found what it left. The Sheriff. Jordan then moved to rewind the footage again and then froze it just as the shape turned to try and leave the scene.

He kept his sight locked on the image and his eyes narrowed as they emit a fiery orange glow. The glow lasted for a moment before it faded and he seemed to snap back in consciousness and notice heavy movement on one of the other screens. His eyes widened when he saw that it was Lydia being pushed on a stretcher with her mom and a small group of nurses and orderlies. He leapt to his feet and caught them just as they were making it into the loading dock.

"Hey!" he yelled as he ran to them.

An orderly moved to intercept him. "Stay back sir," he said, politely bur sternly.

"Where are they taking her?"

"She's being transferred to Eichen House."

"It's the best place for her," Natalie muttered off, in that same far off but scared tone.

"No, it's not," he insisted as they started loading her into an ambulance. "You can't take her there."

"Fortunately, that is not your decision," said the doctor from before.

He then watched as Natalie moved to join her daughter. "I'm going to find a way to break her out," he said after her. "Even I have to go and break through the walls."

Natalie gave him a worried look before she looked back at her still unresponsive daughter. Jordan mentally tried to reach out for Lydia but his sight of her was cut off when the ambulance doors were closed shut.

Doctor Fenris looked over at him with an almost amused look. "Good luck with that deputy," he smirked before he headed for the vehicle's passenger seat.

As he got in and shut the door behind him, the mirror on the door revealed him to really be Doctor Valack.

The orderly from before took a last look over at the back. "She's a pretty thing, isn't she?" he said amusingly to Valack.

The man stared back at him, unamused. "That pretty thing could shatter your skull with just her voice if someone decided to teach her how," he said sternly.

That made the orderly stiffen up before he moved to start up the ambulance and drive them out of the loading dock. Valack cast a last look to the mirror at Jordan who stayed rooted to the ground, watching as the vehicle took Lydia away and drag her away to a supernatural hell.

Liam and Mason were wandering around the school library, silently taking everything in. The place was a complete wreck and there was even some yellow tape set up at the door. As they walked through the places were some shelves were collapsed and bookcases ruined, Liam started to have flashes his attempts to kill Scott. He could still hear Scott's pleas for him to stop and feel where the sensation of tearing into his skin with his claws on his fingertips.

Mason grabbed the book he was looking for but froze when he noticed Liam staring off at some debris on the ground. "Liam?" he said, snapping him out of it. "I got it." They then went over to a still unbroken table and he started to look for the right map with lines spread about. "Okay, these are ley lines. They're mapped according to telluric currents."

Liam nodded. "Yeah, Stiles said that he and Lydia were looking at the intersections."

Mason found where all the lines seemed to converge. "Which would be here."

"Yeah, but they never found it. They said the Nemeton has to want to be found."

Mason narrowed his eyes. "It's a supernatural tree that has to want to be found in order for you to see it?"

"Yeah."

"That's awesome," he said with a bit of a smile. "Well, we should go and make a copy."

But Liam just went and tore the page right out of the book and headed out of the library. He had to find the Nemeton and see for himself if Hayden was truly dead or not. Mason just stared off at the old, probably expensive book that Liam just defaced for a shocked moment before he moved to close it and go on after him.

Stiles was sitting off at the foot of the stairs in his home as he fumbled around with his fingers, waiting anxiously. He finally lifted his head when he felt someone approaching.

"It's open," he called out.

A moment later, the door knob turned and the door opened to reveal Theo at the other side. He gave Stiles a somewhat cordial looking smile, despite the fact that Stiles was glaring at him.

"Hey Stiles. Can we talk?"

"You want to talk? About what, this?" He then went and threw Scott's bloody and torn shirt from last night at him. "You killed my best friend."

As Theo caught it, he gave it a small look through before he looked back at him. "Let's be honest here Stiles."

For a second, Stiles thought that Theo was onto him. That he knew Scott wasn't dead. But Stiles felt a heat boil up inside him instead of panic. "Honest?" he barked out. "That would definitely be a first from you."

"Was Scott still really your best friend? After all, when I told him my version about you and Donovan, Scott ate it right up without a second thought. I mean, heart rates aside, he didn't suspect or even doubt me. What best friend isn't willing to even fight for his friend?"

At the other side of the Stilinski's backyard fence, Scott was leaning with his back against the wall, listening in on everything. After what Theo had just said, Scott silently sighed to himself and let his head drop a bit.

Stiles' jaw tightened as he maintained his composure. "Like you were willing to try and kill my dad?"

"If I wanted him to die than I wouldn't have told you where you can find him."

"And block me from him with mountain ash?" he asked a little accusingly.

Theo tilted his head a bit. "Well, I did need to stall you and buy myself some time. How did get passed that by the way?" He tilted his head a bit. "You seem different all of a sudden. Even your scent is different."

Stiles stood up. "That's why you mauled him?" he said, disregarding Theo's questions. "To buy time? And you say you didn't want him dead? Then why are the doctors saying his systems are slowly shutting down?" hissed Stiles as he stepped closer to him. "That some toxin's poisoning him and they don't know how to stop it." Stiles narrowed his eyes as he heard Theo's heart jump.

"I'm not the bad guy here, Stiles," said Theo, firmly.

Theo hadn't been the first one to say that to him. "Oh? After what you did to Scott? To Lydia? To Liam? To Malia? Or to Wilson? You're not the bad guy?"

Theo seem to grow more mad. "I'm just a realist. A survivor. If you knew the things that I know."

"Yeah, and what do you know?"

"I know what's coming. I know what the Dread Doctors created. I know what Parrish is."

"Oh, you do?" Stiles said, his tone drowning with doubt and sarcasm. "And what's that?"

"He's a hellhound."

That made Stiles' face fall a bit. Out of all the theories that he had about Parrish, that didn't seem to make his list.

"A hellhound? How do you know that?"

"Lydia, she figured it out. I saw it in her memories."

Stiles quickly regained himself after he remembered what Theo did to yet another of his friends. "Oh you mean, after you went and dug your claws into her and drove her out of her mind?"

"Collateral damage," Theo said, unmoved.

"Collateral damage?" Stiles repeated with a snarl.

"And, if she's right about Parrish, then things around here are going to get a lot worse."

"I don't care."

"You should. Because if your dad does survive, he's not gonna be Sheriff of anything much longer."

Stiles grew angrier with Theo trying to use his dad on him, again. "What's happening to him?" But Theo didn't answer him. He just moved to head out of the front door. Stiles felt his anger surge even and he pounced. "Hey, where do you think you're going!"

He managed to grab onto Theo when he reached just outside the door but a hand went and grabbed his wrist from Theo's right and Stiles cringed as he felt a jolt of pain spread to every corner of his body. The kind of pain that Stiles felt whenever he felt electricity pour and burn all through his body. His eyes widened as they focused on the owner of the hand that grabbed him. It was Josh, the chimera that attacked him on the roof.

"You're dead," he wheezed out through the pain.

"Yeah, not anymore," Josh said flatly.

Josh then snarled and revealed his two rows of shifted fangs at him and the electricity he poured into him seemed to increase, making Stiles groan out as he fell to his knees. Theo then moved to give Stiles a hard uppercut that launched him into the air and had the back of his head slam into a step from his staircase. Stiles' surroundings seemed to blur and the sounds seemed to deafen as he slipped out.

From behind Theo and Josh, Tracy stepped around from the left of the door. "You were right, he was going to retaliate."

Theo gave her a look before turning to look back at Stiles' knocked out form. "Yeah, he has no alpha to yank his chain anymore. Knew I would need some backup. He's not going to be out for long so let's go."

"Why not just kill him now then?" asked Tracy. "Before he wakes up."

"No," Theo sternly said to her, making her stiffen. He then moved to walk out of the house. "We still need him around, for now."

He kept walking off and the two of other chimeras shared a look before they moved to follow after him. From his hiding spot, Scott's eyes widened as he saw both Tracy and Josh walking out of Stiles' house and followed Theo to his truck. Scott waited until the truck had driven off to the end of the block before he moved and left his hiding spot to run into Stiles' house. He then saw Stiles passed out up on the staircase. As he ran to him and caught sight of his face, Scott felt all his emotions leave him and felt nothing. It was just like he felt back at the hospital. And like then, it lasted for a moment before his concern and worry for Stiles came back to him.

As for Stiles, he was staring down a hole in the ground where a coffin was being lowered down it. There was a single rose in his small hands and he moved to let it fall into the grave. He then felt someone come over to him but he didn't let his eyes leave the coffin or the rose that was now on it.

"You still have me," he heard his father's voice say to him. "Stiles?"

He heard his name repeat a few times before he felt something hit his face. Like a small slap to the cheek.

"Stiles?" he heard another voice cry out at him.

He woke up to find Scott leaning down over him. Stiles cringed as he felt a stab in his heart at the sight of him, just like before. The pain lasted a moment before it passed like nothing happened and Stiles moved to get back on his feet, not taking Scott's hand to help him up.

"Where did Theo go?" he groaned.

"He just left, along with Tracy and Josh. What's going on? I thought they were dead."

"They were," huffed Stiles. "Scott, what are you doing here? I said I could handle it."

Scott's eyes narrowed. "You call being knocked out handling it?"

"What if Theo had noticed you?"

"He didn't," Scott cut in. "I made sure I was far enough so he wouldn't but close enough to listen in."

"Well, did you hear his heartbeat when I brought up my dad?"

"Yeah, it jumped. He was surprised. Does this mean it wasn't him who attacked your dad?"

"Oh, he attacked him. That's how he got him in that cellar and then blocked him away with mountain ash. But, it doesn't sound like he was the one that mauled him."

"Then who did?"

Stiles narrowed his eyes. "The only thing that could get passed a mountain ash line without breaking it."

Scott let out a tired sigh. "A chimera."

Without missing another beat, Stiles headed out the door and moved to hop into his father's minivan. He started it up but he could see Scott moving for the passenger door and he quickly moved to lock the door and keep him out. Scott tried to open the door and realized that he had been locked out.

"Stiles," he said, trying to open the door again.

"Yeah, I told you I can handle it myself and I will."

"Stiles, c'mon, you don't even know where to start. All we know is that its another chimera. Do you even know where you're headed?"

"I'll figure it out," Stiles grunted as he moved to start the car and then quickly moved to drive himself out of there. Scott quickly ran off to stand in the front of the van and cut him off. "Scott," Stiles said simply to him.

"You can't do this alone, okay. You need help. You need all of us. I can go and text Liam."

"Liam? The guy just tried to kill you," He quickly pointed out.

Yeah, now that he hearing that out loud, Scott was starting to think that maybe it wouldn't be a good idea for Liam to be in the same room with either him or Stiles so soon. "Then at least let me help."

Stiles tightened his hold on the steering wheel. "Was he telling the truth?"

"What are you talking about?"

"You were listening Scott. I know you heard what Theo said. Was he telling the truth when he said that you didn't even doubt whatever he told you?" Scott just stared at him and didn't say a word. Stiles had his answer. "You just up and believed him."

"So did you," Scott defended. "You trusted him not to say anything."

"I never trusted him. I'm pretty sure I was clear about that from the very beginning," Stiles said, rolling his eyes.

"Look, Theo got to all of us, Stiles."

"You don't even know the whole story."

Scott shook his head. "I don't need to. All that matters right now is your dad. Come on Stiles, we survived an Alpha pack, a dark druid and professional assassins. We can survive Dread Doctors and chimeras too."

Stiles bowed his head as he tried to fight the rush of emotions coming up at him. He was just so upset and hurt with how his own friend was ready to up and believe whatever story that Theo fed Scott about him. But when he looked back up at Scott, he could see that he really wanted to try and help him. Stiles found his eyes letting out a soft blue glow, and Scott quickly flinched and averted his eyes. Suddenly, Stiles felt bitterness and rage and his foot hit the gas peddle. Scott just managed to get out of the way as Stiles zipped passed him.

"Maybe we can't," he heard Stiles mutter as he did.

"Stiles, wait!" he called out as Stiles drove the van into the street and headed off.

Scott tried to run after him but he flinched in pain and moved his hand to his chest, over his wound. He was slightly hunched over as he saw the van disappear down the road and soon out of sight. Scott was sure he was getting through, what happened? And, more importantly, what he was supposed to do now. He didn't have a clue of how to start to find the last chimera, but Stiles apparently did. If he did manage to get a lead, he would be all alone while this chimera is still out there, along with Theo and his apparently not dead chimera pair as well as the Dread Doctors. Stiles was going to need help but it looked like he wasn't going to listen to him. Scott quickly pulled out his phone as he prepared to call Malia. She could help in getting through to him. He then stopped when he scrolled through his contacts and his eyes found another name. One that might just be of help to all of them.

A teenager was currently running through the outskirts of town, trying to put as much distance between him and those...things as much as possible. He made his way into an empty plant junction and quickly ducked in cover as he went to try and catch his breath. He moved his head slightly to look at the entrance and he gasped as he saw the three Dread Doctors steadily making their way inside, heading right for him.

Stiles stomped on down the stairs as he made his way to the basement of the condemned house. The caved in ceiling, which last night had been letting moonlight pour in was now letting in the afternoon sun. Stiles noticed that there was a dark red paw print on the floor. It was big, about as long as his own foot. He then remembered Zach mentioning something about seeing paw prints, in blood. He kneeled and he sniffed the air around it and he found that it was indeed blood. His father's blood. He walked over to the cellar and found that the mountain ash line that had been at the entrance was now gone.

He stepped inside and quickly brought out the light in his phone to look around. Quickly, he spotted the big dark spot on the floor, made from his father's dried blood. Quickly, he spotted more of those paw prints stepping away from the spot and heading out of the room. Was it...him? Had Stiles really shape-shifted, break through the mountain ash line, and then somehow carry his father out and then leave him at the hospital? He knew that Scott had gotten passed an ash line before, just like he had once broken one. He guessed it came from being a True Alpha; could the same be said for being, a beast? But Stiles shook his head to break his mind free from all of it. His dad was still in trouble. He and especially his father couldn't afford him to think about this now. He had to focus on finding the chimera that attacked and poisoned him.

He started moving through every square corner of this room, moving his hands about everywhere, all while sniffing hard into the air. This chimera, he attacked his father here, so then he had to have left some trace of himself here. Something to track him down. His dad's life was at stake, there had to be. A scent or at least a scar to help him learn who he was. Stiles wandered about the place, trying to find something. He managed to pick up leftover traces of Liam, Hayden and even Zach but nothing from anyone else. He sighed out in frustration until he let his eyes go back to the center of the room, where his father laid. Stiles bit the inside of his cheek before he went to kneel over the spot. He closed his eyes and focused before he moved to try and touch it.

Quickly he felt a pull and found himself staring at his father waking up, scared and angry, as he moved to get on his feet while rubbing a bump on his head. He was heading for the way out of the room when he was suddenly surprised by a young man, hardly older than Stiles himself. The guy was filled with rage and fear and moved to pounce at his father, baring his teeth and swiped at his side with his hand. But it all stopped there before Stiles gasped and opened his eyes. The chimera, he had his face and his scent. He quickly left the room and got to the top of the stairs where he managed to pick out the guy's scent from when he left the cellar after the attack. Now he could find him.

Stiles got into the van and tracked the scent as it led him to an old condemned factory. He got out of the van and went inside, where he found that the scent was getting stronger. It brought him to a small alcove and he spotted a small spot of gray on the ground.

"Mercury," he muttered to himself. Stiles then bent over and passed his finger over it and some stuck onto it. "Still kinda damp. He still close," he muttered to himself.

"Then we should get going and catch up to him."

That made Stiles turn to see Scott walking inside the building. Stiles cringed as he a small stabbing feeling hit his heart again and Scott's face fell as all the anxiety and tension about seeing Stiles faded and he felt nothing. For both, the feeling lasted barely over a second before they passed.

Stiles let out a deep and tired breath as he took some steps in his direction. "What are you doing here Scott?"

"We're here to help your father."

"We?" Stiles narrowed his eyes in confusion.

"Yeah," said a familiar voice.

From behind Scott, Malia then walked into the warehouse, a little nervously. This was the first time that she and Stiles would see each other since her...moment with Theo. She had felt guilty enough before she learned about what Theo had done to him and all of their other friends too. As she made eye contact with Stiles, Malia found herself flinching back as it felt like a pin had been stuck right into the middle of her heart.

For Stiles, he was tense with seeing Malia again, given what that he picked up from Theo last night showed him regarding the two of them. The hard animalistic lust and attraction that he had for her, and she left upon him enough for him to tap and see. Looking at her face, he quickly felt a stab right in the middle of his heart.

Scott narrowed his eyes as he saw the two of them flinch, at the same time, in pain. "What's wrong?" he asked them. Yet, barely after he asked, the two of them seemed okay. "Are you two alright?"

The pain they both felt passed just as quickly as it came.

"Yeah," Malia breathed. "I'm fine."

"Same," said Stiles. He then straightened himself up. "You called her here?"

Malia felt her innards cringe. She caught his eyes and could see that spiteful glint in them as he looked at her. It was clear what was causing it. He knew.

"Well, after you left at me at your house," Scott narrowed his eyes a bit at Stiles at that one. Now that he was here, he let himself feel annoyed that Stiles pulled that. "I needed help to find you so I called Malia for help. She was the best chance I had of finding you."

"I guessed you were tracking down a lead on chimera that attacked your dad. I asked: how would Stiles go and find this chimera? Then I realized that if he was a new one, then he would also be a newly missing teenager," She explained.

"Oh," Stiles managed to make himself say.

Yeah, Malia was right. If he wasn't able to pick up Event Scars or scents at the scene of the attack, he could definitely see himself exploring from that angle. He found himself simultaneously feeling both proud and angry with Malia.

"So we called Parrish and asked if he could find out if there were any calls about missing teens in the last 24 hours."

Scott took over. "And there were two. One of course was you. The other was a sophomore by the name of Noah Patrick." He then pulled out a slightly crumpled piece of paper from his pocket. "Thankfully this was torn to shreds like most of the stuff in your room. It's the list of potential chimeras that you and your dad made. His name was on it."

"Noah?" Stiles said before shaking his head. "That's ironic." It was like a cruel joke that the one that attacked his dad would have the exact same name as him.

Scott then pocketed it again. "After that, we went to the school, picked up his scent and we followed it here and well, found you too."

"Great," he mumbled as he began to head on after the scent.

Scott moved to stop him. "Stiles, you can't do this alone," he said, trying to reason with him. "I know that you and me aren't...good right now. But this isn't about us right now. It's about your dad. He needs all the help he can get."

Stiles sighed and deflated a bit. "Then let's not waste any time with this and just find the guy, okay?"

"Okay," said both Scott and Malia, with small nods.

Stiles then turned around and moved on further inside with Scott and Malia trailing back a bit.

"There's something different about him," Malia said, staring at Stiles' back. "He's the same on the outside but-" Malia seemed unable to really describe it beyond there.

"Yeah, I know what you mean," mumbled Scott. "Hey, what was that about? He seemed upset that I called and brought you here."

She averted her head a bit. "Uh, well, Stiles and I...we kind of broke up, I guess."

Scott sighed. "Yeah, we kind of broke up too." He could see that there was something else wrong. "You can tell me what's happening with you. I mean, besides Stiles. You can talk to me."

"I said I'd help find this kid and I'm doing it to save Stiles' dad. But, don't ask me to talk."

"Well, I'm not asking, I'm offering. Just saying that it's okay if you want to."

"I know," she said before she moved up and broke away from Scott.

Scott stood there momentarily, watching as Stiles and Malia were off, working on trying to track the scent, but seemed to deliberately isolate themselves from each other. He silently sucked in some painful air as he felt another painful surge burn through him from his wound. When Stiles spotted a small alcove in the wall, Scott pushed it down and moved off after him.

The three of them entered and saw there were in some kind of winding basement. Malia stopped as she picked up something.

"The scent, I got it."

"Me too," said both Scott and Stiles.

The two of them shared a small look but Stiles looked away first before he moved to chase after it. The three of them followed it until they came to a knocked down part of a wall that led into a tunnel.

Using the map from the book, Liam and Mason were trudging along the woods as they tried to look for the Nemeton. The sun was already starting to set and it was getting darker every passing minute. Mason was turning the map in all directions as he checked the surroundings.

"This should be it. There should be a clearing here. Well, unless the clearing doesn't want to be found either."

"It's not here," Liam huffed.

"Liam, maybe we should get some help."

But Liam shook his head as he kept walking off determinedly. "No, everyone else is probably busy at the hospital with Stiles' dad."

"Well, what about Brett and Lori?" Mason suggested. "We could see if they can-"

"No," Liam sharply cut him. "No, we can't call them."

Mason's eyebrows rose a bit. "Why can't...did something happen?" Liam kept walking without saying anything. That was all the confirmation he needed. "Liam," he said, his tone raised a bit.

Liam stopped and moved his gaze right to the ground. "I...Lori and I had a little fight yesterday."

"A fight? Do you mean a fight or a fight?"

"I was scared and desperate to try and save Hayden. I thought since Scott didn't want to try and give her the bite, then maybe Satomi could do it. After all, she's an alpha too so I tried calling her for help and got Lori. She told me that Satomi was away and wouldn't be able to get back in time." He paused for a moment as he clenched his right hand into a tight fist. "I got angry and just went and yelled at Lori. Accusing her of not caring or wanting to help and blew her off."

Mason sucked in a little air. "Ouch," he said with a bit of a wince.

"Yeah," Liam said with a nod. "Now, she probably hates me. Her brother too. Everyone probably hates me, and they should. I even hate me right now. I couldn't save Hayden. No one could...and I wasn't there to make sure she didn't die alone." His voice was cracking, clear that he was on the verge of tears.

"She didn't. I was there. So was Melissa. She...she tried so hard. To help her. To save her."

"All while I was trying to kill Scott."

"You can't take all the blame. I mean there were like 800 extenuating circumstances."

But Liam shook his head. "It wasn't just the moon."

"Then it was losing Hayden. The fear that you couldn't help her like you promised you would. And, like you said, you had got angry and fought with Lori. You were angry, desperate and scared...and Theo, he took advantage of all that and tricked you."

"He didn't trick me. I knew exactly what I was doing. And I didn't care. What if all that was just me?"

Mason stared at him for a moment before he sighed. "Liam, you're a werewolf. It was a full moon. A Supermoon. You can't let yourself-" He then froze right there as realization hit him. "The nemeton, it's a beacon for supernatural creatures, right? So, what if it takes a supernatural creature to find it?"

"I am a supernatural creature and I can't find anything."

"But you've been looking with your human eyes."

Liam then understood what Mason was trying to tell him. He had to use his non-human eyes. All this time, they'd been trying to looking with human eyes. Him, Lydia, Stiles, Parrish. They never tried using their other ones at all. He quickly let himself focus as he shut his eyes before he opened them again to reveal his shifted ones. He scanned the area and he gasped as he saw something.

"Mason. Mason, look."

He did but everything still looked the same. "I don't see anything."

"Look, right there." He then grabbed hold of Mason's shoulder, tightly and directed him to where he was looking.

As Liam held him, Mason eyes widened as he then saw it too. Right up ahead, there were some bodies, the bodies of the 'failed' chimeras, all surrounding the giant stump that was the nemeton. The sun then completely set and everything was dark but the two of them were relieved to have finally found what they were looking for. Liam quickly looked around and noticed something very important. Hayden's body was not here.

"There's only four here," he pointed out.

"That means four chimeras are missing."

"There's only one that I care about. Hayden's alive, she has to be."

"Okay, you're right. But, either way, we still have to tell someone about this. We call the cops and get them here and figure out who's dead, who's alive or who's whatever. Sound good?"

Before Liam could answer, a big floodlight shined right on them. They both turned and found three cars and over half a dozen people there. Policeman. One of them was Hayden's sister Valerie. And next to Valerie, was Hayden.

"That's it. That's where I found the bodies," she said to her sister.

Mason, and especially Liam, were stunned at the sight of Hayden. Alive and well.

As Scott, Stiles and Malia were moving through the tunnels, they kept themselves silent the whole time. It made every step they took sound five times louder. As they kept following the scent, they soon found that they were getting damper and there were places were water was leaking from the pipes lining the walls. This was looking too familiar.

"Guys," Scott said, breaking their long silence. "I think we've seen tunnels like this before."

Malia nodded. "Yeah, when we were looking for Liam and Hayden."

"The water purification tunnels?" said Stiles.

Scott nodded. "We must be closer than we think. Maybe there's something else down here."

"Yeah, well right now, the only thing I care to find is something that helps my dad." Stiles' tension and anxiety were starting to spike again. "He's what matters right now and we can't just start standing around and wait for something else to just-"

Stiles didn't get to finish as he was jumped from behind and got slammed into the wall. His head knocked against it and Stiles barely heard Scott and Malia shout in both surprise and concern as the chimera moved to keep running.

Malia cut in front of him and her eyes widened as she looked at his face. "You?" she growled.

It was the same chimera that had attacked her at the hospital yesterday. She didn't get much time to dwell on that fact as he charged for her.

While they fought, Scott leaned down to Stiles and tried to stir him back up. Stiles could dimly hear Scott's voice trying as he found himself staring down at a shiny coffin, descending into the ground. He was in a suit, and was 8 years old. He realized that it was his mother's coffin he was staring at. He couldn't help but feel despair and grief fill every fiber of his being.

"Stiles, you gotta get up. Come on Stiles." He then felt a hand reach for his shoulder and he looked up to see the concerned face of his father. "You still got me."

With that, he moved to give him a hug and he felt his arms reach all around him. Barely a second after that, Stiles gasped as he saw that he was back in the tunnel with Scott shaking him awake.

"You okay?" he asked, helping him to his feet.

"Yeah, I'm fine." He blinked and tried to shake off his delirium. "Where is he?"

He got his answer as Malia roared out as she went and pinned down Noah. They looked down at him and they saw that there was already a spot of mercury coating his lips. He was looking a lot like the other failed chimeras that they had run across.

"Let me go, please, please," he begged to them desperately. "They're coming!"

Immediately, they all stiffened as they began to hear a familiar sound of distant stomping mixed in with a feeling of electrical cracking in the air. The Dread Doctors were close and were heading right for them. Distracted, Malia lost her grip on Noah as he pushed her away and tried to make a break for it. However, he barely got two steps before Stiles went and pushed him into the wall and grabbed him, lifting him a few inches into the air.

"You're not going anywhere," Stiles said, savagely getting into Noah's face. "You attacked my father. Why?"

"I don't know. I don't remember anything," he said, frightened as he tried and failed to break free from him.

Stiles quickly went and pulled him back slightly before ramming him back into the wall. He let his blue eyes burn through for a moment, staring directly into Noah's own. "You don't remember anything? I saw you when you attacked him. It didn't look like a black out to me."

He then began to whimper. "I-I don't. When it happens, when I change, I can't remember anything."

"Really? You clawed my dad half to death." Stiles' tone was low and barely restrained. It sent a chill down not just Noah's spine but one through both Scott and Malia too. "Left him bleeding on the floor. Now, it's poisoning him. So, you're going to remember everything. Every detail. Right here, right now."

"Stiles!" Scott tried to say to them.

"Uh, Scott, I hear them," Malia said, nervously looking down the corridor where the footsteps were getting louder and closer.

Scott turned away and looked down the corridor too. "Yeah, me too." He then looked back over at Stiles. "Stiles, get him out of here. We'll hold them off. Go and find a way to help your dad."

Stiles turned to look back at Scott, who nodded to him. His expression softened a little before he hardened himself up again and yanked Noah from the wall and forcibly escorted him down the tunnel. Scott then turned away to look down the corridor in time to see the three Dread Doctors walking in from right around the corner. He grunted as he felt another surge of pain from his chest and looked down to see that a fresh stain of blood on the front of his shirt. Malia looked over and noticed it and grew more anxious at the sight of it, adding to what was building with every step the Dread Doctors took for them.

Scott could see her starting to worry. "We're going to be okay," he said, trying to reassure her.

She wasn't. "Scott, we're going to die down here."

"No, we're not."

"How could you be so sure."

Scott's eyes narrowed as he saw the Doctors were now a couple of yards away. "Because you're not the only one I called."

Barely a second after he said that, a voice called out to them from behind.

"Get down!"

They turned around to see Chris Argent step out of the shadows and he was pointing a rifle for right down the corridor. The two of them quickly ducked down into opposing corners before Argent fired a round right for the doctors. It went for them but seemed to ricochet away from them like it hit something invisible. It was as if they had erected a shield right in front of them and his next two round went and bounced off it, just like the first one. They slowed their advance, but they were still coming for them. But Argent didn't stop.

"Run!" he told Scott and Malia as he kept firing.

The two of them pulled themselves up and ran off while Argent went and covered their escape.

As Stiles and Noah were running down the hall, they quickly heard the echoing sounds of gunfire. Stiles' eyes narrowed as he could make out Argent's voice in between the shots. He knew that Scott and Malia would be able to get away now, so he could focus on working Noah. They soon came up to a rusted looking gate that was sealed with a chain and lock.

"Come on!" Noah said as he stared back. "You can open it, right?"

"Yeah," Stiles said before he let go of the lock. He turned back to him. "But, you're going to tell me what you did."

"What? I told you, I can't remember." Noah took another look behind him. The sounds of bullets and roars still echoing through the tunnels. "We don't have time for this. They're still out there!" he said, trying to desperately reason with Stiles.

"Then I would remember and remember fast!" Stiles roared at him. "What did you do to him?"

"I lose control. I can't remember!"

"Try!"

"I can't!"

Stiles didn't buy that. It wasn't that this guy couldn't remember, he didn't want to. "Maybe I can jog your memory." He then went and brought out his claws and then let his fangs free a bit. "Because if want to get out of here you're going have to get passed me."

All the guy needed was a little incentive. Like he and Scott got from Derek sometimes back when they had first started out.

"No." Noah tried to run around him but Stiles grabbed and pushed him away. "Get out of my way!"

But Stiles just responded by letting his eyes shift and displaying their blue glow at him again. He calmly stared him down, seemingly undisturbed as the sounds kept going off, and getting louder. Noah desperation soared and he then began to groan out, as if he was in pain, and Stiles then saw that he extended his hands out too. But, what was coming out weren't claws, they seemed to be foot long spikes from out of his wrists. He jumped for Stiles but he quickly went and grabbed both of his wrists, stopping him cold. Stiles' blue eyes looked over to the guy's hands and saw that the spikes were actually solid bone. He then realized that he'd seen this before. And on Noah's left hand, the bone spike had a piece broken off. Noah roared as he tried to fight through Stiles' strong and tight grip but couldn't free himself. Stiles then went and threw him off, into the gate. He bounced off it before landing on the ground. Stiles just stood there as Noah quickly got up and moved to slice through the chain with his spike. As he did, Stiles momentarily saw a giant figure there, clad in bones bringing his bone spike hand down. Noah broke the chain and quickly moved to pull the gate open, scared Stiles would stop him but the werewolf just stood there. He managed to pry it apart and he took off.

Stiles realized what was wrong now. He pulled out his phone but saw that there was no reception. He then moved to run out through the gate himself. He had to call Melissa.

Noah made it out of the tunnels and found himself topside again. It looked like he was at some kind of service station but it was empty at the moment, which he was thankful for. He then let himself stop and sat down to rest against a wall. As he did, he went and spat up a little mercury that seemed to gather in his mouth. He stared down the gray sludge on his hand for a moment before he heard a very familiar sound close by. Before he could react, the sight of the Dread Doctors were right in front of him. The very last thing he saw.

Stiles ran out of the hospital elevator, barely avoiding bumping headfirst into a couple heading for it, as he moved to get to his dad's room. Waiting just outside was Scott's mom.

"Is he okay?" he quickly asked.

He quickly braced himself, while wishing very hard that she wasn't about to give him bad news.

But Melissa nodded. "He's okay," she told him, making him sigh in relief. "We found it. The bone shard that was stuck inside him. We got it out and the toxins are quickly flushing out of his system. He'll be a little weak for a few days but he should be just fine."

After hearing that, Stiles made his way inside and looked over at his father. Stiles' could quickly tell that he was indeed doing a lot better than this morning. He moved to pull a chair and sat down at his side. Reaching for his hand, he sighed in relief feeling his warmth and the healthy feel it seemed to have. Barely a second after he sighed, his father's hand moved to grip his own back. His dad's eyes were opened and he was cracking a small grin at the sight of him.

"Hey," he managed to groan out.

"Dad," he muttered in near disbelief. "You're really okay."

Noah managed to give him a small smile. "Yeah, it's okay Stiles. You still got me."

Stiles began to tear up after hearing that. What he had been hearing all day. Hearing his dad say all day. But this time, it wasn't a dream. It was real.

At the sight of his son's tears, his father moved to let his hand grip at his wrist lovingly. "You know...your fur was surprisingly very soft."

That made Stiles' eyes widen. He wanted to ask more but his dad's eyes were already closing as sleep took him again. Stiles found himself caught with wanting to keep crying and laugh his head off. He decided to leave the room so his dad could get some sleep and headed off to the bathroom so he could clean himself up. But he froze when he detected three familiar scents in the air. Three people that he just couldn't be around right now.

Scott, Malia and Argent walked through the doors and quickly found Melissa waiting up at the front desk. She saw that all three of them had the same silent question running through their faces. She responded with a smile and a small nod. The three of them let themselves breathe out a sigh of relief and smile at each other in triumph. Today, they managed to get themselves a victory.

"Stiles is already with him," she told them.

Scott quickly broke away from them and headed over for the elevator. When he got to the room, he saw that the Sheriff seemed to be resting soundly but Stiles was nowhere in sight. Scott quickly picked up his scent but found that it heading for the staircase. He then noticed Argent heading over to him.

"He's gone," Scott told him.

"I have a feeling that a lot more has happened than you told me over the phone?"

"You could say that."

He then went into his pocket and pulled out the bent up and crumbled silver pendant he found in Stiles' room. At the sight of it, Argent's face hardened as he let out a heated but tired sigh.

Virgil was sitting at his favorite armchair as he stared intensely at the tarot card he was holding up. It was The Death card. The one that had come up for his fortune last night. The one that fell out of his pouch to him as that…thing had leered down at him. Right now, there were three spots of dried blood on it. No doubt from off that creature's claws or skin from the many people it had killed last night at the shop. For all Virgil knew, it could even be the blood from his ass of a boss. Or, his former boss he supposed. He still didn't even know what was really even going on. A knock on his door soon broke him out of his musings.

He got up and went to the door and found Stiles standing there. "Hey," he muttered to him.

"Hey," Stiles said back to him.

"What happened with your dad?"

Stiles nodded. "It looks like he's going to be okay now."

He quickly picked up the scent of relief well up from Virgil as soon as he told him that.

"That's good to here and all but, did you you actually come all the way here and this late to tell me that?"

"Well, I didn't have your number," Stiles lazily threw in. "Not to mention I still had the clothes you loaned me." He lifted a small plastic bag with them bundled up inside. "Plus, I think I still owe you an explanation. Can I come in?"

Virgil stared at Stiles for silently for a moment before he moved and widened the door enough for Stiles to step on inside.

A/N: Well, that's it for the first full episode of Part 2. Looks like things are already changing around from what we know. It seems that there is an emotional change, not just between Scott and Stiles but between Stiles and Malia, and no doubt the rest of the pack too. And that just might be the tip of the iceberg. One person asked if Stiles might go on and join Satomi's pack, well, I won't spoil anything but I will say the issue will be coming up.

The next chapter will be an original one. We'll see the return of the Hales, and a little one on one time with Stiles and Virgil, and Scott realizes that he will have his work cut out for him now.
