Calypso
As Calypso sat in isolation, she thought about Leo Valdez. She thought about his smile, his laugh, his humor. She thought about his lips too and how surprised he was when she kissed him. How wide his eyes were and how shocked his expression.
Gods! Calypso smacked her forehead. He was just another one in the long line of people she fell in love with. Give her a couple more months, a year tops, and she would be over him. But there was something different about him that made her unable to forget. He was so different than all the other heroes who had fallen on her island. So insecure.
She grumbled to herself and walked outside of her cave. In the distance, she spotted a figure, a dark splotch against the sun. Figuring it must be a bird of some sort, she ignored it and started gardening. As she dug up her plants, she kept an eye on it. As it got larger, it became more apparent that it was not a bird at all, but something much larger.
Slightly confused and nervous, she wondered if someone else was falling to her island. But, the gods typically waited until she had fallen out of love with the last hero, and she was still incredibly in love with Leo. She continued to kneel there with the flower in her hand, but didn't move until the shape had finally gained details. It was a large mechanical dragon.
Even more confused now, she dropped the flower and walked towards the beach where it was going to land. Suddenly, a memory struck her. Something Leo mentioned about a dragon he built. A mechanical dragon.
Heart suddenly racing, Calypso's mind went wild. His promise to come back. Could he actually be the first? Or was this some cruel trick by the Gods and it wasn't him at all. The dragon, loosing altitude and smoking badly, collapsed into a pile on the sand. Calypso stood in shock, then inched forward. Sitting on the back of the dragon, was Leo Valdez.
Calypso's heart jumped into her throat as emotion rose to her eyes. A tearful and shaky smile came to her lips. He had done it. He actually came back for her. He hadn't forgotten her like the others had. His name was on her lips as she rushed forward, but suddenly, horror struck her.
Fireproof Leo was badly burned and clearly dead. Her steps came up short as the dragon turned to her with sad eyes. Standing in shock, she looked at him. Leo's skin was too pale, his body too limp. His arms and legs were peppered with dark patches, skin that had been burned off, then cooled. He barely resembled the person who had landed her weeks ago. In fact, he wasn't the same person at all.
She remembered when Percy Jackson had landed on her island. He too was pale and covered with burns. She saved him! Why couldn't she save Leo? But, there was a big difference between the two boys. Percy had been alive. Leo was dead.
A sob choked in her throat. She took a couple steps away from the body. No. She refused to accept that the only person in the world to find her island twice was dead. He went to such extreme lengths to save her, he couldn't just be gone. She ran to her cave and began to pull out spices and potions. There was only one person who could save him. But could she?

A day later, Calypso stood a couple arms lengths away from the dead Leo. The dragon had let the body slide off his back and was sitting under a tree, watching sadly. Calypso clutched a vial of dark liquid, something she spent all night coming up with. She had never reversed the dead before. But, she had brought people back from the brink before. it had to be similar, only stronger.
She came closer to him and opened his mouth. She shuttered at the touch. He was too cold. She poured the liquid down his throat. If her theory was correct, he should come back in 24 hours. If it was wrong? She didn't want to think about that.

Over 24 hours later, Calypso still hadn't left his side. She sat in the sand, back up against a tree, watching him. His wounds were greatly improving, which lightened Calypso slightly. However, he was still very clearly dead.
She looked at the sun. She had given him the potion at noon on a Thursday. He should have woken up at noon on a Friday. However, the sun was peaking over the horizon introducing Saturday. He should be awake by now. Unless, she was wrong, and she wasn't as powerful. Unless she failed.
The tears that had been in her eyes since he arrived started spilling down her face. She watched him, begging him to open her eyes. What she wouldn't give for their eyes to meet again. For her to be able to thank him for saving her. Him sending her the dragon. She wasn't stupid. She knew exactly what that meant. But she refused to ride away without him next to her.
As the sun rose higher and higher, she cried harder. Then, she began talking.
"Please wake up." She sobbed. He had no reaction.
"Please. He is a good person. He deserves to live." She cried out to the skies. She hoped the Gods heard her. She hoped they felt guilty.
"Of all the cruel punishments you have sent me, this is the worst. Having him die here in front of me. You are cruel. You are terrible." She did not care about whatever repercussions she would be hit with. She wanted the Gods, if only for one minute, to feel ashamed of themselves. Of letting him die for them.
"You promised Percy Jackson that you would free me, but you sent me him instead. And then when I fell in love with him, you sent me his body. What is wrong with you? With all of you?" She was screaming and collapsed in the sand, sobbing into her hands. Her hands that could not save Leo Valdez.
The air suddenly got very warm. She looked up and saw Hephaestus standing over his dead son. She gasped and fell back. He looked at Leo, then gave her a sad smile. He placed his hand over Leo's head, then disappeared. The second he was gone, Leo shot forward, gasping.
"What? Who? What? What just happened?" He gasped and looked around. Then his eyes met Calypso's. He scrambled to his feet, looking shocked. Calypso stood as well and put a hand over her mouth.
"Uh... hey?" Leo gave a small wave and that is when Calypso sprinted forward and threw her arms around him. He hugged her back and for a second, everything was right in the world. Calypso loved him and she was free to love him for the rest of her life.

Two months later
As they arrived in New York, Calypso was leaning so far over the edge of Festus, Leo was getting nervous. He had told her about all the sky scrapers, however, seeing them was entirely different. In all the places they had traveled in the last two months, Calypso had never seen a place like New York.
"Hey, so we're almost there. I'm thinking about making a big dramatic entrance, y'know? Maybe light myself on fire and announce my presence. I think it would be funny and ironic since I supposedly died in a fire. Funny, right?" Leo was talking loudly over the wind.
"Funny." Calypso said vaguely, taking in the view.
"Pretty cool, huh?" Calypso looked over and Leo was grinning at her reaction.
"Yeah." Calypso's grin grew wider. "Very cool."
"So, you excited to meet my friends?" Leo asked, changing the subject.
"Yeah." She smiled. Over the last two months, Calypso had heard much about all of the Argo's crew. She knew so much about all of them, it was funny to her that she was just now meeting them. Leo was clearly very excited to see his friends again. Calypso could tell he missed them.
"There's camp!" Leo said excitedly. He pointed at a cluster of small buildings.
"Okay, Festus, keep it steady." Leo ordered, and Festus complied. They were suddenly still in midair, the wind dying down so they could talk to each other. Leo turned to face her. Calypso's smile grew at the sight of Leo's wind blown hair.
"So what should my entrance be? I'm thinking I fly down on Festus, say something like 'you miss me?' and then hop off and do a back flip or something." He smiled.
"I think you need to learn how to do a back flip first." Calypso laughed. If only she had her magic, then she could give him super agility. But, ever since she left the island, she had not been able to do any magic whatsoever. It appeared she was just a normal mortal now. It suited her fine. She couldn't really care less.
"Okay. Here I go." Leo smiled nervously. He stood up and Festus started lowering them into camp. Calypso reached forward and grabbed his hand from behind. He squeezed it gratefully. Leo reached down his his other hand and grabbed the microphone system on Festus. He started blaring rock music and started speaking into the mike.
"Hey fellow demigods!" He grinned wildly. "You guys miss me?"
People started to come out of their cabins and gasp. Some even screamed and slapped their palms over their mouths. Some of Leo's siblings began to cry. Chiron came out of the Big House and shook his head in disbelief.
"What? Did you guys think I was dead or something?" He smirked, but all joy slid off his face when Piper and Jason emerged from the Zeus cabin. Their faces filled with yearning, happiness, grief, desperation, searched his. Leo's wild grin was replaced by an anxious look, nervous by their reactions. Piper started crying and looked at Jason, then back at Leo. She stumbled forward towards him.
"Hey Beauty Queen." Leo slid off the wing and met her in the field, hugging. Jason ran forward towards the pair. Piper stepped back and gave a crying laugh. Jason grabbed Leo's shoulders as if not entirely sure he was actually there or actually him. He then pulled Leo into a large hug. Piper couldn't help but joining back in.
Leo laughed and pulled back. "Jason, Pipes, I want you to meet Calypso. She saved my life." Leo grabbed Calypso's arm and pulled her to his best friends.
"Hi-" Calypso began, but was cut off by Piper giving her a large hug. Jason was still staring at Leo as if he couldn't believe it and hugged him again. Some of Leo's siblings and other friends rushed forward to hug him as well.
"Where are the others?" Leo laughed and faced Jason.
Jason was still looking at him in awe. "I- uh-" he broke off in a shock filled laugh. "Hazel and Frank are at Camp Jupiter."
"Oh." Leo gave a breathy laugh. "And where's Annabeth?"
The shock and awe on Jason's face faded, replaced by a very guilty look. He looked at Piper who still had an arm on Calypso's shoulders. Silence filled the air as the other campers started to filter away.
"She left." Piper finally said. Jason looked down.
"We don't know where she is."
