A\N: I have no idea what this McHart oneshot will be about but I do know it'll be short and comforting.

It creeps up on her without her noticing. She only notices the day when she suddenly starts crying in the shower, and she goes to wash her breasts.
She turns off the spray and leaves the bathroom, a towel wrapped around her wet body. Her husband is just waking up, stretching like a cat when he notices her walking back towards the bed.
"Morning." He says, she doesn't answer: she only dries her body, puts on the least sexiest pyjamas she owns and crawls into bed, laying down on her side, turning to face the window, closing her eyes.
"Di?" Her husband asks, again she doesn't answer, she keeps her eyes closed. After a while, Kurt gives up trying to get her to talk and leaves the bedroom without another word. He returns ten minutes later with two cups of coffee and breakfast for them. She doesn't touch her coffee or breakfast.
Diane lets out a sob when the images flash across her mind. Sitting up, she reaches for her phone and opens her email, firing one off to David Lee, who is the only one who knows what the day is, telling him she won't be in today. Five minutes later, David replies with the usual response he's given her the last ten years: take as much time as you need, I'll tell everyone you're taking a personal day, and she places the phone back on her nightstand face down with the ringer off. The day is the only day she takes off, usually. If the memories are too overwhelming for her, she'll go into the firm, locking herself in her office for a few hours before leaving and going back home, she used to do that the first few years, until it got easier to ignore the memories.
She can remember every bit, every minute of the attack, every word spoken, every slap that was delivered to her, it plays in her head like a loop, she's unable to turn it off on this particular day. She startles, her eyes snapping open, when a hand lands on her shoulder, a gasp leaving her mouth, her heart racing.
She relaxes when she sees it's just her husband, looking at her in concern.
"Okay, Diane, what is going on?" He asks, kneeling down to face her. Diane just shakes her head. She can't tell him, she can't tell him about the darkest time in her life. He wouldn't understand.
Kurt sighs deeply. "Alright, you don't wanna talk, fine don't talk, I've gotta get going, call me when you wanna talk about what the hell is going on with you, I love you." And with that last sentence, he leaves the bedroom, slamming the front door behind him.
Diane just closes her eyes and falls asleep, Justice hopping in the bed beside her, resting her head on her hip.

To say that Kurt McVeigh is concerned about his wife is one of the biggest understatements of the year. He noticed it last night when she turned her head when he went in to kiss her lips, causing him to kiss her cheek before they went to sleep, she also slept as far away from him as possible, this morning just made him further concerned about her.
His wife has been on his mind all day, of course she's always on his mind, but today she's been on his mind more than usual.
He's not heard from her all day, not even a one worded text during the day, which is too unlike her. This whole day has had him bent out of shape. He doesn't want to push his wife into talking but at the same time, he wants to know what is going with her.
He unlocks the apartment door, preparing himself for what he'll enter into.
The apartment is dark, with the curtains still drawn, their breakfasts still on the kitchen island where he left them this morning.
His wife hasn't left their bedroom all day. He doesn't bother in taking off his shoes or jacket, he just walks into their bedroom where his wife and her dog are asleep in the darkened room, her phone is still laying face down on her nightstand in the same position she put it this morning.
She hasn't moved all day by the looks of things. He sighs, knowing he'll have to wait until tomorrow to ask her what the hell has been going on with her today.
He strips down to his boxers and climbs into bed and despite it only being 9 at night, he falls asleep.

Diane wakes up to Justice licking her face. She scrunches her face up as her eyes open, Justice is in her face licking it.
"Justice, stop." She says sleepily. Her dog whimpers as she finally stops licking Diane's face. She sits up, looking beside her at Kurt who is still asleep. She knows he'll have questions about yesterday but she can't tell him.
Justice jumps off the bed and walks to the bedroom door, pawing at the closed door, looking at Diane. Diane sighs and gets out of bed, opening the door for her dog. She glances at her husband before she leaves the bedroom. It's still early, too early to get ready and go to work. She sighs again as she walks into the living room and opens the curtains before doing yesterday's breakfast dishes, she feels bad for yesterday but she can't help what happened to her ten years ago.
After doing the dishes, feeding Justice and doing some of the laundry, it's nearing 7 am. She pads back into her room and heads into the bathroom turning on the shower as high as she can stand it.
She quickly showers and wraps a towel around her, walking back out into her bedroom where her husband is waking her, she ignores him and goes to her closet and picks out an outfit to wear. After changing into a red dress and grabbing a pair of heels, she brushes her drying hair. Through her mirror, she meets her husband's eyes, they don't speak.
Their eyes talk when their lips can't.
I'm sorry. Her eyes tell him as she starts to apply makeup.
It's okay. His eyes say when he gets out of bed and walks up behind her, wrapping his arms around her neck and pressing a kiss to her cheek.
She leans back into his chest and stares at him through her mirror.
At this moment she realises that no matter how hard a day is, no matter if she doesn't speak to him all day, they'll always be here for each other.
