Dee had a fascination with Ryo's hands, had done practically since the day he'd met his new work partner. Falling head over heels in love with him had only deepened that fascination. It didn't matter what Ryo was doing, whether he was driving, cooking, cleaning his gun, filling in forms… there was just something about the way those long, elegant fingers worked together so smoothly and effortlessly. They were beautiful, just like the rest of the man, and they made Dee's own hands seem clumsy in comparison.
Ryo's voice snapped Dee out of his thoughts.
"Are you just going to stare, or are you going to help me? I thought we were supposed to be doing this together." He sounded more amused than annoyed.
"Sorry, babe, it's just… I'm scared my big, clumsy mitts are gonna ruin your handiwork. That looks amazin'."
"You really think so?" Ryo studied the wreath that was taking shape beneath his deft fingers. "Still looks kinda sparse to me."
"Well sure, but that's only 'cause it's not finished yet. Even I can tell that."
"If you're not going to help with construction, the least you can do is sort out the pinecones and other things we gathered so I can see what there is for decoration."
"Now that I can do." Dee emptied the bag onto the newspaper-covered table and began to spread out the contents. "Looks like we got half the countryside here. We're gonna have the best Christmas wreath in the whole buildin'."
