Chapter 36:
Hour Zero
Bezel Dorsey, 18, Capitol
"Fuck, what is happening?!" Bez screams out as he keeps firing arrows out at the approaching mutts, stopping some in their tracks, but others just keep coming towards them, arrows sticking out of them. Every time he grabs another arrow, he can feel his quiver getting emptier and emptier, and it just makes them more panicked by the second – and they just seem to be never ending. "I don't want to die!"
"Then shut up and keep shooting them!" Chantelle yells at him and Bez lets out a whine of complaint, but does as she said. She keeps stabbing at the mutts, kicking others away from her as she has her spear in the head of another. She might not say anything, but Bez can see her growing weaker and can see the blood on her arms and legs.
"We need to get higher ground," Juno tells them, not breaking a sweat as they shoot another mutt down. But when Bez glances over at them, he can see the pinch of their brows as they keep firing, only a couple arrows left.
"The cornucopia!" Bez says, pointing at it with an arrow before firing it at a mutt getting close to Chantelle. When she realizes what he did, she gives him a small nod of appreciation before turning back to fighting them off, but she cries out when one of them scratches her arm deeply. When Bez goes to grab another arrow and grabs at empty air, his stomach drops in fear and he uses his bow to smack a mutt back before grabbing a knife on his belt. "Fuck, I'm out of arrows!"
"Grab more and I'll cover," Juno tells him, but when he glances at their quiver for a second, he knows that won't last long. "GO!" they yell at him, snapping him into action, and he sprints over to the pile of supplies, jumping over some dead mutts on the ground, before tripping when one grabs at his ankle and pulls him to the ground.
"You stupid thing!" Bez yells as he starts stabbing at it repeatedly, before kicking its dead hand back. More mutts notice him on the ground and start coming towards him, and he cries out in fear. How is he supposed to keep fighting them off when there was seemingly no end? He doesn't want to die, this wasn't what was supposed to happen in the Games! "I want to go home," he cries out as he curls up a little bit, sobbing in fear.
"You won't get to go home if you don't get off your sorry ass and fight!" Chantelle screams at him, but Bez just can't get himself back up to fight anymore. It all just seems so useless, they're not going to make it out of there alive.
Juno runs out of arrows and runs over to his side, pulling out their twin swords to start fighting off the mutts in front of them. "Bez, you gotta keep fighting right now," they tell him, but he just shakes his head. "This won't last forever, I promise. But I can't fight them off on my own, I need you."
"M-me?" Bez asks shakily, pointing at his chest in surprise. People didn't usually need him for things, not like this… And when Juno lets out a cry of frustration when one of them got through and scratched their chest, he looks up and slowly climbs back up to his feet. He picks up an axe lying on the ground nearby and holds it in front of them, getting ready for the next one to come close to him. They're both right, the only way he's going to get home is to do this himself. If he doesn't fight for himself, who will? "Bring it on, you ugly motherfucker!" he screams at a mutt before running towards it, slamming his axe down into his head. Juno chuckles by his side, continuing to fight along with him, as Chantelle groans as she stabs another one.
He doesn't know how long they keep up the fight, his arms growing weak in fatigue, but he keeps pushing forward. What's life without some pain and suffering to get through? He was going to end up like some of the greatest artists of the past, who suffered greatly to make their beautiful work. And he knows that he'll have a trove of emotions to pull on when he is out of the arena.
A sharp cry of a bird startles him and he ducks down, temporarily distracted and one of the mutts grabs his side, digging in deep. "Fuck!" he shouts, shoving it away and hitting it in the head over and over with his axe before yanking it out. He takes a couple steps back until his back hits the cornucopia, pressing his hand on his side. He can feel the blood there and winces, knowing this isn't good. But as he watches, a giant ass bird swoops down near them, picking up a few of the mutts and carrying them up high in the sky, before letting them drop to their doom. And it's not the only one, as a few more swoop down and do the same, as one of them lands on the ground and a crazy bastard jumps off of it. "Is this really happening?!"
"Get down!" Julian shouts at them and Juno does as he says, pulling Bez down with them. Chantelle ducks a moment later as Julian starts rapid fire shooting at the mutts, bringing them to the ground much faster than they were taking them down. Once he's cleared a good perimeter and his birds continue to pick off the rest, he lowers his gun with a face. "Ugh, I hate these things."
"What are you doing here?!" Juno asks him, surprised look on their face.
"Ah, yes," Julian says, giving a grandiose gesture at the hovercraft in the distance coming towards them. "We have arrived to rescue you! Well, not you," he points at Juno and Bez hisses as he grabs their arm protectively. "As part of your ongoing agreement with the Capitol, you have to stay and protect me in the arena."
"No way!" Bez says protectively, trying to pull them back from Julian as the hovercraft starts to lower down near them, blowing air around. "That's not fair!"
"Well honey, maybe they shouldn't have gotten caught up in a rebel plot and had to make a plea agreement, huh?" Julian asks him, putting his hands on his hips as he narrows his eyes. "Just be grateful we actually knew your locations and could get to you first to save your sorry asses."
"What do you mean, save us?" Chantelle asks, still watching the mutts in the distance with worry in her eyes. "Isn't this just part of the Games?!"
"Ah, yeah, about that," Julian says, clasping his hands together in front of his chest as the hovercraft door opens and who steps out but none other than Seraphim and Zephyr, the victor going first protectively. "The Games are over."
"We've been instructed to rescue as many of you as we can," Seraphim tells them loudly over the sound of the hovercraft. He gestures at it as he looks around anxiously. "Please, get on the hovercraft, it's dangerous!"
"No more Games?!" Chantelle asks in disbelief and stands her ground, shaking her head. "No, that can't be happening. I'm supposed to win and prove to my father I'm good enough!"
"Girl, are you not listening?!" Zephyr asks, coming up to Chantelle and shaking her shoulders. "We are in a war. There are more important things than your asshole father's approval right now. And each second you keep us here instead of searching the arena is another second where someone else may die. Do you want to be responsible for that?!"
"No," Chantelle answers, her eyes widening a little bit in fear of his tone, and he sighs and lets go of her. She looks around at them before putting her shoulders back. "Fine, if I can't win the Games, I will help find the most tributes."
"I'll find more then!" Bez says, unable to help himself from wanting to one up her. He doesn't want to look like the bad one for wanting to get on the safe hovercraft right now. But…he doesn't want to go without Juno. But he especially can't be the only career running to safety right now.
"No, everyone stop," Seraphim says, pinching the bridge of his nose as he lets out a loud sigh. "Please, both of you, just get on the hovercraft. It's going to stay closed up here until we come back with other tributes, and you'll have guards on board protecting you. And treating your injuries."
"Bez, it's okay," Juno tells him quietly and he gives them a look, wondering how they can just say that. "This is my own fault and I have to pay the price now. But that price doesn't have to mean your death."
"But what if you get killed out there protecting that weirdo?!" Bez asks, gesturing at Julian, who just shrugs as he whistles and a group of dogs come off the hovercraft, sniffing the air immediately and looking around. "He doesn't deserve that!"
"It's fine, Bez, just go," Juno tells him, a little harshly, and Bez takes a step back in surprise at their tone. They see the hurt on his face and sigh, shaking their head as they gather up a few quivers of arrows and put them on their back. "I'll come back to you."
"You better," Bez replies right away, frowning as Seraphim tries to grab his arm and pull him towards the hovercraft. Next to him, Chantelle shrugs off Zephyr's help and starts limping over to the hovercraft, pain on her face and seemingly resigned to her fate. "Or else I'm gonna find this bastard and kill him myself."
Juno chuckles at that and shakes their head as they come up to Bez. They grab his cheeks and give him a kiss, which Bez returns right away, grabbing the front of their shirt in desperation to keep them there. "Stay safe, Bez," they tell him, before stepping back and looking at Julian. "Where to first?"
"No, this isn't fair!" Bez calls after them as one of the guards on the hovercraft comes forward to grab his arms, dragging him back to safety. "I should be going with them!"
"Do you want to die?!" Seraphim asks, turning around to face him and finally snapping. He points at them, shaking his head. "Because you will if you stay in this arena! You're bleeding out and we can't have you as a liability right now. There are others out there who need us, so I'm not wasting anymore time arguing with a child."
Bez's jaw drops open in shock at him saying that to him and he lets the guards drag him aboard. He just watches as the door closes up, leaving them inside, while the others are going out into the arena and danger.
"What happened to I want to go home?" Chantelle asks him and Bez turns to look at her, sitting on a bench as her wounds are getting flushed out already. She raises an eyebrow at him in questioning.
"Oh shut up, ya bitch," Bez tells her, stomping over to the window with his arms crossed. He watches Seraphim point around, directing them, before they set out in different directions into the arena. He doesn't feel safe on the hovercraft, just being a sitting duck right here. But what can he do? They made him go inside, as much as he didn't want to. He should be doing something, not just sitting idle. His hands itch for something to do, especially his paint brushes. But instead…
He's left standing here with the sinking feeling that he won't see them all alive again.
Riley Roomer, 15, District Three
When the sky turns red, Riley starts quickly doing the math in her head. There are still 16 of them left, it would be way too early for them to start a feast – usually that was reserved for the final eight. So an arena gimmick? She wouldn't put it past them to do that at this point. One third dead by the third day, most of those at the bloodbath. Have to do something to keep the Capitol interested.
So why not make their lives more hellish than they already were?
"What's happening?" Sonya asks her, squinting up at the red sky. Everything about it is so unnatural and sends an unsettling shiver down Riley's spine as she looks around the remnants of District Three nervously as they hunker down in a broken building. "A feast?"
"No, it's too early for that to-" Riley cuts off when there's a loud boom in the distance – not the cannon kind of boom, but the earth shaking kind of boom. The noise just unsettles her further and she scrambles to her feet, pulling her backpack tightly around her. "We need to get moving, something is happening." If it was an earthquake or something…she looks around nervously at the broken buildings surrounding them. They would be in the worst spot for that. "Come on, let's go."
"I'm going," Sonya tells her, letting out a slight huff of annoyance as Riley gives her an impatient look as she gets up. "Where are we even going?"
"I don't know," Riley says, starting to walk out to the middle of the broken street, as far from the buildings as she can get. She just doesn't like this and can't help the unease she feels in her stomach. She glances over at Sonya, wondering if it might be time for her to go her own way. Or…do what the Gamemakers expect her to do. Which isn't an easy thought at all, but…it's what has to be done to get home to her family. She won't let Sonya take away another child from her parents – their oldest child, the one who can actually do something to help the rest. This alliance was never going to last long and it was one of convenience. There was a reason she turned Sonya down in the Capitol.
It's Sonya or Riley. And when the choice means keeping her family safe…there's really only one choice.
She hesitantly puts a hand over her knife, keeping her body angled so Sonya wouldn't see. But the girl is too busy looking around, until she stops suddenly and squints at one of the buildings.
"What is it?" Riley asks her, stopping behind her and slowly taking out her knife with a shaking hand. Can she really do this? Can she actually kill someone? …Yes, family comes first. She knew this would happen eventually when she volunteered. And she knows her lack of strength compared to the others. She might not be able to kill one of them, but Sonya? She could prove herself to the Gamemakers with this kill.
"I don't know…" Sonya says hesitantly, still staring at the building. "I thought I heard something…"
"I didn't," Riley replies quietly, her hand shaking as she looks down at her knife. No, she can't do this…can she? She doesn't know, she doesn't want to hurt someone! But…her family is hurting back home without her. They need her… She looks back up at Sonya, stealing her nerves to do it, but stops when she does hear the noise. And when she sees the mutts coming out of the buildings – mutts that should only be out at night time, she knows she doesn't have a choice. It's her or Sonya and she has to get away. And there's one way to guarantee they focus on Sonya and not her…
"I'm sorry," Riley tells Sonya before stabbing her in the side and quickly shoving her away. She takes a couple steps back in shock as Sonya turns to her with wide eyes, putting a hand on her side in surprise. And when the mutts pick up the pace coming towards them, Riley doesn't wait to see what happens, she just takes off running as fast as she can away from there.
Only when she reaches the end of the street does she turn back, finding Sonya on the ground with the mutts nearby, and a pang of guilt goes through her. She just did what was necessary to survive. But it still feels wrong. Everything about these Games are just wrong. She shouldn't have had to volunteer for them just to keep her family alive.
But she's here now and she's made her choices. And she doesn't have much time to think about them before some of the robot mutts start stumbling out of a nearby building, glowing red eyes fixed on her. She takes off running once more, lungs burning for air as her feet hit the broken pavement, but she doesn't turn back again. She can hear them running after her, metal feet clanging loudly on the cement, and she just silently prays as she runs that the sound won't get any closer.
She doesn't even know where she's running to, just that she has to get far away from the mutts. And eventually she hears their footsteps getting farther away as she weaves between the broken rubble and cement, keeping low to try and stay hidden from them. Soon she sees a small crack in a building wall and slips inside, waiting and holding her breath.
It's only when she's tucked away in a broken building and can hear the mutts running past her that she realizes she never heard a cannon fire. She rubs her face, knowing it means Sonya is somehow still alive out there and she might have to face her again, knowing what she did to her. But…no, the chances of her surviving that long are slim with the mutts around. She could barely run to begin with, but with a stab wound? Unlikely she'll live through the night…
It's a horrible thought, but one she has nonetheless. Because at this point, it's just what she has to do to survive and get home to her family…
Because family comes first, always.
Vulcan Adamos, 18, District Two
The cannon still hasn't fired for Karter, making Vulcan feel worse by the minute. They know they were just doing what years and years of training taught them to do, but it just still feels wrong. It would be one thing if he had just died right away, but now…now Vulcan has just made him suffer. Again.
They should go fix their mistake. How? By actually killing him this time? No, they don't want to do that… Try to help them? No fucking way would Lobo let them help them after what they did in the first place…
But the desperate cries for help still ring in their ears as they crouch down by a tree, leaning back against it and hitting their head against it a few times. They did what they were supposed to do. But they just don't understand why it feels so wrong. They know the answer, deep down, but just don't want to admit it – and that's how they ended up in the arena in the first place. They never truly wanted to be in the Games, but it was the only way to make their father at least somewhat proud of them. If they could be the toughest manly man and become District Two's newest victor, it would all be worth it, right?
Oh it isn't worth it at all. They hate the person they're being in this arena, knowing it's exactly who their father wanted them to be. And that person couldn't be farther from who they actually are. Except they barely even know who they are these days…
Ugh, what a big mess they have gotten themself into.
They kick a branch on the ground, grumbling under their breath, before they look up when the sky turns red, followed by a boom in the distance, squinting in the direction. That…wasn't a cannon, and seems to be coming from the cornucopia… "What the fuck?" they ask themself quietly, an uneasy feeling growing in their stomach. And that feeling only gets worse when they can see some of the dirt churning and hands sticking up through it as mutts climb their way up above ground.
They quickly scramble to their feet, holding their axe in front of them defensively. Great, now they have to fight mutts in the day time too?! And they lock eyes on them right away, groaning and snarling as they start coming towards them, leaving them no choice but to fight them off.
But they're supposed to be fighting tributes, not mutts! This is just all so stupid, why did they volunteer for this and why are the Gamemakers doing this to them?! They're tired and angry at themself, they don't want to be fighting these mutts. They look around, trying to figure out a way to escape, but they just seem to keep coming. Which…isn't right, they used to be one per victor or tribute, and then done for the night!
"PLEASE, ANYONE HELP US!"
The desperate cry for help breaks through the sounds of the mutts and Vulcan's head temporarily snaps over in the direction it came from, before focusing back on defending themself from the approaching mutts. No, they can't pay attention to them right now, they have to focus on saving themself! But it doesn't mean they don't feel that guilt about it…
When they hear the loud cry of a bird, they duck down just before it swoops down at them. But they quickly realize it is grabbing the mutts, tossing them away from them. "This doesn't make any sense!" they cry out and yell as they hit another mutt in the head, dropping it to the ground. And it makes even less sense seeing a hovercraft not too long after, heading to the cornucopia and they can just see it starting to land before hidden by the trees.
Vulcan stands there staring for a few seconds, wondering just what it all means…and knows they have a choice to make. They could go run to the hovercraft – and probably safety – and be a coward. Or…they turn in the direction that they had ran from, where they can still hear Lobo crying out for help…
Something is wrong in the arena. And if that's the case…all bets are off on what they're supposed to be doing right now. They fight with themself for a few seconds, dodging the swinging hand of a mutt and cutting off its arm. They should just run for safety on the hovercraft and save themself. It would be the smart thing to do, even if it would probably get them branded a coward by their father back home.
But it wouldn't get rid of the pit of guilt in their stomach and if anything, just make it worse. And they aren't sure if they can live with themself if they keep making the choices that they've been ingrained to make in this arena…
"I swear, this better not get me killed," Vulcan grumbles to themself as they start jogging back where they came from, towards the screams and cries for help. They are going to fix this mistake they made, regardless of how their father will feel. No, maybe even in spite of what he'll think.
For once…they're making the choice they want to make.
As they run, they can hear a scream from behind them and slow a little bit, recognizing it. But…whatever, Adonis could deal with things on his own. He is surely in better shape than Karter and Lobo. So they pick up their pace, weaving around the trees, desperate to reach the two and fix their awful mistake.
And when he finally catches a glimpse of them, he sees a pair of dogs standing in front of them, growling and baring their teeth at mutts trying to come close to the two tributes. But Vulcan can see the wild deer mutt about to charge towards them, antlers lowered and no doubt about to try and gore them with it. So they wait, axe raised, and time their throw to land in the deer's neck. It collapses with a cry of pain and the two whip around to look, and when Lobo sees them there, he points his knife at him accusingly. "No! Don't you dare come back here to finish the job!"
"I'm not doing that," Vulcan says, stepping forward with their hands out to show they don't have any weapons in them. Lobo just stands in front of Karter protectively, and they can see the boy is in rough shape. "Something is going on and the arena's gone to shit. I saw a hovercraft flying, but no cannon. And now the mutts are attacking in the day. And what's with the dogs?"
"They just ran over and started attacking mutts that were attacking us," Lobo says, still standing defensively and not trusting Vulcan one bit. And really, they can't blame him for that. "Stay away from us!"
Vulcan turns at hearing a growling sound in the woods, grabbing a knife from their belt to defend themself. "Look, we've got bigger problems right now," they tell him, knowing it is risky turning their back on him, but they are speaking the truth. Whatever is out there is more dangerous than Lobo. They could somewhat predict him. But the mutts? No clue. "Something is going on that's bigger than us, or the Games. So if you want to keep him alive, you're gonna listen to me and we're going to fight off these mutts. Got it?"
"Fine," Lobo spits out, seeing the mutts coming through the trees. "But if Karter dies, I'm gonna kill you, you bastard."
"Let's hope we live that long for you to do that."
Adonis Sylvester, 18, Capitol
Everything is all going so wrong. He doesn't know what is happening with the arena or why he is the target of it, but all he knows is that his legs feel like they're about to give out any moment now, leaving him as an easy meal for the whole pack of career victors chasing after him. He thought he had time to get out of District Two before night fell and all the mutts tried to attack him. But this is some serious bullshit that they're chasing him in the middle of the day!
"Leave me alone, please!" Adonis begs, glancing back to see how close they are, and letting out a small scream of panic that they're getting closer to him. He dodges around some broken stone buildings, crying out even more when a mutt comes out of a building as he runs past and tries to swipe at him. It grabs his backpack, pulling him off-balance and he collapses to the ground, hitting his head on a rock and crying out in pain.
But the mutt hasn't stopped chasing him and he's just given it a prime opportunity to get to him. He starts scrambling backwards on the ground as blood trickles down his forehead, whimpering when he recognizes the rotting face. "Why you?!" he asks, kicking at the legs of the Drazen mutt as it tries to grab him. He scrambles up, trying to run away, but it just tackles him to the ground.
Adonis starts screaming in pain as the mutt tears at his back and he starts flailing and trying to push it off of him. Tears fall down his cheeks as he can't get it to let go of him, gasping in pain. No, please, he doesn't want to go like this. He doesn't want to die, he was so stupid to think he could volunteer and win these Games! And he was so stupid to play with Drazen, and now he is going to get his payback for it.
And the worst part is…he knows he deserves this.
He curls in on himself, protecting his stomach and putting his hands over the back of his neck. But the mutt doesn't let up, scratching and biting at him as Adonis keeps whimpering in pain.
Until suddenly the mutt is thrown off of him with a snarl, and Adonis looks up in time to see Zephyr shoot the mutt through the head.
"Snarky bastard," Zephyr says, shaking his head with a scowl as he stands there above him.
"Rude," Adonis comments back, assuming he's talking to him and ignoring Seraphim's outstretched hand to help him up from the ground. Once standing, he winces in pain, feeling all the scratches and bites and the blood slowly dripping down his body. His brain is so focused on the injuries and survival that he hasn't even processed yet that the two are standing there.
"I was talking about Drazen, not you," Zephyr replies, rolling his eyes at him before shooting another mutt heading their way, wincing in recognition.
"Oh that does make more sense," Adonis says, brushing off his clothes and looking around apprehensively, adrenaline pushing him to want to run far, far away. But then his brain starts working again and he turns back to the two, pointing at them. "Wait, why the fuck are you in the arena? What's going on? Am I dead and this some cruel afterlife dream?!"
"We'll explain on the way back to the hovercraft," Seraphim tells him, putting a hand on his back in an uninjured spot to start pushing him towards the cornucopia. "Now can we please get out of the District Two section before I have to watch my partner kill another mutt that looks like one of his friends?"
"Absolutely," Zephyr says, gesturing for Seraphim to take the lead. The former Head Gamemaker starts jogging, gun at his side but ready to fire if necessary, and Zephyr shoves Adonis until he starts jogging after him, the victor taking the rear. "Move it, kid. You're not the only one we're trying to save here. You just happened to be the closest."
"And here I was thinking I was special," Adonis says with a sigh, but soon shakes his head to give Zephyr a look over his shoulder as he cleanly shoots a mutt heading towards them. He is so exhausted from all the running and fighting, so just knowing that it's all going to be over soon enough… And he knows if they hadn't arrived, he would be dead right now. "…Thanks for saving me."
"Don't thank us just yet," Zephyr tells him and Adonis turns to keep watching where he's jogging as Seraphim waves for them to keep up. "Save that for when you're actually out of the arena. There's a whole rebellion going on outside these walls so who knows where there will be safety."
"Right…" Adonis says, biting his lip a little bit as they reach the boundary between Two and the Capitol sectors. He slows a little bit and Zephyr gives him a look at that. "But…what about the mentors? Are they safe?"
Zephyr gives him a judging look as Seraphim stops to come back over to them. "Really? You're still asking about him after everything you did to him?"
"I've had time to think, okay?" Adonis says with a scoff and pushes him so he can stomp a little bit towards the hovercraft, arms crossed and scowl on his face.
"The mentors and escorts are in lockdown in the mentor room," Seraphim tells him, sharing a look of surprise with Zephyr. He jogs to catch up to Adonis, clearly not trusting him to go off too far on his own. "They're probably the safest ones right now."
Adonis takes in a deep breath at that before nodding his head at Seraphim. "Good," he replies, picking up his pace to the hovercraft. Maybe…these means he has a chance at repairing the relationships he absolutely destroyed. Both with Odyssey and Misha, and…Drazen. "Well come on then, let's hurry this up!"
"Quickly," Seraphim says, keeping low as he hurries through the Capitol section. As they run, he shoots a couple mutts that try to get near them, and Adonis can't help but be a little surprised at this side of him. "The rebels took over controls of the arena," he starts explaining to Adonis, glancing back and pointing behind them. Zephyr follows his gaze, taking out a mutt chasing after them, and Adonis moves a little closer to him for protection. "And declared war on the Capitol. The Games are over and we're trying to save as many of you as we can."
"Well shit," Adonis says, blinking in surprise at that. He knew that there were rebels out there – everyone knows what happened in the Quell… But he didn't think they were that serious of a threat! So for them to do this…well, he just keeps his mouth shut and runs a little faster, even if his legs are about to give out on him.
When they reach the hovercraft, Seraphim stands by the door as it lowers. He checks a device on his wrist as Zephyr stands guard. "We've got two dogs stationary in Seven and a third approaching them," he says, looking up at Zephyr. "Five heading to the same spot in Ten, with Julian and Juno heading after them. Then two in One and two separated in Three…"
"Then we go to Seven first," Zephyr decides for them before giving Adonis a small push to go up into the hovercraft. "Move it, we've got tributes to say."
"Yes, sir," Adonis says with a small roll of his eyes as he heads inside. He turns back to look at them as the door starts shutting, waving at them. "Thanks again," he says quietly, unsure how to feel right now about them saving his life.
"Of fucking course it's you they saved first."
Adonis sighs at the voice and wipes at the blood dripping on his face, trying to hide his emotions from the pair. "Well, well, well," he says as he looks at the two tributes sitting inside already, both of them scowling at seeing him there, as someone rushes over to him and starts pulling him along to treat his wounds. "Isn't this a party?"
Another update in under a month? Who is she? Lol don't expect this kind of speed in the future because it ain't happening. Doesn't seem like work is going to slow down any time soon, hopefully with reasons I can share next update.
Time to start listing locations as they are confirmed. These are just locations, not statuses, so interpret that as you will.
- Hovercraft: Bez, Adonis, Chantelle
- D7 Sector: Vulcan, Karter, Lobo
- D3: Riley, Sonya
- Protecting a Crazy Man: Juno
Next chapter we'll either stay in the arena or get a look at our outside group. Idk, still debating it and probably will end up writing both options and just decide from there. See y'all when I see ya!
